Windows FireRed/LeafGreen is a brand new console developed by Microsoft and Nintendo. Also it's a remake of the old Windows versions Windows Red and Windows Blue (a.k.a. Windows Blue Screen). This new version of Window, which will be released to the market as a console instead of a software, will include special editions of Microsoft's best-sold programs, like Wordpad and MS Paint with cameos of Nintendo's all-star characters, such as Rayman and R2D2.
Windows FireRed/GreenLeaf will be released between Never and Ever.
Windows FireRed/LeafGreen is currently not binary-compatible. Instead, program have to be recompiled with a modified version of GCC called DittoGCC.

edit Hardware
Windows FireRed/LeafGreen will have no keyboard, instead, it will have a unique rectangle-like joy pad with every single key of the keyboard. There will be also the possibility of installing printing and scanning utilities and drivers. Unfortunately, there will be no ports for such things. Windows FireRed/LeafGreen will not use mice, but instead will use a rattata.
Unique to Windows FR/LG is a new type of program categorization, which does not categorize by function buy by element. These include fire, grass, water, dark, and glitchy. There are seventeen types in all.
edit Interface
The Interface of FireRed/LeafGreen will be a simple six program line up. You will have six programs that you can install on the computer (and will be able to have more if you purchase a box extension), and the programs are sent out when selected. The programs each have four actions to select from. Alternatively, you can use a unique feature called "Items", which allow the direct modification of the program without the messing about in source code and other things. Certain programs are "shiny," which makes the program pretty, but effects nothing.
After extended use, a number of programs will level up, and run faster. Windows said this decision was made so space was not taken up by useless pokegrams. Certain programs will evolve at certain levels i.e. MS Paint evolves into Adobe Photoshop at level 36.
edit Extensions
Extensions can be bought in both hardware and software. One extension is the popular "Bill's Box", which allows more than six programs to be owned. There are a current total of 649 programs, and Bill's Box can hold at least twice that. Another extension is the popular "TM" or Technical Machine, which allows programs to learn new moves. Others are called "HM", which are made by Microsoft and impossible to delete without the "Move Remover" extension.
Certain hacks called "stones" allow you to force a program to evolve, depending on the type of the program. Other hacks allow the programs to perform better, such as Carbos and Zinc. A third type of hack, called a berry, allows a program to speed itself up when lag is occurring, but can only be used once. They often come with viruses, however, because the program dislikes the flavor.
Certain programs will only be given at special Microsoft events, but can be hacked with the external "Action Replay" or "GameShark" extensions.
edit Software
A controversial decision was made by Microsoft to only provide some software on each version, and allow programs to be traded with other machines. Thus, only certain programs would be available for purchase on each machine initially. Programs included the MS Fire-Type Office Suite, Mozilla Vulpix, McChansey virus protection, and Machamp Fight Club arranger. An essential program was Porygon, which allowed the user to change the type of the program, learn moves from other programs and cause seizures. Programs are acquired by taking an MS Pokeball and placing the CD in the store into the pokeball, thus Capturing the program. When the program was to be run, the pokeball would be attached to the computer. Certain pokeballs make programs cheaper.
A special type of program known as "Legendary" programs are extremely rare and expensive. These would typically take a while to capture, but had the best performance stats out of all the other pokegrams.
edit Reception
Reception to the OS was mixed, with Slashdot claiming that the program was "a callback to the company's glory days", whereas Nintendo Power Magazine claimed "What the fuck is this? I mean seriously, what the fuck? What the fuck, man?".
A common criticism was the fatalness of the famous Missingno bug. If the HM surf was used in certain parts of the east coast, the OS would throw up a glitched program called Missingno, which would corrupt all the data saved on the hard drive. Microsoft defended their mistake by saying "Well fuck, we are in a lot of trouble aren't we".
