Unprotect Pokemon

Can you remove the protection for Pokémon (video games series), and restrict the protection so that only admins and registered users can edit it? Like Puppy says, there is no reason to unprotect that Pokemon page: it is made up of several fully editable subpages. If there is an edit you'd like to make to the page and not the subpages, you'll have to tell me what that is before I unprotect the page so that you can do it. Sisyphus's message

Hello, I had a page called "Boko Haram" that was under construction, then someone moved it into my user space. I've embellished it to what I hope is a reasonable standard - could you have a look and if you agree move it back into public space? Rgds Sisyphus Sisyphus (talk) 22:02, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

Yup, your article is much improved. Feel free to move it back out into mainspace. Also, you should add some more wikilinks (e.g.: [[User:Zombiebaron]]) to the main body of the article. -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 04:41, March 5, 2012 (UTC)

Forum:An easier way to create userboxes

Could you have a look at this. Qzekrom mentioned it and I thought it was a good idea, and advised him to take it to the dump. I'm not a fan of user boxes as a general rule but having uniformity in them, along with an option to set up float and other bits and pieces with them makes sense. Romartus suggested there may be a restriction, but beyond server issues with significant transclusion I don't see any technical problem, and semi-protecting or protecting the base template will avoid using it for vandalism by transclusion. Given we transclude signature templates, that first technical issue is probably not so severe that it would make a major impact. Pup 12:04 07 Mar '12

How is that possible???

How can reading something that another person wrote make them gay? What if a girl read that? Does that make her a guy who likes guys? What if it was read by a baby that hasn't even been born yet...does that make them gay too? And if Jesus is reading it from heaven...does that make the human reincarnation of god (the person who said gayness is an abomination) also gay? The more I think about it ... the less likely your statement could be true. --ShabiDOO 06:16, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

Shabby, I just realised, after reading what you're referring to, how pretty your eyes are. And how tight your buns. Pup 06:21 12-03-12

Gay women are called "lesbians". You may want to use google to do some research on the subject. -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 11:51, March 12, 2012 (UTC)
So do women who read that edit summary become lesbians or gay? No search on the internet explains any of that :( --ShabiDOO 03:26, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
When discussing a lady, the terms "gay" and "lesbian" are synonyms. -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 03:28, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
Unless the word "gay" is deliberately being misused to mean someone who likes men, but usually a "gay" woman is a lesbian, exactly. By the way, if you know of any tight male buns, I could use a pair. No sweet sticky buns though, those would only make me fatter plus I'm gluten intolerant.-- Simsilikesims(♀GUN) Talk here. 03:40, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
Okay. And if Allah was reading the edit summary? Allah is nor male nor how would Allah be gay? I checked the internet and the internet had no answers for that question. Thanks. --ShabiDOO 05:30, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
Of course Allah is male, have you READ the Koran? Because, you know...I haven't. It's Mrthejazz... a case not yet solved. 05:35, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
Well..considering I'm a born again non-muslim...then yes...yes I have read several of the very short books of the Koran. As far as I understood, Allah is not a man or woman nor being as we know it, but more of a force or all being or something like that...a being that gets particularly angry when the book he/she dictated to a halucinating man in a cave, is burned or reported to have been burned or may have been burned or some guy said that the Imam of a mosque in the neighbouring province claimed that some infidel wiped his ass with the page of it. That person/thing. How are they supposed to be gay? --ShabiDOO 05:51, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
You're sure there's nothing in there about being gay for Jesus? I'm pretty sure Allah was gay for Jesus. It's Mrthejazz... a case not yet solved. 06:04, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
Yes. That's the solution. Allah was/is/will always be gay for Jesus. Finally, what Zombie wrote makes sense. Thanks MrtheJazz! --ShabiDOO 07:22, March 14, 2012 (UTC)

This thing I did to make it match what we currently have at Uncyclopedia:Maintenance/Fix. I don't understand what you mean when you said "This isn't the proper page for that". Totally foxed on that one... :-) As for "it's better that we know about the expired tags so we can remove them from those pages." what expired tags would we remove from where a when and who whatsaid what? ya? um?

I just figured the two should match. I use Uncyclopedia:Maintenance to look for pages which need to be dealt with / deleted and Uncyclopedia:Maintenance/Fix appears in bold on Uncyclopedia:Maintenance when there is something to delete, but it currently does not work because the code from the two does not match. Could you explain because I'm confused. :) MrN Icons-flag-gb HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png Fork you! 06:35, Mar 15

I've rolledback my edit. I wasn't aware that you were making the two DPLs match (the one on UN:M, and the one on UN:M/Fix). It seems to me that by not including featured pages and vital pages on the list of pages with expired tags, the pages in those categories that have been tagged (if any have) will go unnoticed. Many times I find pages in (for example) UN:M/WIP that don't belong there, so I go to the page and remove the construction tag. So really, what I'm trying to ask is, how will be find featured pages that have been fix tagged? -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 07:15, March 15, 2012 (UTC)
I guess more the question might be why would an admin need to find vital or FA articles tagged with fix when looking from a maintenance point of view? Either we intend to delete vital or FA articles via expired fix or we don't, and if so I guess they just sit there for ever with the fix tag on them until someone finds them in the fix category and fixes them. Category:Rewrite appeared to disappear during my last absence from Uncyc so I guess the gap left by Category:Rewrite has been taken up by Vital articles tagged with fix. ... If you just wanted to find fix tagged vital articles, I think a DPL table could be made to generate that, as it's kinda the opposite of what we have now. MrN Icons-flag-gb HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png Fork you! 07:35, Mar 15
Well, from a maintenance point of view it would be nice to see all the pages with expired fix tags in one list. The idea that important pages which somebody has deemed sub-par will be laying around "until someone finds them" doesn't seem like a good way to do things. Featured pages should be rolledback to revisions that don't require fixing, and low quality vital pages shouldn't be left to rot. -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 07:45, March 15, 2012 (UTC)
It makes sense to me to have the vital and featured away from the list of those ripe for deletion. Can't we simply have a second or third DPL that shows use the intersect categories on the same page though. From a perspective of fixing by priority that would be the ideal for me. (Quick note - when I had a similar DPL on the VFD page I also removed the vital/feature filter, as I wanted to be able to see those on there as well, for the same rationale as expressed above.) Pup 08:20 15 Mar '12
What ever happened to that fix chart you put at the bottom of VFD? The sort of DPL I'm talking about (featured and vital pages with fix tags) should probably go on a fixing-pages-oriented project page (along with that chart). -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 08:25, March 15, 2012 (UTC)
I agree. UN:M/Fix isn't really a fixing pages chart, despite it's name and the shortcut. Maybe Uncyclopedia:What_You_Can_Do needs a facelift. Pup 08:32 15 Mar '12
I agree. I also think the responsibility to find the best version from the history should be on the person who places the tag in the first place. For FA articles there is always a well known "good" page so it's always easy and possible to RV to that. I can't see any time when a fix tag should ever be added to an FA article myself. As for what to do with the "vital" pages I agree that they need extra attention. I guess we either delete them with expired fix tags or we don't. I don't really have an opinion either way, on what we should be doing re the vital or not thing... I just did what I did with the DPL to make it match what was there. :-) It would help if we added more links around the place informing users about Category:Articles to fix or maybe Uncyclopedia:Articles to fix. PuppyOnTheRadio is one of our best users for fixing articles and he was not aware of the fix category until I pointed it out to him recently. He's an experienced user who regularly fixes articles at VFD and has done for years, so if he has missed it then I'm sure others have also. That's why I supported him when he wanted to add that list of category fix articles to VFD. I don't think there will ever be another fixing-pages-oriented project page which will actually be an ongoing successes. We have VFD, and people who want to fix articles hang out at VFD. That, however is another story...  ;-) If (from what I can tell) you want to change the DPL code at Uncyclopedia:Maintenance/Fix to include "vital" articles and match the code before I changed it then go for it. Like I said, I don't really have strong feelings either way. The Vital category is rather arbitrary. So long as the responsibility to find the best version is on the person who adds the tag then I'm not really that fussed. My rational being that by doing this pages with lots of history take more effort to correctly tag, and that's as it should be. Pages with only a few edits are easy to tag which is ideal as those are probably the pages which should be getting tagged the most in the first place. :) MrN Icons-flag-gb HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png Fork you! 08:48, Mar 15
Oh, if we do start huffing vital articles with expired fix then we probably need a "rewrite" category for very vital articles which are not bad enough to delete, but need help desperately. That would be handy. MrN Icons-flag-gb HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png Fork you! 08:58, Mar 15
To be fair on my lack of knowledge of it, I am an idiot. But yeah, I know Al was also unaware, and I think he was active when rewrite became defunct. Pup 09:43 15 Mar '12

The maintenance lists themselves exclude vital articles and features. Unless you updated those as well (and you shouldn't have, what with them being vital articles and features), please don't remove the exclusion from the overview list or it'll just get confusing. And if you want a list for fixing purposes, see Uncyclopedia:Articles to fix. It's not done, hence the lack of links to it, but the lists themselves are there and they are inclusive. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 15:28, 15 March 2012

The no add section annoys me, even though I can guess why it's not there. Just wondering about the "pee review for self nom" rule. Given that the queue is now nearly non-existent, I'm wondering if this can be brought back in. It seems to me encouraging editors to review their own work (using skills they learn reviewing others) and seeking feedback on their work prior to VFH nom is a good idea. It also helps teach n00bs how to write funny, which may keep good writers here longer. (I wasn't around when the rule was dropped, as far as I'm aware, so I'm assuming it related to a stagnant pee. You were, so your thoughts would be appreciated.)                               Puppy's talk page12:34 21 Mar

I just tested it on Chrome, Opera, FF, IE, Safari for iphone, Chrome for iPhone, as well as downloading the file and viewing in inkscape and GIMP. No difference in any of them. That suggests that either it has been fixed (which is unlikely due to it being unchanged for over 3 years), it was a parser hiccup (which would suggest a refresh of cache should fix it), or that you have a plug-in on your browser that does something nasty to SVG, (or that you have an older version browser that doesn't natively support, or has faulty support, for SVG). Try refreshing the browser cache. If that fails then can you upload a screenshot of what is actually happening?                               Puppy's talk page02:42 31 Mar
