I see you huffed The Boy who chose the girl over the sun or whatever the name is, with only a 3 on VFD and with changes made that most of the nays probably hadn't read yet. A three hasn't been enough to huff a page, and this one was well worked on and was doing well in the last hours. I appeal your decision, somehow, to the court of clowns, and asked that it be returned to main space for further deliberation. Thanks. Aleister 10:00 18-4-'11
Actually, the score was +4 on VFD, and my implied vote made it +5. If you would like it back in your userspace I can do that. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 15:17, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
Sure, please userspace it. Then how is it UnUsersspaced? If I get the nay voters to take another look at it? First things first, though. I think it's a cute little page. Thanks. Aleister 15:20 18-4-'11
Here it is. When you're done rewriting it you can probably just move it into mainspace and pray it doesn't get VFD'd again. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 15:27, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks you very mooch. I'll work on it enough so that it's an OK article, even if not feature or spongeworthy. But not today, not today. Thanks again. Aleister 15:29 18-4-'11
Just dropping by to say chag Pesach kasher v'sameach. And remember - go easy on the matzah. You know the dangers. :-) Rabbi TechnokvetchContribsFOXES 15:38, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
What about a fifth of it? 1234~04:47, 19 April 2011
If you can make me a huge list of UnPoetias that somehow bypassed QVFD I'd be happy to delete them, but we'll have to VFD the rest. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 04:57, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
They're pretty much immune to qvfd, as like game pages, most users have no idea what to make of them. Also, because they usually utterly suck. 1234~05:04, 19 April 2011
I`m going to do something, and I need your helping hand/head/foot
I think you remember, when I few months ago asked about this page does not exist, right? I found this other page, this This page does NOT exist. It has images that doesn`t exist, text that doesn`t exist, so I thought, that there could even be a history that doesn`t exist. Yes, and that`s possible, is we would create a page called index.php?title=This_page_does_NOT_exist&action=history, and then make something to that page. like "THIS HISTORY DOES NOT EXIST. GO AWAY" or something like. But I want a bit of the code from the page. All I got was this:
This was one part of the code that I wanted inside the article, but it won`t work on the page. I tried it. Could yuo know anything? Cat the Colourful(Feed me!)Zzz05:41, 19April, 2011(UTC)
Oh. I just... Aww crap. And i thought I said it clearly. I just wanted to try something weird. If that`s not okay to you, then, never mind. Cat the Colourful(Feed me!)Zzz06:25, 19April, 2011(UTC)
I think to accomplish your mission you will need a css hack. You should talk to Lyrithya about that. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 06:58, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
That'd take js to do. Need an admin for that, and a technically capable one, at that. I am neither of those things. 1234~07:01, 19 April 2011
I don't know the code. Try Olipro. 1234~07:13, 19 April 2011
Userspace copy
is there a way to get a copy of the code of a huffed page, not to restore, but to move to ?pedia? the 20 seconds die one? --KevilLipsMUN,CM,NS,3of7 06:48, April 20, 2011 (UTC)
I know it is the 3am talking but thank you. --KevilLipsMUN,CM,NS,3of7 07:28, April 20, 2011 (UTC)
Image Judgery
Terribly sorry about missing that, I was literally just about to do it now (an hour past the dealine, granted) having looked at the images the other day. Apologies. I suppose the main thing is that everyone had a good time. I know I did. --BlackFlamingo 23:59, April 21, 2011 (UTC)
Could you do Shabidoo's judging then? He seems to have missed the deadline too. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 00:13, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, never mind, I got JackOfSpades to do Shabidoo's judging. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 04:48, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
Black Nixon
I read about what you said. And I took your suggestions about keeping the airbrush in the face and not to the hair. Thanks, and i'll remember this next time I do a blackface or something. Cheers. --Lollipop-CONTRIBS-WRITINGS-SHOP-Now adopting! - 04:46, 22 April 2011
Zombie, its not really a big deal, but you said the deadline for the judging was today (which is today). I was just going to put in the restults and I see I was replaced. Not such a big deal, but there wasn't even a post on my talk page about it (reminding me to put them in nor that I was replaced without warning).
Ïn any case, thanks for the competition. --ShabiDOO 16:47, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
I only replaced you because the deadline was coming up and I wanted to move forward into the end phase of the competition. Nothing personal, I just grabbed Jack off of IRC. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 18:55, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
I dont take it personally, I just suggest a bit of patience with time lines, and if there is a time at say, midnight on Friday to maybe wait until then. I had vey different opinions about the entries than the other judges and would have ended up in a different results. Just my humble suggestion. Was a verry nice competition...you should do it every season. --ShabiDOO 19:58, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
I hope to make this a yearly competition. You can be a judge at the next one if you'd like. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 20:05, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
TOTSE
Dear Sir, it seems the article I wrote on TOTSE is now huffed. I wasn't expecting this I didn't get a reason for the removal. Also, I was in the middle of editing but I had some issues with uploading or adding images. Now, after working on extra content I find the original article is gone. Yes, I know I removed the construction header but I thought it just might fix the image uploading problem.
Can you please restore it so I can fix it. Thank you LordDfg
Ok I recreated the page. You should probably cut down on the number of external links and instead increase the number of internal links. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 19:45, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, thanks. My plan is to rewrite it, and move it back to mainspace. And to remove the quotes. --Lollipop-CONTRIBS-WRITINGS-SHOP-Now adopting! - 18:47, 23 April 2011
dear zombiebaron, i have created a template that is called {{Keypress}}. it is a mere thing that make this:
ctrl
look like this:
ctrl
i hope that you liked and please make a reference on the template page
by the way, it looks like a button and he behaves like one.
(๏̯͡๏)"half-moon" bubbayay, hidden text!(ಠ_ರೃ) 16:44, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
p.s.:this is the code: {{Keypress|ctrl}}
But nothing happens when I press it! Spıke¬ 14:39 24-Apr-11
Thanks Half Moon, but Uncyclopedia already has buttons. Also, could you please fix your signature so that it doesn't leave a mess of code on every page that you sign. Thanks. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 18:24, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
Zombie, your link is to what Puppy calls "a stupid piece of code." Half Moon seems to have incorporated this into a template and may have performed a service. I improved the explanation in the template and pared down the code, apparently without changing its effect. Spıke¬ 18:32 24-Apr-11
Ok, that's fair. But I don't know what "template page" I'm supposed to "reference" it on. Instead you guys should just go implement it wherever it's applicable. And Half Moon still needs to fix his signature. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 18:36, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
To be fair, PotR wouldn't know stupid code if it bit him in the face. At least that's what his hacks and games and skins would indicate... *shudders* 1234~18:50, 24 April 2011
dear people that actually talked about my template, i most say that i am grateful for the big conversation that it produced. first of all, zombiebaron, the buttons i have seen in the page that you linked were a little odd and these one are identical to the one of Wikipedia (i make a similar one but it out the code.) and that same one button (the button that i have created) was redone by spike that i am very grateful whit. by the way, what can i do to fix my signature? it seemed very normal to me (if it is by the hidden text there are allot of signatures whit that feature.)whit love
(๏̯͡๏)"half-moon" bubbayay, hidden text!(ಠ_ರೃ) 16:44, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
Half Moon, please read: Uncyclopedia:How_To_Get_Started_Editing#Signature_templates. The thing is to get all that code into a file in your userspace, so that only the filename, not the code itself, is deposited on a page when you sign the page. The code itself doesn't need to change. This also provides that, if you change your signature, it will be changed in all places, present and past. Spıke¬ 17:15 25-Apr-11
Well, it's already in a template... perhaps what he really needs to read is UN:SIG - not use giant fonts, use a timestamp, and perhaps put it on the same line as the text itself so it doesn't take up so much space... 1234~18:36, 25 April 2011
Your link and my link are links to basically copies of the same text. His signature does seem to use his new template--He's now, correctly, got it in a "nosubst" file--and it is a problem that the button is not "inline". Spıke¬ 23:38 25-Apr-11
by the way, zombiebaron the page to post is templates and i already fixed my signature thanks.(๏̯͡๏)"half-moon" bubbayay, hidden text!(ಠ_ರೃ) 17:01, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
By the way, Templates (which redirects to Uncyclopedia:Templates) needs much more than this. It is a lifeless list of a very tiny percentage of the available templates, where what is needed is some guidance on their use. I'm not talking about hard-and-fast rules but guidance from what the author wants to achieve to the right template to use to achieve that. In UnNews, we have much more structured guidance and examples in the UnNews:Style Guide. I've given the new Button template a brief mention in UN:HAX, which is where the author looks if he wants to pull off something tricky. Spıke¬ 17:50 26-Apr-11
I have never used Templates for anything. Most templates that I want to use I have already seen used properly on a page, so I just go to that page and copy the code. However, if someone feels that it would be helpful to update the list of templates I won't stop them. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 18:00, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
My humble little opinion, is that a week is a long time. A few days will drive the point (and I agree with your point). Again, all in my humble opinion. --ShabiDOO 20:01, April 28, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for letting my know your point of view. However, I stand by my decision. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 20:09, April 28, 2011 (UTC)
All right, my pleasure to voice my opinion. But it doesnt hurt to ask yourself, would you have given him an entire week if you were not on the recieving end of said dickness? Could it also be dickish to dish out a week long ban because of your own frustrations...personal frustrations? In anycase, something to think about. --ShabiDOO 00:01, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
Except that almost every user of this wiki has been on the receiving end of his dickishness at one time or another. I can assure you that this ban was not merely the product of my own "personal frustrations", as I consulted with other admins before making the ban. I would never ban an actively contributing member of our community for a week unless there was a really good reason. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 05:22, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
Just to be clear. SPIKE has received a one week ban for the above offence. So who is now looking after UnNews? I hope an admin posts a message on the UnNews newsroom to indicate Spike's enforced leave of absence otherwise others may not be aware of what has happened. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 06:13, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
My hope is that other users will step in and look after UnNews themselves as a community. I don't think that a message explaining the situation will be necessary. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 06:19, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
Zombiebaron, you have shown your willingness to intervene when no one else dared to do so. This is a welcome change. MegaPleb•Dexter111344•Complain here 07:24, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
I agree with a ban (not the length...I seriously disagree with one week) but in terms of balance, i.e. what SPIKE does in the news room, the thankless job ... where his only intention is keeping the quality high, and the NEWS articles are, without a doubt the highest quality articles on this website, which is probably why SPIKE gets carried away with his dickery. Perhaps that admin message in the news room is not a bad idea. --ShabiDOO 12:10, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
Shabidoo, please stop trying to tell me how to do my job. I know what I'm doing. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 16:46, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
Okay Zombiebaron, I wont insist anymore. You are much more experienced than I am at dealing with problems. I will stop my dialogue. It was wrong for me to question things. Thanks for doing what other people are afraid to do. --ShabiDOO 18:08, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
I see there have been changes on UnNews. My earlier question has been answered.--RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 12:24, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
I thought about this and, my appoligies for insinuating that you would ban someone for petty reasons. Thats not how I wanted the conversation to go. I was hoping for dialogue and it ended badly. Sorry Zombiebaron. --ShabiDOO 12:48, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
Obviously Bhind45 is a well meaning noob with a very minimal knowledge of how wikis work. That is not a bannable offense. The article that he was trying to nominate is utter crap, and I'm glad he brought it to our attention. No, I will not ban him. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 09:12, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
Zombiebaron
I agree with some things that you do sometimes, but other times I don't agree with certain things. So you should do more of the former and less of the latter. –SirSkullthumper,MD(criticize•writings•formspring) 17:06 Apr 29, 2011
Hey ZB. If you have time, could you look this over for me? I wasn't sure if it a worthwhile idea but TKF seemed to like it. I'd appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks. MadMax 19:30, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
That looks like a very good idea you have there MadMax. I didn't read the entire page, but I liked what I read. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you organize it (although, I'll probably want to participate), such as a logo or prize templates. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 19:41, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
That'd be great, thanks! I was considering holding an experimental 4-person tournament (the eqivalant of one tournament block) to test the system out. TKF suggested it could be held as early as next month though I wasn't sure how many might be interested since one contest has just ended. MadMax 20:24, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
If you ran a 4 person tournament I'd be interested in taking part. I'll probably only be able to make images and templates one you decide on a name. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron 20:47, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
Belated restoration request
A picture that I uploaded was deleted because it was termed unused. The image was File:Titanic-3.jpg. I had uploaded it for use in the RMS Titanic article, but it had been subsequently edited out. Could you restore it so that I can put it back? --Scofield 10:14, May 1, 2011 (UTC)
I'm not really sure if this goes on your talk page, but anyway,
thanks for the message on my talk, it means a lot. Umm...that's it? It's...Sir Awesome(talk to me) 22:44, May 1, 2011 (UTC)
thanks for the gallery idea Zombie. Saves a lot of work. You can nominate as many 2010 images as you like, attribute them to "Choppers guild per Zombie" or something like that. Im sure youll nominate some nice ones, if you so choose --ShabiDOO 20:52, May 4, 2011 (UTC)
