edit Thanks for your pee, and an attempt to explain the joke, and is it improper to start a brand new talk page without rape?

I was inspired to write the article after reading the talk page of Godwin's Law on Wikipedia (there is actually a quote from there). I know that GL doesn't state that Hitler comparisons are invalid, but whenever GL is referenced it is strongly implied that it does, and it is usually a sign for the thread to end. The main joke is that while I complain about how GL is wrongly used, I am also using the same principle to invalidate GL. The second main joke is when GL is used on the internet, it is not clear how possibility of Hitler comparison is 1 = argument invalid, but it is taken for granted that it does. So the argument methods I used are mysterious and inconsistent. The Sun Tzu quote was there just for fun, because I'm actually a great fan.

So, anyway, there I was, congratulating myself on coming up with such a brilliant idea, when I then realize that nobody would get them except me. I also know that the execution of the later sections could use more inspiration, but I'm really out of ideas. Looks like a major rewrite is in order. ~Scriptsiggy.JPGTelephonesig Star Starsig Kidneysig 16:09, Jan 1, 2010

Something like that's happened to me too; I guess that's what rewriting is for. I hope you get inspired as I really like the good parts. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 17:48, January 1, 2010 (UTC)

edit Thanks

Thanks for your note, but remember, you made my notm possible by nominating me. All I'm doing is standing on the shoulders, or climbing on the backs, of those who forged the river. As for sticking around, probably, although there will be periods where work and other projects will take more priority, and depending on where I am and laptop access. But you know I have to be absent for at least one extended period to uphold the notm tradition, and I'll work that in at some point. To get you blood either boiling in anger or in lust, take a look at my user page concerning and the photo of your friend Little Mermaid (damn, I seriously love your long discussions on "her" talk page, knowing that she's someone's sock just makes it obvious how "she" was playing you with sweetness. Good writing on both sides). One thing I had a large amount of fun writing (besides 'Anne Hathaway' which has grown on me) is a new unnews page I posted on the Kennedy assassination. Haven't laughed so hard at my own work in a long time, but for some reason thinking of the concepts and language broke me up. Anyway, a longish note here. Thanks for everything, Aleister in Chains 2 January MMX

You're welcome; I was happy for you to get recognition for your work. As to the other issue, I still honestly do not believe I was fooled; I think someone in a position of authority made a mistake. I'll look for the Kennedy page. If you want to know something weird, I was thinking about the Kennedy assassination within the hour before I read your message. Let me know where the article is and I'll check it out. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 05:38, January 3, 2010 (UTC)
Caught me just before sleep beckons. The Kennedy thing is the second lead right now on unnews, called UnNews:Kennedy Assassination Solved. I appreciate your interest. As for tiny-dancer mermaid, denial is a good thing, but when you come out of it and read "her" entire talk page you may put "her" and your work up for feature, and I'll vote for it immediately! Have a great night, Aleister in Chains the morrow, MMX
Some of you people must go to bed about the time the sun comes up. But that's all right. Good morning! WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 06:00, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

edit Ignoring PEE suggestions

Which article ignored almost all and got featured? (Just out of curiousity) Pup To clarify, I wrote "1 = Number of articles that followed some but less than almost all of my official Pee Review suggestions and got featured". WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 05:08, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

That sort of subtlety is a little beyond me. Pup
A more accurate comment on my statement might be, "that sort of improper English is a little beneath me." But I can get away with it, because I'm part of the Uncyclopedia Legal Department. Compassrose Serjeant-at-Law WHY??? (legal consultations)  05:33, January 4, 2010 (UTC)
Improper English such as...hmm...starting a sentence with a conjunction? ;-) (Which, incidentally, I do frequently - anybody who worries about that sort of thing obviously has too much time and is a Nazi). Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 13:19, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
Starting a sentence with a conjunction was perfectly acceptable for King James I and for William Shakespeare. And it's good enough for me. (Also English teachers who tell students it's improper were probably taught in the 1940s or 1950s; it's been considered acceptable for decades. English teachers are usually way out of date). edit Oh dear.

Vote to have Sophia featured on the Uncycloversary, you heathen. Once you're done with that, since you seem to like welcoming people, are you using a welcome script? I stole TLB's and made some modifications at User:Syndrome/Welcum.js. With this, whenever you see a user in a change log without a talk page, the link to their talk page will be lime green and clicking on it will automatically give them your (well, my) welcome message. As an added bonus, their username will be lime green too, and if they've been naughty, you can click on it to give them {{Oh Dear}}. I only made this because I got tired of forgetting to leave edit summaries when I welcomed people, but I thought you might want to use this too. --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 08:39, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I saw Sophia was up there, and will go read it right now. I have some VFH's to catch up on. I'm not entirely consistent on my welcoming script, but the current one is my own variation at User:Why do I need to provide this?/Welcome. I did the lime greeny thing that was described here, it said I did it, but it never worked. I'll check out what you've done. And I keep forgetting the link to the Oh Dear thing, meaning I end up writing an individual message. Thanks for giving me the link. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 21:58, January 4, 2010 (UTC)
Are you referring to this? That looks like it would change the link color but do nothing else. If you want to use a welcoming script, that's a horse of a different color, as some people say. If you want to try a script, just copy the script I linked to above to User:Why do I need to provide this?/uncyclopedia.js, and change the "Syndrome" part to your name. You can even change the "Oh Dear" to your "Welcome?" message if you'd prefer. --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 22:25, January 4, 2010 (UTC)
Actually, I don't remember ever having seen this. The history says I put it there, so I guess I did, but don't recall it at all. But then that was about 3,000 edits ago. I've probably forgotten a lot I've done here already, so thanks. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 22:55, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

edit Mondo User page

Hi. Saw your note on the MondoUncyclopedia nomination, and it looks like it's going ahead until it dies a natural death, so feel free to vote away. I think it's a very good article myself, but I guess Doc is right when he says it may lose people. Happy 5th uncy anniversary! Aleister in Chains 5uncy, MMX

Thanks for the note! WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 21:29, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

edit Spock

I editted the article a fair bit, along the lines of most/all of your suggestions. Thanks. Mind you, I'm not convinced most people know enough about Dr Spock to notice any deviations from his life story --Sog1970 15:32, January 6, 2010 (UTC)

I'll check it out; again, glad I could help. I agree, most readers won't know or even care about things like whether Dr. Spock was born in 1903 or 1913; but them my point is, why make something up if it's not funny? For the rare, anally-retentive reader like me who will know or find out, you're better off keeping it real. Personally, I think as a general rule, "if a falsehood doesn't make it funnier, don't make the falsehood." Again, I'm glad I could help, and will check it out. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 22:35, January 6, 2010 (UTC)
1913 was a typo, I think. --Sog1970 15:02, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

edit Dannyvirus

I saw you put a welcome on Dannivirus or whatever his name is, and you know what, he's gotten half his wish--he's been nominated for notm! If he comes back and you can get him to write an article (actually, he said he's written some but they get deleated, so technically he qualifies==the rules don't say the article has to stay, justthat he has to write one) he may get some votes. Enjoy the weekend, Aleister in Chains Decembr 7, 1941

  • I'm nominated? YES! By the way, Question: How do I properly add images into an article? Dannehvirus 04:06, January 11, 2010 (UTC)
You have to write an article that doesn't get huffed to be a real contender for NotM - I like you but I need to see something worth voting for before I vote for. Alternatively you can become a PEE reviewer or otherwise a good uncyclopedian by putting things up for QVFD, voting on VFH, that kind of stuff. As to the image thingy, you can have a look at User:PuppyOnTheRadio/HowTo:Upload a File which I made a while ago for a similar question, or for a more detailed listing of options go to Wikipedia:Picture_tutorial. The best way to learn is see what you like on a page and copy it though. Pup
Thanks very much. Dannehvirus 04:58, January 11, 2010 (UTC)
And thanks to everybody for beginning and finishing a discussion on my talk page without my having to intervene. Makes my talk page feel special. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 00:26, January 12, 2010 (UTC)
