edit Welcome!

Hello, ThatGuyThatEdits, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... yeah. Anyway, here are a few good links for people like you:

If you read anything at all, make it the above three links. If you want to find out more about Uncyclopedia or need more help with something, try these:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Button sig) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:ThatGuyThatEdits/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome!  ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) Icons-flag-au 09:21, February 23, 2012 (UTC)

edit Editing and Stuff

Since you're new and all, just some guidelines. Editing articles to replace one person's jokes with your own is not always a good idea. I reverted your edit on Intel, not because what is currently there is that good but the entire article needs some serious edit changes. Otherwise what happens is 'fly tipping' (rather than Fly Tripping which is I believe an article yet unwritten here). Adding content that doesn't make sense to the rest of what is there and you end up with a mess. I saw you had added a redirect for New York. I will remove that. It means there is currently no humorous article occupying that space but means likely that other stuff has been there but was so rubbish it got deleted. If you want to ask me any questions, pop over to my talk page. In addition, if you add something to your user page, your sig will go from red to blue. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 12:20, February 23, 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for dropping by. I don't know what you are talking about with the New York redirect. I typed New York into Uncyclopedia and it took me to a page with just 1 link and a shit joke. I thought it better to link that to something people might want to read. As for my edit to Intel I'm guessing you saw the part about Saturn's anus and assumed all the rest was rubbish and did not check it. This article is written in a childish way, so I'm keeping it like that. I'm confident that if you look again you will see that my version was a significant improvement on what was there.
As for "Editing articles to replace one person's jokes with your own is not always a good idea."
You sir are wrong. If that really is how things are run on this wiki then I shall leave now. I'm sure it's not. I will edit in an italic way as I consider that the best approach when dealing with wikis. If people don't like my edits they can revert them and/or discuss them with me.
I'm going to save another version of the Intel article now in which I have done a few more edits. Thanks for the welcome. ThatGuyThatEdits 12:54, February 23, 2012 (UTC)
If you add something to your user page, your signature will go from red to blue. This means when someone wants to talk to you, they can click on that and go directly to your page. You can also make a direct link to your talk page too. Regarding replacing jokes, I should have added the rider that it is always wise to check on the history of the page to see who was working on it last. Quite a few articles are the result of one writer or two with others pitching in now and again. This is different from what I describe as fly tipping where so many hands go in that you end up with a complete mess and an improvement tag to make it better or see it disappear. That you have made your own copy of the intel article is good, you can add and improve that. If at sometime you want that to be the main space article, ask an admin for their view. I have in the past added or expanded pre-existing articles. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 08:50, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
What you said about linking user pages to talk pages is confusing, but don't worry I understand what you mean. I do not intend to edit any pages here other than this one, and those in the mainspace so that should not be a problem. If it will make you feel more comfortable I will create a user page now. I do check page history before I edit, so no issue there, but I do not understand what difference who is working on any article might make to my decision to edit it. But like I say, don't worry I understand so it's fine. Thanks for dropping in. ThatGuyThatEdits 09:26, February 25, 2012 (UTC)

edit The Guy that edits edits

Hello, guy that edits. I've noticed that your run of edits is usually to religiousity related pages, and that the general theme of your edits is to remove stuff you may find offensive rather than unfunny, and then add in, to a large extent, Christian themes. imnho there is so much of that done over at wikipedia that many pages are just religious propaganda, so I for two am leery of that leaking over to uncyclopedia. Just starting a discussion about that stuff. Aleister 23:38 leap day 2012

Oh my. You think I'm a Christian trying to sanitise the wiki? Lol. Now that really is funny. If you have a look at a few more of my edits and the overall changes to pages I'm making I hope you will find you think differently about them. Some are rewrites / tidy ups, some are small changes. I would have thought you liked my edits to Joint which might have indicated something. I was particularly pleased with the stuff I added about Ankylophobia on Joint Immobility. :-)
Oh, wait. It was the stuff about the pope on the template that made ya think that... That template still needs sorting out a bit more, probably a link to heaven and hell adding somehow, but it's getting too long.
The first significant edit I did was here and more significantly here. Since then I attacked badly written important drug related articles, and since then have been looking at some of the more important Christianity related articles that were in a sorry state. No Christian addenda here (unlike you) sir.  ;) It would entertain me if you showed me some of my edits which you thought were. I'm just trying to cut out the shit. I did the UN as well you know. Check out the stuff about Uncyclopedia on the UN... ;) Let's just say there are over 9000 reasons why I do not want to be nominated for NotM or any other awards. I also will not be editing anywhere other than the mainspace. Now that the penny has hopefully dropped I really don't want any fuss right now, other than to edit articles and make the site better. I can't be doin with site politics now for various reasons... Anyway, as a punishment Aleister for calling me a Christian when actually I'm a non practising luciferian you must give me an article to edit. You know... One which is "Vital" or something but loads of people see it all the time and it looks like crap. ThatGuyThatEdits 00:43, March 1, 2012 (UTC)
If I'm wrong, pologies. Lots of your edits seemed to sanitise things. I haven't seen your joint edits. And it's good to cut out the shit, and I don't understand about editing anywhere besides mainspace (that's what we all do, unless you mean user-space). There is a lot to talk about, but I'm signing off soon, so will leave it at a few comments. I am not here to entertain you, although hopefully I will and you will do the same (entertain yourself). I don't know what UN is. As for a vital page, edit anything you like, but if you edit features you will get more feedback unless it is clean-up (lots of features have gotten out of shape, I tend to remove stupid quotes when I look at them. You may not or may know, but to see the original feature check out that star thing in the right hand top corner of the page). Luciferian? Satan is a creation of christianity, to give them something to fear, and then they "demonized" all the good stuff. You may be pretty cool after all. Good to meet you, actually. Aleister 1:07 1-3-'12
p.s. Joint looks pretty good, I just skimmed it. By UN, if you meant the United Nations page, I saw the section on uncyclopedia and it seems like an oddly placed rant on that page. Interesting though. I'll try to think of a good vital page that's gone blah and no one wants to work on. Are you going to write pages as well? Whoa, just heard the news James Murdoch is out at Murdoch!
Nope, not going to start any new pages, I'm just interested in improving the more vital ones we have now. RE "Luciferian? Satan is a creation of christianity" To a lot of people there is a big difference between the various names given to evil... Devil, Satan, Lucifer, Beelzebub (who was nothing to do with Christ) or whoever depending on who you are... Myself, I would like to be an atheist, but I don't have enough faith to support that believe system. I edited Satan today before you actually on this very subject. ;) I'm not sure why you removed my stuff about the Wiccan Horned god, as he is probably more the dude they were trying to huff rather than that greek dude, but it's all good. I'm glad you removed a lot of the other stuff, I'm cutting out so much that people are starting to complain when I do... You have accused me of being a Christian without providing me with any links for such an accusation! Wait until I tell the Pope! [[User:ThatGuyThatEdits|ThatGuyThatEdits]

Je accuse. "C" on your sweater vest. Yes, Pastafarian is horrible, and far too long. You are doing energetic work, and when that occurs it's hard to keep up and check every edit, so if I jumped to the wrong conclusion then that's what I did. When entire pages change in a series of one edit, then going over the complete edit takes lots of time, but don't let my hindering stop you. This is a wiki, so it's up to each individual to follow up on edits if they'd like to. There was a guy a couple of months ago who did the Christian clean-up thing, and most of his stuff had to be reversed, so I had that in mind too and laid that trip on you. So keep doing good work in clean-up (maybe that's so rare here among new users that I didn't even notice it, like a polar bear hidden in a blizzard which you don't see until it gives you a fish). What started my "concern" was your moving of Evil Jesus on the template, a page I really like and have worked on for a long time. It's a fun one (please read it if you have time). Before I ramble too much, Aleister 3:29 1-3-'12
p.s. Jeez, you want to see a page needing a workout? I just looked at a tagged page, People's Republic of China, as vital as they come and as horrible as they come. I never saw that before, and wonder how it got that way. Yikes! I wouldn't suggest working on it though, as there is probably nothing there worth saving except the pictures. It should be taken out back and shot, VFD for sure. 3:45 1-3-'12
The reason I was thinking of removing Evil Jesus from that template was that there are lots of Jessi articles here, so why pick that one? Probably which ever ones are FA articles should get a spot on the template if there are any. I don't really mind either way so it should stay as it is for now. I would like to add a link to Heaven and Hell, but that template is too long as it is...
Regarding keep up and check every edit Sure. No problem. I thought that you had killed the joke I was going for with one of the edits you did before and I was about to revert it right away, but then on reflection realised it was actually better your way. I had a go at China. It's not amazing now, but it's a lot better than it was. Any page which has that many edits has a lot of years of different edits in the page history and it does not take long to have a look through it and cut and paste something together. ThatGuyThatEdits (talk) 16:57, March 1, 2012 (UTC)
I actually put China on VFD and when I went to place the template on it saw that you had edited it. You are a brave Chinaman. Have also added Heaven and Hell onto the unchristianity template in a fun way. Some of the other links on there are joke links or Jesus links, but I didn't play with the whole thing. Evil Jesus will hopefully be a feature someday, maybe soon. Evil Jesus! (I'll do another edit of EJ again). Aleister 19:14 1-3-'12
I noticed you did that. If you think this is still worthy of VFD then stick it on. I will not mind at all. I only put a few mins into it... It's really not that great I just thought it was better than nothing. If it's not deleted It probably needs to be semi-protected. ThatGuyThatEdits (talk)
Long time no see. We should work together on one of the religious pages sometime, maybe heaven or hell or china. Well, not china, I'm not really into the topic (I am from Greenland, and we've never seen a chinese person here, except for that one guy who got lost on the fishing boat on his way to Denmark and thought we were Danes and, not knowing that we just strap fish to our feet, tried to sell us ski equipment), but heaven and/or hell would be fun.
