edit Welcome!

Hello, Tasmania, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... yeah. Anyway, here are a few good links for people like you:

If you read anything at all, make it the above three links. If you want to find out more about Uncyclopedia or need more help with something, try these:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Button sig) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Tasmania/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome!  GG iTalk iEdit 20:54, February 5, 2012 (UTC)

edit Hea dude

Thanks for your recent edits around the place. However I'm going to ask you to avoid adding the {{construction}} to other peoples articles for a while until you figure out a little more about how things work around here. Take some time to read some more of our guides and have more of a look around... Have fun. MrN Icons-flag-gb HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png 03:33, Feb 7

edit New article maintenance

Is alright by me. The same one people usually do most of it anyway so it's nice that you're around now to give them a break. When you get ideas to write, then write, but 'til then feel free to keep helping out in other areas. Bottom line, as I see it:

  • {{ICU}} anything that looks substandard and is under 7 days old
  • Let the authors themselves use Construction/WIP; just don't worry about this at all. It just complicates things.
  • QVFD anything that, like, super super sucks under 7 days old.
  • Tag anything older than 7 days that you think is awful with {{VFD}} and start the appropriate vote on the VFD page. Remember that page has a 20 article limit though.

So yeah, don't let anyone dishearten you from helping out. Thanks for the edits and stick around! --This signature has been kaputted by odor of the fecking cabal. HATERZ GONNA HATE ASK ME ABOUT MY HUGE, MUTILATED PENIS 05:14, February 7, 2012 (UTC)

edit Mohandas

Thanks for protecting the Gandhi article (see the template on top of its page). You are now blessed with the power of gandhiji himself, for he has left a part of his ashes within the halls of uncyclopedia and most of us walk by them every day! Aleister 22:54 7-2-'12

Jeez, lots of action going on at Gandhi. Its talk page too. That IP started some action going. I surf recent changes, and have seen you do many good things. Yay! Aleister 1:07 8-2-'12

edit Hi

Can you please stop creating talk pages for anonymous users, rather than asking them to stop vandalizing (which they probably won't), take it toUncyclopedia:Ban Patrol to request a ban (you can also report shitty articles to Uncyclopedia:QuickVFD), just follow the directions and you can't go wrong. It's less work for the sysops and a system thats been in place for over 7 years. Thankies. ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) 06:20, February 27, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, use Uncyclopedia:QuickVFD for new crappy articles. If its old and crappy you may use VFD. Consider reading our Deletion policy. ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) 06:37, February 27, 2012 (UTC)

edit About the IP switcher...

This guy seems to have a dynamic IP address (aka an IP that changes). He can easily get it by unplugging his modem/router and plugging it back in again. GG iTalk iEdit 22:14, February 27, 2012 (UTC)

Now that you mention it, I just looked at the IPs in more detail. I put them into http://whatismyipaddress.com and they all seem to have popped up as Romanian proxies. Some routers can change IPs pretty quickly but not as quick as a proxy, like that guy. GG iTalk iEdit 22:32, February 27, 2012 (UTC)
You're welcome! :) GG iTalk iEdit 22:55, February 27, 2012 (UTC)

edit Welcoming users

Subst: the welcome template in there, rather than just putting the template on there. There are three reasons for this: 1) If someone vandalizes the template, it won't show up on everyone's userpage. 2) If you don't, the BASEPAGENAME templates wont work. And finally, 3) It looks more friendly. Thanks. --Tophat headless 02:30, February 28, 2012 (UTC)

What he said. Use {{welcome}} instead of {{welcome}}. Also, you may want to do something about the links in your signature, especially if you're going to be welcoming people - they're quite random and won't do anyone looking for help any favours. ~ Pointy I am Haydrahlienne, I am a bot, and I have no feelings. 20:39, 28 February 2012

edit Good to see you around

And good to know you like the site. Don't mind the people who yell at you or are short tempered, we all can be like that (Here, I'll show you: FUCKIN' JUMP OFF A BRIDGE AND DON'T PASS GO!), and I don't even know what that means. Keep on trying new things, and what you've been doing is nice (except fixing someone else's signature, which will get you yelled at). I like your name, and actually heard two tasmanian devils howling once. I hear they are dying off now, us pesky humans extincting another one! Aleister 23:35 28-2-'12
