Lovely morning for it...--Sycamore (Talk) 09:28, February 12, 2011 (UTC)

Anon seems to have reverted you, and by going to an old version, cutting the ARTICLE (not the edit window!) and pasting it into the article, so as to lose most of the formatting. Then someone came along and slapped {{Ugly}} on it, because it now is. Assuming you really wanted to make 80% of the former text go away, the solution is clear--but I'm not sure. Thanks there dude - looks like Lyrithya did thing and thankfully for us all, I won't have to do anything:)--Sycamore (Talk) 06:05, February 16, 2011 (UTC)

That thing on Lyrithya's talkpage. It's not really constructive, and is leaving a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. On the most positive side, it's a joke that got lost in translation, on the most negative side, it's looking as though you're just being whiney because something didn't go your way. I'm guessing the reality is somewhere between those two, as you're not an whiner usually, and you are usually better at expressing your humour, so it might be an idea to go back and express why you're dissatisfied, assuming you are. Pup 09:10 17 Feb '11

I agree. That message is bound to cause trouble. And we don't want anymore trouble, now do we?--Iwillkillyou 333 TALK What's it like to be a heretic? 21:54, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

She's free to discuss this with me here, email or on the IRC. The reasons are simple - they involve catty comments about myself in forums which have stopped feeling like jokes but more just nasty comments or behavior which I don't really like around here - some less obvious, but yesterday for instance, flooding VFD yesterday has a consequence for not only myself but for people Lyrithya would call friends like Cheif. She's not that dim - I haven't closed the door as it were, but I think she needs to maybe come back to on exactly what she means and the comments and actions she does.--Sycamore (Talk) 07:34, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

Am I? That's the funny thing, Sycamore... in a way, you have closed the door already; when you came to my talkpage the other day only to essentially tell me to 'go away; you're out of line', what was I supposed to think? And when you did not respond to my invitation to elaborate, why would I come here and press the issue? But then PotR saved me the consternation and you did respond.
Mind, you're right about the comments - most have been largely meaningless, but even those it is easy to go too far. And while it excuses nothing, I have also grown somewhat irritated with your tendency to misinterpret things... that along with the whole VFDing categories dealy, add those and I have definitely gone too far, for which I can only apologise, as I have been unfair to you. Sorry about that; I will try to be less of an arse in the future.
On the other hand, speak for yourself. I do not know what your standards for behaviour are, but in a way, you have been doing much the same. Going around accusing people of vague and nondescript things, making comments about them being out of line, of being group-minded or uncivil or belligerent or what-have-you, is that really so different? Going to my talkpage the way you did, what was your intent? I know this may be a lot to ask, but please, stop taking things so personally from others, especially if you are going to do rather similar. We have enough pointless drama as it is.
As for 'flooding VFD', that was a joke, plain and simple, and I am hardly the only one around here to use joke edit summaries. Granted, some can be quite irritating (oops), but is this really the sort that sets off vandalism flags? Why, if someone was actually flooding VFD, would they announce it in the summary? Either way, a look at the page itself would verify - in this case that I only added the pages that went with the template I had added previously. For that matter, Olipro had closed some of the nominations already there so that I could add a pile, though by the time I got around to it, Zombiebaron had closed even more... so how is that flooding? In the future, could you please look more closely before you jump to conclusions? Uncyclopedia is not a place for taking things at face value; it's part of why I'm here. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 19:10, 21 February 2011
Okay, in the interest of killing this drama, both of you have had a say, there's been accusations of dickishness both ways, and there's been an apology and explanation. I'm calling an end to it out of interest of the wiki. Neither of you have any reason to hold a grudge, and both of you should know better - the best way to deal with a user that you're annoyed with is to avoid them and not rise to the bait. So call it a truce, bury any hatchets, and if there are any unresolved issues then just let them go - life is too short to get peeved over comments made on a comedy wiki. Pup 09:42 21 Feb '11
Or we could claw each other's eyes out. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 21:52, 21 February 2011
Only if you're both wearing two-pieces and in a wading pool full of porridge. Pup 10:16 21 Feb '11
I'm happy to go along with Puppy here - I did not know that you were harbouring such dissent against myself. Again I think we're running into the big problem on here is that open disagreement (or building a constructive relationship around this) is not really allowed or encouraged on the wiki, so we end up with veiled animosity and drama such as we're seeing here. You'd be surprised that this kind of feud is unique to this site for myself.
It's fine to disagree with me or anyone else, just remember that there's someone on a computer that has just as much right to waste there lives. It's really not worth the hassle over these issues or indeed a silly comedy website. Do wish wish to make friends with me with this in mind, or do you wish to take that break off from myself that we're at between us?:)--Sycamore (Talk) 08:33, February 22, 2011 (UTC)
I'll start making the porridge. Pup 11:55 22 Feb '11
I'll grease up the caber... -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
Honestly, I really don't have that much against you; most people here have... well, issues. Inanities are pretty much to be expected, and are generally pretty easily worked around and/or ignored, though some less so than others. It's when someone starts jumping to conclusions and making roundabout accusations and telling me I need to leave, that's when I'm inclined to suspect there might be a little more going on. And it's also a little irritating when it's of things said someone does as well, or things that just ain't true, you know?
But why do that at all? Even if someone is a troll, there's no need to point it out to other people... that in of itself is trolling, in a way.
At any rate, as I never really did quite understand what friends are, I'll just say 'eeeeh?', offer you a dead ferret, hide in this juniper, and wonder if there are any rubber trees around. You folks can't tell the difference between normal cabers and rubber tree cabers, right? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 16:26, 22 February 2011

Well young man, not to worry. I read it, the quotes from the songs made me laugh out loud. Hoasis! --ShabiDOO 23:22, February 24, 2011 (UTC)

So would you agree with the assessment that too many on the site are too concerned with deleting?

Just wondering if you're noticing what I am. Also, mind holding the CW? I'm pretty sure my probation officer doesn't want me to do it. MegaPleb Dexter111344 Complain here 20:30, February 26, 2011 (UTC)

Agree with first point - though I maintain a broader issue surrounds that. Second point, sure, but I need all the details of what to do. Third - suggest finding out for a fact what your probation is on CW (Conservation week right?) before handing it over to me - if you want to do it. Also you've got a really nice rack and I'm in the mood for a tit wank:)?--Sycamore (Talk) 22:27, February 26, 2011 (UTC)
Well, I remember being told I was no longer allowed to organize CW when all that unpleasant shit went down, but it's fairly simple: 1. Pick two weeks for it to happen, 2. Have an admin put up a site notice (Mordillo usually draws out this one with a few trees on it, but anybody can design it), 3. Try to get people to participate, and 4. Once the forenight is over, read the entries and judge (you don't have to give in-depth reviews - I never did) how many rewrites each person gets done. Then you award the two people with the most rewrites with this template. Pretty simple, but most people here are just too lazy to ever do it themselves since many are just "DELETEDELETEDEL33T!" If there are any rewrites that really stick out at you, feel free to nominate them for feature. Also, you are able to enter in your own rewrites, but I recommend getting somebody else to look over them just to avoid any conflict of interest. yes, agree --ShabiDOO 15:55, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

I figured I'd come here rather than talk on the forum. I know that there are some elements who are focused on the removal of garbage more than the creation of new. I sit somewhere in the middle - I rarely vote on VFD or nominate on VFD unless I really can't see a point in trying to redeem something. There are exceptions, of course, where I'll put something up and say that it has promise but I'm not going to pursue the rewrite or polish, but that's using VFD to try and save something rather then destroy it. And I wasn't really criticizing you for lack of creativity - but there are others who would agree with the sentiment of what you were saying, but are also notorious for kvetching rather than creating. I'm actually happy that you keep contributing, and if you do decide to leave I'll be dissappointed - too many creative writers leave here when they need to be applauded. So in short, I agree with you in principle, but feel that you may be looking at things in a little too cynical a fashion.

Now, as to the reason why I wandered in here. I've noticed thatthere are a few n00bs who are making their first fledgling attempts at writing and have put stuff up for review. I'm worried that the results if the reviews are going to be less than supportive. I was wondering if you'd be kind enough to throw your weight onto a few of these and give some encouraging reviews? AAN has lost almost all of its impetus, so this is the next best way that we can formally support new blood. CW would also be a plus - especially if we can add a Certificate of appreciation award for users < 3 months who have jumped in and lent a hand. I intend to not compete this time around, so happy to support you with that where needed. I'd also probably ask Lythieya for some help with new graphics for it. The current look of it is a little dated, and as we have her around and happy to help out with some fantastic coding and potato chopping, as well as being generally supportive, it might be an idea to utilize her.

I really need to learn to express myself in much shorter blocks of text. Pup 02:15 27 Feb '11

I agree with what you are saying - VFD a valuable tool, but its use has become less ideal in the past few months/years. Personally the issues on the site in life and on the site are becoming an issue - so we'll see, as for helpng noobs I'm unsire how much AAN has ever done, for myself people just turned up on my userpage and gave assistance or they waded in and made my articles better - but I think anything that helps new contributers is a good thing. Also your big blocky text is a shit to read:)--Sycamore (Talk) 08:22, February 27, 2011 (UTC)
AAN is okay - worked well with a few users, but when an adopted leaves the site the adoptees tend to go as well, and vice versa. So it's a mixed bag, but I don't think it's really helpful. That, and it tends to create cliques. I wouldn't know personally - no-one adopted me. :( Pup 08:59 27 Feb '11
No one officially adopted me, but Mhaille may as well have. It's one of the many reasons why I'm against many policies or any buraucratic structures on here:)--Sycamore (Talk) 15:44, February 27, 2011 (UTC)
Uncyclopedia:Zombiebaron's Imagery Extra Va Gan Za finishes on the 14th April, so did you want to run CW from 18th April - 1st May? I can't remember what other competitions we should have around that time, but I'd like to do the article in an hour competition again somewhere in May. Pup 11:13 27 Feb '11
That sounds like a pretty good date to me... I'll knock the forum up soon about CW - and that's the kind of time I was thinking:-)--Sycamore (Talk) 07:40, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

So you're a poopsmith

Just for clarification, if I find an article with an expired fix tag that is clearly in a huffable state do I take it to VFD or QVFD? I put Ghede Punaniman on VFD just to be safe, because it seemed in between VFD and QVFD to me Turns out it hasn't been 30 days since February 15th (I swear it said January when I saw it officer) , but if I should just go straight to QVFD in the future that would be nice to know. Thanks in advance. Jackofspades (talk) 09:15, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

If you ever see a page with an expired tag (which, let me tell you, is highly unlikely because we have a team of highly trained professionals checking for expired tags around the clock) you should report it on my talkpage for immediate deletion. I'm sure that's exactly what Sycamore was going to tell you to do. -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 10:42, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

Poopsmith question

Perhaps I'm just being daft again, but when a thing is kept on VFD... the oldvfd says 'the result of the discussion was...' but a lot of the time the reason they're kept is because the discussion wasn't resolved. Is the 'result of the discussion' just whatever the admin decides, then, regardless of how sensible it may be? What we're doing is putting it away after they make the decisions, no? Not that it changes anything, but I guess I'm just asking because I'm somewhat confused at.. er... the wording...

Am I just being an idiot? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 09:00, 6 March 2011

You're just being an idiot, go and find something worthwhile to worry about. --ChiefjusticePSX 09:16, March 6, 2011 (UTC)

I think the idea is that discussions that serve no purpose can be closed without having 'debate' - I think its fine, you seem to be doing alright with it, while I can have a some space right now to explode with dissertation angst. All is well then...;)--Sycamore (Talk) 18:55, March 6, 2011 (UTC)

It's sort of a silly field any way you look at it, because if the oldvfd template is being used, it means that the result of the discussion was that the article was kept. Tinymasaru.gifpillow talk 19:54, March 6, 2011 (UTC)
Is it silly like AIDS, or silly like your hostile 'takeover' of a comedy wiki for month silly?;)--Sycamore (Talk) 20:16, March 6, 2011 (UTC)
It's his stupid takeover that caused me to get confused in the first place. For some reason it seemed like a good idea to just close one myself, but then putting on the template, it was just... huuuh? But right. Too much thinking. Just templates. Right. Yeah. Thanks. >.< 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 20:39, 6 March 2011
Do you think you could be becoming a Templasexual, and are fetishizing the policy elements for your own sick gratification?--Sycamore (Talk) 20:28, March 7, 2011 (UTC)
Quite possibly. Do these templates and policies involve boobs? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 20:32, 7 March 2011
I would not know myself, though there's always a fishy smell from those that are into that sort of thing...--Sycamore (Talk) 20:34, March 7, 2011 (UTC)
That doesn't seem so much like boobs as... er... oh, gods. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 01:44, 8 March 2011

Science Fiction Thanks From the Alien Deviants at Imperial Colonization

Not such a long time ago, in a wiki not so far, far away, you voted for Science fiction. You voted for it to go where Science fiction had not gone before. Never mind logic, or physics, or even common sense. With your vote, and the votes of alien time-and-space travelers like you, you sent the shining, chrome and steel article where it was destined to go:
To Infinity--and Beyond!
Compassrose IC Buccaneer Admiral WHY??? (stratagems)  06:20, March 9, 2011 (UTC)

The response you asked for

Long, long before the idea of "temporary adminship" was a twinkle in rcmurphy's eye, you made it perfectly clear that you don't like me and don't much care for my writing for that matter, either. I can't exactly remember why anymore - we must have butted heads on something, at some point (maybe on Don't vote for my dog!?) - but I think that's exactly what's going on, here. If Mhaille had said "Fine, let's go ahead and remove ancient cruft from userpages," you wouldn't have batted an eye - you might have even been part of the project. So, I think that any decision I make as an admin is going to be unpopular with you, simply because you don't think I should be spending any time as an admin and I shouldn't be making any decisions. And, believe it or not, I'm okay with that.

I'm hardly charging ahead making vast unilateral changes. And I'm doing my absolute best to take other people's concerns into account - particularly, Aleister's caution not to touch active users' spaces and not to delete anything that isn't a category or template, and Lyri's caution that sometimes pages in userspace belong in categories. They had something constructive to add, and they were right. I don't know what you really have to add, other than that you think I suck. Which isn't particularly constructive.

As Mattlobster pointed out, taking categories off of the userspaces of people who aren't even here anymore has - how'd he put it - "less impact to the universe than using Mr Muscle to polish a single grain of sand." This is literally about the smallest administrative decision I could have possibly made; ultimately, its effect will be that one or two people will notice that the categories look better, and perhaps one or two users will come back and say "Oh, I have to put my userpage back the way it was." It's bizarre that you've chosen this particular decision as your basis for marching around City Hall holding a picket sign. Tinymasaru.gifpillow talk 18:47, March 12, 2011 (UTC)

I am very sorry indeed to here you view this as personal, I do actually like you, I give you nicknames/added you to my facebook/complemented quite a few of your articles. The reason for me being so frank, is because of this - I don't feel the need to pad you out, you are in all likelihood covered in that area;) Last week I actually asked you for your opinions on one of my articles, those are not the actions of someone who out and out dislikes you.

My major gripe here is that what is (and you are correct here) a minor policy opens the door to OCD editing of other people's userspaces. I have articles that have been categorized but have not been mainspaced, and by the same token a lot of people really don't like there backyard being messed about by what are likely to be people who don't really have a clue, and by the same token, not really big on contributing to this community. It’s just against the spirit of the site, and referring back to my post, it has more place on Wikipedia. You are talking to a dour Scotsman, we like burning tires, chucking used fridges outside and setting up cage fights with our children and dogs in our back gardens. But nobody likes there own private space being tinkered about with.

It's simply a bad idea, and so petty at the same time. Sadly as I've said, I don't think either yourself or the other temp admins are really what this site needs, and I don't think any of you are really great candidates because of the tendency to view these privileges as a mandate (or a ‘proof/validation’), as opposed to a gesture of trust. Again please take a Haggis and a good morning, see you about:)--Sycamore (Talk) 06:58, March 13, 2011 (UTC)

What is this?! You like Hyperbole? That means you like people! How could you?! And here I thought you were like me, hating everyone unilaterally... I thought we could have had something, Sycamore... we could have had something! Except you're not hateful enough. I can't believe this. This... oh, gods, my heart is crushed. And yes, I know that makes no sense. But love never does. Or something. *mumbles* 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 23:30, 13 March 2011
Sorry I haven't responded in so long - I've been busy with work, and it doesn't help that Dragon Age 2 just came out. Leaving aside all other issues for now, I'll just say: Syc, obviously no one's ever going to go recategorizing the articles you have in userspace. Everyone here understands that your userspace is sacred.
But the userspace of User:Superpokyfan is not. Take a look at his contributions: he's worthless to this project. He was here for one week in late 2009, and what he did was to make one (1) mainspace edit (which was reverted), to create one (1) Game page (which was deleted), and to copy and paste seven other users' userpages onto his userpage.
That's the kind of guy at issue here - Mn-z's right to have clean categories trumps Superpokyfan's right to a sacred userspace. I know there's some merit to the idea of "treat everyone equally." But, bottom line, Sycamore should not be treated equally to Superpokyfan. Sycamore's userspace is sacred and every user, admin or otherwise, understands that we must not touch it. As for Superpokyfan - fuck him.
If someone represented on UN:HS went inactive for a full year, I hope people would have enough discretion not to fuck with their stuff. But, so far, I haven't been able to find a single well-known user who's gone inactive who also has a userpage full of category cruft. (Frankly, our good users just don't fill their userspaces with category cruft.)
Bottom line: I don't think this is affecting any actual writers or Uncyclopedians who have put any real work into the project. This has just been the cleanup of hit-and-run users who popped in, dirtied things up, used their userspace like a sandbox, and never came back. Tinymasaru.gifpillow talk 16:43, March 14, 2011 (UTC)
Either way, userspace articles with reasonable categories for what the articles are and are about ain't category cruft, regardless of how dead the user may or may not be. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 17:09, 14 March 2011
That depends on whether the articles are reasonably complete and coherent. If we'd normally VFD or QVFD something, but for the fact that it's in userspace, it really shouldn't be categorized. Tinymasaru.gifpillow talk 19:28, March 14, 2011 (UTC)
For example User:Hyperbole/Something I wrote to piss off Gerry really shouldn't be in Category:Lyrithya. It just shouldn't. Tinymasaru.gifpillow talk 19:30, March 14, 2011 (UTC)

Hey there, well I think it would be a good idea for your article to be moved to to User:Sub Zero/Sub Zero - the idea being you can finish it without the crazies on VFD harassing you whilst you are writing it (and give you back your talk page). Its been the wish you leave you to complete it for now I think. The nomination should be closed because the article is basically new and get back in touch if their are any problems. Hope this helps and good luck editing:-)--Sycamore (Talk) 09:59, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

PooLit question

A ruling, kind judge. I've had an idea for a page for a long time but haven't written word one on it, not even a note of any kind. I have collected pictures for the article though, off and on as I've found them on the site. Would the page qualify? If it does it would get me off my butt to write the thing, or at least get it started and down the road. Either yes or no is alright, but if you need to ask me questions for a ruling I'll submit to some with my lawyer present. Thanks. Aleister 00:11 18 1 '11

Eh, I'm in a similar situation - have a page I've been meaning to write for months, haven't actually written a word of it save for notes (currently has all of the dialogue written down word-for-word from one of the characters from the movie in question on the page, some formatting, pictures without captions, and nothing I've written myself) - would I be able to actually write that for this? Although why am I even asking? I meant to do it for TAW and I still haven't; why the hell would I get around to it now? Bloody hell. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 00:20, 18 January 2011
We can collab on both our unwritten pages, and then draw our names from a hat to see which one of us gets which page. Is your unwritten page up to 2,000 words as yet? Mine has been a houseguest for a few months, is in the habit of going around nude with its commas hanging out, and is taking up with a neighbor. Aleister 00:24 18-1-'11
Er, no... I haven't written any of it. *bursts into tears* So yours has content? I like this potential swapper idea... 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 06:04, 18 January 2011
Preferably don't tell me you've written something beforehand... but yeah, whatever urges you have. I'd advise writers to really push the boat out, and Aleister, I know you can do better than cutting and pasting a few images onto a blank page:) Also good morning to the both of you fatherfuckers.--Sycamore (Talk) 09:41, January 18, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, and no, I haven't written a word or actually done more than have the title and some pics stored and some unsolid ideas. What I do is try not to think of a page until I'm writing it, things flow too quick to anticipate. I'm not looking forward to this one, because it's a semi-major work, but Poo Lit gives me a deadline which is probably what I needed to get into it. So thanks, I guess. No, I cannot do better than a few imges onto a blank page, that is the height of art. Tell that to Picasso, run that past Alex Grey, tell them not to put a few images on a page. Oh well, OK, I'll find some words too. And how did you know about my ongoing affair with my father? Nobody knows about that. Do you have witches and psychics in your family? I won't tell Dad that you know, he warned me never ever to discuss our liasons, our beautiful evenings together. And our three-ways with grandpa! Aleister 2:34 19-1-'11

Sycamore, Ive been going around creating more doodles on the PLS page having no clue what im doing. I entered the rewrite category with the maxipad article. Hyperbole seemed to think I wanted to enter the noob article (or maybe thats my mystake) claiming that original text existed (which it did) from earlier versions. Good question then. For a re-write, are there any common sense guidelines as to how much of the original articles text, structure, images you can use/keep? Thanks for helping out a noob (though not officialy allowed to enter the noob category). --Shabidoo 00:48, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

Not sure what the problem is, Hype should not be moving your stuff. As for re-writes, you should use waht you feel is good about the previous article and integrate it into your new version. Obviously judges will weight heavily against people who have done less original work in writing their articles. I'd advise keeping things such as good images rather than content. Hope this helps:-)--Sycamore (Talk) 08:56, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

Quick(ish) question

I've been rewriting this, and had a question or two. I wondered if I could run them past you, as someone whose opinion I actually value. I'm not looking for a review or anything in any kind of depth here, very short answers will do. 1. Does the concept work? 2. Is it too obvious? 3. Do you think it needs a lot more work, or is it getting close to a decent article? I reckon you should need no more than about ten words to answer those, if you'd be so good... --UU - natter UU Manhole 13:29, Jan 27

  1. Yes
  2. Slightly, its somehwat unexplained who the two speakers are, but not too glaring. Not in opposition enough maybe...
  3. Reckon its on the home stretch
  4. By valueing my opinion you only degrade you own credibility and judgement. Even I look down on you as pure scum now for it.

In like your article, nice to see you writing stuff;)--Sycamore (Talk) 13:42, January 27, 2011 (UTC)

Fame and stardom

Good sir, would you be so good as to share with me, and by extension the greater Uncyclopedia community, your feelings about the PLS at this stage of the competition? Have you enjoyed running it? What is your impression of the entries? Who do you think will win/has won? Are there too many Kilt shops on the Royal Mile? Answers to any/all of these questions will probably be copied and pasted into the UnSignpost more or less intact. Cheers. --ChiefjusticePSX 15:41, February 7, 2011 (UTC)

So far, things have gone pretty well with PLS. I've enjoyed reading many of the entries, and the quality has been very impressive - hopefully we'll see some great features from some very good new and old writers. As far as my personal experience goes, its been a challange here and there - with some people wanting stuff thats simply not feasible, capricious judges or general oversight to make sure special Uncyclopedians aren't walking into wall or playing with their feces (a risk with several contributers). Overall I think I've been great and any problems have been someone elses fault.
As for the Edinburgh thing, I don't think you can have too many Kilt shops for English people to wear at weddings or American's to take something back to their home that isn't a stab wound or criminal conviction.--Sycamore (Talk) 17:18, February 7, 2011 (UTC)

Well hi again

Hey, it`s me, Cat the Colourful, and I am the writer of Okami. I saw from the history, that you have made the "Construction" thing on my page, and it looks so dirty. Would you remove it or read the article. I want it off. Cat the Colourful (Feed Me!!!)Leave me alone... Sleeping Cat 06:28, February 10

I would say it's a pretty weak piece of work as it stands. I added the constuction by way of giving you a better chance to finish it as opposed to an ICU which one of the more loveable Uncyclopedian's would have added (hence I've been nice to you adding a tag which you should have added yourself). You can remove it yourself, since it was a favour on my part that been repaid with rude demand.--Sycamore (Talk) 10:49, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

It's me. You better start hiding now.

I'm that guy you talked to for a while on the Talk Page for Uncyclopedia. I've decided to write one last article (that is, my 2nd) before I get an account (if it doesn't work out, I probably will). It's called Teen Pop. I also added a sheepish plea to give the article a chance on the Talk Page. So please, give the article a chance, or support it, or something. I just want it to be a lasting article. It just needs a little love and acceptance. I also like seeing what other people think of my work. But like I said, if it doesn't work out, it's not the end of me. I'll probably get an account and give my articles a permanent loving home if Teen Pop gets huffed. Thanks. :) 14:50, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

Looks OK, very good early effort - the trick is to keep working on it to give it that finished edge. There are some handy tips here HTBFANJS, UN:RTFM, User:Sycamore/Sycamore's Newbie Guide. You can also submit your article for a review, just to get some tips and ideas here: UN:PEE. Just havng a skim though myself, I think you need to define Teen Pop more, for instance many of the acts listed are not exclusive to the teen audience, there could be some amusing angles on arrested development etc. Did I tell you about getting an account yet!? - Then you can upload an image, or make one if you have the knowhow, usually when you have a fairly decent article with images etc, you'll probably end up with the one after being on its way to feature quality - I always remember my first feature, and it's a good feeling when people like your work and rate it highly enough to put t on the front page. I spoke about getting an account didn't I?;)--Sycamore (Talk) 16:31, June 15, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, get an account, blah blah blah. If this doesn't work out, I probably will. Maybe you could add some pictures. I'm not terribly good at editing photos and things like that. My work would just look trashy. Plus... I don't really have any ideas. Thanks for the compliments, though! You said I should define teen pop more, and I just got an idea to describe teen pop songs as bieng filled with secret subliminal messages. I can't think of any examples I could add, though. I'll work on it. I also like people giving my stuff star ratings. :) 17:09, June 15, 2011 (UTC)
UPDATE: I just added quite a few more things to the article. I think they turned out fairly well. And give it an honest star rating, if you want to. :) 18:44, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

Well, it's that annoting twerp who's constantly pestering you about that Teen Pop article that recently succumbed to its own poor spirit. Like I rant about on my userpage, the computer wouldn't allow me to get the username I originally wanted, [super*cool*alternate*grammar], so I was wondering how to alter one's username, like yours, or MR9000's, or basically anyone on here except me. But I don't want to just make my name all colorful and stuff, I want to alter the taxt so it reads "[super*cool*alternate*grammar]", instead of the user I got stuck with, "Alternate*grammar". How do you do that? :) Alternate*grammar 14:49, July 1, 2011 (UTC)

My signature is edited on a subpage like so User:Sycamore/sig - it is then add in my preferences as {{SUBST:nosubst|user:sycamore/sig}} and then ticking the box and saving. Wikipedia links

Au-da-cious. Great link, and educational too. Anyway, I came here to mention that the easist way to link to wikipedia is just to type in "wikipedia:Animal Farm|Animal Farm" or whatever you want. You may know that though. All that http and www stuff is just waster keystrokes (and never waste a key!). You have some interesting stuff on your talkpage, I should wander over for lunch more often. Ah - no more copy+paste! My userpage is better, lots of funny articles, some needing nominations on VFH;)--Sycamore (Talk) 09:23, February 24, 2012 (UTC)
I wonder if a lot of people don't know how easy it is to link to wikipedia. I'll forum it, and see if anyone else has little tricks that others might not know about. Oh, on VFH, now everyone is encouraged to be free as a bird and nom some of their own stuff that they know is feature-worthy (I wish Romartus would do that, the roman probably has 20 pages so ready to go that we can have a Romartus month). I've got a couple almost ready, and two or three others on user pages that I smack some paint on sometimes. Then a challenge comes out of the blue sometimes, which needs more work. Ah, onto the forum! Aleister 16:34 25-2-'12
Linking to wikipedia helps to fill out Uncyclopedia's blanks where the chance of anyone writing an article are pretty zero (and if they do, it's a good chance it is crap). That is why slots like Angelina Jolie remain red links or diverts. Lindsay Lohan still looks like an incomplete page filler. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 19:44, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
Linking into the site we parody is probably not a good idea unless it's something specific.--Sycamore (Talk) 21:52, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
Even though we are parody, just like any good satire I try to give data out as well. Find the "secret" educational paragraph in here and win no prize. And Romartus, I hope you saw my comment ahead of yours and start nomming some of your good pages. Aleister 21:56 25-2-'12
I think in full Tony Blair mode we've drifted off topic and need to start a focus group on featuring as many of my articles as possible...--Sycamore (Talk) 22:01, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
Given I also float around there, I don't agree. They would appreciate more links to their content - it helps with their SEO - and we theoretically parody not just their subjects, but the entire site. More links is better. Oh, and if you use the pipe trick - [[:Wikipedia:Some topic|]] - it takes whatever is after the last column and magically inserts it after the pipe, so it shows as Some topic. Also FU edit conflict. Pup 10:02 25 Feb '12
Nom a couple of ones you think are features. Yay Sycamore more features. And Puppy, get that extra half-feature up there too, we need another 30-something. Yay Puppy. And since we are whoring, go read again and again James Bevel, the only page I've whored in a long time. One of the satirical points about the page is that it gives more information about Bevel than almost anyplace else on the web or in the history books. In the Gandhi and King pages we knock them a little, while in the Bevel piece I build him up directly in the face of the misinformation about him in other depositories of knowledge (wikipedia's page is pretty good, in some ways ours here is better and has more content about the movement years), so in that way it's another level of satire (call it anti-satire satire). Anyway, whoring done. Aleister 22:11 25-2-'12

Al, I mentioned something to Black Flamingo on the pop-up images on The exorcist. You may want to change the <font color="blue">text</font> to {{fakelink|text}} so it works on an iPhone browser, as well as giving the "right" look for users with custom links in their CSS. Plus, I like it better. And <font> is outdated code. Pup 09:41 26 Feb '12

I noticed that you liked this. I did also so I put it onto VFH. So did you write that one, or did I? I can't remember? Anyway I'm obviously just here to whore this link, so I will leave you to be raped by Barry White. MrN Icons-flag-gb HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png Fork you! 21:09, Apr 6

I sadly can't claim credit, some user just wrote that one and then vanished. It's very nice little article. Also congrats on winning WoTM - The British invasion continues...--Sycamore (Talk) 09:17, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

Incontinence (philosophy)

Slight revert. The wikipediapar template was there because it was a spork, and because there is a WP page with the same name, as much as I have trouble believing it. (It could probably have been a {{wikipedia}} but I had it there from when it was in my user space.)                               Puppy's talk page09:56 10 Apr

Lee Harvey Oswald, who has nice thread I'll link to the page, once said "Crackerjack got me through the tough times in the snipers nest. Buy crackerjack." Howdy Mr. Tree

I see you sweeping up after vandals all the time, so I figured you might find this forum of interest. There's a vote, and everything.

By-the-bye, did I ever mention that I like sycamores? Not really sure why. I think it might be that The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is one of my favorite books, and a piece of sycamore bark figures prominently in one of its chapters. When I read that book as a nine-year-old, I had no idea what a sycamore was. And then, years later, I realized that I'd been living down the block from a century-old sycamore tree for most of my life, without even knowing what it was, or really even appreciating it.

And then they cut that goddamned tree down.

For the last three years, I've lived in a duplex with a parking lot behind it, and at the other end of that parking lot was a cottonwood. It kept the house cool in the afternoons. And then, this spring, they came and cut the damn thing down.

When I was a kid, there was this monstrous willow tree I liked to hang out in at Washington Park, right by the lake. I swung back by there a few years ago, and the tree was gone. The bastards cut it down.

Anyway, I like trees.

Also, this Black Strap Rum is terrible. Don't ever buy it. Too damned sweet and burnt. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-usWed, Apr 25 '12 7:17 (UTC)

Hey cheers dude. Good thing about trees is there's always more.--Sycamore (Talk) 10:50, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
