Hello, Siddhartha-Wolf, and a very good afternoon/morning/evening to you. Thank you for deciding to sign up to Uncyclopedia and I hope you wish to stay. If not, all you have to do is chew through your own fingers and retrieve the key from your eye to escape. Before doing anything though, may I suggest you read the following links?

I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Button sig) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Siddhartha-Wolf/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well. A good idea before doing any writing for here would be to read (thurougly) HTBFANJS.

If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Browse our list of available mentors, and leave them a message on their talk page. Again, welcome!

SP-Orian57

Now that's all the official stuff out the way why not also visit some of these other useful links:

  • Pee Review -- should you decide to write something it may be an idea to put it up for review. Reviews are a requirement of you wish to self-nominate an article for highlight but also is a good way of gauging how good your writing is and how you can improve it (if need be). Also if you choose to do a review for someone else at the same time be sure to read the Pee Review Guidlines.
  • Userboxes are a fun way of decorating your user page and conveying information about yourself (like if your a girl or gay or whatever) but are by no means necessary, and you are not obliged to tell us anything about you if you don't want to. In fact a user page isn't necessary but they can be fun, look at other people's user pages for ideas.
  • Also there are a few cults around here and user space pages that you can join in with that are good for making connections with people (But again aren't obligatory).

Do seriously visit my talk page if you have any additional questions or even if you'd just like to say "hi", I don't bite, honest.

Filmmakers/Advice

Hi. The thing to do, when writing a film (or any) article, is to establish a consistent feel and angle to the piece, and stick with it. Once you're able to do that, you should be golden.

Also, I'm glad you like my articles on directors so much. You're now the second new user to come about and write something because of similar things I've written, which is, needless to say, a bit flattering.

I should also mention that your article prompted me to check out Mr. Crazy Austrian Guy, as I was unfamiliar with him prior. I now have Funny Games downloaded, and am looking to watch it sometime soon.

If you want, I'll review your article when it's finished, though you'll have to let me know. Good luck with the writing!

I see. Well, whenever your done with the current draft of the article, let me know, and I'll look it over for ya in Pee. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 17:30, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
Sounds good to me. I'm glad you're a fan of basically everything I've ever written haha. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 04:55, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
I saw Funny Games, that was freaking scary. ~~Sir Fightstar Rocks! CUN 00:03, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
American or Austrian, LL3? I haven't seen the American version yet, the Austrian was pretty decent, not my favourite of his though... should probably give it another watch sometime --El Sid 19:16, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
American. It also happens to be the only Haneke film I have seen, ever. Also, I'm really likin' how well it's coming. If you just apply better formatting, like with getting rid of redlinks and such it could be feature. Also, I'm nomming you for NotM next month. ~~Sir Fightstar Rocks! CUN 23:09, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi

Good to meet you. You assume correctly that I am from good old Leeds, the edge of Alwoodley as it happens.

With regard to crossword, yeah the author would need to do a bit more to gain my vote for VFH, there are some amusing one liners in it but a couple of problems.

Also, have you been making contributions to the Leeds article? As I am currently battling against a sea of IP's who keep blanking/vandalising/ruining the article. If you have any ideas for it then I would be happy to hear them or help implement them as the article has been in such a sorry state for such a long time I'm not sure who the original author is anymore, so I'm looking after it now. If you have any ideas please share because I'm considering shoving the article into VFD and restarting it from scratch, there are mountains that are older than that rewrite template. --ChiefjusticeDS 18:38, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

I DUZ A NOMINATIONZ. LOL.

But seriously, I nominated Durer for VFH, go vote. ~~Sir Fightstar Rocks! CUN 23:40, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Leone

A very good review from someone who obviously knows both the subject matter and what they're talking about. I'm going to nominate it for feature, see how it does, and then revise accordingly.

Also, the link that's supposed to go to your talk page doesn't in your sig--fix that.

Thanks for the review.

I fixed it. I made the sig btw. ~~Sir Fightstar Rocks! CUN 01:57, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Cheers LL, hadn't noticed it was broken. Thanks Guildy, it is a very good article, was hard to criticise without being pedantic really, the ending was the only bit I thought might have been better but then I don't know how to make it better. I think by that point I was just expecting another stroke of genius and for me it just fell short of it. I mean it does sum up an important aspect of Leone's SpagWesterns, but I thought there might be a slightly absurd finale, even like a doctored picture of Leone himself finishing them all off. I know this doesn't fit your style though, so ignore my pedantry --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 08:42, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

PEE

Hey, just thought I would drop by and say thanks for the sterling work on PEE review, it is always much appreciated by the writers and the other reviewers. No problem, it's a good way of remaining active in the Uncyclopedia community while I'm quite frustrated by my lack of inspiration elsewhere. I will finish that article btw, I'm just a bloody perfectionist and I'm dreading going through the ironing-out stage when I do actually finish the first draft. --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 21:27, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'll take some of your advice into consideration. However, you thing I have a question about is how I would include an interview/newspaper clipping/etc into the article. You said you were offering some help, and I'm glad to accept that offer, because some things you mentioned didn't really seam all that clear. However, for the most part it was nice and helpful, so thanks a lot! Staircase CUNt 02:23, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, perhaps the actual newspaper photoshop would be a little ambitious, but you could certainly mention a few headlines, or include a brief section (in the same text format) that is an excerpt from a newspaper (the headline is probably better though). It's not really the most important thing, but if you DID want to be ambitious, you could ask someone to photoshop a headline onto a newspaper and put it in as an image. That might be good, but don't worry about it too much as it's not the most important. Good luck :) --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 08:37, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
So, do you think you could give me a little help with the article? You offered it, and right now I'm not in the best condition tobe writing (Just woke up) so perhaps a bit of help would be handy. Staircase CUNt 15:16, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Sure I can, but not right now, pretty tired myself. Also I'll need at least an hour to get showered, choose my clothes, put my make up on, do my hair get re-acquainted with the article (I'm reviewing another one at the moment so my mind's on that). Also, where are you from? On your page it says South Africa, but isn't it like 6pm in South Africa now? Are you nocturnal?--El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 15:22, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Durer

Hi, I would help you out if I had any ideas. Might come up with some. It' well written now but it seems to need an angle like you say. How about you go for a cheapo with the diary entries: start out with what the entry is supposed to be about, and let him ramble on until you hit gold. It might be something like an obsession, so that all entries start at the point and soon slip on the obsessive side. Would improve the joke if you didn't mention the obsession at all in the main body of the text. By the way - if you later want to make an article about Gustave Dork (not to be confused with Doré), I could provide original images for it. I have a couple of books illustrated by him and I've always wanted a reason to copy his style. Something wacky about the Divine Travesty and Donkey Hot, for instance. -- Style Oranssiviiva Guide 18:23, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Study_of_the_nature_of_male_sexual_orientation - see the footnotes on this one for a possible model for the dairy entries. -- Style Oranssiviiva Guide 19:28, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
All right, please let me know when you wanna start with Gustave Dork. I'm planning of using hours on the images so I kind of hoped you would do most of the writing. I restarted doing art in January and this is a good opportunity to practice. I don't yet have any ideas besides those two. Don Quixote was already a parody on knight romances - a parody of Don Quixote would then be a parody on a parody. Gotta come up with something there. Almost the same thing with Divine Travesty - the original apparently was a satirical piece at the time. What if we moved both up in time, or sent them to another planet? -- Style Oranssiviiva Guide 19:26, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks!

Another quality director article Guildy, keep it up :) --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 22:25, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Dork

Doré basically was a talented draughtsman, I'm not sure if he had the time to mess anything up in his life, being so industrious. He wasn't even criticised a lot if I remember correctly. What if we just made Dork the exact opposite of him? Caravaggio springs to mind as an artist who was always in trouble. Here's an idea though: we can make the article by the name "The life and work of Gustave Dork". We could provide only the minimum of biographical details, for instance making him vanish every few years or so. No explanations given, not trying to figure out where he went. Pointedly so, and it might be funny in itself. If you come up with ideas for scenes from any of his illustrations, I could well start with the images - they always give something to go on with. -- Style Oranssiviiva Guide 11:04, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

How about nonchalant time slips: "He met Alighieri in 1897 in Firenze, and their collaboration on (...) became even more fruitful." -- Style Oranssiviiva Guide 16:48, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Possible dude, and I'm sorry I forgot to respond to your original message, I meant to. Gimme an hour and I'll formulate some kind of worthwhile response--El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 16:49, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
So yeah out of the two options - genuine satire, and ironic tale of absurd chivalry - it seems the only option is the latter (since you're right, there's nothing really to satirise). Ironically, I work better from the pictures (with Durer I almost exclusively based the entire story around the pictures) so what might be best is if we loook over his work and come up with a vague narrative, then skew it slightly and you adapting your pictures to that, does that sound ok?
With a slightly alternative angle, the final irony could be that, despite the fact that he plucked these incredible odysseys left right and center, he was actually bedroom-bound (would have to try to come up with a decent inoffensive justification for this) and his works were the result of a pretty mean opium addiction (perhaps to treat whatever affliction he suffered from). Of course we'd have to avoid being dark and just make it silly. Christ knows, I'm keen on doing it either way, but the problem is always going to be finding the right angle, everything else should come naturally.
The best thing might be just for me to start writing out a narrative using the original method (ignore my alternative), just choosing a few pics and going for it, then getting some more of your pics to reinforce it, make our claims hold out better.--El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 17:52, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

iBauer passed Pee Review with an 8 - how to renominate?

Hi Wolf. The nomination of iBauer is NOW valid because it passed Pee Review with a score of 8. Then I took all the review suggestions and made it 100%. How can it now be nominated when you have put invalid? Please refer Pee Review for very good review. Thanks!!!--Rsbj66 20:37, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

I feel compelled to point out that the PEE on iBauer was not good enough to be considered a valid in-depth review, I'm unsure of the rules regarding VFH nom's in this case. Please refer to Cajek's list for UU's opinion on the review in the maintenance section. My recommendation would be to either seek a second opinion, or nom it for VFH and see what happens. Just thought I would point out that the review you received was not one of our best. This is not a sleight on your work. I'm going now. --ChiefjusticeDS 20:46, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

lol, no problem, as for the reviewing, I'd say I still have a lot to learn - from reading your reviews I can tell that your approach is altogether more holistic than mine. You are well on your way with the reviewing, I kinda just started and it refined itself from there. Eek, yeah, without naming names, there were a few I was very glad to see you - or Sequence/Moosewetrust - pick up. I like doing reviews, but would find it very difficult if I don't feel I'm reviewing someone's best efforts, I mean if it's full of just random, crude, unfunny stuff, I'd be at a loss what to say. Please don't do this...

That isn't how ICU's are done. This article is WAY too old for an ICU (only articles under a week old should be ICU'd). It's bad, yes, but that means it should be on VFD or have a rewrite tag on it. Punk Floyd

I'd actually just changed the intro, though I don't know if it matches what you meant. I'm quite happy to change anything, did you mean to explain that PF were a punk psychadelic band, or something like that?--Sog1970 09:25, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Yes basically, just to give a general summary of what they are and their origins, just like "Punk Floyd were a psych-punk band formed in Cambridge(?) in 1964" (but include more funny if you want, and something like "as the product of one particularly disaffected youth, Roger Vicious, and his whimsical hippy friend, Syd Barrett). Or something, ignore the part in brackets if you want, I just feel at the moment it's as if we're joining a paragraph in mid-flow and it hasn't been set up right .--El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 10:05, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
I've tried again and corrected some spelling, moved the photos even though I generally like them all on the right for some reason - overly anal, perhaps. I think it's better. What do you think? Actually, I didn't think anyone who didn't know the Floyd story backwards would get any of it so I wasn't intending to even ask for a review, but someone nom-ed it anyway, which was nice but unexpected.--Sog1970 10:53, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me about Noob of the Month

Thanks for letting me know I was nominated for Noob of the Month! At least for six hours and six minutes. I'm guessing it was removed because they discovered I snuck in here one day shortly before finals, then came back posting like a mad girl a month and a half later after I moved and went on summer vacation. I know, that technically disqualifies me, doesn't it? (Insert Appropriate Profanity Here). But thanks a brunch! Miley Spears 21:42, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Although I will resubmit this for a second review, I added some images as well as introduction. I suspect that I'll have to add more on the intro later, but what do you think about the images? Well the problem is really just that by nature you won't be able to get the pictures that would make this most effective. It is sadly lacking something without pictures and the pictures that are really needed are action shots (with real people and stuff) just to help draw the reader into it all. But that's obviously near impossible. Since I was happy with the actual text and you have now changed the intro I had a few problems with, the only real advice I can give is the recurring and futile image one, or to get a review from someone who might be able to offer their own two cents (or agree, like me, that it is a damn fine piece of work as it is). Sorry to not be much help. --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 14:52, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

'Lo SW

If you should ever happen to come across any decent articles or quality images related to art and fancy highlighting them on the arts portal, I wouldn't have any reason to object. You can find links to all the relevant templates on my userpage - just replace the content of them with whatever it is you consider worthy. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 14:41, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

'Lo RT, sure I will and thanks for that link, I think I might go through cleaning stuff up later. I set up a vague Art's Journal page so that I can focus things a little too, which I hope can act in tandem with the Art's Portal so that we know where we are with things. I'm interested in doing a grand sweep "History of Art" article at the moment, which would be relatively easier for me, wouldn't rely on repetition too much, could include one-three paragraphs per movement (more for more important ones), and could be like a picaresque through the history of western Art. Perhaps we could have a famous (and opinionated) artist or two as a guide. A bit of banter, what do you think? --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 14:58, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Actually since Art History is generally split between those that consider form (drawing/geometry etc...) to be of utmost importance, and those who believe substance (colour/substance etc...) to be utmost important, one character could represent the former (Raphael perhaps), and one the latter (Monet perhaps) could represent the latter, with someone representing a middle way - Titian maybe. Or it could have one guide, meeting and being introduced to the eras by a representative of the era. Or it could just be me making up stupid crap about each era.--El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 15:05, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
I planned a similar sort of thing in the past - never got round to it though, just like most things I plan. When it's done, it might work quite well as a sort of companion to the portal which could have a large link to it. I looked at your arts journal thing yesterday - be good to see some of those ideas once they're complete. For donating high quality material to the Pee Review.

And not just because you gave me a good score, although I appreciate that, but because you gave me advice I could actually work with. And taught me two new words... the second one was "kerching" which makes so much more sense when you actually have it right phonetically.

The only thing I have left to struggle with now is a substitute for the word Dick... which is going to end up making me rewrite the entire damned article. Pup t 00:13, 9/08/2009

Yeah, sorry about that, "dick" just doesn't carry for me, it doesn't make me think you hate him enough, it's more like a mild nuisance word... "fuckjacket"... well... I don't know why I came up with that one, it just sounds like the kind of thing one (I) would say as a spontaneous expression of extreme annoyance. Obviously it's not a real word, but you don't need a real word, just something to express how much of an absolute cockvarnisher this person is. Of course a complete rewrite isn't needed (you were joking, right?), just go through alternative expressions that could have the right effect and you'll get there.--El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 00:19, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
Actually is it a guy or a girl? It would work better if it were a girl. I hate to appear to empathise with that "art" but it seems more feminine than masculine, as does most of your description of it. So would that affect the final exclamation too? --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 00:21, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
That's mainly because when I think of male post-modernists, I generally think large conceptual art like Damien Hirst (sharks in big vats) or even bigger conceptual art like Anish Kapoor (big installations in the Tate). Not little conceptual art like this.--El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 00:23, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
I've tried to keep it fairly gender neutral, but to get the voice right I spent a fair bit of time bouncing around from one art critique to another on-line, and a significant amount of the reviews were written from a female perspective, so that has probably crept through, but at the same time there are definite male overtones. (If you haven't looked yet, it has become "Phallus" by the way, although I'm still not sold on it.) Oh, and as for the pictures, I was at an exhibition launch for a friend of a friend (who works almost exclusively with oil on canvas, and more modern than post-modern in style, but that's all as an aside) and this was the exhibit in the next room. The first photo is one of the viewing spaces (there were a couple more) and the five photos of individual pieces are/is the one piece from five different angles. Pup t 00:46, 9/08/2009
And finally re the font. Good idea but given the issues that I've had with font faces on web-pages before and different translations from different computers, I don't want to ruin the textual joke by obscuring it with a visual one. Pup t 00:52, 9/08/2009

Cool, thanks, what I need is for the letters HANEKE (which is an acronym in an article I am writing) to be turned into a rather amusing-yet-realistic term for a fictitious doomsday device developed by the Nazis. It must fit around the (rather loose and messy) concept I have begun to develop in my article on Michael Haneke. Thank you very much. :)
Btw it can be a phrase with each letter corresponding to a word - Hxxx Axxxx Nxxx etc... - or any other kind of combination you think works best - HAxxx NExxx Kxxxx Exxxx. Again, I appreciate the help muchly :) --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 14:54, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
Actually I also need a snappy phrase Goebbels may have thought up to explain the strategy, something short, efficient propaganda (you might find where it needs to go when you read through). --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 14:59, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Ok, that's a tough one. Here's a try: Handliches Aggregat für NEgative Kinematographische Energie (Handy Unit for Negative Kinematographic Energy). As for the Goebbels quote, let's say verblöden, verwirren, zermürben (to stultify, to confuse, to demoralize). By the way, the correct German term for "the Haneke Device" would be "die Haneke-Vorrichtung". Hope that helps. NaturalBornKieler (talk) Germany Flag 1 22:02, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Yep! Take your time.

Hey Sid, thanks for your help. Clarifications-->

  • With George Bush's quote do you mean noone has ever loved him (before the Albanians did) or that he never felt that the Albanians loved him?
  • Not sure quite what you mean about them being "anecdotally, fierce nationalists", could you explain this one? (ahhh sorry, you mean they pretend to be but they're really not?) I mean you hear people say, you hear anecdotes, of them being nationalists. The evidence, however, is purely anecdotal cuz no one has does anything more than dis serbs online or get an eagle tattooed on one's chest
  • By "grass-wax" do you mean "resin"? The marijuana you smoke if you are poor and can't afford some proper stuff? <b>Haha.. it wasn't supposed to mean anything. If you translate those words into Albanian you get 'Bar' and 'dyl', but i like the resin thing. :)
  • Not sure why you have that "raise water liquid levels" bit i meant to say that water+urine /= water. hence, liquid levels rose.
  • Not quite sure about what you were meaning with "beating, swearing, and fuc.." this bit either (ahh I think it is quite a clever joke to suggest you too cannot help swearing?) <b> nah, it's not so clever. i was about to say they f*ck them too, but left it at swearing. now that i think of it, it's not even funny. :S

Sorry for the mess. :( (no problem, cleaned - -El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 23:45, 11 August 2009 (UTC) )

You know best. :) --Andi7ta 23:50, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

"highly dubious sources" saying as many as 20mil -- i guess you shouldn't have changed that to dubious, cuz the sources ARE dubious. if we say highly reliable and a reader is redirected to marijuana upon clicking, then that's crooked. what do you think?

hahaha..the article on stoners is too funny. :D:D as for the redirection, i'm ok either way.

I don't know much about them, but I'll do my research and I'll most certainly figure something out. Prolly in the next couple of days. --Andi7ta 00:25, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Lyre review

Cheers!--PericlesofAthens 17:18, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Update: I've already begun reducing the amount of refs in the article (from 21 to 15), and I got rid of the mentioning of the method of Socrates' suicide. Ok. I've made some real quality improvements to the article, amending it according to most of your suggestions, although I fear that accommodating them all will balloon the article past acceptable limits for Uncyclopedia. I want to make it as short and concise as possible, otherwise the reader will just lose interest, especially readers who don't share the same affinity for history. Let me know where specific areas of the article can still be improved for comedic effect. Cheers.--PericlesofAthens 02:12, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
Yes, feel free to comb through the article once more. Notice how I've recently added a new sub-section under history for modern lying in the West. Also note that I tacked on an "ever" in front of "amorous," which is not a bad suggestion. I have a question: does the new image of Orpheus' head on a lyre not appear on your monitor? Whenever I go to the image page itself, the image seems fine, but when viewed within the lyre article, all I can see is the caption and no image. What's the deal?--PericlesofAthens 11:57, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

A perfect article

Thx for your time. I'm thinking about translating another of my latest french articles but I wonder if it won't be rejected on the uncyclopedia. that would be great. Is your french skill good enough to get all the girls you want translate articles or would it be better for me to translate what I can and then you adapt and correct? Registering problem

I ask you, because we already spoke about that problem on the Nonciclopedia forum. Can you use your account on central wiki, or do you have to use another one? (Look for example here) You can answer me here. --MFH (unregistered)

Ok, then I know where's the problem: uncyclopedia was created elsewhere, and then imported on wikia, so the user database is slightly different. I registered my account on nonciclopedia, so it exists on wikia, but not on uncy. You registered your account on uncy after uncy was imported, so you exist both on uncy and on wikia. And I can't register here, because the registration here is both on wikia and on uncy, and I already exist on wikia. (I hope it's clear) There are 2 possible solutions then: I can register here with a new nickname, or just complain about the problem with wikia staff, and I think the second solution is worth a try :) --MFH (unregistered) 21:10, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Differences

The difference between Fikipedia and Inciclopedia, is that Frikipedia was established first, but was closed by the Spanish Group of Writers and Authors (SGAE in Spanish), the users brought their articles to the new-born Inciclopedia, but Frikipedia was eventually re-launched. And there is a problem with translating articles fom frikipedia, if anyone tries to translate articles from thee, it will be considered as a plagliarized article (Nobody can import articles from Frikipedia, when that site was re-launched.), and therefore, your project to bring articles from there cannot be realized. And there is no war, just a friendly fight over who is the copy-cat: Frikipedia or Inciclopedia XD. Greetings. --HonduranDude 22:08, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

I think that we have 1 portuguese to every 10 or more brazilians there.

If you need some help, I think my english knowledge level is enough to translate the articles to Uncyclo without many grammar issues. I think that's it. 189.11.22.214 23:34, 13 August 2009 (UTC) (Fire_Wolf_br}

Reply from Thai version

Dear, Siddhartha-Wolf

I'm an admin of Thai version, who mistakenly blocked you by misunderstood. Recently, we was vendelised by a troll by using similar topic as you did. Regardless, whetever situation is, I'm sorry about that and I unblocked and restored your topic, already.

About cross-translation, let me tell you one thing, I am in Australia, have been through cross-cultural environment over 3 years and graduated from Australian instution. Personally, cross-translation is possible in Wikipedias, but not in Uncyclopedias. What Wikipedias aims to tell about are facts, which suppose to be the same, but Uncyclopedias ain't. Wikipedias have no sence of humour but Uncyclopedias contain full of it. Importantly, different sence of humore varies, depends on culture basis. I've been in Australia, I understood how Australians have fun with a gag, but I've been mostly not fun; because I have a different cultural background.

I have been editing Thai Uncyclopedia around 2 years and 1.5 years of translating in Thai Wikipedia. I translate Wikipedia from English to Thai easily, but this way is never effective for Uncycopedias. Reason? Simply because we have different background, cultural and humour. I may borrow some ideas from ohter versions, but not all.

Please understand this fact, mate.

P.S. I did mean that Thai version does not coorperate with the entire. I told you about our limitations. If you need any hepls or coorperations from us, tell us and we will be there if we could do somethings for all Uncyclopedian. "All for One"

--Brandy Frisky 18:35, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Well, if this all about community and exchanging ideas, I surely agree to do so. Why not?

I understand importance of coorperation so I created Thai Embassy page on UnMeta, but seem like nothing happened after that.

If you need any help from us, tell me (Coz among Thai users, I'm the only one who is proficient in English).

--Brandy Frisky 07:53, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I translated your message on th:บอร์ด:The Foreign Office (at Uncyclopedia) and wait for responses.

I guess you come to me in Thai by using Google Translate. I suggest you to not use it, mate, coz it's suck in translating English-Thai. You're better use simple English when you wanna pass your message directly to them (I mean other Thai users), rather than using Google Translate.

For your project, I need time to learn about it, since now I'm busy with job hunting TT.

Foreign Office

Thank you for your message. I will talk with the other users and administrators but Fire wolf's idea sounds very good. However i will comunicate to other users news about Foreign office and i think that i can't do too much because it's august, and all people are in holiday.--Wiki it Magnus Wiki it Wiki it 20:38, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the information, and I think Fire Wolf's idea sounds great, but I haven't time this weekend. Tomorrow, I will drive to Sweden for a little "Harrytur" as we say in Norway, so I will not be active her on uncyclopedia tomorrow--Howie 20:45, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

The idea of the meeting is great, but I usually don't like chats, there is always too much chaos, and I'm not even sure I have so much time to share (chat sessions can be very very long). I think the discussion of the page could be the better place to take note of every idea, and solves the problem of time too. --MFH (talk) 21:30, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Please keep me updated when a chat is established, I'll be there when I have time. I agree with MFH that any important things should be put down in the discussion page in any case. A chat is nice for dreaming up and developing ideas. Regarding advertising the translation projects in our site, there is not much more I can do than you and I already did in our forum. Admittedly, the German uncyclopedia is not the most active project. This might be due to the fact that there are two rival projects in Germany. We're the best one, no doubt, but the others seem to have more hits and more contributors. Oh well. NaturalBornKieler (talk) Germany Flag 1 21:45, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Just tell me the time when a chat or discussion is going to start. Praetorian 22:12, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

So I'm here ^^... Well, I would like to decide with all the other ambassadors on the place to establish the chat today, if possible. As I stated b4, I prefer IRC, but it'll be harder if some ppl here never used it. In this case, let's use MSN. That's how we did on DP, as most brazilians are 14-yr old retarded boys/girls who think that Internet=Orkut+MSN+Wikipedia. Until 2007/2008 we mostly used IRC, but now we use MSN. I think that's it. Hi Sid, and thanks for welcoming me to the diplomatic crew. I have already put a glance at the Assembly, and will come out with a few worthy proposals for translations as soon as possible. I must say I've been having a look to the other Uncys (particularly this one and the French one) for quite some time, and have myself translated into Italian the kitten huffing article, so I definitely think you really came up with a great idea by creating the Foreign Office. I have also created an account on this wiki, so you may as well contact me here if you need to. --CitroenCX 12:40, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Just a quick one - when you translate articles to English please make sure you don't override existing articles with translated ones. Even though this is a nice project our primarily concern is still original writing. If you have any doubts about a specific article, feel free to drop me (or any other admin) a line. Thanks. ~Jewriken.GIF 13:29, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for all the attention

So many understanding between our two cultures, that's fantastic ! It would almost make me forget that you eat mint jelly (or that you are a bunch of analphabetic fat fucks -pick yours) ! Sexual domination would be quite easy to translate I guess, so please yourself, but Child prodigy has some cultural adaptations to be done, and i'd like to take care of that myself (kind of, since my english is quite... wierd, and the article will need some corrections once translated). Anyway, keep on the great work. --Artough 13:55, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Embassy on Inci

I don't kow if i can start an embassy on inciclopedia by myself, because i'm not a well-known user, i suggest if you can make a new forum on Inci suggesting the opening of the embassy. If everything goes well, we can open the 'Embajada Extranjera' on Inciclopedia. With the participation of South Americans, Central Americans, Mexicans and Spaniards, we can make this a succesful project. Reply on the inci talk if you agree. Greetings. --Soccer Fan HondurasSoccer Whisper it 20:16, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Maybe the best way is to talk with a well known user like Kurraudo who expressed interest in the project or another user of Inciclopedia who expresses interest because some of the 'Inciclopedistas' are kind of lazy and always going with the philosophy of Let Someone Else Do it. Talk with one of the inci users if they can open the embassy or a forum asking how to do the embassy. --Soccer Fan HondurasSoccer Whisper it 20:34, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Re: Czech people and communication

Hi Siddhartha-Wolf:)! Czech language is very complicated - I think : Czech uncyklopedists have too work with the Czech creation and communication in English you do not:). In addition: Czech uncyklopedia is small and she has a few active filmmakers. Unfortunately, with us, with the Czech people, it's hard work:)) cs:User_Talk:BrutalniBagr

Siddhartha-Wolf, the Google translation is a good service for orientation in a foreign text. Unfortunately, communication via google translation is very complicated. Always I have a lot of guess when I read the text from the google translation:) English language is a slavic language, English is a Germanic language - do not correspond to each other. That creates an international misunderstanding:) for effective communication should be English really know how:) cs:User_Talk:BrutalniBagr

Thanks!

Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 02:10, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Job interview: <sorry PiRC not sure what you want here>

In the original French version, the text is:

  • Le recruteur ne s'intéresse pas à votre grand-mère ni à vos enfants, et encore moins à vos pratiques sexuelles. Inutile donc de lui dire que vous êtes échangiste et bisexuel, à moins de postuler à un emploi de cadre supérieur à la Société Générale.

Société Générale is one of the biggest French bank, so the text is insinuating that the upper management of that company has a depraved behavior. I invited you (or any other reviewer) to replace "Société Générale" by the name of any big and serious company you would like to make fun about, if possible a company who is famous in english speaking countries. --PiRK 03:55, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

FO updates

Hi Sid, and thanks for keeping me aware of the latest features being added at Uncy's Glass Palace. I was already keeping an eye on it and had noticed the most recent changes in the Foreign Office related pages, but nonetheless I must say I'm really appreciating the awesome job you're accomplishing in coordinating the whole affair. I'm also still reviewing all our Walk of Shame articles to find pages which don't require too much of a tough translation process, but have only come up with a couple so far.

As for the chat, I haven't spoken my mind yet merely because all suggestions proposed are quite alright to me, so whatever the majority decides will suit me fine. --Italy flag2Citroen CX 08:58, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
