At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Samarias 14/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If you need help, feel free to ask me on my talk page, ask at the community forum or in the chatroom, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, our Adopt-a-Noob program can bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian! -- Simsilikesims(♀UN) Talk here. 19:10, May 9, 2014 (UTC)

edit Axl Rose

Unfortunately, I had to reverse your edits to this article, because I could not find the humor in them. Merely making something up does not make it funny by itself. I wasn't there when Sebastian Bach opened for Guns N Roses so I don't know what Axl actually said about him publicly, but maybe if it were based on something Axl actually said publicly but twisted in a humorous way, and exaggerated. Better yet would be if it were funny to those not on the inside but those who merely know who Axl Rose is.

As to the edit to Oasis if they were spotted it wouldn't just be a rumor. On the other hand, if a photoshopped picture were distributed by the paparazzi, then it could just be a rumor. Moreover, suggesting that straight celebrities are gay has been done too often, and is an overused joke. If there are rumors that said celebrity is gay, then it could be part of a comedic strategy. Usually you want to look at how the rest of the article is written to see what direction the article is taking and what strategy it is using to make it funny. Your additionn to the Oasis article looked only at the last sentence before your addition, and as a result you didn't realize it was just a side note that didn't need to be elaborated upon, and not part of the main strategy. This is an easy mistake to make for newbies. Even geniuses should read HTBFANJS at least once to get an idea of what has been done before and failed, and what works, and how to write funny stuff on this wiki. -- Simsilikesims(♀UN) Talk here. 19:10, May 9, 2014 (UTC)

edit Unblocked

I have unblocked you for the time being. You were blocked because you deleted everything on my talk page except for your new comment. New comments should go at the bottom of talk pages, not replace their contents. Since you probably did not know this, I am giving you the benefit of the doubt. Please read Spike's reply to your comments on my talk page. Humor does have a subtle element, but should not be so subtle that the reader does not get the joke. Perhaps if you explain your joke here or on the talk page of the article, it could be redone in such a way that the average reader might understand it. Contradictions in themselves are usually not funny, but they can be funny if done right. When it looks like they were inadvertently inserted, they just make the article make less sense. Usually an article should make sense, but be funny. Otherwise it is just random, rather than funny. Comedic writing is an art, not a science, and it takes practice to put together articles edited by several people that sound like they were written by one person. If you are editing an article, prepare to have your edits mercilessly edited by others as well. At least you did not just restore your changes without discussing it first, and discussing and collaborating is a step in the right direction. Remember that different people find different things funny, and just because something is funny to you does not mean it is funny to everyone. -- Simsilikesims(♀UN) Talk here. 03:43, May 10, 2014 (UTC)
