edit Deletions

If you're going to delete all my contributions, then it's pointless me contributing. Pharmakeus (talk) 15:42, May 2, 2016 (UTC)

If this concerns your contribution at Ich Bin Ein Celebrity Juden, Get Me Out Of Here!, please read UN:LIST. You added a section with a list of the same joke told eight different ways. In addition, this was a Featured Article, voted to appear on our main page, and these are assumed not to need new help being funny (and especially new help being unfunny). In fact, your 1-May work was a rapid-fire sequence of vandal-quality edits with no Edit Summaries that were of uniformly low quality, ranging from additions that qualified as wisecracks to adding two large paragraphs of gibberish at Kenny McCormick, and I blocked you for 8 hours, indicating that it would be better if you sobered up before continuing. edit Deleting template

Hi, what's the deleting template? I dunno, and don't want to read that all English stuff. Cheers! User:Suchareq/podpis 23:36, May 7, 2016 (UTC)

Apologies for replying in English. Do not put a template inside a page and expect anyone to notice. List a page on QVFD if there are reasons for quick administrative deletion (such as, you created it in error). If it is an established page and you simply don't like it, nominate it at UN:VFD. edit What's worth salvaging on Freddy Krueger?

I think the Muppet bit is a good thread to follow; though I don't know how long that can last, right now it's just a brief aside to a bunch of scat, gay rape jokes and typos. I wasn't sure if blanking the page except for a sentence or two would require listing at VFD, and this is definitely an article we should have, even if it mostly sucks right now. Irritable of contents (talk) 03:11, May 13, 2016 (UTC)

Nothing is worth saving; please take it to VFD and start work on a replacement. Spıke Radiomicrophone08:32 13-May-16

Sorry about blanking the page I wasn't sure if I was supposed to wait til after the vote closed to change it. Do you think the replacement stub I've been working on is any good? Irritable of contents (talk) 19:54, May 13, 2016 (UTC)

You are allowed to improve the page while it is under ballot, not vandalize it entirely unless you win the ballot. The replacement page is starting nicely. Comb the existing page to see if there are any useful comedy concepts amid the cruft; also check at WP:Freddy Krueger. I see quickly that there has been a Franchise Reboot and an adaptation to a video game. Once you have a decent page, you could hijack these concepts to tug your material in any desired additional directions. Spıke Radiomicrophone20:39 13-May-16
Thanks for your help organizing the replacement article, even more so than apostrophes, dividing things better into more closely connected paragraphs and sections is something I really need to work on. Irritable of contents (talk) 00:50, May 21, 2016 (UTC)
You're welcome; I added the section headings merely because your run of text was too long without visual distractions. But a good section organization can also show you what the article is missing and what aspects of the character to work on next. It can also show whether any text is mis-placed, and correcting that can result in a smoother read. Spıke Radiomicrophone01:14 21-May-16

edit The Big Bang Theory (TV series)

SPIKE, why is it that whenever I post something it is immediately deleted, yet the rest of the article (which I also posted, btw) which is along the same lines is not? Why not just delete the entire article and let somebody you like take over? Haven't you got anything better to do than cyberbullying? The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk • contribs)

Accusing an admin of cyberbullying when he is simply adminning is not a smart thing to do, because the next thing that will likely happen is a Ban. We would have given you more of an explanation had you actually bothered to register with a user name. Besides, we have procedures for deleting articles around here, and admins don't just delete established articles because they don't like them. Instead, the article is placed on VFD for a vote. If your contribution was deleted, it was probably because it made a bad article worse, or was inconsistent with the rest of the article in some way. Meanwhile, read our "ignorable" policies, it will give you something to do while you wait out your ban. -- Simsilikesims(♀GUN) Talk here. 03:37, May 14, 2016 (UTC)
If you are the original author, as you claimed on the article's talk page with additional insults, you should have logged in with your original username. Otherwise, we have no way to know who you are. A patroller does not always see whether the entire article is of poor quality; I merely looked at your edits and saw that they were of poor quality. edit UnScripts:The West Wing Season 1 Episode 20: The Bridge Between Our Noses

Hey. I remember promising a rewrite of the article within a few days' time to appeal to a more general audience, but I've run into some writer's block. I've made some changes, but the problem is nowhere near fixed. Is there any advice you can give me to keep the page alive?

Thanks!-- Princelogo [The user formerly known as Makefolkslaugh] 22:04, May 15, 2016 (UTC)

Again: I don't watch the show. I told you what I think it needed. Am not going to finish it for you. We have other examples of fanfiction, "Scripts I wish they had written," awaiting a vote for deletion. Good luck with the others you have asked. No one is moving to delete yours before you can finish it. Spıke Radiomicrophone22:46 15-May-16

edit Abuse filter

Hi. I'd like to apologize for my poopsmithing absence which forced you to do it yourself. I kept forgetting about it, but I'll now try to fix that.

There's a problem - abuse filter did not let me poopsmith "Trans-Brazilian HighGAYway" article, because it found the word "GAY". Maybe you should make the filter bypass users which have rollback privilege? Expert 3222 00:34, May 22, 2016 (UTC)

Oh, it's worse than that; I gave Irritable of contents the obligatory 24-hour ban when he elected to do your job for you! I don't know what software is blocking "GAY" but it is not the old Regex filter that I got tired of (as it coached our vandals on exactly what vandalism they were being punished for, which led to evasions). It affects me too. The only way I could even vote or close the ballot is to edit the entire page instead of that specific section. It seems to be triggered on that word appearing in the Edit Summary, even as the section heading. If this work-around does not work for you, I can see to it later. Welcome back! Spıke Radiomicrophone00:41 22-May-16
By the way, to quibble, it is not Special:AbuseFilter but some sorcery at Wikia. Spıke Radiomicrophone00:43 22-May-16

If you are Grand High Pope Of Ducks — and you could log in and/or read the note I left you regarding signing and dating your posts to talk pages — then all of your contributions were attempts to perpetuate "Ezimodos" in our articles. As this is "Sodomize" spelled backwards, and especially since it offers no particular amusement to our general reader, I undid your work. I told you this, too, on your talk page, before you went on to do more of the same. Spıke Radiomicrophone15:59 29-May-16

edit Ralph Nader

Well, sorry for adding annoying stuff to Ralfie's page. The part about him dying and not being missed, along with the comment that not even his clone vote for him was a little edgy. I wasn't ranting. I was trying to make the article even more against Ralph Nader as it already has a point about him being terrible. Actually, he's my role model because he don't take any **** from the monopolies (that's why I did his article first). I think I should have uncapitilise any CAPS I wrote in. I read your comment about not putting anything on the bottom, but I don't know where to put it.

On the side, can I have your email (If am allowed to). I need to talk about banning someone for insulting our Romartus. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lad Maximillianus (talk • contribs)

As I wrote on your talk page, your contribution "read as though you were much more interested in convincing the reader of an opinion you have than you were in amusing him." Your comment above confirms this. The focus should be to write funny stuff. I read your comment to "our" Romartus. Considering that the alleged offense apparently occurred in 2010 and the offender has left us, you ought not to try so hard to stir up trouble before making a positive contribution. Romartus has notoriously thick skin, whereas I am notorious for banning nuisances from editing. Spıke Radiomicrophone18:50 30-May-16

edit Bernie Sanders on VFH

I nominated the Bernie Sanders article too early mostly because it was comparitively better than Tourette's Syndrome or Chris Christie....I have the feeling in a week and definitely in the next month the Bernie Sanders page will have a considerable amount of additional material to draw from one way or another; even if it's just the words adding the words the end; and that speculating on it is now is like me calling Bill Clinton the first lord. Nikau was talking about the peak on the Chris Christie VFH discussion. My bad, should I delete the VFH for an article prone to soon change or should I keep it up. I'd rather it just not be up yet cause I don't really feel it's good enough to be featured yet, jut more so than a few of the other articles up for being featured. Irritable of contents (talk) 23:18, May 30, 2016 (UTC)

The correct response to crappy articles nominated on VFH is to vote No, not to take it as open season to nominating anything slightly less crappy. Bernie Sanders is crappy; Intro is a string of insults, likewise a lot of the article, except that Simsilikesims worked in a section that fails Poe's Law and concedes Bernie's worldview. Section 1 gropes for ways to make fun of his name. Your Edit Summary suggests that you nominated it considering the political calendar, more soapboxing.
Just strike your nomination and explain why. It can always be renominated later. Spıke Radiomicrophone00:32 31-May-16

My contribs says I did though. Can you tell who else is logged in as me right now? I will probably need a new password. Irritable of contents (talk) 02:06, May 31, 2016 (UTC)

Wikia has converted to a system where videos are brought into the wiki "for faster rendering" rather than having users sent to an external website. edit Trigger warning

I think the non categorized Trigger warning article could eventually get to featured; but the OP wants permission to edit it which will make that difficult. I like large parts of it, but I think Shitlord breaks the style of someone who is trying to be as politically correct as inhumanly possible, which the rest of the article does fairly well at points. I don't know what the actual buzz word word for someone who makes light of trigger warnings is, I would suggest something like Murder Death Killer from Demolition Man to show the redundancy and Newspeak in it. Perhaps a 4th captcha test that is just pictures of half naked lesbians models making out, some sumo wrestlers, and The Elephant Man, to demonstrate how difficult it is not to be offensive to others in certain situations; either by looking too much or not enough.

I think it could also be a good opportunity to bring up various fictional minorities and how they would be treated under the trigger warning system; like whether aliens, the un dead, or the X-Men would have to wear paper bags or sheets staying indoors as not to offend anyone with their existence, being living triggers. That, or whether they all would count as particularly disenfranchised minorities whom happen to be able to destroy cities, not unlike world leaders, jet pilots, miffed scientists and nuclear missile silo/submarine employees. Veterans actually are legally protected as a minority target of hate crime, it's currently the only job that is to my knowledge, medical workers certainly aren't.

I haven't seen any other 3 way choice pages before either. The article sort of reminded me of fart rape; I mean, this is kind of a laughable concept, there isn't a page for Social Justice Warrior to go with this, another recent buzzword that doesn't actually mean anything easily definable. Trigger Warning unlike hate speech isn't actually defined legally, just in Websters, and Social Justice Warrior as of yet has no Websters entry, it's just a snarky way of saying a mediocre civil rights activist with no actual goals they are working towards, like passing legislation banning or allowing X. Trigger Warning and SJW's seem more of ED's preferred territory, but they are definitely worth lampooning for being overly broad.

I dunno, what are your thoughts on this one? It gives me the idea we should have a Voight-Kampff test page set up like this. Irritable of contents (talk) 21:00, June 4, 2016 (UTC)

I don't care.
The article was brought here from another website, against the stated will of its author, by a user who is now permabanned. The copy here is now fair game for any editor, but the original author, who is persona grata here, has put it back into the state in which he prefers it. It is not protected against edit, if you can improve the author's strategy rather than tug it in a different direction, and if this direction is more riddles to challenge the reader to know what you know, I will make you go away. I have no particular interest in this page, nor in collaborating with you on it, nor in entering another tedious intellectual colloquy with you. Even typing this is not making this website a goddamn bit funnier. It might do, if you would complete the unfinished project in your userspace. Spıke Radiomicrophone03:24 5-Jun-16

edit why are you still doing this

like what do you get out of it --W-Roman Dog Bird (talk) 04:13, June 16, 2016 (UTC)

We are trying to build a website with articles that are fun to read, and with few articles that are not fun to read. This seems more worthwhile than building a tree-house full of suggestible children who can be sent abroad on trolling missions despite not writing good stuff. I explained two years ago why this is the best hobby ever (Forum:Hobbies, then and now). The real question is: Why do youse still care? The answer, whether or not you are who you claim to be, is that your website has no reason to exist unless this one goes away, and trying to make me feel bad is your most promising way to destroy it. This begs the question of why you think it is going to happen, especially as a result of new trolling from you. Spıke Radiomicrophone12:44 16-Jun-16

edit Stradbroke

I did VFD it, but because it was towncruft, not because it was digging at the council and causing offense. Ignoring the principal of offending articles for a moment, it does kill two birds with one stone. I wish to re-write it anyway, as have not had a chance to do much on Suffolk yet. Cheers for the photos, very nice set-up! The Navs lost 6-0 to the Knights yesterday morning, Perhaps I am a Jonah...  EStop Easy button 08:42, June 16, 2016 (UTC)

I was there, of course, one of 3742 (I think another franchise record). Conversation was impossible, then the day-campers started flooding out as though the stopper had been removed. They had had their boiled hot dog and "seen a little baseball." Navs were crappy before you adopted the team. However, we are only 11 games into a 56-game season, and the team got an equally slow start last year and yet qualified for the post-season. Mavericks, who have never qualified, are suddenly two games above .500 Spıke Radiomicrophone12:29 16-Jun-16

I read it was a record turn-out, we intended just a flying visit to tick off the bucket list when we found ourselves at a Red Sox vs Mets match courtesy of the shipping agent once; but we got quite hooked on the game thanks to some fans assistance with the plays, and ended up giving the bar a miss. The hot dogs were outstanding.

I'm going to try to get a footie UnNews done today. We have had our departure day brought forward to tomorrow, which has kept me quiet for the last 24h but almost sorted.  EStop Easy button 13:10, June 16, 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the status report! Baseball is uniquely a "thinking man's game" because of dilemmas like a baserunner's requirement to get back to his base, or to get to the next one before being forced, depending on the situation; rule-heavy, often with rules to prevent benefit from taking advantage of other rules; a game of discrete plays, with plenty of time between them to finish jotting them down or debating them to death. Even a low-scoring contest is rarely boring to the student of the game, as there are always side-issues such as how long the pitcher can keep going. Yesterday featured a "double, batter takes third on the throw." Two of us argued at the press box that a batter cannot take an extra base thanks to a throw against himself; if it was prowess, score it a triple; otherwise, charge a fielder with an error. They weren't buying it. Spıke Radiomicrophone15:01 16-Jun-16
PS--Hot dogs at Navs games are always $1. They are ordinary, cooked in a heated display case, but I think you can also pay extra to get a spicy sausage in a hot-dog roll. Parking is always free; no big deal in a small city, but impressive so close to Boston. Spıke Radiomicrophone15:05 16-Jun-16

I found the pace of baseball similar to cricket, for very much the same reasons regarding tactics. Baseball seems to be not quite as drawn out as a test match, which does get dull at times, but is similar in feel to our one-day internationals. I am going to attend a 20/20 at Headingly this year, which is about as fast-paced as top-level cricket gets. It's supposed to be a great day out and it is not far away. Teams only have 20 overs to score maximum runs, so it is an entertaining slog fest, good for general spectators, but lacks the tactical depth of the tests.  EStop Easy button 16:09, June 16, 2016 (UTC)

Limited resources (such as Limited Overs) is the key for me; watching a cricket match where the batsmen can hit the ball and then decide they don't feel like running — indefinitely — is a sport that turns baseball into a quilting bee. It is chronically irritating about baseball that there are two essentially independent games being played (except for the need for everyone to play both offense and defense, about which recall my criticism of the Designated Hitter Rule), but at least we Yanks intermix the two, rather than playing all of one and then starting the other, and having the main challenge be whether you can finish before nightfall. In my youth we were told that Brits also play basketball with all the free throws being taken at the end: a fast-paced running game followed by Competitive Bookkeeping. edit UnScripts:The West Wing Season 1 Episode 20: The Bridge Between Our Noses

Hello! You may remember that a couple of months ago I was working on an UnScript satirizing The West Wing. The feedback I received was that the jokes were too specific to the show and readers who hadn't watched it wouldn't have understood them. I took this to heart and I have been modifying it ever since. I've removed most of the show-specific jokes (but not all, because I still think there should be something to appeal to viewers) and replaced them with jokes that general readers will find funny. I think I've gone as far as I can in refining the article. Any final criticisms or suggestions before I remove the {{Construction}} template? If possible, I would like some feedback specifically on a line I wrote about mens' rights, given by a character named Josh. The point is to ridicule the mens' rights movement who try to seek equality in the wrong issues (as well as to bring a political topic into an article about a political show) but I know it's a big risk that may alienate some readers and seem out of place to others. I'd like your more experienced opinion on this. Thanks! Princelogo [The user formerly known as Makefolkslaugh]

Ridiculing any "movement" for its stated beliefs is advocacy, about which my opinion is in CoW#Extremists. If that guidance does not seem to be relevant to your article, then it may be because you are trying to advocate a specific belief. This UnScript still doesn't appeal to me in the least; the concept that politicians in the White House might be hypocritical or have double standards or have character flaws strikes me as unremarkable. The concept that fictional politicians have such flaws is created out of whole cloth and is based on nothing in real life. It is on a level with our "video game" articles, in which someone takes a subject like the Arab-Israeli War and transliterates it to leet and emojis one might read in a gamer chat room. It is a daydream you had about characters in someone else's teleplay. Spıke Radiomicrophone04:02 25-Jun-16
