edit Welcome!

Hey, S1312, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thanks for making an account here. Hopefully, you'll like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... yeah. Anyway, here are a few good links for people like you:

If you want your pages to last, those are good places to learn the basics of how to do it. With enough practice, your page (yes, yours) could even make it to the front page!

When on talkpages or forums, please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Button sig) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date so we know who said what.

edit Welcome to Italy.

edit Thanks!

For helping to talk to and/or plummel the IP vandals. Some of them can become real good users and writers if they just decide to stay and play. Good to meet you! Nice work. Aleister 1:21 8 10

And thank you too for your vote on Disguise!!! Very appreciated. I've seen you working around the site and have waved, but you didn't see me in the crowd. Things are jumping 'round here. By the way, what does your page look like--does it have ads on the left side and a banner moving ad on the main page? Many new users are getting that. More soon, and thanks again. Aleister 00:31 22 10

edit Only welcoming users with edits

  • Hey there. I think it's really great that you've taken the initiative to welcome new users. However, please do not welcome users who do not have any edits. Every day there are hundreds of new user accounts created, and only a few of them ever actually make edits. So please only welcome new users who are contributing to the site. Thanks, -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 20:00, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I'll Try. --*-User:S1312-* (Yell At Me Here) 20:11, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
  • I have banned you for two hours because of this. In the future if you wish to continue your work with The Wecloming Committee I suggest that you only welcome users who are making edits on Recent Changes and do not yet have a talkpage. Those are the users that will benefit from reading the Welcome template, not the guys you've been welcoming. Thanks! -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 21:34, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

edit Also...

Do you actually have a User:S1312/Welcome page you can template, or are you manually copy/pasting it? And also... consider getting the "Welcome Whore"-.js app, so it gets easier, if you're serious about being a member of the Welcoming Committee -- DameViktoria Heart_anim.gif Icons-flag-gb - (Contribs) - (Talk) - (Block log) 21:18, 23 Oct

Now i do, thank you. --[(Sam DiSanto)] / Please Find The Link To My Talk Page. 21:20, October 23, 2010 (UTC)
And while you're at it, add yourself to the Welcoming Committee's Member page, too! -- DameViktoria Heart_anim.gif Icons-flag-gb - (Contribs) - (Talk) - (Block log) 21:23, 23 Oct
I Am now part of the welcome committee, thank you --[(Sam DiSanto)] / Please Find The Link To My Talk Page. 21:25, October 23, 2010 (UTC)
There is also a means of implementing some scripts that make welcoming easier than that, but tihs should get you started. -- DameViktoria Heart_anim.gif Icons-flag-gb - (Contribs) - (Talk) - (Block log) 21:38, 23 Oct

edit Right mate

Stop welcoming users. You don't really know what you're doing and thus won't be able to help noobs when they ask you for help - which is the point of welcoming them. Want examples of what you're doing wrong? You're not leaving your signature behind when welcoming new users and they won't know who to talk with if they need something (not to mention that your signature is completely malformed) and you STILL welcome banned vandals even though you've been asked repeatedly to look at people's contributions before you do so. So again, until you're more experienced you'll be needing to stop welcoming users. ~Jewriken.GIF 12:59, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

Ok. I Will Wait A While, (Please give me a time To start welcoming new users & feel free to set other boundries as well). Also I Like this, Nice work. Thank you --[(Sam DiSanto)] / Please Find The Link To My Talk Page / (twitter/Wiki) 13:19, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

edit Your sig, and something about unicorns

Read this to help you set up your sig. Also, something about unicorns. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 00:25, November 21, 2010 (UTC)

Oh God, don't turn your back. The last time Modus talked about unicorns we had a sexual harrasment case like you would not believe. Whenever you hear the word unicorn here, get to a safe place. Your safe place, where it's all flowers and lambs jumping over other lambs. Aleister 19:56 22 11
Worse, PETA went crazy after the Uncyclopedia picnic, where we served unicorn on the cob. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 21:29, November 22, 2010 (UTC)

edit Massachusetts

You've added to the See Also of this page a link to invoke a Google search of all Uncyclopedia pages that contain "Massachusetts." The command to Google specifies Mozilla. Are you prepared to add such a link to all pages?

The right way to find all pages that have to do with Massachusetts is to look in Category:Massachusetts. Spıke Ѧ 02:22 27-Feb-11

Sorry SPIKE, Unaware of The Category, I am using Firefox, maybe that's why the link had the Mozilla command to Google. I am not adding these kind of links to all pages. --[(Sam DiSanto)] / [(talk) 02:28, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

Well, that is the "right" way to see all members of a notable set, so I've made the change on the page. If you think there is a notable set of pages for which there is no Category, you can create it. Spıke Ѧ 02:32 27-Feb-11

Now, I don't like this new diagram. It is huge--has to be, for the captions to be readable--and especially huge compared to the map just before it. And only to make the point that Western Mass. is relatively deserted (which was also made in the text) and that the towns around certain cities are essentially extensions of those cities--for which you have to read the text to find out "So what?" Spıke Ѧ 16:42 27-Feb-11

Feel free to relocate the map on the page, please leave the image the same size if you can, the image is quite relevant. --[(Sam DiSanto)] / [(talk)] 18:01, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

edit Comcast

Do not restore articles here from other websites! This one in particular was voted to be deleted at VFD. Our process protects authors' pages from deletion, notably with a requirement for a consensus vote, but once that vote is taken, you ought not countermand it. The vote doesn't mean that no Comcast article can ever be written again; and if you want to develop one in your userspace, even using some of the deleted material, that is fine, but you shouldn't unilaterally return it to the encyclopedia, and especially not return the exact (awful) text that was voted to be deleted. Cheers! Spıke Ѧ 03:28 9-Aug-13

I do apologize. I just remember that article from a couple years ago & I do not think it sucked. It sure wasn't the best of this site, but I still think it was worth keeping. I might consider just putting it in my userspace. --S1312 15:09, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

The article, with Uncyclopedia change history, is now at User:S1312/Comcast for you to hack up. Spıke Ѧ 15:25 9-Aug-13

Well, you beat me to it, but thank you anyway. But why was the image Image:Comcast_southeast_elevation.gif was still on the site when there were no pages with it prior? aren't those orphaned images deleted after a while? --S1312 15:38, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Not automatically. I delete orphaned pages when poopsmithing VFD, but some Admins don't. I didn't poopsmith the deletion of this because I wasn't an Admin yet. Spıke Ѧ 16:25 9-Aug-13

PS--I reverted you at TiVo. A mainspace article cannot link into userspace, especially to this article, which Uncyclopedia voted to get rid of. That does not mean "hide it somewhere just out of our sight and continue to link to it"! I am glad you are continuing to repair it; when it is better (and, I hoped, reviewed by someone else), it can return to Comcast but until then, it should not be in the encyclopedia, even as a link. Cheers! Spıke Ѧ 22:36 12-Oct-13

Upon further review, I see that you spent the day giving several other articles similar treatment, using <span> to conceal that they were linking into userspace, and using {{Title}} to conceal that the target article is in userspace, meanwhile doing none of the promised rework of the article in the two months you have had exclusive access to it. The article is deleted and is going to stay deleted. Sorry for the inconvenience. Spıke Ѧ 22:47 12-Oct-13

My goal was not to repair it, it was to archive it, but since I am not surprised that I got bagged, I copied & pasted the pages source, & I might consider revising it sooner or later. I will let you know when I have improved it. --S1312 23:59, October 12, 2013 (UTC)

edit So I noticed you're bisexual

I'm just curious... do you like androgynous people? Cuz I do. Again, just curious. --The Sieger of Dungeons Lord Denza Aetherwing Inventory 03:47, September 2, 2013 (UTC)

Why are you asking? I have another bi friend who is like that. And I am also an aspie, too. --S1312 04:07, September 2, 2013 (UTC)

edit A perfect article

Is there no other way to do this? Attaching a template from your private userspace to an article in the main encyclopedia is like telling other editors, "you may not edit this," which you ought not do. If this is a narration, is there no way to get it under the 10 Mb limit, such as monaural recording or a lower bitrate? What is the media you're pointing to? Spıke Ѧ 22:00 23-Sep-13

The media I uploaded was a narration for A perfect article, but I don't have current access to a file compressing software right now. That was just temporary. Before I proceed, I think you should have a listen to the narration to see if it is worth uploading to the commons. --S1312 22:29, September 23, 2013 (UTC)

By all means there is no reason that a narration has to be that big! You can get ten minutes done under the site limit. Megabytes are expensive for me just now. But Audacity is free, and I have just switched to it. I enthusiastically endorse it as, for instance, I can do my UnNews Audios and only mix in the TeleType background noise when saving. If I were at McDonald's, I'd download your file, compress it myself, and re-upload it. Unfortunately, my plans for the night are to acquire blurry vision incompatible with a drive into town.

If the article is funny and your narration is audible, no one should object to your uploading it to the website. (We have no "commons"; just use Special:Upload once you deal with the size problem. Spıke Ѧ 22:40 23-Sep-13

Well, I'll be honest: I was bullshitting you about "not haveing access". I just didn't have time & I was too lazy to truly care. But I have heard of audacity before, & I just used it to take the audio format from mp3 to ogg for that article. --S1312 00:51, September 24, 2013 (UTC)
I had a listen. Interesting work. Have you considered in writing a version of this for the mainspace? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 07:13, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
Scrub that. You have! --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 07:14, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
Thank you! --S1312 20:32, October 4, 2013 (UTC)
ARGH! Sorry for my late reply, but yeah, I really liked your addition to the article! Great narration skills! --The Sieger of Dungeons Lord Denza Aetherwing Inventory 02:37, October 7, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks! --S1312 13:05, October 12, 2013 (UTC)

edit No, it is not all right

Being permabanned means he is not on this website. Suffice it to say that it was a long series of bans, apologies, returns, and conduct with no purpose other than to make other people clean up after him. The risk of your post was that it would lure him back to the site to tell his story, surely claiming afterward that it was someone else acting in his name. We are moving forward; sorry. Spıke Ѧ 14:21 9-Dec-13

Pardon that, Spike. But might I ask you something: Why do you check my activity so much? It feels like you are big brother. Honestly, it kind of makes me almost paranoid. --S1312 02:35, December 23, 2013 (UTC)

Whether paranoia is a result or a cause is unknown. In fact, I check all activity, as anyone else can too. Most of it doesn't matter, but having someone post to a talk page of a permabanned user matters, as giving him the impression he has a future here will lead directly to further clean-up work for several Admins.
