Firstly - I apologize if this isn't the right way to contact you, Romartus. I'm new here, so I've been hard at work trying to find a way to respond to your comment on the Bronies article.

Secondly, and foremostly - you're perfectly right about the formatting of the article; it's dreadful. But I don't really know how to make it any better; my formatting skills are about like those of a monkey on meth. So if you could delegate this task of formatting to someone else, you'd get a much better result in a lot shorter time than if you leave it to my inept expertise. I also ask you to have patience with me; I truly try to do a good job with the articles, it's just that I'm god-awful at making them look neat.

Thanks for contacting me,

edit Author promise to work on this more.

Don't hold your breath. If you follow my link on the VFH of Boston Red Sox that you just closed, you will see that the article's deficiencies that I noted on VFH I had previously addressed to Author. His response, as usual, was to do nothing, wait two weeks, and nominate it anyway. He responded to my No vote with a polite message asking if I would care to "clean up" the page a bit, though when I rolled that back, he left a terse apology in its place. In other words, another, to use GT's term, shit-nom independent of an article's quality for the sole purpose of fluffing his personal count of successful nominations on his user page. If Froggy's three-day ban of Kamek98 had some point other than personal amusement, I would say that he is now ready for six. Short of that, I would not cite a promise made by him to justify any action. Spıke Ѧ 10:42 23-Dec-12

OK I will suggest he does that in future. I don't like banning productive contributors but they have to abide by the house rules. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 10:49, December 23, 2012 (UTC)

PS--The said personal count of nominations is in 6 Featured Content That I Have Nominated. I appended 7 Pulitzer Prizewinning Authors To Whom I Have Written Letters That I Might Mail but he expressed only bafflement when reverting it. I must be slipping.... Spıke Ѧ 12:25 23-Dec-12

You take things way too seriously. 1) I am not nominating complete shit by nominating Boston Red Sox. Even you yourself said you would rather abstain and wouldn't mind seeing it on the main page. Do you think maybe that gave me a thought I should nominated it? 2) If you read Featured Content That I Have Nominated, I explain it is just for show and if you would like me to remove it, I will. I'm fine with that. Also, what the hell is the Pulitzer Prize? I reverted that because I had no idea what you meant by that. I've been trying to change how I do things. (I know I've gotten better)--SirPeasewhizzdeNewYork Click here to talk 14:36, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
The Pulitzer Prize is an an American award for journalistic excellence, named after Joseph Pulitzter and dates back to the 19th century. Became tarnished when a couple of winners were shown to have written fiction instead of news reporting. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 16:03, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
Oh well I knew about Joseph Pulitzer. I didn't know about the prize though, lol.--SirPeasewhizzdeNewYork Click here to talk 16:46, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
Spike was implying you're claiming credit for other people's articles which you have merely nominated, and not written. If I were you I'd give the VfH a miss for a while, it's not really worth all the hassle is it? If I like an article, I leave a note on the discussion page, or if there is one definitive writer, on his user talk page. That way the user gets a pat on the back, and no one gets their knickers in a twist about whether it should be featured or not. --Leverage (talk) 16:14, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry Leverage. Is that message for me or Kamek98? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 16:19, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
For Kamek! --Leverage (talk) 16:46, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
I never claimed credit. I claimed credit for nominating the article for featuring, but I removed it now.--SirPeasewhizzdeNewYork Click here to talk 16:52, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
Then it is a misunderstanding. Writers finding other people's work and nominating is what I do a lot. If it is your own article - then you add Selfnom&For to be clear. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 17:02, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
Okay I will do.--SirPeasewhizzdeNewYork Click here to talk 17:03, December 23, 2012 (UTC)

edit Festivus

I should have thought of this sooner, seeing that Bing is listing our pages quite high in their que. Could you do some admin magic and change the name of The Threat of Festivus to Festivus. I already have Festivus as a redirect, which doesn't show up on search engines. I tried yesterday but changing the name doesn't carry over the "Feature" ribbon in the corner. Will still call it "The Threat of Festivus" but will code that in on the page itself (much like Ann Coulter is named David Coulter). Thanks, and happy Festivus!!! Aleister 15:12 Festivus'12

Retrospectively changing the name of an article after it was featured to get a better hit rate on Bing? A bit of post production vanity Al! I don't know if there is a precedent for a request like that. I will consult the dusty tomes of Uncyclopedia's historic archives. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 16:11, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
Well sure, the tomes say "Do it!" An argument for doing so is that it is our article on Festivus regardless, only the page will go to Festivus and the redirect will be for the "The Threat to Festivus" title (which will stay the title upon seeing the page, i.e. Ann Coulter to David Coulter). If it wouldn't be our Festivus page I wouldn't have asked, but the detail in the page covers the entire subject quite well. And hit rates are the name of the game in some places, and Festivus would be one of those. Check out my James Bevel page on Bing, it's usually number two or three. And Boone's Farm, with a little work it could be number one (it's number two last time I looked). Location location location. I love Kip's work around Christmas, he just keeps coming up with new articles and themes by the bushel. Aleister 17:26Festivus'12
I checked through. Couldn't find an instruction that this couldn't be done so I have moved the article to a new page Festivius with a redirect. The only problem is that I have lost the vote page that went with it. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 09:34, December 24, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Romartus, and I won't make this a habit (unless we want to change "People Who Like to Fuck Naked" to "A strange subset of humans, the ones who enjoy the pleasure of making the love without their clothes hindering them in any way"). Ah, the vote page, that is a problem, and it's listing on the feature list. Will it now come up as a Random feature for the hordes of readers who hit that link? Thanks again, you are a gentlemen who is like a scholar. And if you've read this far into my post, may I have the honor of nominating the epic now, or at some point soon? Joking aside, it would be an honor. I wonder where it is on Bing? Aleister 13:33 The Day After Festivus '12
p.s. The epic is number five! And whoops, Festivus does not exist, so the link isn't working. Ah, but the misspelled Festivius does. It's a Festivus miracle!
Now it works. Epic? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 14:08, December 24, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, Festivus lives! The Epic: History of Great Britain, it's listed number five if someone types into Bing "history of Great Britain". I'll try "history Great Britain" and see where that takes us. And when it's featured (although it may fail for lack of work, needs additional material) it should even move up at least a slot. (checked, "history Great Britain" kicks it down to number eight, but still on the first page.Aleister 14:52 later

edit Re:Advisory

Hi, thank you for letting me know and not immedieately blocking me. I admit, i have been a bit careless recently, but those recent 'unconstructive' edits are completely explainable. The first one; i tried to put some sort of background for my userpage profile but the abuse filter thought i was trying to vandalize the page, which i was not (why would you vandalize your OWN userpage in the first place) The second one was indeed an accident, but it was not exactly done on purpose. The article i did that on was really bad and has already been deleted (the article was : Jeroen overeem), i tried to delete everything on that page (it only had a few lines anyway) to put a Delete template but i am sorry for that since that appearantly was not needed. And, an article i created which you deleted (How to be stupid and not just funny THE IMAGE VERSION was really gibberish and stupid but that was on purpose because the article had to look satire and not serious.

In other words, i'll try to watch out next time. Contact me if i screw up again, but if i do, that will never be on purpose. Thanks for reading! --RockoRocks (talk) 20:54, December 23, 2012 (UTC) Sorry forgot to sign!!

The How to be etc article I will only restore to your subpages because this is no illogicopedia - so just a collection of random nonsense does not equal an article as yet. Also as a new user, there a few things you can't do for a couple of days which probably explains why the Abuse Filter thought you were a vandal. This system was in put in place for precisely that reason. Let me know what you want me to do by leaving a message here. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 22:15, December 23, 2012 (UTC)

edit Is this alright?

I wanted to do something like Inbox, only I'm gonna do Schedule. I'm using a month's calender and adding funny things to the days. Like "Stalk Lisa" and "Repurchase Weed Supplies". I was gonna make the article just that picture, but would that be fine?--SirPeasewhizzdeNewYork Click here to talk 23:46, December 23, 2012 (UTC)

If you are not too sure how an article is going to go and don't want it tagged, it is a good idea to create a subpage as a test area. If I recall, Inbox was started by one user who then encouraged others to join in. With Inbox, the humour came the messages sent to the person, not what he was going to do. With something like Schedule, I would imagine it would be filled in by his or her personal assistant, in a way like say the TV show Madmen. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 23:55, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
I could do that sometime. I'll make a subspace for User:Kamek98/Month Calender and let you decide if it is mainspace worthy.--SirPeasewhizzdeNewYork Click here to talk 23:58, December 23, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, start it in your own subpage first. Then invite other writers to help with ideas what to put in there in the same way Inbox was created. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 06:59, December 24, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for featuring Kerala. Yes, the relationship to Christmas Day is inscrutable. edit About an edit

Hi Romartus, I saw that you had edited something on the Berlusconi article, but I think it must have been a mistake. You started a new paragraph in the middle of a character making a statement and quotation marks were added at the end of the new paragraph. I'm not a prima donna or anything, but in this case it didn't seem to make much sense. Let me know if I'm missing something obvious because I had too much Finnish beer tonight.--Bill Melater (talk) 22:09, December 29, 2012 (UTC)

PANIC! at the Disco, we think it is a good article. Any opinions?--Sir Peasewhizz de New York (Chat) (Stalk?) 20:10, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

Would that be in addition to the THREE you have on VFH at the moment, which doesn't count the one you got Frosty to nominate as your proxy? Yes, I have an opinion; it is that you should find a way to enjoy Uncyclopedia that does not revolve around having the rest of us vote on honors for you every day of the week. Spıke Ѧ 21:20 30-Dec-12
I meant later dude. I enjoy Uncyclopedia anyways. And no, for the the last time, I'm not trying to make myself "GOD F****** ALMIGHTY FAMOUS" here! Geez. In fact, I voted for your nomination of Nutella as well. For which I claim you contributed (1) the first word, (2) two damned fine illustrations once they acquired damned fine captions, and (3) a steady stream of digressions I had to decide between making funny or reverting. That is to say, if it clears, I claim 1 full point in the Hall of Shame. Spıke Ѧ 00:06 31-Dec-12
Hello? What's been going on here?? Seems the Christmas spirit has pissed off down the pub with these exchanges! Can we all just all calm down eh? Nutella is now my page, and I have taken credit for it in the Hall of Shame. Why anyone else thought they had credit for it is strange, and I thank everyone who voted for it. Aleister 10:19 31decemb12
One last thing, Romartus. You decide. Is it half credit between me and SPIKE or is it full him?--Sir Peasewhizz de New York (Chat) (Stalk?) 16:55, December 31, 2012 (UTC)
I am not going to act like Solomon here. If two writers disagree about credits, then it suggests to me that wasn't a successful collab or join enterprise. I have contributed to countless of articles with images, captions, some extra paragraphs or rewording (as will be seen in the logs). I haven't expected a co-credit on those and if I myself don't think I really 'made the article', I am content for one writer to claim it all. I am just happy that my assistance gave an article that extra push to get it featured. I personally want to encourage as many people here as possible to write about something that interests them. This website relies on collaboration at all levels to work. We are not like students sitting for an exam. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 18:19, December 31, 2012 (UTC)
Spike can have the credit if he truly believes he deserves it, I have no problem. Cheers. --Sir Peasewhizz de New York (Chat) (Stalk?) 19:38, December 31, 2012 (UTC)

Hi man, I was just wondering if doing a new paragraph for my sig was a real bad thing. Thought that it would look neat since my sig wouldn't "break" you know. But that's just my thing. Hi, RJ, and welcome. You should take a moment to read UN:SIG as there are rules in place against the most outlandish signatures. If a signature contains a hard break--or is so long that it needs one so as not to break elsewhere--it might break the rule on overall size. Spıke Ѧ 00:38 1-Jan-13

edit Talk:Supergeeky1 + wikicoding 101

Dear Romartus I think you got off on the wrong foot when you asked Supergeeky1 to link to his talkpage in his signature, firstly no policy states that ones signature must direct to a users talkpage. Secondly I am afeared that your coding skills seem to be somewhat rusty as his signature already does link to his talkpage and the only reason that you didn't see that is because links do not work if they are on the page that they are linking to. Example: [[User talk:Romartus]] does not link to this page because that would be an Infinite Loop see---> User talk:Romartus. I feel you do owe Supergeeky an appology for your unproper conduct towards him. Cheers Madclaw @ talk 15:31, January 6, 2013 (UTC)

The way I'm reading things: SPIKE made an outrageous request about his edit summaries, Supergeeky complied, then you made an outrageous and unfounded request about his signature, he explained the situation to you, and then he got a 1 week ban. This all seems very ridiculous and heavy handed to me so could you please explain. -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 00:26, January 7, 2013 (UTC)
I checked what I said to Supergeeky on his discussion page. I said 'can you link your signature to your talk page'?. I didn't say 'must'. I have said this to other users before and I saw it in comments by other admins before too. Since I had admonished another user for calling Supergeeky a 'douche', in reply I get the message from Supergeeky that I am a 'douche' and then some long winded reply. Yes, perhaps a week is too long for a first offence and I can reduce it as I have done with other people I have banned. I trust that explains the situation. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 07:21, January 7, 2013 (UTC)
I removed the ban on Supergeeky1. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 09:43, January 7, 2013 (UTC)

edit In what way is Snickers satisfying?

I tightened this up and tugged it in a few new directions, sometimes post-editing your work. Now, the advertising slogan as I remember it was "Snickers satisfies," which suggests that the title of the article could line up with it better: "In what way does Snickers satisfy?" Spıke Ѧ 00:55 8-Jan-13

Thanks for your extra work Spike. I would leave the title as it is. Since the original author hasn't been active for a long time, I will go with their name for the article. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 06:52, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

edit Interesting

I would have thought we'd have more IP problems, but not only are regular users not posting here very much, but the IP's seem to be keeping away. The recent changes thread is moving very slow. This is a good thing, and if the vandals clear out we can just keep this place moving slowly, but still moving and available for viewing. Nice work everyone. Aleister 11:55 8-1-'13

Well you are posting and voting here Aleister which I am glad to see. I would write more but as we have set up a VFS for this site, then all will be clearer soon. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 13:09, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

edit Redirect needs a fix, mate

Hi Romy, sorry to bother. I was trying to make a page GNA that would redirect BNA#GNA (BNA cure). But now GNA just goes to BNA. I hope I didn't make a mess. Could you straighten that out please - before everyone realizes I'm an ass. Much appreciated. Cheers!--Funnybony Icons-flag-th Agnideva-small.jpg AGT-logo-small.jpg 21:58, Jan 9

edit India

InMooseWeTrust has been editing {{India}} and a host of our India pages. The Chief gave him Autopatrolled, which is correct, as he knows what he is doing. However, I disagree with his philosophical goals, at User talk:InMooseWeTrust (where Mnbvcxz supported me) and at Template talk:India. He is purposely trying to make the template cumbersome, in order to make a point about India, and the result will be a disservice to the reader. Spıke Ѧ 13:13 11-Jan-13

Can you move the deleted article That time your mom wasn't nearly fucked by Joe Biden during her sojourn in the kitchen last night to my userspace? --Mn-z 19:34, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

Ok. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 20:01, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

edit UnNews:America seeks closure after school massacre

Would you please find a decent illustration (and caption) for this? There is additional idiocy to lampoon, from NRA head Wayne LaPierre to dick head Joe Biden, but this UnNews only tries to exaggerate the schizophrenia of recreating Sandy Hook School versus getting the kids to put the shooting behind them. If you see fit to pull it in new directions, that's fine. Spıke Ѧ 21:51 11-Jan-13

I will have a look. An NRA/Biden story could be different place to go for an UnNews story. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 22:09, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

To recap that, LaPierre wants an armed guard (or firearms instructor?) in every grade school, whereas Biden wants to "do something" about this chain of events each of which were already illegal. I could do it but the result would be preachy and/or lead anyone who knows me to be on guard for preachiness. Spıke Ѧ 22:18 11-Jan-13

Yes, I read about LaPierre's bizarre call and Biden's recent waffle. Hmmm. I would make it something more absurd than guns, like a definition about 'do something, We will agree on doing something which is lot better than doing nothing but can be anything. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 22:30, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

We've got to "do something soon"!!! Otherwise? "It will be too late"!!! Separately, thanks for the photo; I gave it a new caption that was more ironic than the pull-quote had been. Spıke Ѧ 23:13 11-Jan-13

edit All Your Base Are Belong To Us

Hey Romartus, the All Your Base Are Belong To Us page you reverted and protected after vandalism still has the vandalized title, but can't be moved back to the correct title because it's now protected.... - thought I'd let you know.... Strainj1 04:59, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Strainj. Thanks very much for reverting the vandalised articles. I know that one is locked under the wrong name but I will look at how to change that later unless another admin comes on line. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 05:14, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
Done. Thanks again. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 05:34, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
no worries Romartus. :) With the recent change over to the new site, I'm half-wondering whether ALL of the articles should be locked on this site now - and a notice put to redirect users to the new site...... My logic is at the very least, this would prevent un-administered spammer from wreaking havoc...... Not sure who i should mention this idea to though..... - Strainj1 06:26, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
Just a point about the new site. What has happened is that Uncyclopedia has forked. This site remains active and open. Users are welcome to go to both. There is a forum as regards new sysops for the Wikia-hosted Uncyclopedia hosted at UN:VFS. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 08:38, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

I tried a revert of 99th Red Balloon Infantry that was vandalized but it went to the new dick name, and I don't know how to put it back. Does move work? What was that, did the vandal use a bot? He was going alphabetically, and since my user name is in the "AAAAAAAAA"'s, gulp. Apologize, I was drinking some water - in the "AAAAAAAA"'s, watch my back please. Thanks. Al 9:21 12-1-13

p.s. I think he got a few of me poor features, and the history was removed. I found "A pizza a day keeps the doctor away" now dicked, and Maniac must have been hit because he left a note on my talk page. This is the worse vandalism I've seen here.
Not sure what happened on your end with 99th Red Balloon Infantry Aleister, but it's fixed now... :) - Strainj1 09:48, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

edit Request for a check user request

I made a passing comment on this in the forum, but as one of the few active admins on this site, you may have missed it.

Anyway, you could ask Sannse to do a check user of the recent vandals, to see if they have other accounts, or, possibly, to see if they are sockpuppets of some sort. To save you some time reviewing logs, the 3 banned users relating to the pagemove vandalism are

  • Mike the Great
  • Hipcrime
  • Jimmy Le Rustle banned by abuse filter, didn't move or actually vandalize, but "assisted" with vandalism by adding an AE image to pages after the vandalism. --Mn-z 15:01, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
I have contacted Sanse. Thanks for helping with the clear up. I hadn't seen the third user was involved. I will act on that now. Thanks.--LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 15:09, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

edit You may already know...

...but History of Great Britain has 10 feature votes at FreeUncyclopedia! Some people have edited it, I haven't checked if they were just fixing red links or spelling or adding to it. Congrats! When can we put it up for feature here? Tell Zarbag, I'll let you break the bad news that it will be featured. Aleister 2:40 14-1-'13 (Yay, Anne Hathwaway won a Golden Globe a few minutes ago!)

Thanks Aleister. You like Anne Hathaway then or did I know that already? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 06:54, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
I see you posted on the feature page there, something about Nero's last words about choking an artist with a rope made of week-old pasta or something. "Anne Hathaway" was my first feature here, and I'm impressed with her as an actress. Her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes was one of the most intelligent and kind I've ever heard as a non-teleprompter speech, with her hands shaking because it's the biggest award she's won (both in prestige and in the weight of the thing). So it was a nice moment. I'm disapointed "Argo" won for best drama, was hoping for "Lincoln" which will probably take the Oscar this time around. I've not read the Hathaway page in a couple of years, and will do an edit/writing tweak-sweep of it soon. And you've been getting some mighty fine comments at the other on HistoryOGB, does Zarbag know it's there? More soon. 10:25 14-1-'13
Zarbag hasn't been active for a few weeks. I will drop a message on his talk page and outline what has happened here of late. If you nom the version here then you will force me to correct edit it in the land of the 'UnFree' . We're keeping the chains of Wikia in the Land of Egypt. Cleopatra would approve. Ah yes Anne Hathaway. I am sure you polishing her poster as I write this reply. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 10:39, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
Yay! Thank you for the honor (seriously). If you look at Anne Hathaway's talk page you may be polishing her poster too, but she's one I like for her mind more than her body (although...). A very good actress, a vegan and an activist as well. Nom coming right up. Aleister few minutes before nom

edit Crisis line addition

My method of picking which admin to talk to is often "who edited last", but hopefully any other active admins will be watching here...
I've had a suggestion that HowTo:Commit Suicide and similar pages should have the number for a crisis line on them. Many terms in that article are ones that people in distress are very likely to search for. And even if they understand that the article is satirical, there's a lot in there that might cause more turmoil to vulnerable people. I'm not suggesting removing the article, just adding something at the top that says in a reasonably straightforward way "If you need help, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline on 1-800-273-8255 or a similar crisis line in your country"
I feel very strongly that this is worth doing - it's simple, not damaging to the article, and responsible citizenship (srsly, us being responsible citizens! what can go wrong??) What do you think? -- sannse@fandom (talk) 23:05, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
Sannse? I will send a reply back as an email. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 23:20, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
Let me kibitz and take it for all it is worth. Neither Uncyclopedia nor Wikia is to blame for anyone committing suicide, and the appearance of a Prevention Lifeline before the first joke will not prevent any suicide; it will merely make gadflies feel important and make authors feel that their humor impulses are being subordinated to good corporate citizenship. I did not endorse the exodus from Wikia but this tendency seems to be one of the key drivers. Our articles on suicide and self-mutilation are routinely blanked, including one today, in favor of a cheery, positive message, and surely the blanker also phoned the corporation. In fact, pages in a humor wiki do not all have to preach a positive-lifestyle message. If you believe they do, then change the Content Warning to say: "Warning: Uncyclopedia may cause suicide!" Otherwise, don't reward misbehavior by gadflies. You will get more of it. Spıke Ѧ 23:37 14-Jan-13
I had a look at the article. Putting a phone number on there which is only for America will be considered to be part of the joke in my view. Perhaps a more obvious template that what is written there is not to be taken literally (the old NSFW template) is all I can suggest for now. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 00:05, January 15, 2013 (UTC)
There's no reason to not put the phone number there. And it will be worth it, even if one theoretical teenager whose ex openly cheated on them, whose parents murdered each other with plastic spoons over the last slice of pizza, whose dog created a distraction and threw himself into the fire while he had the chance, whose local villagers repeatedly insult and cajole and marm and wiff and spoff him, who is smeared all over facebook every day for his 10,000 skin crators on his chin alone, who cannot pronounce the letter f and who thought he'd spend his last five minutes on earth reading an uncyclopedia article. It kind of makes you want to write more. --ShabiDOO 07:44, January 15, 2013 (UTC)
If it makes you want to write again Shabidoo, then that is a good thing. My only thought was an extra template on the page but I seriously can't believe that anyone could say 'reading that pushed XXX over the edge but that phone number saved them.' Otherwise Facebook and Twitter would have to include compulsory links to sites when someone says to another user 'drop dead'. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 08:01, January 15, 2013 (UTC)
I understand it is to do with links bypassing the welcome/warning template and going straight to an article. Perhaps a link to wikipedia where there is a serious article about the subject of suicide could be another answer. Time for another forum?? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 08:40, January 15, 2013 (UTC)
My main angle on this is that it needs to be done correctly if it is to be done. I agree with what Sannse says in terms of some of what is there could potentially cause distress to people, however the whole site has a content warning on it and I don't think going through that to immediately be confronted by a banner saying "IF YOU NEED HELP CALL XXX - THIS IS A JOKE, HA HA TEE HEE". I would be happier if we included, under external links, links to the websites of the Samaritans and the National Suicide Prevention lifeline. This provides the links to these websites without jarring the non-suicidal viewer, whilst still providing a way to that assistance for those who are. Also, did you know that if you Google "Committing suicide" or something along those lines, the phone number for a counselling service automatically pops up at the top? So, had they searched for this information they would have to bypass that and our own content warning before reaching the article, where we can have the links at the bottom. It seems to me that that is more than adequate to provide people with the help they require. Thoughts? --ChiefjusticeGameCube 08:44, January 15, 2013 (UTC)
Perhaps we could create a forum do discuss this. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 08:55, January 15, 2013 (UTC)
I don't see that a forum is necessary for it to be honest, all that will do is give people who have left an opportunity to return and say "Look at the things eeeebil wikia has done!", which will invariably result in the whole point of the forum being lost as we debate Wikia and its censorship of the masses. If we can agree on the proposed solution above I see no reason to bring this to forum. If we think that is not appropriate then by all means we can take this to a forum and discuss it. --ChiefjusticeGameCube 09:02, January 15, 2013 (UTC)
Ok. Well as long as we are not censoring an article on any other ground we normally use here (cyberbullying etc). --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 09:57, January 15, 2013 (UTC)
Romartus, regarding "links...going straight to an article", they do not bypass the welcome/warning template; it is in every page. I think it is a cookie that keeps you from seeing it a second time.
Separately, it does not stop here. Talk radio hosts routinely get pressure from race advocates based on things they said, and lesser ones than Limbaugh lose their jobs. The heartfelt expressions of outrage always have a curious three-to-seven-day latency as the gadflies meet to size up the strategic odds. If Wikia is a big enough fish in the pond and shows it can be pressured to include a suicide phone number, C.A.I.R. will eventually loudly threaten a consumer boycott until Hyperbole's Islam is neutered or removed, followed by the N.A.A.C.P. against my African American. Again, making a statement about good corporate citizenship is yielding to manipulation and invites more misbehavior. Spıke Ѧ 10:59 15-Jan-13
Suicide is painless, it brings on many changes. So what's everybody complaining about? I say we provide a link to HowTo:Take pain pills and alcohol in a lethal mix and be done with it. Suicidal whiners. Aleister 11:09 15-1-'13

Why don't we polish the wording a bit more, it could be better and maybe not as long. How about waiting a day or two. And can't we put the pic of Oscar Wilde on the right side of the page, where the stupid immature template is now? He's our patron saint, and should be present for this debacle. Thanks. I'll go back and tweak what we have. I don't recall consensus on adding the kitties in the first place, btw.                               Puppy's talk page10:58 15 Jan
Let me know when you're done tweaking and I'll tweak a tweak or two. Romartus, have you checked out the forum about "Please give us our traffic numbers", it looks like Sannse will grant us one admin to go in and research and look around. Kind of like an audience with the pope. You want to see the guy, but you're worried you're going to fart at just the wrong moment. Red Aleister Let our people go
I will check with ChiefjusticeDS. I expect he will be the one to have this access as he is (a) the senior sysops here and (b) I wouldn't understand the data at a technical level. Puppy, regards the kittens, I had thought it had been put there by Lyrithya in default of anyone else making a decision to comply with a welcome template. Or was it Simslikesims as it was originally signed in her name? Anyway Oscar over kitties in my view. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 07:32, January 16, 2013 (UTC)
Lyr put it there. Sims suggested the old wording for the warning. There wasn't a vote on that or on the kitties. Numerous proposals were put up for the warning - after all it's the ultimate feature - but Lyr said something along the lines of “Does anyone object to pink kittens?” And the only response was from me saying - “yeah, why not”. I assume Lyr also adjusted the wording to the Sim's variant, but I never bothered to check. Content clown was a later addition, but that never felt like Lyr's style. I assume the forum was around the same time as PLS, given that's when the Argh Isle variant appeared. I may be slightly off in my recollection, but I think the forum never created a consensus vote. I could look it all up, but UN:N.
I'd rather we voted prior to wording change, but the active community (in that forum at least), and our resident Wikia link, appear to feel we're on the right track. The pink kitties seem to have universal dislike though. But we can take it all to vote if you like.                               Puppy's talk page11:15 16 Jan
That's Ok with me. Will give a chance for those active here to voice their opinion. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 12:17, January 16, 2013 (UTC)

edit User pages

I don't much care what anyone puts on his user page, but you might investigate the following at your leisure:

  • Derkommander0916 has predominantly contributed by adding to articles derogatory comments on officials from Southeast Asia, never with cleverness nor context for English-speakers. It is usually I reverting him. He has resuscitated the most intricate change onto his user page, the goal presumably not being humor but anonymous political criticism. I went to Funnybony and told him he was "uniquely situated" to clean up the subject pages but he replied that he was uniquely unsuited, suggesting that this stuff is tracked down and punished in that part of the world.
  • StupidBunny (who is nominated for Admin after all of 444 edits on the website) yesterday enhanced his user page as a directory to his non-humor contributions elsewhere on the web. Spıke Ѧ 14:48 17-Jan-13
Left a message on Derk's page. I don't know about what can and can't go on a user page as regards Stupid Bunny's links to the other sites. Maybe the Chief knows that. Yes I saw the nom. This seems to be a UN-sanctioned program for what should be taught in US high schools that is driving conservatives batty. Not saying you shouldn't have tagged the article Unfunny. Also, Puppy has QVFD'd it and claims it came from the mirror site. Spıke Ѧ 04:10 18-Jan-13

You will have to fill me in as regards the connection between the IB and the UN. There is one in France and the British government wants their own version. Don't know where the UN comes into the argument but I would like a link to follow that for my own political curiosity. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 15:31, January 18, 2013 (UTC)
It came from here, but it had been deleted in the past (more than once, if memory serves) even though a copy was retained at the mirror. I seem to recall that someone wanted to re-instate this several times in the past. Much like the person who keeps trying to re-instate the old version of Nobody. It's not spam, but whoever keeps recreating it has no intention of improving it or allowing it to be improved, which just limits the struggle against randumbo. We are running a VFS, and should be voting on the top 10 of 2012. Those that have left are working deliberately to sever all links to this site - literally. Is it time to change the banner?                               Puppy's talk page01:30 19 Jan

Hear hear! Spıke Ѧ 13:45 19-Jan-13
Perhaps even a new edition of the UnSignpost. I'd provide some content, but as funny as I could make current events (recent transactions with both the Fork site and with Wikia) might come off as distinctly unfunny. Spıke Ѧ 13:50 19-Jan-13
You mean MediaWiki:Sitenotice? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 13:59, January 19, 2013 (UTC)
That is surely what he means. Despite providing the mandatory one-level-of-indirection, it is still using Wikia's resources with the overt intent of siphoning off Wikia's traffic. Spıke Ѧ 14:03 19-Jan-13
OK I will ask Sannse and ChiefJustice. Last time we changed this it ended up in a revert war. Modus left me instructions how to do the top 10 of 2012 so I will do that first. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 14:08, January 19, 2013 (UTC)

edit Please mark stuff patrolled

When you deal with a contribution with a post-edit (as at 8:50 and 8:51 UTC), please remember to clear the Patrol flag from the contributor's edits, so none of the rest of us patrollers have to also look at it. Cheers. Spıke Ѧ 14:28 21-Jan-13

Er… Spike… I the patrolled one of yours earlier you neglected to mark as patrolled. Just thought I'd mention it.                               Puppy's talk page02:53 21 Jan

That's always a possibility. I usually run with JavaScript off due to my metered Internet, and try to turn it on when on Patrol to use BB's script for marking messages, but mistakes happen. Spıke Ѧ 15:12 21-Jan-13

edit The Donate Button that was just added to the sidebar

Shouldn't be on here for obvious reasons. Hopefully, you or another admin can remove it before Evil Wikia has to take action. --Mn-z 20:21, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

Sneaky! I saw Sannse's message. The sidebar points to Facebook and Twitters accounts but those are under the control of Forked Unc - i.e. EMC/Hotadmin I believe. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 23:18, January 21, 2013 (UTC)
Sannse has reverted the edit and issued a warning. Spıke Ѧ 23:23 21-Jan-13
We still have potential issues relating to links in sidebar. I've mentioned more detail on Spike's talk page.                               Puppy's talk page11:40 21 Jan
I just rolled back, but it definitely needs a more careful look and decisions on what should be there -- sannse@fandom (talk) 23:43, January 21, 2013 (UTC)
OK. Thanks Sannse. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 23:51, January 21, 2013 (UTC)
I just read the talk-page stuff Puppy references. The summary: Four other links in the Sidebar with money implications might have been diverted away from Wikia Uncyclopedia. For example, the Uncyclopedia Store is now in .co--Isn't that strange? Spıke Ѧ 23:59 21-Jan-13
I don't know the answer. Were they set up outside Wikia by others? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 00:07, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
