Lesotho

Sorry, I thought we're allowed to reverse it if we thought it was a mistake. Im new on here so I don't really understand how everything works yet. I don't think my article is the funniest of articles on here but there wasnt an existing article on Lesotho, and the instructions for making new articles say to come up with an original idea. And I looked at articles on existing African countries and I found more than a few of them quite similar to eachother. So I tried to come up with an original idea, about the Soviet elite colonising Lesotho in 1991. Besides I realised that it wouldnt be that funny if the whole article was based on communism, so I have put quite a lot of other stuff in it. Yeah I think I know what you mean about categorising it bit better now, and i think ill edit some of the less funny stuff out as well. --Steveyt0 (talk) 20:15, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

OK no problem. The article is ok. New users are encouraged to start off in their own user space (sandbox) like this Steveyt0/article name which means you can work on it in private before launching it into the main space. Otherwise it will get tagged, My tag was a 30 day one which should give enough time for you to get an article tidied up so it doesn't get deleted. One final thing. Can you post messages at the bottom of the page instead of here as everything runs chronologically? Thanks. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 20:22, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

It's not bad at all but needs some fine tuning. To keep within the spirit of the writing, some of words like 'bumfuck' need to change to be replaced by something that means the same but is less direct. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 23:41, February 18, 2012 (UTC)

Zana Dark and Fair

Hello. I left a note under your note on Zana's talk page. One of my associate legal team members will look there later, and tell me if anyone has answered it. Money or things involved. Kindly yours, Aleister, member, uncy legal team 13:20 16-2-'12 (this counts as another hour)

OK thanks Aleister. I don't know how you expect Zana to answer there as she is banned and any sock puppetry will extend the infinite. The only other avenue is to go on IRC, though Zana is banned there too (I checked). --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 13:50, February 16, 2012 (UTC)
What, you asked me to represent you? OK, now you owe me lots of money and things. I don't have my documents with me, but in the conditions Zana was given she was asked not to revert any articles, unless it was into her user space, which she did with Turd (I believe that's the pages name). Then TFK asked her to either mainspace it or get rid of it, so she mainspaced it. Then DrSkullthumper saw that she had mainspaced it and booted her. This just seemed to me to be a comedy of errors like in the Marx Brothers, only Zeppo got to come back sometimes. Those two points - the direction to put deleted things onto her userspace followed by being asked to mainspace it, then being banned for mainspacing it - should free her from her exile, unless I am mistaken. This will count as 5 hours legal money. As you are Zana's legal guardian here, you can see if I am correct and then follow up with appropriate legal authorities, or, since you are now one of those, unban her yourself. That advice is another hour of legal. Should you need further assistance in this please let me know through contact with my secretary (who enjoys lots of contact). Sincerely, Aleister, at the bar 13:58 16-2-'12
I asked the good Doctor Skullthumper when on IRC. He said the infinite ban was because Zana had reverted TKF and RAHB on an edit regards Turd. I also saw your forum quote as well and I think I mentioned that too. Perhaps this needs more 'legal' work and an appeal to the Ministry of Love for a reconsideration. Ok..do you have a wig? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 14:13, February 16, 2012 (UTC)

Your edit conflicted me as the exact evidence was being introduced, from a wigged guy. So:

Exhibit one, the log from Turd (which was later redirected to Feces):

(cur | prev) 16:52, February 9, 2012 Zombiebaron (Talk | contribs) m (19 bytes) (Please do not recreate deleted content) (rollback | undo)
(cur | prev) 09:02, February 7, 2012 Zana Dark (Talk | contribs) m (3,319 bytes) (undo)
(cur | prev) 07:20, February 7, 2012 Zana Dark (Talk | contribs) (3,184 bytes) (There are plenty of shorter, @#!*% (pun intended) articles for Zombiebaron to delete and Kermit to rollback. You guys gay for me or what?) (undo)
(cur | prev) 04:39, February 7, 2012 Thekillerfroggy (Talk | contribs) (19 bytes) (a lil bit. mainspace it or dont space it at all) (undo)
(cur | prev) 04:28, February 7, 2012 Zana Dark (Talk | contribs) m (33 bytes) (U care?) (undo)
(cur | prev) 06:19, February 5, 2012 RAHB (Talk | contribs) (19 bytes) (←Redirected page to Feces)

In this example of logs, Zana asked for permission to do something, in the words of the bard "U care?" (I think that she was user spacing it, if I recall my associate's research). TKF gave permission to mainspace it. The all the other stuff, Zombiebaron reverting TKF's directive, and maybe, pure conjuncture, Dr.ST read that line and thought that the rules applied to Zana had been broken, when if fact they weren't at all, at all. Give me my lawyer money now, or you will be sued by many lawyers, that's how we do things in lawyerworld. Aleister later in the hearings

No Win, No Fee. And I can see that wig has been rented Al (I saw it last on Paul Giamatti in John Adams) . Are we playing by American or British legal rules here? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 14:42, February 16, 2012 (UTC)
John Adams was horrible, the series not the guy, because Paul G is so unbelievable as a morose Adams. On this thing, it just seemed when TFK told Zana "mainspace it or don't space it at all", and then she mainspaced it and got banned for it, that there was no wrong done. Seems a simple misunderstanding of sequence of events. Maybe this was all there was to it, unless there are facts I'm not aware of because of my outdated (1931) legal books which have been passed down and used for legal matters for generations (us Chains family don't trust no modern law). Aleister 17:45 16-2-'12

Exhibit two: The terms of Zana's UN:Office stay include the first term:

||User Restrictions||

  • Zana shall not breach rule 2 under any circumstances, this includes reverting administrator edits (except to her own userspace) at any time.
It seems the key phrase here is "except to her own userspace", which she did with Turd, and then got permission to mainspace it from TFK, did so, and then was taken off-site. This does seem, to this legal team member registered to play guitar before the Supreme Court, fairly cut and dried. I may rest my case soon, but it's handcuffed to my wrist and @#!*% if I will cut the wrist off just to slide it off. Aleister 2:18 17-2-'12
In the less important argument, you can say that "except to her own userspace" is the key term. True, there was a mixup where I mistakenly thought that her userspaced article was a work in progress and not deleted content when I gave her permission to mainspace it (after she created a userspace redirect, which is something you shouldn't do anyway). Skullthumper's reason (whose ban I am not going to overturn) missed the point by narrowing in on this misunderstanding, though. Both you and Skullthumper's reason are breezing past the most important part of her Office regulation:
"Zana shall not breach rule 2 under any circumstances".
In the logs for Turd (which I had not seen past my own edit until after Skully's ban), and her talk page, Zana displayed the same passive-aggressive, egotistical dickishness that earned her the last 3 infinite bans. If I had seen her edit summary immediately following my initial revert earlier, I would have banned her on the spot. So no, Zana Dark is not getting unbanned. You can keep playing legal if you want, but there are no loopholes that can bring her back. She has been given more passes than anyone reasonably ever needs. It ends now. --Littleboyonly TKFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK Oldmanonly 10:10, February 17, 2012 (UTC)
And slowly the distant memory of Zana fades away into the shadows of the loopholes and the valley of three infinite bans. Ashes fly into the island of banning on the spot and the heavenly rings of the "IT ENDS NOW!!!" sea. RIP Zana Dark. Shhhhhhhhh. Silence. --ShabiDOO 00:35, February 18, 2012 (UTC)
Zana who? Pup 03:27 18 Feb '12
Just mentioning all of this because I checked and the ban seemed to have holes in it, which you kind of confirm, some miscomunication seems to have occurred there. Now the edit summary is the new reason for the already established ban. Was it really that dickish of a comment, seemed like a couple asides talking about the ongoing actions. Zana plays hard, yet lots of people like the good side of ZD, and as a new user I learned a lot from Zana. My legal language comes from joining her legal team, where I am licensed to play guitar before the United States Supreme Court. I understand your reason too, as you guys apparantly went through a lot with Zana, so what seems meh to some of us means more to you. Zana wouldn't have lasted very long anyway, given the rules about future conduct, but that's both or neither near or deer. Aleister 3:29 18-2-'12

Hello Romartus, I have a question

Hello Romartus, thanks for the article of the Debtocratic bankrupt Republic of Greece lol, I have made some small color fixes to the official flag of the country, and I want your opinion on it. New flag Image here:

debtocraticrepublicofgr.png

What do you think of the picture? About the edits I did to it: Notable change is that I added some coins above the hat, which are making the hat a more obvious reference to the bankruptcy of the country and the help it receives from Eurozone and the IMF. Also the flag's color has been corrected to be more close to the dark deep blue color, the official flag of the state. I could put the image in the Discussion Page of the corresponding article but just asking for your opinion ^_^ The preceding unsigned comment was added by SilentResident (talk • contribs)

Those are coins, I thought they were bubbles coming out of the hat, which made me smile. Romartus, doesn't seem like any admins are around. No one has changed the new features in a couple of days, and since I have my first of the year coming up this concerns me ungreatly. Thanks. Aleister 18:05 21-2-'12
Silent Resident, the new Greek flag is very apt. Good image. I hope you can add and tidy up the main article too. I threw in a few ideas, all grossly unfair to Greece but without being stupid. I will check the featuring page as that is something I haven't done yet. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 19:57, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

Had to change that one line. It's debatable point, but I seem to recall that while it wasn't as common in society, homosexuality was prevalent in the military. BNW

Thanks for replying. (Note that SPIKE replied as well, on his page -- and then deleted the entire exchange. If this is common practice, what's the point of having talk pages at all? Why didn't he reply to me on mine?)

I don't believe that I was too confrontational in response to a deletion with an insulting comment, but YMMV.

Yes, my jokes were on the juvenile side -- but I thought the criterion here was "funny vs stupid," not "profound vs juvenile." Some of them, as SPIKE said, were indeed puns on characters' names; some weren't.

Oh well. It's his article.

Stumbo (talk) 06:07, March 8, 2012 (UTC)

Well as long as it is resolved then the matter can be iced for now!. BTW. Can you tighten up your paragraphs and not leave so much space between each line? Otherwise a discussion like this can spread over a lot of electronic real estate! You'll know what I mean by looking at the discussions on this page. Regards humour/humor, I think it makes an article better if it is done within a certain style but can indeed be changed for something different. The best articles here are solo efforts, sometimes collabs or with others joining but going alone with the general tone of what is being attempted. When you have a whole range of approaches in one single article, the result is usually an unreadable mess. Good luck. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 07:12, March 8, 2012 (UTC)

Can you restore some pages for me?

These are both userboxes that are transcluded onto my userpage, and it doesn't look that great right now. So please? I know it might look like I feel one way one week then another way the next, but no. I'm trying to make it easier to put my userpage together through a more modular design (i.e. all my userboxes in a separate file (/ubx), and all my personally created userboxes as subpages of /ubx). And I probably wasn't clear enough before. --Qzekrom sig trans Cute Zekrom! Use Fusion Bolt NOW!! • It's super effective!23:21 09 Mar '12

Drop anchor, come on board. BTW if you add something to your user page you will cease to be a 'red linker', a grade of user above I.P. but below a regular user. If you want to be 'adopted' (i.e. make sure you don't get into a ruck with another user or worse), I can do that for you (see my user page to see what I mean). --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 14:17, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

I don't really understand that whole adoption thing. Could you explain it a little better?

Also, about Wikipedia linking on "borderline crap" articles, what exactly do you mean? What was a page I edited that was deemed borderline crap? Anyways, no problem, I'll try to make some material around here funnier if I feel the need to. :)

Nicolas-1223 (talk) 04:20, March 14, 2012 (UTC)

Hi Nic. Regards linking a page Jabba the Hutt to wikipedia, I judged that page in need of work as others were 'fly tipping' on it before your edit (adding one liners to an overall badly constructed article). I removed the real rubbish and restored the link for now. Many articles just need tidying up to make them look presentable. Also if you go into the history of a page (as in Wikipedia), sometimes you can find a better version of it before others anon started to dump their stuff in there. Regards writing, if the article isn't my own, I try to extend or improve it if possible, often by simply adding some images. Original work is also important and I might add, there is no real set style for humour here. Stuff I like, others don't and vice versa. If you go to the VFH page (go via Help to see what I mean), all users have a chance to vote for, vote against or abstain/comment on an article.
The adoption process here means that if a new user (noob) has a question, they can ask their adopter. By having an adopter means that if you get into a problem with an another admin on this site or get involved in what we call 'an edit war', you will have a friend on this site. If you want 'adoption', then I can put a ribbon on your user page to signify this. It is not compulsory to be 'adopted' (I wasn't when I came here for example) but it helps a new comer get more of a 'feel' for this site by asking people who have been here for some years. In my case, since December 2008. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 07:11, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
I wasn't adopted either, and I feel no resentment toward the cold hearted English @#!*% who turned down my request for adoption at all.                               Puppy's talk page05:11 18 Mar

Thunderbirds

I have always disliked the last paragraph of the intro. Nothing about it is either true or based on anything; its only feature is that it is crisp on a superficial level, less so now with your edit. Canada does have a weak spot for multiculturalism, but when it comes to media, it is instead xenophobic (with the 50% domestic-content requirement). Separately, in the caption under "Bombs for Belfast," I was trying to suggest car-bombs were an International Rescue, and don't understand your addendum. Spıke ¬ 22:37 21-Mar-12

PS--I have more to say, now, after you on Talk:Thunderbirds. Spıke ¬ 22:42 21-Mar-12

Is a 50% domestic media requirement a xenophobic one? Given that allows for 50% of non-domestic product, and the remainder has no restriction on what cultural basis it comes from, that doean't seem too xenophobic too me, just a legislative means of ensuring that a national media remains vibrant. We have similar restrictions in Australia, and imnho the "domestic" output often contains a more xenophobic bias. The non-domestic is often US based, and that is predominantly US-centric. (To the point that I can recognise various street locations in New York and have a mental map of the landscape. More so than I do of Sydney. I've never been to New York, but I have been on the outskirts of Sydney.)                               Puppy's talk page11:24 21 Mar
Removed the paragraph. The line about Canada was something I was reminded off when I used to go there some years back, the difference between the supposed 'melting pot' of the USA compared to Canada's overt multicultural approach. Perhaps 'quota' would have been better. Regards diversity in home grown v international production, that always depends on how countries deal with other people's shows. I am under the impression that the USA audiences are the least exposed to non-American product. Thunderbirds (which is where this all started) was voiced with American sounding voices for the main heroes except for 'Brains', Lady Penelope and Parker. The villians usually had fake Russian accents or at least, non-Anglo-Saxon voices. Perhaps there is a thesis to be written here somewhere! --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 07:18, March 22, 2012 (UTC)
Read 4Kids at some stage for Americaniszation of content. I also looked up the Canadian MAPL system today. I never realised that Brian Adams songs were a relevant instigator for major legislative change.                               Puppy's talk page07:29 22 Mar

Obviously, "xenophobia" is the wrong word, as I am no expert on the Canadian psyche. I meant only to argue that the basis for the paragraph in question was randomness, on which Romartus has concurred. America's own apparent xenophobia is because we know nothing about other countries (far too little to fear them), which is a system that has always worked fine for us. Spıke ¬ 18:26 22-Mar-12

That's a rather stupid statement. "We know nothing of other cultures and that works for us." It's like the schoolyard bully saying that hitting other kids is okay because it doesn't hurt the bully. It's a sadly myopic world view, backed by no small degree of arrogance. The problem with myopia is that it causes you to accept that your culture is ideal as you have no yardstick by which to measure it. I'm not saying that Australia - or at least the prevailing "white" Australia - is much better, just that ignorance is not strength.                               Puppy's talk page11:47 22 Mar
I don't mind a healthy exchange of views Puppy but can we avoid the personal when discussing? Thanks. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 07:06, March 23, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry. I meant to point out the inherit fallacy of the statement. I wasn't saying that SPIKE was stupid. (It was first thing in morning post for me, so less elegant than intended.)                               Puppy's talk page07:51 23 Mar

All things they lead to Roma

Here's a tread you might like, I haven't read it as yet but it's on Above Top Secret's top 10 of all time list. It's best to read ATS stuff, if you aren't a member, by signing up as a member even if you never post. That way you bypass lots of their ads, but not all of them. I'm going to do a page on ATS, yet in the meantime I'm collecting interesting threads for posting on the page. Quantum and lots of other stuff. Aleister 2:07 26-3'12

Is that a site for the true believers in conspiracy theories or a spoof? Dan Brown for Pope. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 08:11, March 26, 2012 (UTC)
Either true believers or anti-believers or just for the fun of stretching the mind. I've found it to be an all-purpose site, with current news of earthquakes, etc. most valuable (their coverage of the quake and nuclear tragedy in Japan was the best I've seen). Like any site it has the morons playing with quick strikes of stupidness or long threads of fear that a planet is coming around the sun to kill us all (it isn't, in case other users read this, as the gravitational effects of the death planet, as I like to call it when it's settlers gather around my yard, would have been seen by amateur astronomers long ago), but then it has highly competent people creating in-depth threads on interesting topics. When logged in the viewing changes to avatars posting, and flags awarded by users indicate the good posts and good threads (although many good new topic threads are lost because they flow by too fast, which is where the "search" section comes in handy). I've enjoyed it, and when a major news item breaks I usually will check out the resulting threads there. Lots of geeks play there. Long story short, yes, Dan Brown for Pope (although I've called dibs on the next one - Fadda Murphy!) Aleister 11:50 26-3-'12

Jeez, it'd be fun to join the three of you for a long dinner at a good Indian resturant after a pre-dinner toking party. I haven't read the thread, it looked like one Romartus would like from the title and a quick glance at the first page. Robert Anton Wilson said that a conspiracy is what someone and their friends talk about and do (or words close to that) and that everyone should do that. I think over the ages the groups you mention have always nurtured a lot of intelligent friends in high places who together, after a dinner at a good Indian resturant, can shape societal thought patterns by controlling information outlets and access to data - although the printing press shot a hole through that one quite late in the game. The Romas, in their main duo forms, do or have in the past obtained and held control over quite a bit of mental and physical territory, imnho, judging from following the threads of life experiences and seeing who was pulling on them. Thanks for the lube tube link, although it "feels" too tedious to watch. A few minutes of it can't hurt though. Al (U) (T) (C)
It's one version of history which says similar things about Rome. Not all roads lead there though, and where did rome come from? :P The ring of power is similar to the Zeitgeist series in places, but with even more craziness/ @#!*% mixed in. Most of the info in both comes from a dude called Jordan Maxwell who is a very interesting dude indeed. Along with Bill Cooper, Jordan Maxwell is worth taking a look at. As with so many others who talk about such subjects, with Maxwell he is interesting so long as you can get over/ignore the crazy stuff, and just pick out and research what you yourself might consider worth further investigation. Regards the link to the bat house documentary, only the last 30 minutes is worth watching - sort of. It's basically another Protocols of the Elders of Zion with the British and Danish royal families thrown in. Appears to have been recorded by a woman sitting on her settee with a cheap microphone. Terrible in all senses. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 14:26, March 26, 2012 (UTC)
You watched it? Wow. That takes some sitting through! Yea... It is pointing the finger in the direction of one particular group of people which is what the protocols were also trying to do. Which is obviously wrong... I'm not sure all of what she says is bat house however. Just some of it. MrN Icons-flag-gb HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png Fork you! 14:41, Mar 26
I was watching a debate recently talking about conspiracy theories, amongst other things. There was a quote in there (that I won't do justice) where it was said that the minds behind certain conspiracy theories don't need to meet in order to plan a conspiracy. If you have numerous groups with the same interest they will act toward that interest, wether they conspire directly or not. I just thought I'd share that.                               Puppy's talk page02:50 26 Mar

I just read the first page and he started losing me at Noah's ark and Troy. I passed the link on to you because of the pics, they looked like the pics you like on pages. And the Roma stuff. But it turns out the guy with the initial thread isn't a very good writer. This thread goes on for hundreds of pages, I think, it would be quite a task to read it all. It should help that they star comments, so I may just read the multi-starred ones and sample some of the rest. Aleister 19:01 26-3

This user created Francisco Goya, an article originally requested on Uncyclopedia:Requested Articles. Good for them us!
(If awarding yourself please update the award statistics)

Congrats on that award. I have no issue with people using the Bible as a literal truth, as long as they have a non-religious source as their primary. It is a historical document, and there is some merit in using it. Given other historical evidence, I would suggest that the Egyptians had slaves (ie. they built huge pyramid tombs) and other historical and sociological evidence shows that slaves generally come from another cultural group (ie Jews). That is about as far as I'll take it though. Saying that there was a guy named Noah who built a ship that carried two of every species is unlikely to be accurate, but that there is archeological evidence of a world wide flood (which is supported by numerous creation myths) suggests that there may be some veracity. But using that tenuous thread to support anything else is a stretch.                               Puppy's talk page08:01 27 Mar

That was a very impressive turn around from taking it on board to delivery. Obviously you knew the topic, but being able to get that much out of it that fast was fantastic work. Well deserved nom, and if there was another award I could give you I would, but I am out of cookies and last time I gave someone a ninja star I nearly took their eye out.                               Puppy's talk page01:02 08 Apr

I second the Puppy's words, except for the eyes out. Since I enjoy that ATS website here is an on-topic Olympic page which I haven't read past the first few posts. I must now go vote for the page on what we here call VFH. Nice work. Aleister 13:03 Bunny Hunting Day '12
Will add another coat of paint whilst it sits on VFH. I had hoped to improve the RMS Titanic article but that still looks a bit clunky for a nomination. Still, the Olympic story was relatively straight forward once you can run with an idea. It also reminded me of the great Dreadnought arms race between Britain and Germany and how that was obviously carried over in the development of the super liners. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 14:01, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

Historically speaking

What are you thoughts on User:PuppyOnTheRadio/History of the world? I'm obviously still working on it, and the latter half is pure WP text, with a few paragraphs from the current Complete History of the World thrown in, but just want to get an idea from someone who probably has more historical knowledge than I do,and good at rewriting historical stuff, that I'm at least heading in the right direction.                               Puppy's talk page12:54 09 Apr

This is a vast undertaking! How to boil everything down to the bare essentials, though with an obvious bias to the Western narrative. As ever, how much can you presume a reader will know about the subject? Too much detail and the article will lengthen, too little and it will appear as a string of disconnected ideas. It will also need a POV or at least, some themes that could be spelt out in the intro. Perhaps an Idiots Guide approach...but that may have been done. Let me think about It further. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 14:02, April 9, 2012 (UTC)
The Western bias is actually a bit of an issue for me. It has that be because (a) The WP article and the current UN article have that bias, (b) English language historical texts generally have that bias and (c) I know sweet FA about Eastern history. They mentioned on QI the other night that much of Eastern technology - particularly China's, was slowed due to a love of tea. Because of this China (ceramic) was used more than glass, which meant glass work was not as advanced, which meant no windows, glass lanterns, spectacles, microscopes or telescopes. Interesting theory, and I might even work that in here, along with how tea was responsible for other historical events (ie Growth of agriculture, Boston Tea Party, English expansion into India, etc). It's the best I have as an overall angle so far, but much like History of Great Britain it has to be a significant length article as there is a lot to cover and a lot where you cannot rely on reader's foreknowledge. But it's on my hitlist and lays the foundations for aspects of technology, philosophy, and other stuff.                               Puppy's talk page12:44 10 Apr
Puppy is becoming like the Neal Stephenson of Uncyclopedia. Aleister 00:48 10-4-'12
Longer hair, shorter beard.                               Puppy's talk page12:54 10 Apr
China's history is very interesting. If measured against other states, it remained the most advanced state in the world until the 18th century. Technologically and on industrial capacity, China was the leader. Yet it fell behind through a combination of conservative bureaucratic system and an inability to reform to face the challenge from the expanding British empire. The first Opium war was an example of this and then the long Taiping rebellion weakened it further. So other European powers took advantage, the absolute nadir for China was the Boxer Rebellion and humiliation that followed. If the Europeans and Americans don't remember these events, the Chinese have not forgotten. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 09:08, April 15, 2012 (UTC)
Not my forté, but the little reading I have done suggests that there is a lot more of interest in Chinese history than I originally thought. Much the same as Indian history is more fascinating than I first thought. My problem is that the more I delve into any one part of the tapestry, the more that this extends into an out of control juggernaut. I'm limiting myself to what was in the WP article and parts of what were in the original article here. I've cut out a lot of the references to Christianity and particularly the Catholic church as while I enjoy writing articles that can be critical of the church(es), I want to keep this as NPOV as possible. I'm all but cutting out Indian history because we have so few articles that look at India in any depth, and the bulk of our readership is US, UK, or other English speaking nations. If I go too far outside of what is relatively common knowledge in these countries I'll lose so much of the audience. The aspect of what is included and excluded is a nightmare in and of itself, and then to make the included aspects funny is another challenge again. I'll get to the latter half this week (I hope) and then sit back, re-read it, trim out the deadwood, and then expand it again. Or I may leave it as is if it works. (And I thought mathematics was hard!)                               Puppy's talk page12:00 15 Apr

ATS

Saw your comments. It's just a site I like, and lots of other people do (it's actually well known and populated with viewers and users), and the article was a way of linking things I found interesting. Little more than that, just sharing information with people. If it gets featured I'll let them know on a new thread over there, so they could share in the fun - some people seem to like the article over there. And more eyes for each site too. Thanks for reading it, and if anything stands out as needing fixing besides the list, please do so or let me know. I still think the list is the heart of the page though. Some really good stuff in there (their thread on the nuclear situation in Japan, for example, runs something like 1,425 pages). Aleister 20:37 14-4

I wasn't against the article as such (which is why I abstained), just wasn't sure the website was featurable. And on the last hand, sticky with bodily fluids but...". Maybe type in "On one hand" before "it's a place..." and where it says "on the last hand" maybe "on the other hand". Maintenance crap is essential. It doesn't take too long for any website to turn into real crap if no one is checking it. There is a mirror version of Uncyclopedia that was supposed to be run as a back up by another user. That person has disappeared but the site remains and is run by a vandal (though they have no admin rights). That place is a warning to all who prefer a more anarchic approach, you end up with an unmitigated mess. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 06:02, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

I guess so. I just find "maintenance crap" to be addicting because it makes me 1% closer to "Junior Adminship" (a rank used on Bulbapedia) without actually having those admin rights because if I was suddenly made admin that business would suck the life out of me. Hi

Your detective skills are astounding, very well done. I also like the picture you added to my talkpage, even though I don't get it :D ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) Icons-flag-au 23:16, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

Um...

Hi, I think you accidentally moved KJUHoPaANB to Qzekrom/Kim Jong Un's House of Party and All Night Buffet rather than to User:Qzekrom/KJU etc. I already moved them, huff requested. Thanks! --Qzekrom sig trans This has been an automated message by Cute Zekrom (talk) 00:17, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

Byte hway, is there a template I can use to allow "vandalism" on my userpage? (ex. "Feel free to edit, modify, vandalize, and/or otherwise degrade this page - I care not!") --Qzekrom sig trans This has been an automated message by Cute Zekrom (talk) 01:51, April 21, 2012 (UTC)
On the first - should have left it where it was - a rollbacker could have moved and supressed redirect, now only and admin can delete the redirect. Better to pop the redirect of QVFD as an author request though. On the second - there isn't one until you make it, but if you just put something on there that says "Vandalise below this line" people will get the hint.                               Puppy's talk page01:55 21 Apr

By the way

Much congrats go out to you for your tenure as an admin! You are very helpful! And when did you happen to know a guy was also an ED editor? Just curious to know how you know. I think he should have disclosed it. Snowflake mini Mattsnow 03:11, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

Given it's protected, could you remove the Category:Redirects with possibilities?                               Puppy's talk page05:32 21 Apr

You mean delete it? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 08:58, April 21, 2012 (UTC)
I semi-ed it; that way if someone wants to add an article, they're free to. In general though, even if a page is protected people can still create a copy in their userspace and then get an admin to do the moving or whatnot. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 21:12, 21 April 2012

Re: Lesotho (again)

Hey, I think I've just about finished with this article now. You said that the communism thing was a bit of a laboured joke, and if I could make it more interesting. So I've added in some new stuff that has nothing to do with communism. Do you think its an improvement? And if it's decent enough not to get deleted? --Steveyt0 (talk) 17:54, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

OK I will have another look. Thanks for coming back to me on the article. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 08:15, April 24, 2012 (UTC)
I had another look. Just a bit puzzled why you picked on Lesotho. I see you have mixed Communism, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Family Guy in there. To be honest, I don't see it as a feature but at least you completed it and looks tidy on the page. In my own experience, it takes awhile to get a 'style' here and to know what to write about and how. My own production here is of a certain style, though I have tried to write about a range of subjects. I also like to contribute to other articles where sometimes half an idea (or a third of an idea) can be incorporated into a more collaborative finished product. So besides writing your own articles, look at contributors here. Uncyclopedia:Hall_of_Shame. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 10:19, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

Hi

Since you feel so uncomfortable about me being an ED admin and being this close to an uncyclopedia admin I want to set some things straight. I am not angry at you, as you are not the one to be somewhat skeptical to this being brought to light. But I will attempt to convince you what I have convinced others:

  • Yes I am Oblique on Encyclopedia Dramatica, I do not deny this. Now I put to you why should this be a big deal to me or anyone? Many folks on this wiki have edited ED at some point. Mattsnow came from ED originally and is now a much resepected member of our community. User:Tasmania got banned from ED and migrated over, again a well settled member of the community. And lastly Codeine editted ED and uncyc at the same time (yes it was a while ago) as stated here and nobody cared too much about that. I ask why I'm a conflict of interest now, and he wasn't considering one at the time?
  • I made not a great deal of effort to cover it up I used the EDiot template on my page, my userpage over there is very similar to the one here and the style of editing is very similar. It was not hard to put 2 and 2 together.
  • I am not and never will will be for vandalism here this is just common sense. I have used hours of my own time to clean up this wiki, and been told many times I would make a good sysop and would be a very good contender in a VFS. Simply blowing it by vandalizing a wiki I've edited and loved for over 1 and a half years, aside from being downright stupid is something I would never do. I do not promote vandalism against uncyclopedia on ED. Period.
  • I have no interest what so ever in becoming a bureaucrat ever on this site. Feel free to quote that in the future.

I would like a reply when you have time :) ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) Icons-flag-au 07:59, April 24, 2012 (UTC)
I did say Frosty you haven't done anything here that has caused my concern but my general point about a conflict of interest at the level of admin does remain for everyone who could find themselves in the same position. I don't mind any user going from here to Encyclopedia Dramatica or back if they want to. Some minor admin rights are also ok for me but full sysop, I just don't think it is wise if that person also holds the same role or more at ED. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 08:05, April 24, 2012 (UTC)
Point of interest: Lyrithya is also an admin at ?pedia. Also, the "Support/Oppose" thing is confusing. From what I understand Lyrithya was using that as a non-vote (or "!vote"). Would you mind clarifying if it's a vote of an opinion on the comment, so it's a little easier to follow? (Sorry if that comes across as accusatory or whiney or anything. It's meant to be a neutral comment and a request for clarity. I'm trying to avoid creating more drama, rather than being dramatic.)

                              Puppy's talk page08:56 24 Apr

I know Lyrithya is an admin on Illogicopedia but I don't see that website in the same way as ED (though I once did some years ago). The only line I would like to see made is that an admin on Uncyclopedia can't have the same role on ED. Perhaps the issue of conflicts of interest can be decided by a wider group about where it applies and where it does not. I am just stating my own personal unease about Frosty/Oblique situation and for long hesitated to bring this out. I did privately ask other admins what I should do and they said this issue should be aired to the wider community. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 09:24, April 24, 2012 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks for the clarification. So it's not a concern over the admin at two wiki's thing as much as it is about the fact that it's ED that's in question. (Side question: Is this the new ED at x.ch, or Oh Internet, or both?)                               Puppy's talk page09:59 24 Apr
ED are now at se (on the move again). Oh!Internet is now a meme directory from what I can see and therefore not in the same area as the old/new ED or Uncyclopedia. I don't object to ED's existence, just that I don't like sharing admins with them. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 10:14, April 24, 2012 (UTC)
Another storm of...oh, hi Romartus, didn't see you there. I just wanted to point out that Frosty has over 21,000 edits here, is an UotM winner, has been vigiliant in all areas of play and work, and is improving on those by the day. If he's admined, and finally gets to start his hidden agenda of vandalizing the wiki, then can't his powers be taken away? I don't like ED, so I don't go there, but Frosty seems to like it, and probably does a good job there too. I still think it's counterproductive to not just give a couple aussies the ban stick and a couple of other props, even if they don't have the title. Is there some written ignorable law that non-admins can't have some admin powers, say allowed to ban for 24-hours to give real admins the chance to review the ban? Aleister 13:49 24-4-'12
I don't think Frosty will wake up one day and say 'I want to vandalise Uncyclopedia', it is that I would prefer not to share an admin with another website like ED. So he could be an admin here but only if he dropped out as an admin at ED. This would apply to everyone who wanted to do a similar double act. It would be like Google and Yahoo sharing executives or Coca-Cola and Pepsi. ED is also different from other wikis where stuff here that can get you a ban is welcomed/celebrated over there. That is why I think they are different from, say Illogicopedia, Wikipedia or Above Top Secret. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 13:17, April 24, 2012 (UTC)
The admin "powers" can only be given with the title of admin. It's simply a way the the software functions. While there is a possibility of creating further user groups, it's at the mercy of Wikia, and would effectively be more complex to create this than it would warrant.
Romartus - you have an email when you get the chance to respond as well.                               Puppy's talk page01:26 24 Apr
Not seeing it yet. I tried to email you but you have switched off your email setting on uncy. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 13:41, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

Just to chip in, I think Romartus has made some sound points that really make Frosty very problematic - while being a lot more diplomatic about ED than I would care to be within other areas about character and moral turpitude. This VFS has been another unpleasant little power grab by small people on what should be a silly community of comedy writers.--Sycamore (Talk) 15:15, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

Forgot that I hadn't turned it back on. My bad.                               Puppy's talk page11:11 24 Apr
I'm still confused over your vote. Is it a vote against me or a comment? ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) Icons-flag-au 23:37, April 24, 2012 (UTC)
You have voted 3 times. You are only allowed to twice, you have to take on of them back. ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) Icons-flag-au 06:20, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for reminding me Frosty, amended. I voted against you Frosty as admin because of your admin post at Encyclopedia Dramatica. It's not because it is you Frosty but for the reasons our laid out above. I would have voted against anyone else in the same situation. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 06:26, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

spam problem

Some unregistered user @127.0.1.10 put something that looks like spam on my talk page. I have tolerance for spam most of the time, but this guy might have been using an open proxy based on the first two numbers in the IP address (127.0.1.10 is so close to 127.0.0.1 which we all know is an open proxy). Can you please look into this? --Qzekrom sig trans This has been an automated message by Cute Zekrom (talk) 20:23, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

Done. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 21:41, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

Hello Sir

Firstly let me say I totally understand your perspective on Frosty at VFS. I was wondering if you knew that in the past on Uncyc we have had users with sysop who were actually "janitors". These were guys who had been given sysop access over lot of different wikis to fight vandalism, but were not "full" admins on the site. They were allowed to issues short term blocks to obvious vandals, and delete vandal/UN:CBN type articles, but were not "allowed" to do other things such as clear out VFD, or UN:M. These days there is this thing which I think evolved from when they used to call them "janitors".

Anyway, I was wondering what your thoughts would be regarding Frosty on VFS on the understanding that he operate in the way described above. You might well feel that considering the circumstances you would still be uncomfortable with the situation in which case that's obviously your view... But I thought I would run the idea past you to see what your thought were, as something like this suggestion might perhaps also appeal to others who are not currently supporting him.

Anyway, just a thought. MrN Icons-flag-gb HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png Fork you! 14:40, Apr 25

I like this. I would still prefer to keep a bar on full adminship if a user is an admin at ED but a janitorial role would be ok with me with those restrictions. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 16:06, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
