Hey now! I think something was wrong with the sig you left in your vote for 21st century nazis, it threw the whole VFH table awry. I already fixed it.--DRStrangesig5 Sherman Fingertalk  17:11, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

You voted for my article? I saw the name Benedict Blade and realised I know you from somewhere - Illogicopedia. I'm Galanoth on Illogicopedia. Just thought that was kinda coincidental. No? Meh, okay then. --SadisticWolf 14:06, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

edit Sheffield

Thanks for getting rid of the Nigel Farage stuff as when I typed Sheffield and Nigel Farage into google there was nothing to show he won a seat there. I think it was a joke that because Sheffield is such a left-wing town the author joked that an extreme right-wing person won there. PS - When editing an article please make your facts fit in with the rest of the article. I did a touch up of the article this morning and set the population number at 300, you then re-wrote the intro with the population number of 500,000. You should have either changed my population number, been consistant with my population number or spoke to me about it. I have decided to be consitent with your population number and have changed mine now. Also please watch out what you delete I added a sentence to the end of the intro which you accidently deleted with the Nigel Farage stuff. I have re-added it. Thanks. Dittos, Turtle: You are doing the Lord's work. However, to earn your first VFD Save, don't just delete the Nigel Farage stuff but ensure that the article has a comedy theme of its own. Other points:
  • You inserted a Jimmy Savile child-molestation meme. I don't know that Savile has something to do with Sheffield; if not, this is the same technique that the previous Farage fan used. Tie it in for the benefit of us Colonials, or take it out.
  • I don't know that Sheffield has 500,000 residents. Please avoid using very large numbers that are obviously false--our dreaded "nonsense numbers." They aren't intensely funny but get in the way of the article superficially seeming to be factual. Spıke Ѧ 12:31 18-Jun-13
After some google research it seems that Savile may have a connection to Sheffield as Leeds United fans chanted, "There's only one Jimmy Savile" at a game against the Sheffield Wednesdays however that is my only proof. Sheffield has 550,000 residents so I shall update that. Thanks. Sir ScottPat (talk) White Ensign Scotland Flag 1 Compassrose VFH UnS NotM WotM WotY 13:41, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
PS - I have just read the part with Jimmy Savile in. I think this is fine as his name is used in a metaphor and therefore doesn't need to have a link to Sheffield. Rabies Turtle has provided a link for those of whom have not heard of Savile so that even Aussies and Americans and Indians and the like can understand the metaphor. Sir ScottPat (talk) White Ensign Scotland Flag 1 Compassrose VFH UnS NotM WotM WotY 13:49, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
Consideration for the reader requires more than that a connection exist somewhere. (Why did the fans chant that?) The reader needs to see a clever way that Savile belongs in the article; otherwise it is as much Random Humor as adding a paragraph on Hello Kitty. Spıke Ѧ 14:04 18-Jun-13
Appears I missed out a couple of things whilst removing all the Farage references from the article, sorry 'bout that. The 500,000 population count is actually roundabout to the actual population of Sheffield, and not a 'nonsense number', I'm sure you'll be glad to hear. Oh, and the Savile quip isn't the greatest, I'll admit to that, but as ScottPat said it's used in the form of a metaphor and doesn't go beyond that. Feel free to chop it out.
You could probably tell from my VFD entry that the not-so-relevant Farage stuff irked me. -- Rabies Turtle 22:15, June 19, 2013 (UTC)

edit EU

Anton199 reverted your edit to this article, though author ScottPat says in the Change History that he has incorporated some of your material. I thought your contribution had rather more to say about the English than about the EU. It is fine to try to improve even an article undergoing balloting for honors or for deletion. Anton's comment via Change Summary is fair, that suggestions might better be directed to the author. If this article had already attained Featured Article status, editors would be expected not to try to change the author's comedy plan but edit it only to keep it up-to-date. Spıke Ѧ 15:55 23-Jun-13

Thanks for your continued work on the article. You're really allowing the inward racist extreme right-wing, drunk Conservative UKIP voice to speak out on behalf of the whole of Britain. (Cough, cough). Sir ScottPat (talk) White Ensign Scotland Flag 1 Compassrose VFH UnS NotM WotM WotY 19:15, June 24, 2013 (UTC)
Meh, I thought claiming that the research was done by UKIP would make it seem less credible (and thus, more funny?) -- Rabies Turtle 19:53, June 24, 2013 (UTC)
I agree. [Hence the flippin' sarcastic tone!!!!] Sir ScottPat (talk) White Ensign Scotland Flag 1 Compassrose VFH UnS NotM WotM WotY 19:58, June 24, 2013 (UTC)
