edit image tagging

Hi. this image is not public domain, or Creative Commons. The page says it's public (meaning on view to all) and all rights reserved. -- sannse@Wikia (talk) 19:29, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

"release[d] to the public" and "released into the public domain" are not the same thing. He selected "all rights reserved", that's the legal bit. If you are going to use such images, then fine... just label them correctly -- sannse@Wikia (talk) 16:22, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

edit Liberals

I just wanted to ask you a few questions over the liberals article, and American conservative’s attitude towards liberals in general, which confuse me and many others outside the USA. Why do you mock the idea of liberty and freedom for all people? Don’t conservatives believe people have a right to be free too? If you mock liberals for promoting, well, liberty, that’s what it implies. It’s ironic that you seem to be inadvertently criticizing conservatives for not supporting freedom – which I don’t think (in the developed world at least) - is often the case. In general, in our part of the world, all political creeds tend to support freedom for all and, something approaching this is present in less developed parts of the world too. I believe this is a display of human altruism and charity at work; which leads me to my next point.

What does the theory of evolution have to do with liberalism? Does the general theory of relativity have anything to do with monetarism? Does quantum mechanics have anything to do with socialism? Outside of the religious USA very few people understand why evolution plays such an important role in US politics. It is also worth noting that the judge who finally dismissed intelligent design as pseudoscientific nonsense was sworn in by George Bush and was a Republican. That we are the products of evolution, driven by Darwin and Russell’s engine of natural selection, is no more open to debate today than is the fact that the earth orbits the sun.

And one last thing, which is mentioned many times over in the article, why do you believe that people whose political views fall into the broad spectrum of liberalism prefer higher taxes? Do you realize how daft that assertion is?

Some of the contributions are funny (like “a Liberal is someone who can't even take his/her own side in an argument because that would imply close mindedness”) but most of it seems like juvenile ranting against an opponent, like "Liberals love to whine like little crybabies and little pussies about every little thing." That is kind of pathetic, and very ironic because that’s exactly what you’re accusing your opponent of! Weri long wang 17:45, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm not a conservative at all as a matter of fact. They're generally greedy people who don't give a shit about anybody but themselves and have built up a whole philosophy to rationalize it so they don't have to pay taxes and can try to turn the clock back to 1950 with their social policies. I'm also not a liberal: I think they're colossal whiny pussies who are incessantly whiny and soft. I just think the article should rip liberals that would make it funny. Before it was ripping conservatives which made no sense (if you want to rip conservatives go to their article) That's why the Anne Coulter article is so funny because it just tears her selfish ass a new one. Quadzilla99 19:37, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
OK, fair enough. I just think it looks bad to say that they’re whining pussies. That may be true in some cases, but I think a more subtle approach might be more appropriate. I’ll try to add something like that. I’ll remove the part about evolution though, for that really has nothing to do with liberal politics.
I also think that not all conservatives are greedy and it’s unfair to imply that only liberals care about freedom. It’s hard to define what liberal and conservative is sometimes, but I’d say the majority of people in this part of the world believe freedom is important – even if sometimes may be for selfish reasons. Weri long wang 19:50, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
It sounds to me as if he is following stereotypes of Liberals and Conservatives. I suppose in a way stereotypes are funny, but do not represent every Liberal or Conservative. I mean there might be some Liberals who don't believe in evolution and some Conservatives that do, etc. I'll tell you what Quad, I'll let you help with some articles I wrote that make fun of Liberals if you allow Weri to write his article the way he wants it to be written about Liberals. That is the freedom of Uncyclopedia, even if you differ from someone else, you can always write a new article somewhere else on Uncyclopedia that follows your sense of humor and viewpoints. HowTo:Be a liberal, I can't believe it's not Liberalism!, Holy Bible: Revised Liberal Edition, God-Fearing Republicans, Non-God-Fearing Democrats I was also thinking about writing The Left-Wing Agenda or The Liberal Agenda but I need to throw some ideas with someone else. Could you be that person? I myself am a moderate, but Liberals call me Conservative and Conservatives call me Liberal. Bonus points if you can find a web reference to support your views as Weri has done in some of his articles. --Lt. Sir Orion Blastar (talk) 20:33, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I'll start a completely different article like the George Dubya Bush version of the U.S. president's article. I might not do it right now though. Also I'm gonna remove the picture I uploaded for the new article. Quadzilla99 20:40, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm not really up on the relative merits of the NRV tag, and actions concerned with them. Is there any reason you asked my opinion, because I really haven't kept up. Zimbuddha Rev. Zim (Talk) Get saved! 15:18, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

edit Good lord

What do you not understand about "this forum topic is old, it is considered archived, do not edit it"?! Why did you need you edit that? Spang talk 07:34, 15 May 2007

Are you gonna survive that? You seem pretty devastated. I hope you can get past that and still be a productive editor here. My advice? Don't throw a hissy fit every time someone commits a simple error. You'll live longer, have less stress, and be easier to get along with. Quadzilla99 19:39, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Calm down, I'm not attacking you. I only mention it because there's been a few forum topics recently on how people hate the recent spate of people bumping old topics for no reason, and I've gone and made the warnings as clear as possible without making giant and flashing, and wanted to know why people still aren't getting it. In all seriousness: how did you find that topic, and need to edit it, and miss the warnings? No worries if it was a mistake, I was just wondering why. Spang talk 08:00, 15 May 2007
To clarify I simply followed the link from here (see the post by herrdoktorneedsabrain in the Starnestormy discussion), wasn't really aware what I was looking at, and thought it was some kind of talk page or something so I edited crappy to shitty. I wasn't even aware this site had forums. For that I got blocked and yelled at. Anyway that's the story of that fiasco. Quadzilla99 12:11, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Ah well, no harm done. If anything, it was good in that it prompted me to disable easy editing of old forum topics for the sake of the people who edit them as well as everyone else. No worries! Spang 03:59, 19 May 2007</small
