At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Ptok-Bentoniczny/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider contributing to Uncyclopedia's current colonization of the week, a group writing project to improve a single popular article. Anyone is welcome to contribute, so come help out!

If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. edit TAW 2011

Hello Ptok. I'm preparting for this year's contest and I was hoping to get some feedback from former participants.

1. I recently redesigned UN:REQ, based on Wikipedia's version, since the page was very slow to upload for editors with older computers (myself included). I'm wondering though if its too big and also, perhaps, if it was better having everything in one place?
2. I've limited the choices to three basic categories: UN:REQ, UN:VITAL and Wanted Pages. This is based on general feedback from last year which limits the number of judges and, hopefully, encourages more participants.
3. I've added optional "challenge" categories. There isn't any need for judges since the goal is to complete the task itself. I thought it might be a fun idea and offered something different to other competitions. Do you think this is a good idea?

I hope you'll consider participating in this year's contest as I'd be happy to a few "returning champions" (if only as judges). MadMax 23:21, August 19, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks ;). I'm not sure about the counter. Some may claim that my features are "half-features" or "part-features" and I don't know if it counts as "3 features" or "1,5 features". Or maybe other possible fraction - especially about the articles in which I wrote about 99% of text and Another guy added images (good ones). Only you can enter the Hallowed Hall (of Shame). Enter it lightly, and dance upon its marble halls. (Depending on if your pages are yours, or if you shared 1/2 features with someone. Only you know this ancient wisdom.) Aleister 15:14 24-10-'11
