אוזני המן

I'm fairly certain you haven't seen my response to what you said re. Hebrew and Yiddish names for stuff such as hamentaschen on my talkpage because none of the Yiddish stuff I added to the kosher article has been changed. So here it is:

"It says המן־טאַש in my cookery book, which is where I'm copying them from. It is a Yiddish cookery book, however, so I imagine you're right that this is the Yiddishe term. Do feel free to change anything I've added in Yiddish to Hebrew for the sake of consistency though, along with any errors on my behalf. I'm fairly certain I've mangled שלאָגן זיך בייגל, not least of all because "fight bagels" was the closest I could get to "fighting bagels." What little Yiddish I know comes from my bubbeh who, like most elderly ladies, preferred doing things like getting drunk and shouting at the cat to fighting so it's not a term I ever heard her use. Oh, and I have no idea of either the Yiddish or Hebrew term for feinkochen or mandelbrodt and if I try to transliterate into Yiddish I'll probably end up accidentally writing something really offensive. Also, I don't know the Hebrew for cholent, though in Yiddish it's טשאָלנט I believe. :-)"

Thanks for your help if you do correct any of mine. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 15:45, November 5, 2009 (UTC)

Ah! I did miss that. Well, some names really exist only in Yiddish (such as Kenidalach, I mean, there is a Hebrew name but no one uses it) - and Hamentachen, we can use both the names really. With the Cholent, it's actually an interesting linguistic debate. Cholent is not a word in Hebrew, but most people would use that (טשולענט). However, there is another version of the dish from North Africa called Hamin or Chamin (חמין) which is a different dish to cholent, but a lot of people use that as a general name for this type of dishes. Having said that, I'm not even sure that Chamin is in Hebrew, it might be bastardized Hebrew or Ladino. Who said that being Jewish is easy?! ~Jewriken.GIF 15:58, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
Interesting, that, because so far as I knew chamin was the Hebrew name for cholent (cholent coming from the Old French chalant, I believe. Suppose Rashi would have been the one to ask about that, he knows his Old French alright) - however, it's not something I've ever really thought about that much since absolutely everyone I know calls it cholent. I assume that chamin and cholent were originally entirely different things, one African and one French/Jewish - that ended up becoming confused and used to describe one (possibly entirely different) dish. Oh well - who cares, so long as it continues to taste as good as it does? The rabbis spend so much time arguing over whatever it is they argue over and nobody's even answered the basic questions concerning Jewish food yet! My Hebrew is far too poor to understand that, other than something about robots. I find it's a good idea to be able to recognise the word robots in as many languages as possible - one never knows when the ability to do so might stand one in good stead, after all. Say Rabbi, did you know that on top of the Hebrew Uncyclopedia there is a Yiddish one? ~Jewriken.GIF 16:34, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
I didn't, but I'll have a look because according to some programme on the radio the other week Yiddish is at risk of dying out in the UK so I've been thinking I ought to develop the twenty or so words I know into at least a workable basic knowledge. That's partially just because Yiddish is such a great language for insulting people with, of course. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 16:38, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
It is. There is still a rather active Yiddish community in Israel, a few theaters as well (There's also a village that speaks Aramaic but that's just weird) ~Jewriken.GIF 16:46, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
As it happens, the chap presenting the programme was producing a Yiddish theatre show (mostly for his elderly mother's benefit, it seemed) and was worried nobody would show up for it. In the end, it sold out (although there was no mention of how many tickets were sold to his mother and her friends) so it seems some people can still speak it here. You hear the occasional older person in Golders Green and a few in Stamford Hill (possibly in the Manchester and Gateshead Jewish neighbourhoods too, but I've never been there because I don't fancy the innoculations you have to have before venturing into Northern England), and there's the Chasidim of course, but it's very rare that you find anyone either under 60 or not Chasidic who can speak it. Be a pity if it went the same way as its international language imitators like Esperanto because it sounds so great. A village where they still speak Aramaic, eh? You'll be telling me there are people in Argentina that speak Welsh next... ;-) Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 16:58, November 5, 2009 (UTC)

Can't log in to Uncyclopedia

Here I am again, the guy who brings trouble. I noticed the log in screen changed very recently, maybe yesterday or the day before. I had to try logging in twice today before I could, then it suddenly logged me out. When I tried logging in again, it gave me a message saying I was now logged out. I did that about four times before I could post this message. Also another user hasn't been able to log in at all (I forgot to ask what browser they're using; I had a problem using Internet Explorer 8, but I'll try another browser and see if it does the same thing). Have you ever been to Haifa? If so, what did you think of it? I'm thinking of taking the missus on a surprise holiday there early in 2010. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 15:10, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

My missus is from Haifa, so I basically have family there. But why Haifa out of all the other places? ~Jewriken.GIF 15:18, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
It just looks rather pleasant and has a lot of art galleries. I thought about Eilat, partially because you can get flights there from the UK for not much at all and because of a headmistress I had at school who went there, trod on some sort of venomous spiky fish and died as a result. I'd like to find that fish and buy it a drink, but the Eilat weather might be 40 C or so warmer than I can handle. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 15:25, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
It is rather pleasant but it gets boring after a couple of days. Not a lot to do there (and the misus will probably disagree).

With regards to Eilat, it's not that hot early in the year, it's worse in June-September, but January-April it's quite pleasent and it's beautiful. Tel Aviv is certainly the fun capital of the country, just voted number ten in time out's top fun cities in the world. Loads of art, old parts, great food and parties all around. And a beach (even though Haifa and Eilat got that as well). There are other places as well. How long do you have and what's the planned budged? Also, look at - great site ~Jewriken.GIF 18:48, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

Maybe I'll think again about Eilat in that case, because I really do want to shake that fish by the, fin - though my idea of "too hot" is anything above 5 C. I suppose a few days in Haifa (the missus is a fan of the Mediterranean lifestyle so she'd enjoy it) then travelling to Tel Aviv is an option too - we'll just have to wait and see what happens, because at the present time I'm not too sure what we have re. time and money. Thanks for the eyeonisrael site - hadn't seen that one and it is indeed a good 'un. While I'm about, it seems we have inadvertently changed the world - Kosher Nostra has been inspiring people. :-) Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 09:57, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
That's hilarious! I think I'll put it on the Kosher Nostra article :). With regards to Haifa, that's not really the Mediterranean style, you're definitely looking for Tel Aviv. Haifa have their own style really. To do a quick list:

Haifa: relaxed, quite, have a world heritage center - the Baha'i Gardens, very very good middle eastern food, reasonable night life and gateway to travel the north of the country. Also, very mountainous (the misus didn't know how to ride bikes until she was quite old since they don't do bike over there. too steep).

Tel Aviv: party town, noisy, tons of everything 24/7. Gourmet food (and I do mean gourmet, they have some of the best restaurants I've been to), great beach, world heritage center (the "white city" - biggest concentration of Bauhaus buildings in the world), tons of museums. Tel Aviv would be more expensive than Haifa though.

Eilat in January, btw, would be around 15-20 degrees. Really nice and dry during that time of the year. Anyway, when you have more specific details I can give you loads of recommendations. We're going to be there, btw, from December 17th until the 30th. Last but not least - I might be in London next week. You're in the area? ~Jewriken.GIF 10:15, November 21, 2009 (UTC)

Ooh yes, I forgot the Bauhaus buildings - I'm a big fan of those; but I think Mrs. Rabbi would find them tedious as she's more the Tudor-cottage-with-roses-round-the-door type. The restaurants sound good fact, I think you may have persuaded me. In saying that, good Middle Eastern food in Haifa is tempting too, not least of all because she'd be happy surviving on falafel and hummus alone. On the other hand, Eilat sounds good for the Timna Valley (me being an archaeologist and all). Hmm. What chance would we have of getting to all three in, say, a week and a half? I'd quite like to get to Jerusalem too, just so I can reply to all those people who tell me that I should go to the Kotel that I have and they'll stop nagging me. I think I'll leave a few brochures around the apartment and stealthily make notes of what she seems interested in and then make further plans.

Not sure if I could make it to London next week as I'm a bit short on cash at the moment (redundancy money from last job has run out so really need to find a new one soon!) but let me know when and if you're there and I'll see what I can do. Which reminds me - was going to meet up with Olipro last week but forgot all about it. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 12:24, November 21, 2009 (UTC)

Well, you know that Israel is one big archeology site, you don't need to go to Timna to see that. You have it everywhere. Just note which culture you want to visit :). There's even an underwater archeology park in Ceserea, which is about 40 minutes north of Tel Aviv. You can certainly do them all in ten days, that's the good thing about being a small country. Driving times are aprox - Haifa-Tel Aviv less than an hour, Tel Aviv to Jeruslaem, about an hour, Tel Aviv to Eilat about 4 hours. I think 2 nights in Haifa, 2 nights in Jerusalem, 3 nights in Tel Aviv and 3 nights in Eilat would be good. Also, don't forget the Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee :) ~Jewriken.GIF 13:43, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
That's true of everywhere on Earth, I suppose, but I'd rather like to see the Shrine of Hathor and the reconstructed Tabernacle. King Solomon's Pillars would be of interest too because I have a bit of an amateur interest in geology. Neither of us drive, but I hear the bus routes are good up and down the West coast (well, except for Gaza I suppose) and across the Negev. Hmm - could be a fun tour, and it ought to be simple to arrange flights from here to Haifa and from Eilat back home again. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 13:57, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, transportation won't be a problem. There are bus connections everywhere, there's an express train between Haifa and Tel Aviv and there are flights between Tel Aviv and Eilat. May I ask why

You may not know why I made User:Necropaxx/HowTo:Fish a redirect, and I'll explain why. When I first started here, I was looking through PLS for one of the articles that was on a user page and couldn't find it. Eventually, I found that the sub user page was huffed because it was a double redirect (which is the same thing that happened in this case). I talked to a few people including an admin (sorry, don't remember which one) about making it a redirect so that people like me could find a PLS article when they looked through the history. It took me over an hour to do all that, but I got support (or, in one case, go ahead I don't care), and the redirect is still there after a couple months. I really think it would be helpful to some user who, like me, is looking through the PLS history or winners and can't find the article if User:Necropaxx/HowTo:Fish redirected to UnBooks:Gone Fishing. Also I posted a note on Necropaxx' talk page letting him know I had done it and why. Thanks for your consideration. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 22:40, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

Uncyclopedia goes legal

Hi grandfather - Zana Dark and I established Uncyclopedia Legal Department (UnLeDe or something like that) today. Want to join? You can choose your title. RabbiTechno is in. It requires no action - just let us know you're in and we'll add your name to the member list. The good Rabbi was suggesting you and Kakun since then we would have a Bet Dein Jewish court.

My initial idea was, and is, to just improve bad articles by slapping a template on them - a legal template that picks something in the article and raises it as a point of legalistic discussion. It doesn't seem to do much but there is joke potential (I hate rewriting but I guess a little joke on the side is better than just a bad article - also if there's something fun attached to the article people might get inspired by it a bit). The templates can also be used as warnings and so forth - and of course the dept. can do other things, being the ultimate legal power around - barring the, you know, nonexistent thingy. I'm in chat now if you have some ideas or want to check out I've not just flipped. -- Style Oranssiviiva Guide 11:37, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

Sounds like fun, but we need to keep that in the joking area rather than change it into a proper maintenance templates that we use already. Do you have a link for me? ~Jewriken.GIF 13:36, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
OK, I'll let the others know about that one. Nothing's up yet - the page is under construction in Zana Dark's sandbox (Just a moment). I was also thinking of it more as an addition to a bad article rather than a maintenance template. -- Style Oranssiviiva Guide 13:53, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

VFD Procedure

Your recent decree regarding VFD--Don't nominate unless you also vote Delete--should be added to the documentation of VFD. (My personal opinion--now apparently moot--is that the question of whether one thinks an article should be voted on should be separate from how one would vote on it; I aired ATI to see whether people thought it was of general interest; not being a customer, my belief that it was an in-joke didn't rise to wanting to delete the article. But Nom and Keep is more problematic, as though the nominator just wanted to get stroked for his article, which should not happen via VFD.)

Another thing that might be clarified is dispositions of an article. Additional outcomes to Keep and Delete are: (1) Huff it, in view of a ready replacement article, and (2) Keep it but apply a different version as a change to it (differs from #1 in retaining the change history). For example, it's clear what voters want to happen to Mustaches of Legend--but not because we all voted that way. Other outcomes, such as Combine with an existing article or Redirect to an existing article, are problematic because we essentially vote on whether we like an article, followed by a touchy-feely process, or one guy's suggestion, regarding what to do about the consensus opinion. Spıke Ѧ  18:09 1-Dec-09

Spike, you were a Wikipedian right? This isn't an insult by the way, just a question. I get the feeling you were editing there for a while because you seem to be taking the their approach of - everything has to be documented and set in stone. It works well for them, but it doesn't work for us. In fact, the approach we always had is - the less rules the better. To the two written rules you can add one unwritten one - use common sense. And so, I don't feel I need to add anything to VFD rules as with you it was the first time an instance like that was encountered. With Syndrome, it's quite obvious he's taken the piss. Which is fine, that's what we do everyday, I just wanted to stop it there and then.
Other than that, the main reason I don't think the approach of "nom and you think about it" is that VFD is not a test balloon area. There are 25,000 articles in Uncyclopedia. If you think one is worthy of deletion, nom it, vote for it. If you don't think it is - don't. You'll be taking space in VFD and taking the time of the people who are taking the time to read the nominations. \
As with the outcomes - again, I don't feel there is a need to complicate the process further. If it's deleted - it's deleted. Anyone wants to revive or to rewrite in his space and time, he's welcomed to talk with any admin and he'll get it. If it's kept, it's kept. You'll notice that a lot of what you mentioned (merging, rewriting, revering to previous versions) is usually happening spontanoiusly as part of the VFD process. So once more, I don't think it's necessary to complicate the the process further.
Simplicity, common sense and free beer. This is normally our approach. Except for the free beer, that's normally costs money. ~Jewriken.GIF 18:53, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
OK, fine. MrN has also discussed the preference for informality, and I'm okay with that. Yes, I was a Wikipedian--but was a stickler for clarity before that (It's what I do on the job). And a beer drinker before that. Spıke Ѧ  19:18 1-Dec-09

Let's be careful out there. -OptyC Sucks! Icons-flag-us CUN18:27, 2 Dec

Having slept on it...Ignore (as you have) my ruminations above about how delightfully formal the process could be, and please return to my original point. In fact, you did lay down a law--No more Nom and Keep or Nom and Abstain--and I'd like to see it written down somewhere other than an archived VFD. I might forget, and many other people in the business of writing cleverly and provocatively might forget, and you should be spared the drama of having to ban us for insubordination. Spıke Ѧ  13:25 2-Dec-09

That may be, but the common sense point still takes. This is the first time in over three years I've been around I've seen such an instance and I don't feel we need a rule to cover this. If you forget, we'll remind you. And we don't ban people that fast. ~Jewriken.GIF 18:46, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
Some argue that VFD has too many rules already. Some further argue that you do indeed ban people that fast. April 9th is the biannual Block Syndrome for Some Petty Reason and then Leave Sort of Patronizing Unblock Message Day. Now, while I may not be the first to nom and keep, I do believe there is a practical reason for it. It's like a vaccine. Introduce your article to VFD under conditions where you know it will be kept, then later in the future when standards are higher, it will be hard for someone to come back and delete it because it's already been exposed to VFD and the result was keep. I think that if I saw anyone actually nominating an article with that in mind, though, I'd shoot them. --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 15:40, December 3, 2009 (UTC)

My response to the Construction-ICU discussion is here. I do want to say here, though, that ICU says 'Sometimes pages that are in the process of being worked on get tagged accidentally by users who don't see that the page is still under construction. If this happens to you, just remove the tag with the edit summary "Still Under Construction".' This page was just being created by a new user who had not been welcomed and I imagine didn't know about the Construction tag, so I removed the ICU tag and added Construction as per the ICU article. All right - please see Ian Brown to see how it would work. I tested it in my userspace first and also maybe to construct the legalese a bit further. So then - I suppose there won't be a "SHORT ARTICLE!!!!" -problem since the legalese will all be subpages to the Legal Department main page. Also, Zana hasn't yet fixed the template so that it won't put the articles in UnLegal category any more - I asked her to wait, gonna ask her to do it whenever she can. Also, the templates to be slapped on articles and talk pages & so forth will be different than the default one now on the articles - I don't know which way she'll like to do it. This is straight now, isn't it, right after the non-UnLegal articles have been cleared off the category? -- Style Oranssiviiva Guide 16:06, December 6, 2009 (UTC)

Same old same old. Always on watch on the crap floodgates (the crapgates?) while trying not to go insane with the amount of work I have (as everyone seem to remember suddenly there's something that just HAVE to be finished by the end of the year). But! There's a light in the end of the tunnel, and no, it's not a train coming to run me over, it's vacation! I'm going home for two weeks next Thursday. So, good food, friends and sun. I haven't seen the sun in MONTHS! :)

How is the new house? ~Jewriken.GIF 13:54, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

The house? A few minor teething troubles - nearly had the gas supply for the entire close shut down due to a suspected gas leak, which would have made us popular with the new neighbours! And I still have no internet at home, which as much as anything else is why I'm not on here much - can't do any work at home, and have to cram it all in to office hours. As we work with retailers, everything is vital around christmas, so it's non-stop emergency priority until we close the office for the holidays. The good news is we just got an extra 2 days, so I only have 9 more days at work this year, which is something to look forward to!
I still drop in here whenever I get time, banning a 'tard here, deleting something there, but hopefully I'll be back in full effect in the next week or two. How's Mordillia? --UU - natter UU Manhole 14:04, Dec 7

I concur with your comment on BP. Socky left a note on his talk page about proper coding just after he laid waste to the Infobox in USSR. I merely replied to his comment on Talk:Barack Obama. He doesn't quite merit banning, but has deficiencies in the departments of coding, relevance, and humor; and the superlatives on his user page suggest to me that he doesn't realize it. Spıke Ѧ  21:43 7-Dec-09

That certainly seems the case, but if we ban everyone with bad humor we won't have anyone left to talk with. Usually having a nice chat with them helps, and if not - I'm still here. BP should really be used as a last resort or against obvious vandals. ~Jewriken.GIF 21:48, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

Below is what I suggested to Zana a minute ago. Who might want to be judge and jury? I realize some suggestible persons might take all that too seriously but... uh... I hope there aren't too many of those. For their own sake rather than mine.

What if we set up a legal affidavit template with some pre-rendered text? Tell me what you think of this and let's cook the text up together if you like it. There might be two: suggestion and complaint. Then we could start telling people that if they have reason to complain (careful not to do it with too stiff users though) they can turn to the Dept. for legal assistance. Then we could submit the case to someone who's willing to script the court case based on it. Might be more fun to others than trying to come up with laws and stuff. We would thereby set up some mock drama, it might even be healthy. Or sick. -- Style Oranssiviiva Guide 07:16, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Isn't this your idea now that I think of it for a second - the mock trials? I just came up with a way to initiate them it seems.

I appreciate that, but that is what I did, which is why I ended up reverting other people's edits. The vandal struck, two regular users posted immediately after that, and when I reverted the vandalism by using undo it reverted their edits too. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 21:24, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
The "undo" link ought to give you an automated message summary. I tried recreating this and it looks like you wouldn't have been allowed to undo it because of the edits in between. --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 21:30, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
That's what I ran into. I ended up undoing the most recent version to "save time," but then realized I should post a note on the two users' pages whose legitimate edits I'd also reverted, so it didn't save time. Apparently Mordillo knows a way to do it easily, which is what I'm hoping to learn. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 21:37, December 10, 2009 (UTC)

Yep. Minced meat, in common with many traditional British things designed solely to confuse foreigners, is not in fact minced meat - it's made of sultanas, raisins, apples spices and (in most cases) vegetable shortening (suet used to be used but is uncommon now). Hence, vegans and vegetarians can eat it - which is good, because mince pies are delicious as are mince hamentaschen, rugelach and a sort of sweet chollah of my own invention. Apart from the fact that mince pies are currently on sale at £1 for 12 in most shops (a bargain I'll make the most of while it lasts) the idea of being in Israel for the duration seems a pretty good one to me - I'd be more than happy to miss out on the hideous capitalism/binge-drinking/shite music blaring out of every shop and pub fest that Christmas has become (and probably always was, despite what Dickens suggests) in the UK. :-) Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 12:18, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

  • 1-to-10 scoring template not unlike the one used for Pee Review. The elements in question shall include:
  • 1. Overall Humour – Judges shall decide this field based on the entry they find the funniest, regardless of other judging fields.
  • 2. Quality - Just how well made IS the image?

...and so forth on the competition page. -- Style Oranssiviiva Guide 19:11, December 10, 2009 (UTC)

Well, it's one way to do it. The bottom line should be the scoring from top to bottom. How you reach that should be based either on that way or whatever other way you see fit. I'm sure you know what I'm referring to. I imagine your patience is wearing thin about this and I think the issue is getting old too, but there are still some questions that remain unanswered. What would it take to get BUTT POOP!!!! restored? It was deleted without a process, so what would the process be for getting it back? If nothing, why not? I think having satisfactory factor answers to these three questions (actually, the first two were the same, and the last may not require an answer) would help put this matter behind us. --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 07:03, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

I know I'm butting into butt poop (hah!), but wasn't it just moved to user space? It's apparently an inside joke among a small handful of people anyway. I know I was told only people active on VFD would get it, but I'm averaging about 25 to 30 votes or comments there a month for the past two or three months, and have no idea what it's about. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 07:12, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
I feel pretty strongly that BUTT POOP!!!! should be in mainspace. I want it in mainspace; Mn-z wants it in mainspace; Socky wants it in mainspace; Syndrome wants it in mainspace; Modus has opined that he would gladly put it in mainspace but refuses to edit war with Spang. It's the principle of the thing: Socky, Mn-z, Syndrome and I work hard enough on the wiki that we don't deserve to be unilaterally overruled (and insulted, to boot). In fact, I feel strongly enough about this that I've decided not to make any edits outside of userspace until this is resolved. Tinymasaru.gifpillow talk 07:35, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
And just to be perfectly clear, I'm not doing this boycott because I'm in love with BUTT POOP!!!! It's about the dumbest fucking article ever. I'm doing it because the culture around here seems to be that either you're an admin or you're some dog shit that someone just scraped off their shoe. This is just the latest example, and it's really killing my enthusiasm for the project. Tinymasaru.gifpillow talk 07:40, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
To be honest, I wasn't involved in this whole issue and not sure what this is about. Anyone care to update me? I've seen the discussion on Spang's page but don't know the whole back story. Also, Hype, I think that is quite an exaggeration with regards to "if you're not an admin you're dog shit". Especially with Spang. ~Jewriken.GIF 08:53, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
Backstory: something to do with VFD, at first. Hype made a comment on one vote that a page called Butt Poop could be created, with useless content, and certain people would still vote keep. That page duly turned up. Then it was VFD'd. It survived. Then it was re-VFD'd. Modus killed the vote because it was too soon. Among certain VFD regulars (those listed by Hype), it became a hilarious in-joke. Some other "articles" were created, expanding the thing - such as a Sojourn one, which I made a comment about, because I felt it was hyper-colossal overkill. Then Spang deleted them unilaterally. Then that discussion on Spang's page happened (and another on Modus's page), and now I think you're up to speed.
It was my personal opinion that Butt Poop (I refuse to capitalise it that way, incidentally) should disappear or sit in userspace. But then, I was personally of the opinion that the Sojourn category should not have been featured, that Mr Winkler articles should have been deleted on sight, and that Yuky Doody should be purged from existence. Subjectiveness, as ever, abounds. Hype finds it funny - whatever. I don't think anyone has suggested that if you're not an admin you're not shit - personally, I think it's vital for the wiki that we have a good balance between admins doing the thankless admin tasks, and established users who can sort other thankless stuff out, and other established users who can make jokes out of it all.
This isn't the first time an admin has deleted stuff without a consensus vote. I'm not saying that makes it good, but it's not the worst example either - Famine, Flammable, Gwax and the like would possibly have deleted it, banned anyone involved for a week and told them not to be so childish (note, that's not my opinion, that's what I imagine they may have said. Particularly Famine). But I don't think that's the point. If Hype feels strongly that admins are overstepping their bounds and possibly driving people away, he needs to discuss it with someone - I believe we are here to help make sure the wiki runs properly, not drive away good users, and if good users think think things are wrong, we need to at least discuss it. But can we get some kind of perspective here? Butt Poop is still in userspace, where the 5 people who find it funny can still find it funny. This isn't just about that "article", so I'd still like to know what the real deal is. --UU - natter UU Manhole 10:15, Dec 11
If you were a woman and Jewish I would marry you. I think UU has some good points. Hype? What do you say? ~Jewriken.GIF 10:27, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
I say... probably too much, but I've got a bit on my mind here. I haven't made a mainspace edit in six days, so obviously I continue to be bothered by this.
Okay, first, this isn't about a grudge against Spang. Spang's always been one of the "good guys" as far as I'm concerned, he puts in hours of thankless back-end work, and he's semi-apologized for the insults that he made in the heat of the moment after we questioned his unilateral deletion.
But, yes, I think we have serious problems with the way admins interact with regular editors. And by "regular editors," I don't just mean "non-admins," but the group of non-admins who are here consistently, almost every day, working on the project. TKF has repeatedly been aggressively shitty to regulars like Guildy and myself; no other admin seems willing to lift a finger to intervene or even suggest he's done something wrong. The whole "Sannse-ignores-VFD-and-deletes-image" fiasco, over which we lost at least one regular, ended with just locking a thread and telling us we couldn't even discuss the issue anymore. And now, in case of BUTT POOP!!!!, we've got a perfect example in that Modus (who, don't get me wrong, I think is generally a great admin) just flat-out refuses to get involved. Basically, Spang's royalty, and we're peasantry, so he just shrugs and says "It really doesn't matter if anyone has a point."
Maybe a lot of this is that this is a bit of a bruise to my ego. I'll admit that. You know, I've been here for a year and a half now, and I've done a lot of good work. So when I write a short "Guy who went through the wood chipper in Fargo" article, and TKF unilaterally deletes it with the comment "Too dry," the first thing I think is "How the hell are you more qualified than me to determine what goes on Uncyclopedia? I didn't think Filial Piety was even slightly funny - how come you can unilaterally delete my shit and I can't touch yours?" I mean, honestly, I've worked hard here. Do I really not deserve even a shred more deference than, say, User:Canadian user with so many sock puppets does? Maybe all I'm looking for is validation that my opinion matters. I understand that writing thirty-odd features doesn't get me an adminship - I'm not really that great with site maintenance - but I'd think it would at least get me a voice in terms of content.
And, no, I'm really not happy with the BUTT POOP!!!! articles being in userspace, because it screws up the joke. The joke is that people sometimes use such ridiculous rationales on VFD that BUTT POOP!!!! wouldn't be deleted. If it's in userspace, then... well, hey, it won't be deleted because it's in userspace. That ruins the joke. Besides, userspace is just an insult. If one of the few people who outrank you - say, the President of Wikia - came and userspaced UnScripts:An interview with an Egyptian taxi driver with the comment "Accent done badly," would you really just shrug and think "Well, at least it still exists and I can still read it"? You wouldn't be insulted at all? Tinymasaru.gifpillow talk 16:48, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

Let me first comment on the examples. With regards to TKF, without commenting on him at the moment, the reason no one intervened (as well as this is the case with Spang and MO) is because the doomsday scenario, as far as the admins concerned, is a revert war with each other. A revert war between two admins can more or less destroy the place or cause significant damage. So we all go to tremendous efforts to avoid it, even sometimes at the expense of users. It doesn't mean, though, that were to admin become completely rogue there would be no interference, but IMO that was not the case. So this has nothing to do with royalty vs. the proletarian. This is admins alway trying to be very careful with reverting each other. With regards to the famous Muhammad picture - sannse was not acting as an admin but rather as a wikia official - which she was sure to make it very clear with using her wikia signature. With regards to admins going vs. wikia - you can imagine this is a rather futile gesture, so we will have to live with that as long as we're hosted by Wikia. Typically you'll find that they're rather good with staying out of our business. With regards to locking the thread, that was me. And it was me because everytime that drama was winding down, we had another "good intention" individual who felt it was necessary to remind everyone about FREEDOM OF SPEECH! and FREEDOM OF RELIGION! and FREEDOM OF BLAH BLAH BLAH! while assuming that Uncyclopedia is the last bastion of faith and lifting a defiant fist against the oncoming hordes. This is not the case as we are a humor wiki, a thing I need to remind myself sometimes. I locked it down because, as I told Syndrome the other day, the people who need to clean up the mess after those young revolutionaries is myself. And UU. And Spang. And MrN. And Mhaille. You know how long I haven't wrote anything in the mainspace? All because some people here are intent on making a scene out of every little thing and we go around trying to appease everyone.

With regards to butt poop, capitalize or otherwise - if it was an actual article, no one would delete it like that. It seemed that it was a private VFD joke that most people won't understand (until I heard this whole background story I didn't get it) so I would really like to avoid getting into a revert fight with Spang, based on what I've said before. I think Hype, that no one would delete or userspace any of your articles for no good reason. If one of your articles did got trashed like that, than by all means I would be happy to revive it if you direct me in the right way.

Since I don't want to finish this with you all pissed off, I can only ask Spang to join the discussion here. Whether he agrees to follow through or not, it's entirely up to him.

Again, I understand your frustration - but trust me when I tell you this - the current admins that you have in place are much much nicer to users than the "old timers". - if you see the description UU wrote about - not because they were "bad" but because the nature of the wiki changed and became more complex.

On top of that, if I may be so bold and speak on behalf of the active admins, I think we're all a bit tired with the amount of drama that we have for a few months that don't seem to dwindle down. I can't really do anything lately without stumbling into someone starting an idiotic fight - which then takes a week to sort out blah blah blah.

So there, my two cents in long and winding English probably poorly spelled. I'll ask Spang to drop by. ~Jewriken.GIF 17:36, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

Let me just put in my bottom line. You say that when admins revert each other, it damages the project. I agree. But I also think that when admins revert the regular, established users, that also damages the project. I think that, for example, RAHB should be every bit as reluctant to revert Cajek or Cap'n Ben, as you and Modus are to revert Spang. TKF should be just as reluctant to discipline Prettiestpretty as you would be to discipline TKF. Spang should be just as reluctant to userspace my article as you would be to userspace Spang's article. Because that's done a lot of damage to Uncyclopedia, too. I just really think that once someone's proven himself (or herself), that someone should maybe be given a certain degree of trust and freedom, you know? Tinymasaru.gifpillow talk 17:48, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
Hype, I think you're exaggerating. I think regular users are not getting reverted on a regular basis and we're hardly reverting users on a daily basis just for spite. ~Jewriken.GIF 19:26, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
I don't think I said anything about a daily or regular basis. But even "once in a while" is no good at all. I mean, I'm bringing up about six examples from my year and a half on Uncyclopedia, and obviously they still sting. I just wish that, as a matter of policy, admins would agree to treat the established regulars as they would treat one another. Tinymasaru.gifpillow talk 19:41, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

I don't think anybody said that the length of the page was the problem. I've had my hand in more than a few short joke articles, and they can be done well. This one just wasn't. Another question might be: why you want it in mainspace anyway? To validate your opinion, seriously? Of all the articles you've written this is the one that's most important to you? And all those times people voted to feature your articles, that didn't mean anything, but this does? Well ok, but it still doesn't make for a funny article. As I said before, everyone who would find it funny has already seen it. I honestly don't see the difference between it and the 100s of vanity articles that are created, that each have 5 people sitting in a classroom who find hi-larious. Yes, to you, it probably is funny, exactly like every other vanity article is funny to its creator. I've deleted thousands of those.
So to be clear, the problem here isn't me thinking I'm better than any users, it's quite different: I'm treating all users the same. Should you be allowed to have such a bad article in mainspace when 10,000 other people aren't? My opinion would be no. As I said before, I judge each article on its merit, not its author. And as for its merit - "The whole joke is that it's an article that wouldn't be deleted on VFD because VFD voters often vote on stupid rationales." Do you think this joke is genuinely better than any of the articles that are QVFD'd every day? Honestly good enough to stop editing over? The joke wasn't even on the page. I'll just ignore the two spin-offs, which have zero merit, because the original joke doesn't even apply to them. (And I'll probably delete any similar wizard did it/sojourn "spin-off" copy/pastes of any article I see created in the future)
If anything, I should have moved it back to userspace in the first place instead of deleting it. But in the end, it's not an article that, by any of the standards we all apply to everyone else, should exist. So the question is really: should your articles be treated more deferentially than everyone else's, regardless of quality? And then the question after that would be: why the hell have you made me and everyone else waste so much time typing this crap out so you can justify the existence of an article that wasn't even worth the 10 seconds it took to read in the first place? Spang talk 00:31, 12 Dec 2009
(And that's the last thing I can be bothered typing about this particular article) Spang talk 00:33, 12 Dec 2009
Well, maybe I won't get a response to this, but my questions for you are: 1) You say you treat everyone the same; if, say, Mordillo had written this, or something you found equally lame, would have have summarily dumped it in his userspace? 2) If you wrote something short and in-jokey and I moved it to your userspace saying "This is lame and unworthy of Uncyclopedia," would you just shrug good-naturedly? Or would you smack me with the banhammer? Because here's the thing: I think anything done by admins is treated more deferentially than anything done by non-admins - and that sucks. You say I'm asking more more deference than everyone else, but I'm not asking for any more deference than you already receive. Just look at what Modus is saying: I don't necessarily agree with what Spang's done, but I'm not going to call him out in front of everyone and second-guess him. How nice it'd be if some of us regulars got the same treatment. Tinymasaru.gifpillow talk 00:43, December 12, 2009 (UTC)
And Spang's answer to this would be "I would never write something like that and think it deserves to be in mainspace." I see it coming from a mile away. My 2 cents

The issue we have with the deletion of BUTT POOP was not that it was deleted. Rather, it was the fact that it was deleted without any sort of process or consensus. If it was taken to VFD, or some other sort of election, 95% of the badgering and the drama would not have happened.

With regard to an admin edit war risk, I think you might be over-estimating how much damage that could to cause. If all else fails, you have the 'crat powers to de-op and then ban regular admins, right? --Mn-z 06:38, December 12, 2009 (UTC)

WWI started because Gavrilo Princip reverted Archduke Franz Ferdinand. I'm just sayin'. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 06:51, December 12, 2009 (UTC)
I don't think we want to de-op and then ban regular admins. Not for any kind of closed shop "admins must and shall be untouchable" reasons, but because it sets a dangerous precedent. Occasionally, you may think an admin is out of line - pretty much anything an admin does, someone considers it out of line. If we de-opped an admin because a user or two had a problem with them, we'd have no admins. Point one. Point two: while it's important (at least to me) that we don't alienate users, we shouldn't go too far the other way, and have users feel that admins can be ignored. There has to be some kind of respect for admins, or why the hell are we here? This is a two-way street, folks. I'd prefer not to see us have a "shoot first, ignore questions later" policy like Famine used to, but just occasionally, people need to take stuff on the chin - not because admins are untouchable, but because there are far bigger issues in the world right now - such as the guy parked right in front of my drive right now, blocking my car in. I'm not using the car right now, admittedly, but I might want to, and that git is right in the way. In fact, I may just go to the shops now, even thought I don't need anything, just to get him to move. That's mature, right?
Look, I've had stuff of mine summarily deleted (the first article I fixed was mercilessly huffed by Zombiebaron, for one), and OK, I didn't like it, but I shrugged it off and got on with it. It may not have deserved deletion, in my opinion, but there are more important things in life. No-one has suggested Hype, Mnb or any other user here is not valued. Hype wrote my favourite article of the year, for a kick-off, while Mnb, Socky and Syndrome are tireless workers - the kind of people we need, and I massively appreciate. But right now (not to be too dismissive), what we have here is a large mountain, with a flock of mountain goats and a medium sized ski resort to boot, being made from a pretty small molehill. See Necropaxx's comment on that forum Socky created. Please guys, take a deep breath, say the magic mantra "FU Spang", and move on. --UU - natter UU Manhole 10:42, Dec 12
I'm not saying we should de-op Spang (or anyone) over this issue, but we shouldn't a system in which an admins are for all intents and purposes untouchable. Ideally, Modus would should have reverted Spang, or, better yet, worked out some sort of compromise in which the article were subject to a normal(-ish) deletion vote. Then this drama would not have flared up. The fact that so much bitching and badgering has occurred is because its a fairly clear case of improper deletion.
Take the example of the deletion of iCarly, which was deleted via VFD. There was moaning and complaining by myself, meganew and hype when it was deleted. Meganew even got banned for a week over it. However, it was "contained", and me and hype didn't launch a badgering crusade to bring said that article. In short, the drama could have been avoided by some sort of consensus vote.
To prevent similar issues in the future, I would suggest admins be given the right to nominate underage articles in VFD. That way, we could have a normal vote on issues like this, and get rid of the problem of week long immunity from deletion and other procedural "misuse". --Mn-z 18:08, December 12, 2009 (UTC)

With all this sockpuppeting business, I thought I'd ask

I get that sockpuppets are infinibanned when there's some sort of harmful or against-the-rules stuff going on, obviously. I kinda get why you probably banned Hey people!, like, it was just a one-time persona and for both Little Mermaid and her sockpuppet to compete for NotM would've been unfair and maybe there was some other things going on. Anyway, my question: When multiple accounts come into question, where does one draw the line? When does the banning start? You may as well revert that Lil Wayne "article" to the redirect or huff it entirely - I was hoping he'd develop it into something worth preserving but chances are it'll only get shitter, that being the usual case with articles on shite pop stars. Anyway, I'm off to cook Morroccan-style couscous for dinner, and later on I might just have a wee dram from the 14y/o Oban single malt that I happen to have hidden away in the kitchen. :-) Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 20:04, December 15, 2009 (UTC)
I might be hitting my Glenmorangie cellar 13. Did you ever try that particular one? And Syndrome, you're perfectly right. Now go change your underwear, I can smell you all the way here.~Jewriken.GIF 20:07, December 15, 2009 (UTC)
Not tried Cellar 13 - Glenmorangie has never been by favourite whisky, but "special expressions" can be so entirely different to a distillery's usual output that I'll try anything new when it comes to scotch - so, if I see it on sale in a pub, I'll have a shot and see how I get on. What's your preferred method for drinking whisky, incidentally? I'm a room temperature and - in some cases - just a dash of tap water man myself. Ice is for weirdos and Americans. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 11:45, December 16, 2009 (UTC)
Sounds about right, especially when you drink something extra peaty, you want just a wee bit of water in it. The Cellar 13 one is a cellar next to the ocean so it's a bit more salty than the normal one due to the salt in the ground. Good stuff. ~Jewriken.GIF 13:18, December 16, 2009 (UTC)
The closer the distillery or cellar to the sea, the better the whisky I find. Have you read Iain Banks' Raw Spirit? Highly recommended for anybody who enjoys decent whisky. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 13:25, December 16, 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I have just wrote an article that parodies the social phenomenon on Uncyclopedia known as Drama. Seeing as its become a bit of a problem in the past few months (years?) I thought it would be quite cool to make a section at the bottom of the article about other users' opinions of Drama. So I thought I'd invite you to write one, preferably humourous. It's no big deal if you don't want to, but if you are interested, you can come up with a quote and either leave it here on your talk page and I'll add it later, or you can go straight to the article itself and add it there. Any suggestions on improvement are also welcome. Thnx. --Matfen 00:26, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

That sounds like my brilliant plan to create a two floor apartment out of the one I'm currently living in and the one below me. I only need to - kill the old lady downstairs, get a court order to kick out the students that rent half of the house, buy the down stairs one from the real-state company that owns it, convince my land lady that she wants to sell the apartment to me, get a 800K Euro mortgage and THEN and ONLY THEN check if the house is constructionally solid enough to withstand such construction works. Easy eh? ~Jewriken.GIF 21:46, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
I have a (vaguely) similar plan to convert this apartment block into my own art nouveau manor house. I'm going to wait until all the neighbours are asleep, carefully transfer them all into the garden and then get all the rebuilding done by dawn. When they wake up, they won't recognise the block as being their former home and will assume that they were abducted by aliens during the night who dumped them outside after conducting weird experiments on them. This, I hope, will leave them in such a state of confusion that they'll wander off somewhere and my dastardly plan will never be found out. Yo, its me Flutter (YES I know what ur thinking "Yeah yeah he's using sockpuppetry agian" but save it for a bit.)

I really miss Uncyclopedia, and its been 5 months already. untill recently this month I realised I diserved that solid 3 month ban 4 cyberbulling. But before that i didn't. When I came back tin late October to see if I was unbanned (even though the infiniban was issued) I wasn't. (And i'm trying my best trying not to sound fruity, either.) AND before that, i tried to give my reasons, on a other user or "sockpuppet" Of corse i can't use thet stupid IRS or whatever the fuck it is. Also in a way I may be sounding rude, OF CORSE reducing my chances of being unbanned but, compared to what you, Gerrycheevers, MrN900 and possibly The Woodburninator, (as far my knowledge goes) I'm nothing. I know Gerrycheevers was doing his Uncyclopedic duty doody, but he's a noob and i was put down by him. Unless u were me, it feels really bad. I was REALLY PISSED, but i had to hold it. It was tough.

Even though U never noticed, I'm a very promising & civilc user here at this site. The real reason why I was doing that Nayely, Denica & Big Show (not really) now-cyberbulling nonscence is that I wanted to make them into somewhat memes. Before I never knew it was considered cyberbulling. I thought cyberbulling was posting phone vids about fights in school, as I saw in one line in the wikipedia article. And even though this was not intensinally, it was my fault and my loss here. With all those revisions, that stuff is all cleared, like me (i hope)

Also if I do get unbanned, I am going to stick with new paroied-able things like Todd Grisham, Michael Cole, Pippi Longskocking, Tony Atlas, The Hart Dynasty, Rescue Heros, Baman Piderman, AVGN, Happy Tree Friends, Smackdown vs Raw 2010 (and I still left out a few things) and still get into the old things like Zula Patrol, Gliese, WordGirl, John Cena qubo, Extrasolar planets, The Big Show, Natalya, Galaxies and all that crap. And thats also a New Years Resolusion! Impressed?

And MrN9000 was right, quoting him: "I hope this can be sorted out as you [me] are a useful user." And not to sound too self centered or anything :D I really hope this clears out... —RadarfishFlutter21px-Fan_girl_1.jpg Tuwoolookie! | My History | Brute! 21px-Nuke_explosion.gif 08:27, December 31, 2009 (UTC)

Hi. I just came across the Clemens777 (or whatever the name) controversy, and want to check with you before this becomes a problem. Please have a look at what I've done with "Star of David" (it was a stub with a weird idea and I expanded it) and let me know if something is over the line there. Hi Alesiter. No problem what so ever. The problem I had with Clemens, which was a "dramatic" characte well before my clash with him, was not the content but a specific picture he uploaded - which was a pit massed with dead people) which in my view has no humor value. Idea for monthly award

Hi Mordillo,

I've been talking to User:Pentium5dot1 and I was wondering if there was room for another monthly award? Basically a "bounty" would be offered by UN:REQ for a specific article, one that has either been on the less for a year or more or a basic article (such as Kissing), in which an editor would have 30 days to write. Do you think this would draw any interest? And if so, how exactly would I go about proposing/creating a monthly award? MadMax 02:43, January 4, 2010 (UTC)
Personally I'm against another award. I think we have quite enough of those and some of them cause drama on a monthly basis. We also had a long discussion about awards that become the epic center of life here. Do you think this award is essential? And if so - do you think maybe an award not dependent on voting can work? What do you think? ~Jewriken.GIF 10:51, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

I don't believe it's absolutely necessary though I think the concept is a good one. While there is {{reqaward}}, it's generally given out to anyone who writes a half-decent request. This award, in theory at least, would encourage writers to submit FA-level articles. To be honest, I don't really know how it would be organized. The basic idea is that an article would be suggested and that one (or more) writers would have a month to write it. Voting might be practical if there were multiple entries or if candidate articles were nominated. I've mentioned the idea of collaborations on a requested article to UN:IC and Der Unwehr but they've generally been busy enough with their own projects. I didn't realize there were so many awards beyond the basic five. I'd definitely agree that when you have too many awards it tends to devalue them as a whole. Might this work as part of a competition like PLS or the Aristocrat's Turkey Day Ball?

I hope you don't mind me leaving you a message from time to time and I certainly appreciate your advice. I generally like to ask someone for a second opinion before I do anything major. Thanks again. MadMax 04:23, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

Why would I mind? :) We're all here to support each other and to gain from each other's glorious achievements. I, for one, have been claiming UU's achievements for months now. As for the idea of a concentrated contest like PLS and TDB - I like this much better. Call it Req week or something like that. Either build it as conservation week (one person run the show and hand out prizes) or like PLS/TDB - where you get categories and judges to hand out the prizes. You want to put it up on village dump or just go ahead with it? I'd recommend waiting with the first one up until late February at least, because we'll have the top 10 extravaganza coming up February 1st. ~Jewriken.GIF 14:07, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

Well I know everyone is usually busy with writing articles and other things so I always try my best not to bother anyone. :) Do you know of any experienced editors that might be interested in helping out? I was thinking of asking around, maybe User:Modusoperandi or User:TheLedBalloon, and then leaving a message on the forums if there was no luck finding anyone. What time of the year is generally the longest period between contests? I'd assume having it over the summer would be the best time but I wasn't sure if anything (e.g. PLS) was running. MadMax 07:10, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

I actually made that template so that the creator of the article would fix it, not just anybody, then have it ICU tagged or deleted if not done in five days. But if that is still considered a maintaince template I'll be sure to change it to something else, since I did not know many people make their own templates and ended up becoming to many. I didn't mean any trouble. Sorry.--Grue JammyDirectorEye 4WILLExplode 3YOU 333Talk IF YOU DARE 13:42, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

Don't worry. Thing is, with ICU, it has to be placed on an article within about 2 days of it's creation, so your tag doesn't really add that much. Also, all ICUd articles go into a maintenance queue that the admins monitor every day (otherwise we wouldn't be able to track all the ICUd articles). Don't get me wrong, I think usergroups can be very helpful - just as long as they're not all about templates. ~Jewriken.GIF 13:46, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

Here you go. Try to make the concept more clear to the readers (maybe a part when the person stumbles upon that said god) and lest listy. The bulleted list certainly doesn't help. Good luck. ~Jewriken.GIF 20:51, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

Could you possibly...

Check out this? It's the middle finger potato thing that you asked for, if you want to use it for the anniversary. I'm not sure it is up to standard yet though, so if you want any changes on it, let me know (or if it's shit, and we aren't using it, so fuck you Woody!). Also, I don't know what font the Uncyc logo has usually. I just used some fairly generic sans serif. If you want me to change that as well, let me know. Woody On Fire! On a related note...

Considering the Main Page is reskined for Uncyclopedia's anniversary, do you think the current featured article should be post-poned for a day or two? -- Kip > Talk Works Puzzle Potato Dry Brush CUN Icons-flag-us 04:56, Jan. 5, 2010

One solution would be just not to have a feature for Jan. 6th, and that way you wouldn't have to fiddle around with changing the feature date, but then some rogue admin may come along feature an article for the 6th without knowing that he's not supposed to. --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 05:22, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
I think we'll just keep the current one in place for a couple of days. Also, Woody, I see that Thumper already obliged with the logo, which I think is great. ~Jewriken.GIF 09:00, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

I notice you just made an addition to Jewish Cuisine...

...I haven't abandoned it and will add some more at some point - I seem to have exhausted my supply of jokes on the subject for the moment, but I'm sure I'll come up with something (or at least be inspired to make some pictures). Maybe a good dose of matzah is the answer - most of my best ideas seem to come to me while I'm on know how it is. :-) Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 10:20, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

I hear you brother, I think I'll add a couple more items and start wrapping this up. The Matzah awaits! ~Jewriken.GIF 10:34, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
Sounds like a good plan - can't imagine there's much more we can add, and if there is it can always be added in mainspace. Back in Europe yet? Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 10:43, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
Yep, came back last Wed with my sister joining for a few days. Now enjoying the snow and a horrible cold. That's what you get when you move from 22 degrees into -4. Bloody Europeans. ~Jewriken.GIF 10:46, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
Lack of snow and (what I call) pleasant temperatures (ie; -4) is what's prevented me going there for all these years! Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 10:53, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
But we do get snow every now and then. In the mountains mainly. And there's also a single sky resort! Also, you don't know pleasant. Pleasant is when you get 33 degrees after a week of 38. That's pleasant. ~Jewriken.GIF 10:58, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
A single sky resort? That sounds fun - is it a hotel in a hot air balloon? ;-) 38 degrees is my idea of hell - I don't really like anything much above freezing and suspect I should have been born into a faith with a Promised Land situated in Svalbard. So long as that faith also has rugelach, chollah and teiglach, anyway. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 11:04, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
God damn it! Two weeks of speaking Hebrew and my fracking English is shot to hell again. O_O ~Jewriken.GIF 11:07, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
I wouldn't worry - use of words such as "irk" (below), a term with which most native English speakers are unfamiliar, suggests there's hope for you yet! I'm disappointed it was a typo though, I rather liked the idea of a hotel on a hot air balloon. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 12:16, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
There's a BOTEL in Amsterdam if you're looking for the bizarre side of hotels. Probably frozen solid at this point. ~Jewriken.GIF 12:25, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

Floating in a Dutch harbour doesn't have quite the same exotic charm as floating several thousand feet over Israel, somehow. Though if it's connected with the rather fine Amstel beer I could see the attraction. Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb kvetch Icon rabbi Contribs Foxicon FOXES 12:30, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

Noticed the feature article didn't make it onto the front anniversary page today, an idea, why not put Leather Ladies on tomorrrow's qu as well? Laughed at the letter, not only did people write a funny one but they highlighted some of the in=joke pages that some users say should never be featured. Kudos to you and others who did that. Hppy 5, Aleister in Chains 5th Anniuversary, MMX

Didn't do that, that was Leddy and Mickey.Regarding the feature -we already had that discussion two sections ago, we'll keep the feature for another day :) ~Jewriken.GIF 17:32, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

I Am Huffed

You huff me and this saddens me. I am completly new to this whole thing and trying to get a hang of it and share my humor to the world. Sorry if my article was about a man who is myth. Im trying though, there should be some credibility there don't you think? Any ways I'm Big Black and Gay, but thats a lie.

First of all, welcome big black gay who is a lie. Nice to meet you. The mythical persons articles tend not to work very well, unless they're are extremely well written and simulates a genuine encyclopedia article. Yours, sadly, didn't. What I suggest is spend some time reading around to see what's the generally accepted style here. Probably best to start with Uncyclopedia:Best of. Also, read BGBU and HTBFANJS. Those are our bibles. Last but not least, I can restore the article to your user space if you'd like. ~Jewriken.GIF 10:42, January 6, 2010 (UTC)

Nice to meet you too Jew. I appreciate your commentary and will look into all of those and next time when i decide to make another article, Ill hopefully be better and have the correct style of humor noticeably around this sight. And thank you but no thank you, I dont need the article to be restored it's nothing but toast now, but thank you again.

No problem. ~Jewriken.GIF 10:53, January 6, 2010 (UTC)
