Shai

Yo. Page removed earlier, no real problem with that, granted it was put up as a joke. With me so far, yeah? Joke, humour, laughter, and all that. I'm sure I saw something about posting humorous content, and not just idiotic stuff. So, myself and a few other people - who don't have sticks up their arse </pointed remarks> - found it funny. Seemingly, you didn't, and waltzed along to call me a vain shite - your words. Just because you aren't amused, doesn't mean it's not amusing kiddo.

Word to the wise - or not so, as the case may be - grow a brain, and lose the ego. =P

Thanks for your comments. With regards to the "article" it was removed because it is against the site's Vanity Policy. As you pointed out its something that only "you and your mates" find it amusing doesn't mean that it actually is. Uncyclopedia is a spoof encyclopedia, and just as soon as you and your web forum make it into a real encyclopedia we'll welcome you with open arms. Until then there's always MySpace.
By the way, accusing someone of having an ego when you have spammed your non-notable site on here might strike a few people as highly ironic. Seriously, go read the site guides in Community Portal, it will help give you a better feel for what the site is all about. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
You're from the UK? Why am I suddenly filled with shame? :(
First point, am I to take it that, "I and a few mates." are of no consequence, while naturally your high and mighty, vastly superior ass speaks for the majority? Since that's exactly how what you say comes across. My previous comment applies here, the one concerning brains and egos.
Uhuh, so we spammed our 'non-notable' (easily one of the best ROM sites out there, but that's neither here nor there) site on here. Many apologies that a few people decided, on their own, that they felt like posting content related to our website on here at around the same time. Which is, funnily enough, how it happened. 'Seriously', take yourself less seriously, you aren't all that great. Life lesson, for free.
By the by, what happened to the 'seven days'? Or did you just get a little upset that I'm better than you? (Hahar, more vanity. Or wait, is it just a joke? Better get rid of it, since you clearly can't tell the difference.)
mhaille ate my sandwich last week at work (and he pretentds he's a you kay'r!1111!! he's a bloody sandwich stealer!1!!!) and he wouldn't own up to it!!! you know what he said? he said - perhaps some burglar who was hungry ate it!!!1 i mean wtf??!! like i'm an idiot, right?/!! the guy thinks he's super cool or something. leave a message here. colonel swordman was appointed mhaille's anti-admin last week - he's taking all complaints and recording mhaille's misdimeanours and abuse of priviliges. mhaille's on probation but he won't tell you this. I will complain to colonel swordman if mhaille deletes this - i'm serious. -- Sir 2hOoTs CUN | GN | NS |GUN 15:26, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Shai, Mhaille is a longtime admin here who actually knows our policies. You obviously don't. Perhaps you should study up. And your arrogance is tiresome. —rc (t) 16:33, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
I honestly don't care how long he's been here. I'm not saying he doesn't know your policy, I'm saying he's an egotistical, vain, jumped up little git with a poor knowledge of what vanity is, who's too quick to judge others on what he hates in himself. As to arrogance, I state facts, you don't like them, so I'm arrogant? Two words: Fork you. "Beware the first man to accuse others of evil.", as they say.
Now you're just trolling. And it's not even creative trolling... —rc (t) 06:01, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Trolling, yes, clearly. Come on, you can make better accusations than that. Tell you what, for my last response here - since I'll probably forget all about it again within five minutes - I'll play the arrogant role.
If my arrogance is tiresome, why did you bother responding? Shall I tell you? It's because you're insecure, you feel threatened. You want to feed your ego, and somehow prove you're better than me.
As to me, just incase you reflect my question back at me, as a superior being, I feel obliged to tell you all how much you suck, on a fairly regular basis.
Now be sure to have a wonderful day in your land of sunshine, fairies, and boatloads of drugs. That land where you pretend that you matter, and that people care about you. I won't be invading again.

Stub Question

Is Pee Review a good place to put articles that are stubs? Basically, I ran out of ideas for an article I liked and now need someone to make it better. Is there a list of people they especially enjoy doing my work for me? Because those people might like to take this stub. Here it is just in case. Have a field day. Welcoming Commitee Template

Okay, now that I've signed up for the Welcoming Comittee, I think it needs a user box. All I need is a nod from one of the other members, and since sannse is asleep on IRC, I figured I would ask you here. A simple yes, and I'll be off. Also, if you could suggest an image for said box, that would be helpful. Oh, and finnaly, do you think it needs a category? That is all. --Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 16:39, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes. Yes. Yes and No. A Userbox would be a great idea. Don't think it needs a category, but thats only because I get sick of seeing a load of categories everywhere. Image.....image....hmmmmmm. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)

Here is the template, Sannse helped me with it via IRC. Maybe you can make a logo for the Committee (since yours will be much better then anyone I come up with), and stick it on the template.

We do suffer from a lot of "comedians" who find it amusing to paste content directly from Wikipedia into pages here. Hence, the main reason it was huffed. I can move it to your UserSpace to work on the article there if you like? -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
What's wrong with using wikipedia as a template, it's quite a useful technique for satire. It would have been polite for you to assess the finished article on its merits.
Why don't you Spork an article from Wikipedia into your WORD program, then edit it unmercifully there to make your satire complete, then copy it when you want to make it an Uncyclopedia article. I did it with Medical Malpractice and look where it got me!-- Sir Severian Severian1 CUN (Sprich mit mir!) Kraut 15:41, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
The amount of man-power to sit and wait to watch each article develop is not available to us. As Admins we often have to make snap decisions, usually based on previous experience. As I said we have a lot of cases were vandals paste Wikipedia content directly into Uncyclopedia, so we usually have a policy of huff first, ask questions later. I've moved your article to User:ZincBelief/Ken_Livingstone. You can work on it there as much as you like until its ready to return to the main space area. Need any help, just yell. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)

VFD Question

I added an article for morals, and it very quickly received an NRV tag. I then placed a VFD tag on it, but am unable to edit the section for "Pages for Deletion". I believe the article does indeed have redeeming value; I would suggest that the NRV tag be replaced with an expand. Thanks, GravityIsForSuckers 18:27, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

Cyberbullying

Sir Mhaille, it seems that the NUS High article has cyberbullying in it, although I am not too sure. The part about 'Terryaki Chuaken' is probably refers to someone named Terry within the school. I hope you have the time to examine it and check that it is actually considered cyberbullying under Uncyclopedia's policies. Thanks.--Airbag 12:46, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm almost finished with the Zodiak article, but I hope I can fit it all on there, is it okay to go over the 32 KB mark? I only have two more signs to put in. BTW, I love the pic you added and I'm sure we can make this a great page. --Nacky 17:57, 22 September 2006 (UTC)Nacky

Why, Mhaille?

Fine, Nick Who wasn't funny to YOU, why not tinker with it so it fits your odd, delusional sense of humour? Now, I really don't like you, but i TRY my best not to (attempt) a round of insults, theres about 4 of us, we're going to use a log on now, so WHY can we not have our Nick Who article back? HONESTLY it's based on a dick-stain excuse of a human being, yes, but it was IMPERSONAL. In our honest opinion it was an abuse of your, somewhat unearned power as an admin. Notice how not many state how they feel your writings are not all that amusing, simply because you have the ability to unwrite THEIR works? Much like not telling your mother her cooking is horrendous, because you probably won't get any more food after that thus you have to say "s'good!" and hope to Jesus ,Mary (and for good luck) Joseph that you have enough barbecue sauce to kill the wicked creature that has comandeered your dinner plate.

As I have already explained, its nothing personal. The article in question was huffed repeatedly (not just by me) because it goes against out Vanity Policy. It may be that Nick Barker IS a notable person in which case there may have been a valid argument for keeping the article. However rewriting the page to read "He was born in 1991 stillborn. In 2004 he married some guy named Mhaille. They are known to be swingers, and are regularly caught by the paparazi making love in a kiddie pool filled with yellow jelly. There was controversy in 2005 when Nick tried to crack on to a guy named Sam or Dan, no one realy knows exactly which one. Mhaille said it was "ok" though because it was actually a fantasy of his, and he was estatic that his dream had come true. He only wished he could have been there to watch. They have one child named Hinoa, the child unforunatley has the "no-sense-of-humour" gene from his mother (Mhaille)." was probably NOT the way to go about highlighting this, as it gives the impression that the author is just another bitter vandal.
With regards to my "unearned power as an admin" I'd be interested to hear how you think Adminship should be earned? I'll try to add more sauce to my future writings. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
While it's true Mhaille has no talent as a writer (see his extensive list of featured and quasi-featured articles for examples), I can state that he definately earned his powers as an admin, primarily through huffing crap. I can see how your article has a great deal of value and did not in any way deserve huffing, however. Perhaps you could create a userspace (maybe "User:Bitter vandal" since that has been suggested), and we can add your work of greatness as a subpage (maybe "User:Bitter vandal/crap") or something else, you know.. whatever.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 15:39, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

one dark and stormy night i was editing Template:States_Of_Existence. Knocked Up was a red link in it and i had created the page earlier in the day. all links in the template were now blue, much to my delight. i changed the img in the template to a more appropriate one and began reading the different states of existence, the entries, linked to the template. i chanced upon the entry handicapped and midway through it i suffered an epileptic fit induced by cheap bootleg. i did this to the entry. fine -- i could defend it. the next day i returned to start the article from scratch, checked it's history, and was surprised to realize that the contributors to the article had all been veteran uncyclopedians. further, my blanking had gone unnoticed (i.e. not reverted by admins). i thought about it and felt that perhaps i had been a bit harsh in my judgement 'cos only parts of the article were "insensitive" and which could easily be removed/altered. then again, i really had no desire to cross swords with any other veteran (more than one in this case) 'cos it was simply not worth it. what do i do now? what's a graceful way to exit from this sticky situation? should i just revert my edit and forget about it, or something else...? -- mowgli 10:34, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

My advice? I'd revert it about three edits and start a discussion on the talk page. To my mind the article, as was, had quite a few funnies. I'm sure you are aware that blanking or leaving messages is usually a one way trip to Bansville, which is not a popular holiday destination. Start a discussion on the talk page, and even try highlighting this on the talk page of people involved in the writing. If people have better ideas of how to write an article they are usually asked to make a rough version of their replacement article in their Userspace. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
thanks. sounds good. -- mowgli 12:06, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

What's the deal with Ron Howard?

Why is everything about him removed? Does he have a thin skin and threaten or are you the reason?

The article is getting deleted because thats exactly what it isn't, an article. Its a one line comment. The aim of Uncyclopedia is to be a parody of Wikipedia, with encyclopedic style articles. Have a look at one I wrote like Biggles, although they don't have to be quite that long. Try writing several paragraphs on a theme, and split it up with some wikicoding. If you need any help, just shout. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
Then make it encyclopedic rather than wiping it. Nothing says that it has to be silly non-sequiter humor to continue to exist. The best satire is that which is right on the mark. Judging by your (and others reaction), it looks more like this is a sacred cow. Also I see you removed it here so no one could see what it is we are talking about. Lawyers got you scared? Or is it (by your history) that you really just like removing things? Letchomni 14:53, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Your article read "Ron Howard tosel-haired Gingerian forever remember as opie. He has spent his entire adult life trying to direct serious movie toprove that he wasn't really dopey." As you can see its not really an article at all, just a short paragraph. If you want to expand it into an article feel free, but if it re-appears in its shortened form its going to get deleted.
I'm an Admin here, its my job to remove things that don't make the grade. We're here to help, but if you want an article to survive you really need to help yourself and make it better, and in this case longer. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
Also, if you're the writer of an article you want to survive, and the article is deleted, the respose "YOU make it longer" isn't going to work with the person that's deleting it. As you noted, Mhaille usually euthanizes things that are too small to survive out in the wild, like this article was. Put some effort into your work before you demand it to be restored. My comment here is longer than your article was (as was your second comment on this page).--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 15:56, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

hi alex. i've been following this interesting discussion. let my add my 2 cents (i'm not answering for any admin nor am i an admin). your page has been nuked but i read its contents when it was up. i also saw your userpage in wikipedia from where you had linked to that page. to me "that" seemed to be the purpose of the page - to be accessible to readers from wikipedia. further, your page had no "in" links to articles within uncyclopedia. user space is a privilege (that apparently wikipedia, judging from your link, does not extend to it's users but i maybe wrong) and it's purpose is to provide you space where you can store your WIP so that you don't overload the server by editing it in public space (the server churns more in public space when you edit; for example read the fine print in Template:Construction). user space is also for creating single-use templates and signatures - you'd know better; you know a lot of code for your age (a good thing). but it is not for storing information "that has nothing to do with Uncyclopedia." as a case in point, let me cite this user page that i created a week ago: User:Mowgli/More about Mowgli - this page was not nuked despite its having unclear intentions (otoh, it may get nuked now since i have brought it to an admin's attention). hoevere, in its defence, the page does have "in" links and it does have the potential for becoming an Uncyclopedia article. In fact, it will become one, one day (or else it may get nuked - i realize that). if your intention was/is to incorporate your user page into Uncyclopedia, i'd suggest you state this unambiguously. all this is strictly my opinion and i am in no way on expert on administrative policies here. cheers! -- mowgli 11:45, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia does allow & encourage user pages (Wikipedia:Project:Subpages):
We encourage you to create subpages of your own user page if this allows you to better organize your personal content. However, Wikipedia is not a free host - using your user page (or subpages) for content unrelated to writing an encyclopedia is frowned upon, and content can and will be deleted if violations are egregious.
-- mowgli 13:33, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
There are, of course, other factors that we look into, from things such as spamming links, edits and contributions, and, as has already been pointed out, whether or not the "article" is likely to make it into the mainspace or if it serves a purpose for detailing something about the specific User (usually with some humour value). In the past people have pasted "homework notes" whilst in class, chord progressions for their favourite songs and spam to porn sites. Sadly we have to smash them all with the same hammer. In this case, the article was an ongoing disagreement between Wikipedia and ED which contained a whole series of links to ED. No humour value. Coupled with some other edits by the User that were restricted to link spamming ED, its clear that it serves no purpose on Uncyclopedia. There is also no reason as to why Alexjohnc3 could not place the content on ED itself, unless of course it is against their policies? Hope that answers the question. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
Thanks Mowgli and Mhaille. If you want to know why I put it on Uncyc, look at its discussion page (last comment), but I understand that I was misusing the user sub pages now. And I'm not trying to "spam links to ED", I don't like ED much, so I don't see why I'd "spam" links to it (one link?). The article is on ED, so it doesn't matter, but thanks for the information! AlexJohnc3 Complain F@H Fx2 21:32, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Alexjohnc3, it wasn't intended as an accusation, just pointing out that we often need to act because of "how things appear". :) -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)

(A) Hi, (B) Hello, (C) Good Evening

Top Secret Project

So, I start a page at 0730, and by 0821 you've both made a pic and put it on my page. You're like superman. Nice cape, by the way. Is it dryclean only?--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 18:31, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Thats only an illusion of speed, actually I placed the idea in your mind subliminally several days before, which allowed me time to create the image at my leisure. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
...and I thought that the idea came to me on my way to work this morning. But that would imply that I'm doing this during fleeting breaks at work: your version must, by unfortunate necessity, be true. I'm just glad to be writing something "light" again...Solid Gold was too hard to research and write (not to mention the pics)...seems to be doing okay on VFH, though the "I don't get it" is bugging me.
The top secret project pretty much writes itself. Let's hope its pics come as easily.
People have devoted Forum pages to "Where do you get your ideas?", I'm starting to believe that ideas come from the part of your brain that should be concentrating on something else.
Just a theory, of course.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 19:16, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

OK. That's it. Either you let me in on the secret project or Ima gonna huff both a yer asses. Or arses as Mhaille would say. -- Brigadier Sir Mordillo Icons-flag-il GUN UotY WotM FP UotM AotM MI3 AnotM VFH +S 19:19, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

But everyone knows that you can't keep a secret, much less one of the "top" variety.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 19:33, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Mordill: Wow, this took me two seconds to find after you peaked my intrest. Oh and Mhaille, that potochop is a crying shame. --Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 20:59, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Admittedly it wasn't much of a secret, really. It is, however, deeply weird and, hopefully, humourous. Again, I'm just glad to be writing "funny" again, rather than "scary satire". Although, truth be told, the latter is more fulfilling.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 21:12, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Nah, that's not it, you've got several members of the cabal friendly adminatii throwing something around, got Savethemoos and Moneysign in my crosshairs. Maybe we shoue have our own counter-secret project? Oh, and the Waldo thing is looking good. -- Brigadier Sir Mordillo Icons-flag-il GUN UotY WotM FP UotM AotM MI3 AnotM VFH +S 21:27, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, but if I have anything to do w/the cabal (that doesn't exist), they're hurting for drinking buddies.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 21:35, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Mordillo if you want to find a secret project, look in someone's user contributions, then search for pages (on Special:All Pages) that start with the User's name (in the User name space). Its really easy. That's how I find such pages as this one which doesn's acctually have a single link to it. Happy hunting! --Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 02:16, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Easier than that, try Special:Prefixindex, switch to username and drop their name in the box. Viola - all subpages, instantly. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 02:21, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

It's done, I guess...rereading it now, I'm struck by how, while it obeys it's own internal logic, it makes no sense. Or that might just be me. I'd like to find out where ideas come from, someday, so that I can call ideal-land up and ask them to stop messing with me.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 20:29, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Apropo of Nothing

...and completely unrelated to the Top Secret Project...does anyone remember the James Bond theme? I cobbled it together, in "dums" and "doodles", but I haven't seen a Bond flick in ages (mostly because even the best ones kind of suck).--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 14:59, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Linking "Special Pages"

Is there anyway to use those bracket link things to link to logs and pages like that with a particular users name in the text box? Maybe I'll need to clarify, but I'll leave it at that for now.--Holsety 01:58, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Uncyclopedian of the Month

Thanks for your vote and saying that I should be an admin. I might be an admin some day, but I would rather write articles for now than be an admin. I don't think I can do both. Besides I can always report violations to the ban patrol and let a real admin deal with it. --Lt. Orion Blastar (talk) 22:21, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

We can't do both? Oh SHIT...... -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
yes, ha ha! you can't, ha, ha!. you can't UNadmin yourself neither - not in UNcyclopedia, ha, ha, ha! well you wished and it came true. talk to you later, i'm kinda busy (but not in the exact same way you are, ha, ha, ha!). haffun! -- mowgli 18:25, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
I thought I read some where that if you got promoted to Admin, you could no longer write articles. Maybe it was an ignorable policy or something? Hey, by the way, can an admin ban themselves and then unban themselves later, or would the ban prevent them from unbanning themselves? Sort of like shooting oneself in the foot or something. --Lt. Orion Blastar (talk) 01:46, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Both Mhaille and I have had several articles we wrote after becoming admins that were VFH'd. And yes, you can banthe heck out of yourself. You can even ban other admins, though they can ban you back, and then you have to unban yourself, which is annoying.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 03:52, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Protect

I've created this high-risk template (link) that I want protected so people won't screw around with it. Can you protect it for me? --Micoolio101 06:33, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm upset

Why oh why did you huff Tupac Shakur? What was wrong with it exactly? Thanks. --Alex 00:26, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Because it sucked. Hard. And to keep me from doing it myself. He's mean like that. One of two things: Either tag your article with {{construction}} while you're working on it, or, better yet, start it in your user space and move it out when it's finished. We try to keep unfunny stubs from cluttering up our mainspace. And that was an unfunny stub. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 28/10 00:42
I've restored it, by all means see if you can make it into something decent. If you want I can move it to your Userspace as Famine suggests. The article itself has quite a history of looking crap and getting vandalised, and was only deleted a few weeks ago. So your version will be a fresh start. Good luck. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
Meh I can't be bothered with it anymore anyway. --Alex 11:15, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Oggleboppiter

Just curious as to why the Argo Community High School page was deleted. I mean, if it violated any terminologies or something thats fantastic, but you literally deleted it in under 30 seconds. Not exactly enough time to even look for something wrong.

Just curious. And remember to keep it real Oggleboppiter 21:52, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Oggleboppiter

Actually, we're having an ongoing cutdown on all School related articles, as they are often more trouble than they are worth. Nothing personal, we try to nuke them all at birth, its the only way. :) -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
No offense taken. Just wasn't sure why.
We also get a lot of people pasting things directly from Wikipedia for some bizarre reason, which was the other reason I shot first, asked questions later. :) Anyhoo....welcome to Uncyclopedia, if you need any help with anything, just ask. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
