edit Most overrated bands

dude I hope you don't forget the White Stripes, Weezer, and Bruce Springstein's band. Also, I don't know if I'm supposed to edit other peoples' talk pages? I thought you could do that, but I got banned for it for two hours or something?... 05:21, January 4, 2014 (UTC)

I banned you for editing another's userspace without permission, not talk page. Also, switching between a banned IP and an unbanned IP can be considered ban evasion. When you sign up for an account, you get a username. If the page says User talk:Namehere (assuming we had someone who was called Namehere) then it is a talk page. If the page says User:Namehere/Namehere's page then don't touch that page without permission of the user whose userspace it is under. So this page User talk:Maniac1075 is ok to edit, but User:Maniac1075\Top 10 Most Overated Bands of All Time‎‎ is NOT ok to edit unless you have Maniac1075's permission, or the specific permission of an admin. This note is not to be construed as permission. -- Simsilikesims(♀GUN) Talk here. 05:37, January 4, 2014 (UTC)

That page I was working on this morning, I'm not sure if I'll even release it, let alone finish it? I wanna make sure it's coming across as funny, truthful but humorous too... not just showing my rage and anger again towards shit I don't like again :P Parody works best when you do it about something you love, when you do it out of spite and hatred, they don't always work so well. Feel free to add a part yourself about the White Stripes and Bruce Springsteen if you want, I have no idea whom else to add to the last 5. --ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 05:40, January 4, 2014 (UTC)

A very good editing philosophy by Maniac1075, and a very good move by Anon to check via talk page before editing stuff in someone else's area. Spıke Ѧ 13:30 4-Jan-14

edit B.J. Thomas

Also regarding music....Hearing something on the radio today, I decided we needed B.J. Thomas. The Intro is done, but I don't know, and there isn't on Wikipedia, enough for me to go further. Can you pop-pickers provide or invent a funny history of this performer? Spıke Ѧ 00:42 5-Jan-14

I'll give it a whirl... I know the song, but don't know a damn thing about him!

That was quick, thorough, and hit the spot! I gave it a copy-edit. Period after all your "B.J"s, lessened use of the first person where possible; a city close to the border where most of the retail commerce is taken quickly south is MacAllen. Bieber might think Thomas "is shit" but probably wouldn't say so in those terms, being a child star, so please consider rewriting that. I removed your additional initial quotation, as it tends to keep the reader from getting interested when the talking voices at the start of the article start talking to one another. I would like to see another photo, of whomever it is that is chanting OO Ga Cha Ga.

I've added the article to the new work mentioned on the main page. Spıke Ѧ 14:32 5-Jan-14

cool--ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 15:50, January 5, 2014 (UTC)

Now, Wikipedia says the real B.J. is alive. But don't you think yours, having gotten the ultimate comeuppance by Bieber, would have killed himself? In a fitting manner "given the manner in which he lived?" Spıke Ѧ 16:50 6-Jan-14

Probably. --ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 05:52, January 7, 2014 (UTC)

edit User:Maniac1075/Top 10 Most Overated Bands of All Time

FYI--Some of our Top 100 lists have been rewritten lately to de-emphasize numbers. This protects them from a lot of anonymous editors who want to shuffle the rankings, insert Number 5-1/2, add fluff in order to reach 100 (It's good that you focused only on the Top 10), and so on. Just a thought. Looking at your article, I think it would seem more polished if you stuck closer to the "encyclopedia article" format rather than seeming to scold the reader. Maybe rant within the list items, but don't tell me at the start how to read the article. Cheers! Spıke Ѧ 12:54 7-Jan-14

That was gonna get changed anyway... I've changed it again now, but it may go through several reconstructions again. Just FIIK who to add as the last two bands? --ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 13:36, January 7, 2014 (UTC)

No problem! it's safely inside your userspace, so it's not like I'm waiting with the big {{ICU}}! I have already vented my rant against Blue Swede, which no one still knows who they are. At the risk of showing my age, The Monkees were the first famous band explicitly created by marketeers out of not-really-musicians as a manufactured music craze in order to sell stuff. "Yes" is actually my favorite but you could ridicule them for breaking each of pop music's rules and having a concert audience mostly in wheelchairs. Barry Manilow is a musician famous for writing weepy, bad songs. Other than that, there are awful songs, but any act that has survived for long enough for us to remember them must have appealed to someone. Spıke Ѧ 14:57 7-Jan-14

The Monkees I could hang shit on! Damn goody-two-shoes songs and horrible actors... that will work. Manilow is a solo artist tho, or at least known as one even if he did use the same band? I'm not sure, I don't know that much detail about him. As for Yes, I know the name, but can't think of what they sing? Even checking out their greatest hits i'm still not sure... however, like I said, parody usually works best from someone who loves the subject... why don't you add an article on Yes to the list?--ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 18:57, January 7, 2014 (UTC)

Don't even know any hits by Yes? Sigh! You must remember That Horrible Decade, either the 4th or 5th re-forming of the group, where they "went popular" and confined themselves to three-minute songs, 4/4 time, and chords we knew where to find on our guitars? Real Yes fans refer to that as true whoring before they returned to their roots in incoherent "progressive" rock. Apart from all that, I know we have an article on Yes (band), I read it once and it was written by a real fan and don't think I can beat it. ...Yup, just re-read it, written by a true Yes lover (according to your advice in the previous section to write about stuff you love, not hate), heavier on the inside jokes than your list wants to be, but done so well that even a pun Discography isn't a groaner. Spıke Ѧ 19:09 7-Jan-14

PS--Am renaming this file with slash, not backslash. That makes the entire title the property of nonexistent user Maniac...Overrated...etc. Spıke Ѧ 19:13 7-Jan-14

Haha, but I am overrated! Well, if you listen to Alister anyway! What would you say is the biggest hit song Yes recorded? I may not recognize the titles, but I'll probably recognize it when I hear it--ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 06:07, January 8, 2014 (UTC)
Well, the pages pretty much completed. Needs a proof reading. But, any complaints, constructive/nonconstructive/complaints/suggestions? Apart from delete it :P--ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 06:51, January 8, 2014 (UTC)

It's just depressing to answer that question. Owner of a Lonely Heart is the only hit you might recognize, it's decades old and, like the article says, it's not their real stuff but part of the decade they took off in order to actually sell records. Later albums had no hit singles, as Fly from Here won't either.

On the article: Keep working to ensure that it is not in the form of a rant from you to me but an "encyclopedia article" from an Authority to the reader. For example, instead of stating a personal opinion, state "facts" that will draw the reader to that exact opinion, and be sure that any swears do something funny, not just show a different side of you.

On the new illustration for Yes, there is no overt nudity, and all the Admins have defended the use of nudity when in the service of comedy. But the implied nudity here is irrelevant to comedy. (Is that your mom???) We are in the second week of an era in which Wikia has asserted the right to delete pix without asking first, though I have seen no suspicious actions in the logs. Not to restart an old disagreement, but you could help our position by requesting the deletion any personal caches of porn awaiting use.

Now, a separate problem: What this illustration illustrates is that you don't know anything about Yes. While I concede that no one else does either, "nobody knows" and "nobody cares" are overused and trite themes. A better one is that Roger Dean paints many Yes album covers with otherworldly scenes. Why not take something like the "Walmart on the moon" shoop and state that it is a Roger Dean album cover? Spıke Ѧ 14:57 8-Jan-14

Ok, I know who they are now!
No, if that was my mom, i'd be a mother fucker!
That pic is not nudity. Nothings showing. Should it be replaced? 'cause i'm about ready to rev up the engine, take it out of the garage, park it in the main space and run from it claiming their is a bomb in the backseat... truthfully, it's my lunch. I'm just sick of Alister stealing it the little prick--ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 04:07, January 9, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I'll replace it with the joke proposed above. If you move it to mainspace, include it in our "list of lists" template. Spıke Ѧ 03:37 11-Jan-14

PS--What's with the double-spacing and <BR>? At most, use ---- for a horizontal line; don't invent spacing that's different from other Uncyclopedia articles! Spıke Ѧ 03:42 11-Jan-14

It was to make it look neater. However, I am using 1680 by 1050px on my screen. If it looks like shit to others, feel free to remove them.

Where is the lists of lists? I didn't even know there was one. oh wait, you mean add a Category:Lists? done.--ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 05:39, January 11, 2014 (UTC)

edit The Pussycat Dolls

Please see my comment at Votes for deletion. This might not be your type of music, but you might be the one to save this article anyway, before it gets deleted. Spıke Ѧ 11:09 25-Jan-14

edit Batman

Your Batman movies article is epic, at least for around here. congratulations (and no kidding around this time). A masters-piece. I've nommed it on VFH, and if anything on this goddess-forsaken sweaty site deserves featuring, this one does. Aleister 3:59 3-2-14

oh, you *smooch*--ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 05:04, February 3, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, I voted for it, but please make it fit into the "encyclopedia" cover and look less like Stand-up or a chat with a child bouncing on your knee. Less colloquial, and it's not spelled "tho". Cheers! Spıke Ѧ 15:53 3-Feb-14

edit This is not a comment on your talkpage

Are you sure that the vote which was not meant to be there is meant to be there? It would be interesting to know why it is so. Just asking and you are not urged to change anything. Anton (talk) 09:00, February 3, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I intentionally put my for vote in the against column. It has 5 votes for, so it won't effect it!--ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 09:03, February 3, 2014 (UTC)
Ok! Thanks for explaining! Anton (talk) 17:53, February 3, 2014 (UTC)

And what concerns This page cannot be found, great job! I edited it this morning because I liked the beginning and felt sorry for it when the ICU was placed. Now you've managed to do a real article!

The writing is great and the only problem I see is that the text is divided by lines and tags and has no sections. I know this is against your concept, but I just think that it will be easier to read it, if there would be some logical structure. Maybe some big headers that won't be section headings at the same time? Anton (talk) 18:03, February 3, 2014 (UTC)

maybe... I was just trying to make it look like an actual error 404 page layout. They space out everything. So it gives the illusion of first glance that it actually is an error 404 page.
Like this.

--ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 19:59, February 3, 2014 (UTC)

Ok, I understand your concept! Then it's certainly better without sections, but I will see if some information can be reorganized. Anton (talk) 18:09, February 4, 2014 (UTC)

edit Kings of Leon

All right, I've started this article around a photo I saw in a Mexican newspaper. You get to finish it, as I know nothing about this band. Spıke Ѧ 20:07 10-Feb-14

I know nothing of the band either. Hit me up if you want help with AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Kid Rock (why did that page get huffed? Was it so bad?) Uncle Kracka, Warrant, Ugly kid joe, guns n roses, baby animals, cold chisel, Jimmy Barnes, AB/CD, The Angels, The Casanovas, Choirboys, Jackyl, Kiss (tho i hate them now), Motley Screw, Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot, Rock Sugar, Steel Panther, Rose Tattoo, Sellouttica, Spinal Tap, Tesla, The Poor, Theory of a Deadman, Rob Zombie, Dope, Powerman 5000, Scum of The Earth & Jerry Reed.
I already picked on the bands I hated last month. And anything these days in the top 1000 goes without saying.
As for Kings of Leon? I have no idea. I have only ever written one article about a group I knew nothing about, but that was easy to bullshit it about being JFK's band. Nothing comes to mind for Kings of Leon... except them taking on the King of Kings, but no one wants me writing another fucking wrestling article. All me E#/Bflat and Bass player jokes have been done already. You might wanna ask someone else to take over that article. I haven't even heard a good joke lately I can steal to incorporate!--ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 02:25, February 11, 2014 (UTC)

Oh well. I kept it pretty close to the Wikipedia article and got to the end. People who know (or read) the band's actual history might like my rendition of it. For everyone else, there's a nice photo. Spıke Ѧ 02:28 11-Feb-14

edit Short Circuit

I see you are requesting a Pee Review on this one Maniac1075. Seems to rely a reader being familiar with the original film (but I get confused with WALL-E). Perhaps that is a more fruitful line to work around? Discuss: --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 19:37, August 27, 2014 (UTC)

edit Mary Poppins

So I get that you and Spike have a disagreement as regards Mary Poppins. That should be sorted out on a talk page. There was an issue about off-site linking with Wikia and YouTube, just that I know Evil HQ aren't keen. I can also see what you have done at UN:VFD. Does seem more than coincidental? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 13:41, December 5, 2014 (UTC)

It's not a disagreement on anything? If what I write sucks, get rid of as for the off linking thing, I didn't know about that... but I'll stop being lazy and make my own pics in future :) --ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 13:43, December 5, 2014 (UTC)
Cheers to making your own pics; we should not just be a catalog of funny stuff you can get elsewhere. By the way, none of this involves videos.
The new Discography I deleted as we have set out at UN:LIST. Any time Anon adds a toilet pun to a Discography, I go in and root it out. You had toasted the old one in this article, but then added a new one back.
Separately, though: Your new section Mary Can Do No Wrong is funny, and succeeds in not being what it seems, but what it seems to be is not an encyclopedia article. Encyclopedias don't have sentences like "Far be it that from the truth however." It reads like political rhetoric until the reader figures out where you're going with it. Likewise your new Video Games Cause Violence. This could go in UnDebate or UnNews but it doesn't look like encyclopedia stuff.
To get nit-picky, we imitate Wikipedia by not capitalizing every word in a title except proper names. Spıke Ѧ 15:35 5-Dec-14
That pic of the 2+2 thing wasn't actually a video, just a screen cap of one, but i'll do something to improve that later, as the picture wasn't even needed for that joke. I didn't even see the original discography... but I was trying to work out if there is a way to just make a small window appear if you hover over it, but I couldn't work out how to do it? I could make something a lot better if there is some way to do that? Do you know if it's possible?--ManiacJaSg-Maniac1075Complain Here 02:53, December 6, 2014 (UTC)

edit Archiving

I am guessing the articles you are putting to your userspace were deleted via VFD. That's fine, you can do that. I guess you will want that to happen to any other of your articles in case they go the same way, just send them here? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 11:45, August 10, 2016 (UTC)

Most of what I do has a backup somewhere, it's just been a long time since i've been on this site and was just filling in some dead red links.--Maniac1075 (talk) 06:19, August 11, 2016 (UTC)
No, it is not fine; and it is not an issue of available megabytes on Wikia's server. These articles were deleted because voters at VFD thought they were crufty/smutty. The business of this website is encouraging the creation of articles that are fun to read, not being a disk farm for Maniac's personal portfolio; just as when someone uses Uncyclopedia to create and maintain a scorecard for a reality TV program. It is not appropriate to fish copies of deleted articles off some other website and plant them here. Spıke Radiomicrophone14:28 10-Aug-16
Actually, spike, it was put there so I could work on them in future to make them better. But if you insist on deleting everything you personally don't like and have your group of close personal friends you've made here whom agree only with each other, then have your way and remove everything, continuing to drive everyone else away from this site, like you already have in the past. Do you want new users to come to this site? Do you want it feel like a place people can come to, relax, have fun... or do you wanna keep inserting the stick deeper until you have policed this entire site to suit you, and you alone? I've told you in the past, 5 people agreeing with each other is not a majority on what is and isn't funny. But if you wanna spoil it for everyone else, go ahead. The only outcome I see is you trying to put yourself into some position of power and mold a site that is not yours into what you think it should personally be. Quit being so egotistical and lighten up. Before you drive away more people and make new comers feel as welcome as a fart in an elevator. The question you should be asking yourself is why the hell do you consider yourself so high and mighty on what is good and what is not? I looked at 5 of your articles once and put them all up for VFD because not one of them was funny, interesting or creative. So who are you to judge anyone else? I do what I do for a bit of fun, why do you always seem to be stressing over what someone else does? Go outside and get some fresh air. It's not life or death. And I really don't care what you have to say back about it, you either take what i said with a grain of salt and better yourself, or not... end of story as far as i'm involved with it--Maniac1075 (talk) 06:18, August 11, 2016 (UTC)
I thought that wasn't a problem but perhaps somewhere this was discussed in years past so we can be consistent. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 16:26, August 10, 2016 (UTC)
