Hi! I would like to know about something that could be really helpful since I often spot vandalism that are more than one consecutive edits; how do I get to be able to do rollbacks? Is there an initiation like dancing on hot coals? Seriously, it would be useful, since I am often online, I sometimes see vandalism like I just mentioned, but it's too much of a pain to revert 4 or 5 edits, so I let it go and it likely slips through the cracks. And well, I think I proved that I am trustworthy, I only have a joke ban on my block log. Snowflake mini Mattsnow 21:54, June 26, 2011 (UTC)

Easiest way to do this is to go to the historical version you want to rollback to, edit and then save. No extra privilege required. Pup 09:59 26 Jun '11
Oh, ok, I hit the undo thing of the FIRST vandalism, is that right? Snowflake mini Mattsnow 22:12, June 26, 2011 (UTC)

Couldn't be more Freudian unless you dreamt we were running up the side of a tower with fireworks on top. Pup 08:57 30 Jun '11

Firstly, huh? Although having said that the QVFD tag appears in the same order on my browsing. Would it be better to attach the share tab the same way? (I haven't looked at how it is attached, btw - just thinking).

Secondly, and the reason why I came here, is VFD and the way that is structured. That would make more sense to me if it were set-up similarly to VFH - separate page per entry, a create page inputbox, shown as a dpl. I can probably put that in place without too much issue, but I don't like working unilaterally on a major change to something related to maintenance. What be your thinking?

Thirdly, I'd appreciate an {{browserdata}} function to be able to workaround some of the inconsistencies with IE. Are you able to add a js function that does a browser detect (navigator.appName & appVersion) that can send the results to a template which can then be used to manipulate the page coding? I think that made sense. Pup 03:35 30 Jun '11

Not really, seeing as it's supposed to go there, specifically there, and nowhere but there... although there's also supposed to be another down menu next to it, but since it won't work, either, the entire thing is even more messed up. Hence why the tabs are all backwards in vector in the first place. Mind, in monobook it adds it the same way as any other added tab, but I don't think it's actually activated for that, so you'd not see it anyhow.
It'd be doable, but why?
Uh... seeing as I'm really not sure what you mean, not really... what do you actually want this thing to do?
Also, did you ever get around to making those USP templates? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 04:39, 30 June 2011
I started on the USP templates, but never finished them. I'll have to get back onto them. I tried being too clever for my own good, and made it difficult for others to use them.
As to the why - nothing particular at the moment. I've had times in the past where I've wanted to do something that failed at cross browser stuff though - generally relating to my habit of using positioning - but haven't done it for a while. The main issue though is columns. wikipedia:Template:Div_col gives a solution for multi-column stuff, which is useful for layout which works better in columns. Lonely hearts column is somewhere where this would be useful, but it dies when looking at IE or Opera. Having a catch in there that says if (browser = IE and version < 10) or (if browser = Opera and version < 11.0) then do this differently would be useful. Then it could be set up so that rather that having a column start and a column end it would count the characters in a section and divide them neatly into x amount of columns at the next white-space character and pop those in a table of one row and x cells with no borders or other decoration. I've thought about this for a while, as columns works better in some areas than tables do, as tables are sometimes picky with column widths and screen resolutions. It's only one area where can see an advantage in knowing what browser you're using.
It's a thought, nothing more, and something that I would use only once or twice, but still has an advantage to have the capacity. Pup 07:09 30 Jun '11
You can't really say "do this differently" because the thing you want done is not supported by earlier versions of IE than IE10. It's a CSS3 thing.  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  SU&W) 07:18 Jun 30, 2011
You can - rather than having it as a CSS thing, force it into a table on non-compliant browsers. Pup 07:21 30 Jun '11
And if we're going to do that, might as well keep the entire thing in the table in the first place, seeing as keeping that table working would take a fair bit of extra care.
That said, if you really want a template to check browsers and act accordingly, there are other less silly potential uses, but you'd probably have to make it yourself, as I'm really not that familiar with javascript. I can tell you this, though - you can't use js to pass stuff back to the template. Templates are used server-end, and js is client end. Once the js is activated, the template is already generated. You can, however, use js to toggle visibility of things according to certain parameters, so that might be an approach. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 07:27, 30 June 2011
That's along the lines of what I was thinking. The template was just a dummies way of incorporating it onto a page. Again, there's only been a couple of times when I've wanted to have that implemented, so it's not a big deal. That example was just that - an example, and I've never really used columns in CSS3 before. Once IE10 becomes a little more common place I possibly will. Nevermind - it's not a big issue. Well, there's your problem... you're using IE. But seriously, do me a favour and go look at the UnNews mainpage, will you? Does it... look right to you? Is the bar thing yellow with a globe, or just plain white? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 13:51, 1 July 2011
I see the normal UnNews logo with no problems, and I see the "Welcome to UnNews" bar in yellow with some globey gradient effects on the right side of it. Maybe it would help to check the page history of the image I uploaded: in the previous version, I forgot the nowiki for "{{logo}}" in the summary and it superimposed the potato on the Commons logo. Does that shed any light on the issue? -- Tinypony Sir "TheSlyPony" Invariably certifiable. 14:01 July 1, 2011 (UTC)
Not really... so it doesn't work on your page? Does it work on other ones? You page looks fine to me, but the last time this happened, half the js on the site quit working for firefox. Just firefox, mind. Turned out Dr. Skullthumper broke something, that time.
I suppose I could probably just upgrade my firefox and look myself, but I'm in the middle of a nice videogame and that computer is quite thoroughly occupied with that... >.< 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 14:06, 1 July 2011

Good evening

Today, I decided to come out of retirement on Uncle Pete for some odd reasons; namely, Illogicopedia's servers going down and cheerleaders taking over RationalWiki. I don't know whether you're a crat here, but I would like my name changed here to Colonel Sanders, which I use at every other wiki (I still used "ColbertNation" on ?Pedia when I signed up here, and was afraid the guys here would mistake me for a Colbert troll, and that's why I'm asking in the first place). If you can't do it, please take it to the proper authorities. Much appreciated.--Secret Agent 00:32, July 4, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, hello... annoying, isn't that? But this is on Wikia, so even the bureaucrats can't change names - have to talk to staff for that. You can try sannse on her talkpage; she's the resident staff lady here, or just use the Special:Contact to throw the request at whoever... but they're usually pretty helpful. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 10:42, 4 July 2011
Oh. Could I just create a new account named Colonel Sanders or would I have to go through all that hoopla with Wikia?--Secret Agent 15:23, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
You could do that, too. Not like you'd lose all that much, since you didn't do that much before... just don't use your old account if you do do that or someone will probably come yell at you. *shifty eyes* 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 15:27, 4 July 2011
Colonel Sanders was too similar to the existing name "Colonelsanders", so I had to settle for this.--Colonel H. Sanders 15:36, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
There is a thing checking for that? O_o Well, er... nice to meat your, Mr. Chicken. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 16:36, 4 July 2011
Thank you. I can't wait until Illogic's servers go back up. In the meantime, I'll come up with something that just may not get deleted (though chances are it probably will).--Colonel H. Sanders 16:45, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
Different things get deleted at different thresholds, too, so bear that in mind. And indeed, I have a pickley thing to write. Not that I can't write it now, but this whole blark have me down. That, and I want pictures. Pictures seem to break it. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 18:01, 4 July 2011

Eat your vegetables

Just though I’d explain my comment on the vote-o-rama. Don’t take this as a negative attack thingy but it had appeared to me that any article that was based on a specific subject was always dismissed as “cruft”, which I had interpreted to be a bunch of in jokes. It’s like when someone tells a shitty story and concludes it by saying, ”oh, but I guess you had to be there.” I’m not saying that’s always a bad thing. If some unfortunate lost soul stumbles on this little website and searches for their favourite thing in the whole wide world, such as Polish cheese factories, they will understand a lot of the Polish cheese factory references. Conversely, if a different lost soul stumbles on in and sees the featured article is about Polish cheese factories, they may not understand the jokes and be lost to the site forever, which may or may not be a bad thing, depending on the amount of anti-social cave dwelling hermits that inhabit the user space. In essence, I feel the feature articles should be accessible to most people, even Polish cheese enthusiasts, in order to snare a few more return visits. That said, there have been worse things featured in the last couple of weeks or so that don’t even closely resemble a “Wikipaedophile parody article” in the slightest.HauntedUndies. 04:36, July 4, 2011 (UTC)

I'm not going to say I did a terribly good job of it, because I probably really didn't, but of course an article on a specific subject would be based on that subject, no? It's about the subject, and any parody thereof will naturally speak primarily to those familiar with the subject; thus is the nature of parody and satire. I agree in principle that at least some of such articles should still be generally accessible, but on the other hand, how in tarnation would you make an article about, say, the British National Party funny to someone not familiar with British politics? It's really a toss-up, this humour stuff. Ideally, if people on VFH would just vote on whether or not they think it's good and funny, the voters could serve as a sample representation of the readers - if a majority of the voters find something amusing, chances are a majority of the readers will too. Unfortunately I've found people like to get upset when I vote against everything I don't fine funny, probably because I find almost nothing funny, even though if I'm like that, chances are at least some potential readers are, too.
Hmph. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 11:02, 4 July 2011
I totally agree with what you say about the content being accessible to the reader without whoreing it out to everyone as a bunch of simple fart jokes. I wasn’t trying to ruffle your feathers or other body coverings, merely stating what I had interpreted as some sort of unwritten law of non-in-jokering-with-features. As with the voting, I personally abstain from articles that are well written and probably funny to some people because I don’t get the jokes. I also abstain from voting on shitty incoherent articles due to their shittyness and incoher… you know what I’m getting at. I feel there should be a way of thumbs upping an article like yours that’s well written, has good tone and pacing without necessarily featuring it, as someone that’s seen the movie would be likely to go looking for it with the searchamacallit.Besides, this is just a personal view, but VFH is just an ego trip wank-a-thon, if people come to the site and want to read a piss take of a certain subject they’ll find it or write their own. You write so other people can enjoy it, even if they don’t wet themselves, and unfortunately most of the people that will read it will never know YOU did it. Anyway, maybe some sort of system with a for or against feature and a mark out of ten in terms of quality. Pretty cheesy I know, but I just had a lobotomy and can’t come up with anything else. Now, back to my drooling, Uhhhhhhhhhhhh. HauntedUndies. 12:15, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
Ah, I see. When people vote against things for being in-jokes, though, they generally mean Uncyclopedian in-jokes - as in, not accessible to anyone outside of regulars here, as opposed to more general you have to have seen 2001: A Space Odyssey to understand the 2001: A Space Odyssey article. A lot of people have. I haven't; have no idea what's going on in that article. Random example.
As for the other thing you're describing, a rating of sorts - you saw when we were trying to get rid of the existing one, no? It just doesn't work in practice, is the problem. We can't even get people to vote on VFH, let alone mark a thing on random other articles... and they change so much that any old votes are basically worthless anyhow. And other stuff. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 12:38, 4 July 2011
Other stuff ey? Sounds exiting. You make a fair point about the space odyssey thing, so I take the cruft thing back. Also, I just feel people seeing a big red cross on their vfh may view it as an insult, and likewise, people don’t want to insult others. But then again some people are way to easily insulted, sometimes even by people picking their nose and eating it in public, without offering to share it first. Ah well. Uhhhhhhhhhhh HauntedUndies. 10:56, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
People see a lot of things as insults. Doesn't mean you oughtn't vote against something if you don't think it should be featured, but it does help to give sensible reasons when doing so, and perhaps even more than that, to be consistent about it, lest some people get the impression you're just out to get them. *shifty eyes* 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 15:58, 5 July 2011
'Cruft, when used here, is usually a shortened form of the word listcruft, which is a portmanteau of list and the 80's programming term cruft which relates to poor programming. As a broad rule it means an article that is predominantly a list, or has several lists included. Lists often tend to be unfunny. There are some lists that do survive on here (worst 100's for example) but are extremely unlikely to make it to front page. HTBFANJS talks about lists, as well as in-jokes and stale jokes. Rules, impossible?! What is this madness? Thanks for not being annoyed at it. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 17:00, 5 July 2011

Suppose there is a town with only one male barber; and that every man in the town keeps himself clean-shaven: some by shaving themselves others by attending the barber. the barber obeys the following rule: He shaves all and only those men in town tath do not shave themselves.

therefore we can ask the following question: Does the barber shave himself?

because If the barber does not shave himself, he must abide by the rule and shave himself but if he does shave himself, according to the rule he will not shave himself. --(๏̯͡๏)Bandeira PT"half-moon" bubba  yay, hidden text!Hammer and sickle(ಠ_ರೃ)19:33, 5 July 2011

  1. The town only has one male barber, but 20 female ones.
  2. The male barber is a native American who cannot grow facial hair.
  3. The barber travels to another town in order to get a shave.
What a really stoopid scenario. And all it proves is that when an impossible rule is put into place, you have an impossible rule. I have another scenario. 10 people are sitting in a circle. At a predetermined signal they are all meant to face the person to the left of them and, once they have made eye contact, introduce themselves. They are not allowed to turn any other direction until they have finished introducing themselves.
Or another one - in the game of two up, played in Australia and only on the 25th of April, the game is played by betting on the outcome of two coins tossed in the air. A particular casino have over-extended it's wagers, and the croupier is advise that he has to ensue on the next toss the coins are not to land on either heads or tails.
Or again - a Catholic believes according to his faith that during mass on a Sunday the bread transubstantiates into the flesh of Jesus, which he then has to eat in order to remain in the faith. He also according to his faith is not allowed to eat any meat, which includes human flesh, during the 40 days of Lent. So if he eats the meat nee bread he breaks his faith, and if he doesn't he breaks his faith.

Vector tab question

Sorry if you're the wrong person to ask but, I was wondering how this wiki managed to extra vector tabs, namely the "share tab". I've been trying to do something similar on another wiki, but with no success.-- 16:27, July 7, 2011 (UTC)

Well, we're actually using monobook, so we just add them as any old cactions tab. But since you're probably not on a host that's a giant pile of suck and thus using the actual vector skin, you'd just have to add the tab to the p-views instead instead of the p-cactions and then it should show up as a tab. Pretty sure the addPortletLink'll handle that like normal, but if not the function shouldn't take much modification to get to work. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 16:41, 7 July 2011
I'm kind of confused as to what to do. I'm looking at the contents of "User:Lyrithya/share.js" and where would you add addPortletLink and would you change ...getElementById('p-cactions'); into ...getElementById('p-views');? Sorry if I'm being/sound irritating. -- 17:36, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
How do you add tabs normally? Let's just start there. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 17:46, 7 July 2011
function createTab() {
 addPortletLink( 'p-cactions', wgArticlePath.replace(.....),... );
addOnloadHook( createTab );
Using that.-- 18:09, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
Mkay... and I assume that adds the link to the dropdown menu? To add it as a tab in vector, do this instead:
function createTab() {
 addPortletLink( 'p-views', etc... );
addOnloadHook( createTab );
Mind, if it's something you want to work cross-skin, you should probably make it so it checks if skin == 'vector' before doing that, and do the normal p-cactions thing otherwise. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 18:21, 7 July 2011
I'll try asking someone on a forum as I'm still confused.-- 19:02, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
If you want to add a tab in vector, don't try to add it to the cactions menu. Add it to the views menu. That's all there is to it. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 19:35, 7 July 2011
I know how you add the tab it's just what to put inside the "etc" bit. Does the whole of

function createTab() {

addPortletLink( 'p-views', etc... );

} addOnloadHook( createTab ); </pre>

go underneath whatever's in share.js? or in Vector.js? -- 19:42, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
Making the tab and adding the dropdown are two entirely separate things - make the tab first. Then append the dropdown. At least that's how I do it; if you want a less kludged example of this kind of thing, you might want to look at Twinkle on wikipedia. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 19:49, 7 July 2011
I give up.-- 20:04, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
Perhaps you should ask Zombiebaron instead. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 20:27, 7 July 2011
I've tried asking Zombiebaron and he's clueless about what I'm trying to ask. After asking the same question on a forum, they mentioned something about having to install/link to additional javascript libraries in order to get their code to work, so I'm not sure if the Yahoo js library thing is causing it not to show up
If you still need it, look in the MediaWiki:Common.js here - you will find a function to add a dropdown matching the name of the function the script for the share links calls; copy that as well and the thing should work. Sorry; I forgot I separated it out. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 23:21, 14 July 2011

Deleted Article

Hi. I just noticed that an article (The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass) I was working on got huffed five days ago. I was kind of disappointed because I worked hard to write out the rape jokes from that article and get pictures into it. (Never noticed that the maintenance tag was there in the first place). Greetings from the Internets

Hello you! I wanted to wish you well on your sabbatical! Even though the place just isn't the same without you here, you've done so much around here that you deserve a break. Request for Pictures

Hey there. I was wondering if you could make some pictures for my articles, HowTo:Be a Purebred American, UnScripts:Son, Go Clean Your Room!, and Zombie Americans.

For HowTo:Be a Purebred American, I'm going to need a picture that looks like a fat man sitting on the couch, watching Fox News; and on the TV screen, I want it to say FAUX NEWS! YOUR SOURCE FOR TOP MISLEADING STORIES ABOUT THE BIASED WARS AND PROPAGANDA!

For UnScripts:Son, Go Clean Your Room!, I would like a series of pictures, such as:

  • A family picture; with a dad (make him angry, with a Nazi symbol branded on his head), a mom (mixed with black, white, and purple), and a son (two-buck teeth, multiple freckles)
  • Two black guys (one with a grill on his teeth, smiling but with his eyebrows in angry mode, make him bald with a wifebeater t-shirt; (and another one with a bandana on his head, a shirt saying, "I KILL YOU, BITCH!"; and with a stupid, mean look on his face)
  • Cheech and Chong
  • Two gay guys (one with pink shirt; holding coccane, another with pick shirt holding cosmos (liquir); both of them with a drunk, happy look on their faces)
  • A father exploding

TIP: For that article, make them all look very stupid, using claymation mixed with real pictures.

I'll get back to you with the article Zombie Americans in the mean time; for my computer is slowing down like a slug coated with salt.

--Lucyfer & his friend, Wlado! 19:21, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

I hate to say this, but I'm really not one you should be talking to about doing anything, right now. Just don't have the time, especially for so many so strange requests. Not that there's anything wrong with requesting images, but have you considered using more existing images for things, taking real photographs and whatnot or finding similar notions with a search engine and then using captions to make them fit and/or funny? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 17:00, 18 July 2011

Well, I can use Paint on my computer, but that's not going to make good pictures. Besides, I don't have a camera; and I'm flat broke. How about you just finish your other projects and then once you're done with that, you can make my photos? Besides, I'll be patient.

PS. Reply to my talk page, please. --Lucyfer & his friend, Wlado! 22:08, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

Office Space

Just idling by and looked at Office space a bit closer. I am puzzled by this line:- ..they moved my desk seven times, seven times, they moved my desk,.. is this correct, scans a bit strangely to me. If the second is a repeat of the first perhaps this instead or they moved my desk, seven times and when they saw what they had done, they moved it seven more...(inspired by the ballad of Lizzie Borden). Am I back? I don't feel back. Usually when I'm back I do things, and I haven't done anything yet. But yeah... mind, folks also act differently toward different folks, often without even realising it. If they like someone, they're more likely to try to agree with them, for instance, and try to be agreeable, and if they dislike someone they'll probably find a lot more of what the other person does distasteful, whether or not they might normally find it so, and that's but one thing apt to affect it. But a fair amount is also just directed, circumstance, reaction, etc, and things the average passerby ain't apt to see or recognise, that kind of thing. Talkpages and forums and weirdnesses and cheese, and shifts over the course of months or even years, for some folks. But you also just seem better with people in general. I'm terrible with people. Can you tell? Doesn't really help that I'm apparently female, either... although a lot of it really is just IRC; main wiki's nicer by comparison, at least. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 08:21, 30 July 2011
LOL, I don't think you're terrible with people at all! I can't think of a particular time, not with me or something I've seen on a talkpage. And the new skin is great! Jimmy Johns

Why did you huff my Jimmy John's article? I realize it wasn't great yet but I just started it. WORK IN PROGRESS. Anyway I'm going to recreate it with more content but I would appreciate it if you did not delete it as I work. Thanks.

It seemed very random, with no apparent cohesion, and was not marked as a work in progress, so there was no way to know that. In the future, you may want to put a {{construction}} template on articles you're working on in mainspace like that one, or if you create an account (and there are numerous reasons to do so, none of which I can currently think of, but that's not the point), you could also create and work with as many as you please in your userspace.
Anyway, I've restored what you had so far here and cleaned it up a bit, but you'll want to expand it and upon it for it to stay there, else it'll just get deleted again in a week or so. Go into your ideas with more detail, make jokes that clueless people and others alike might be apt to get, and consider your audience as you go, that should help. Or just... write more in general, I don't know. Best of luck, mon. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 21:14, 30 July 2011

You react too fast, mon. Or maybe I'm just slow. But anyway, userpages really are a kind of... sacred space, so to speak; they're... well, personal, so we normally don't touch other people's ones, end of story, unless expressly invited or some such. You're not wrong about how that should be a subpage, nor in trying to help out, but please, let the users do the actual editing; a little guidance can go a long way and if that doesn't suffice, well, they can ask if they do want you to show them. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 04:23, 15 August 2011

Advocacy of a sad clown

Hi there. Sorry for having angered the goddess of knowledge with my indulgence in sockpuppetry. The reason I wanted to create another account was purely to build an archetypal persona to add its extra comedic potential in the field with his obsessive infatuation with bad puns, and perhaps eventually switch to that account and drop my current one since I find the name I'm using right now to be a tad fruity. I had announced it on its page to show that I did not intend this to be a secret, and thus hold no sneaky intents. So it was all in good will.

I went over the whole ignorable policies section again and searched a bit in it. It was hard to find an explicit warning that sockpuppetting was punishable by death penalty. This is all I could find and, if I may say so in my defense, I think it's relatively vague. My apologies if I am missing something enormous or if I'm being really stupid for not taking for granted that having more than one account is forbidden. Everything is relative.

Anyway, if I can absolutely not operate two accounts, then I'd rather be active by DreadfulPunMaster than DoctorRainCloud, if that is possible. They're both freshly created so it wouldn't be a big loss nor a source of confusion to drop one account. Thank you. --DoctorRainCloud 22:00, August 15, 2011 (UTC)

Alright, I've unblocked the other, but please, only use one account. It's too difficult to keep track of everyone in a place like this, and the potential of baddity too great, otherwise. And yeah, Uncyclopedia's policies and whatnot aren't the clearest, I know. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 22:50, 15 August 2011
Well thanks. I'll just be using PunMaster then. Also geeze! How did I not see myself get so wordy here? Sorry about that. --DreadfulPunMaster 00:43, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

TAW 2011

Hey Lyrithya,

I'm doing some last minute work on this year's contest and I just wanted to get some feedback from former participants.

  1. I recently redesigned UN:REQ, based on Wikipedia's version, since the page was very slow to upload for some users (myself included). I'm wondering though if it's a bit too large and also, perhaps, if it was better having everything in one place?
  2. I've limited the choices to three basic categories: UN:REQ, UN:VITAL and Wanted Pages. This is based on general feedback from last year which limits the number of judges and, hopefully, encourages more participants.
  3. I've added optional "challenge" categories. There isn't any need for judges since the goal is to complete the task itself. I thought it might be a fun idea and offered something different to other competitions. Do you think this is too much?

I don't know if you're participating this year but I wouldn't mind seeing one or two "returning champions" coming back this year (if only as judges). :) MadMax 23:15, August 19, 2011 (UTC)

  1. Well, I took a brief look at UN:REQ, and sure, it's big, but that's good, I think. More options, and thus more things to strike folks' fancy that way... not really any harder to look at with it in subpages, either; should actually make specifics easier to find that way.
  2. As I don't really remember what the setup was last time, I'll just say... uh... sure. Sounds good.
  3. The challenge is a little odder... it may or may not be a good idea; could just confuse folks and overcomplicate things, aye... or it could prove an interesting sidetrack for folks who are indeed up for a challenge. I couldn't say. O_o
We'll see how active I am come the thing itself, but anyway I hope this helps. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 22:23, 20 August 2011

Thanks I appreciate it. MadMax 00:31, August 21, 2011 (UTC)

Actually, I now do have something to say. Or ask, more specifically. This. I'm after an opinion, but don't want a review, not even a quick one. All I need to know is: needs a lot of work, fair to middling but never going anywhere, or worth a speculative nom? Just wondering, really, since most of my articles that I thought were fair to middling but never going anywhere have now been featured, so I have decided I haven't a clue any more. Plus we've had some bad family news, so I'm not actually sure I have a sense of humour right now. Hey ho. Finally, hope you are well and all that. Toodles! --UU - natter UU Manhole 11:15, Aug 21

What's shower gel? But people'll probably like it. Maybe. I don't know. It seems to have jokes, though, which is always good. Or is it? You mean Pee Week? Might be a good idea, indeed. Meantime, I stuck a note regarding the lack of reviewers in the UnSignpost, but I doubt that'll make any impression. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 14:26, 24 August 2011
I was hoping to try and keep things alive with the pee week, seeing as how september is close and it fits perfectly with the format. This is where I was looking to request your assistance as I assume I need to ask an admin to put the header on the top of the page like they did for that Summer contest and FFW. By tomorrow, I'll archive the last one, update a new one, and hopefully get it ready within a week before the 13th. If you're too busy though, I can go ask someone else, if it's too much trouble. Merm. --Sir Oliphaunte (განხილვა)  Georgia-flag-on-soccer-ball-vector 14:45, August 24, 2011 (UTC)
It's because I just got a social life... sorry about that. --Black Flamingo 15:54, August 24, 2011 (UTC)
At least someone around here has one. --Sir Oliphaunte (განხილვა)  Georgia-flag-on-soccer-ball-vector 17:05, August 24, 2011 (UTC)
No, wait, turns out it was just a psychotic episode. I'll report to peeing HQ as normal on Monday. --Black Flamingo 23:10, August 24, 2011 (UTC)
Let me know when you're ready for a thingy in the sitenotice. Or would that be overuse of the sitenotice? Or is that what it's for? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 23:47, 24 August 2011

...Do something amazing! --Black Flamingo 16:15, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

Why did you tag my article as ICU when its a perfectly good article that I put a lot of time in. --Swayne16 05:38, August 24, 2011 (UTC)

If you mean Assassin's Creed, the ICU was added for precisely the reason it says on the ICU - the article appears to be nonsense. Magic mushrooms? Roof runners? If you're implying that the games are weird, great, that's a reasonable thing to do, but perhaps you could make the connection more clear; as it is it's hard to tell just what the article really is about, if anything, and reading articles about nothing is not inherently entertaining. Not trying to disparage ye, but the article in its current state could really use some improvement, and hopefully this will help.
On a side note, going around asking other admins for a second opinion isn't likely to be terribly useful when they aren't even active ones, but even if they were, admins are... dangerous folk. Bothering several of them can be a recipe for disaster. Oh, and new talkpage messages generally go at the bottom. Hence why I moved it. Just so it's all in order. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 12:57, 24 August 2011
Swayne River, I took a quick glance at the page and much of it is very good. When an admin like Ltritia or however the name is spelled takes the time to criticize a full article, they usually have some points to make (or are just having a bad day on the golf course), and instead of fighting for your good page try and make it into a great page! It's possible. Litreriya hated my article on the Puddle of shit, and instead of doing nothing I added a section near the bottom "And then there's this..." which tied the page together and gave it a moral ending. Life is like that sometimes. Magic mushrooms teach us this. Aleister 16:06 20something-8-'11
Actually, Funnybony pretty much summed up my main problem with that thing, which adding more of anything ain't likely to solve. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 01:29, 25 August 2011

ICU for "Psychopath"

I didn't recall submitting that particular article for general circulation. I thought it was just in my user space. Could you bring it back in my user space please? Phrank Psinatra 19:51, August 24, 2011 (UTC)

It apparently wound up back here. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy 02:39, 25 August 2011
