edit Not a typo

Corpse wasn't a typo. It was a pun. The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk • contribs)

Anon, please point the rest of us to the page you're talking about. Spıke ¬ 17:22 5-Jan-14
PS--Anon now reverts you at UnNews:Obama fulfills campaign promise, becomes invisible with in-line comments to future authors. Evidently a reference to Obama's notorious mention of the "marine corpse" [sic]. Spıke ¬ 18:43 5-Jan-14

I too needed a Source for that news; thanks! Spıke ¬ 13:14 7-Jan-14

No worries. We must be outside of the golden age group. "We basically have a stranglehold on all the personal information of every 14-24-year-old out there.” Leverage (talk) 16:08, January 7, 2014 (UTC)

Certainly at most its customers, and they are no Twitter or Facebook. A separate problem is that the article is not original humor so much as the truth told jauntily: Certainly the Suits at Snapchat et al are working on how to "monetize" their database of personal information. With that concern I do reveal my age. Spıke ¬ 16:40 7-Jan-14

edit Ernest Hemingway

Could I please transport your rewrite of this from the uncyco here? And nominate it on VFH? And then Top Ten of 2014? Anton (talk) Uncyclopedia United 16:24, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

I am happy to do it. I was even toying with bringing Breaking Bad Wind, but I think I uploaded a few things for that, which makes it harder work. Leverage (talk) 18:50, April 8, 2014 (UTC)
All play and no work makes Jack a dull boy. I'll upload things for you here if you upload a few pics for me there (wheeling and dealing). Aleister 19:17 8-4-14
Would it be possible to do the same with text? I could email you my articles, and you could paste them up? Leverage (talk) 11:42, April 9, 2014 (UTC)
New pages are welcome. Do not replace existing pages without doing the old authors the courtesy of posting on VFD. Spıke ¬ 12:04 9-Apr-14
Who replaced anything? Leverage (talk) 12:24, April 9, 2014 (UTC)
I think Spike refers to the Ernest Hemingway re-write. Although I disagree, re-writes can be done without VFD permission. Sir ScottPat (converse) White Ensign Scotland Flag 1 Compassrose VFH UnS NotM WotM WotY 12:39, April 9, 2014 (UTC)
If that's the case a) it's not a re-write, it was more of an extensive edit. Nothing was "replaced". b) if he doesn't like it, revert it there, though it would be an intriguing development to suggest that no pages here can be extensively edited. And if it is reverted back to the last version (as spike himself left it, ironically), bear in mind that aside from the content, the article wasn't even formatted correctly, which was the reason I started editing it in the first place. Leverage (talk) 12:50, April 9, 2014 (UTC)
I won't put your whole catalogue up, that would take a month, but some of them are way too funny not to share with all the citizens. Features for sure. Ernie Hemingway had a thing for drink (just sayin') and for writing while standing alone or with friends at his typewriter in the morning. Aleister 12:45 9-4-14
Edits of an entire article for the express purpose of importing material from elsewhere are replacement and not merely "sharing." An author might want his due 24-hour notice that his work was about to be replaced in favor of work by a different editor from a different website. It does not depend on quality or honors. Spıke ¬ 12:54 9-Apr-14
Ah, so it's a fork-wikia thing. "For the express purpose of importing material" doesn't cut much ice with me, firstly because editing the page had no other "purpose" here or there, than to improve it. It reflects neither well or badly on the fork, because it makes no relationship to it, it's simply the editing of the same piece of text on two sites. Secondly, as I said before, the "importing" part doesn't really work, because I added very little to what is there. It was more an attempt to keep what was funny; the article remains 99% the previous author's work. Finally, last time I checked I was an editor on BOTH sites and a) that editing there doesn't preclude me (or ally, or anton) from editing here, and b) just like any other user here, I think my edits should be judged on quality or honours, not merely where I spend my time. I repeat, Spike, if you don't like it, it's very simply, revert it. Otherwise, have a coke and a smile and shut the fuck up. Leverage (talk) 13:08, April 9, 2014 (UTC)
Woah! You seem to have taken it differently but Spike's first message seemed like a reminder for future cases when I read it! Not some attack to try and crack down on you re-writing articles. No one has brought up an argument and yet you seem to be trying to shove hate into this discussion. Let's not start a hate war. You're both great writers. Sir ScottPat (converse) White Ensign Scotland Flag 1 Compassrose VFH UnS NotM WotM WotY 13:51, April 9, 2014 (UTC)
What I think SPIKE meant, but did not phrase particularly clearly, is that articles should not be replaced with rewrites without listing the original on VFD and proposing it be replaced. This process allows the author of the existing article to have a say and helps prevent arguments over whose page is better. As with all things this rule should be applied with common sense and should not be used to prevent people replacing poor articles with quality ones. If you aren't sure ask, if the person you ask isn't sure use VFD. This has nothing to do with the fork or the provenance of articles and everything to do with trying to ensure that where someone has contributed an article it is given a fair hearing before being replaced. I have contributed several of my articles to the fork and it's excellent to see some coming the other way. I would welcome further sharing between both sites, with consent of the editors involved, obviously. I have unblocked Leverage, his article is now in mainspace. It is splendid. End of discussion. --ChiefjusticeGameBoy 17:44, April 9, 2014 (UTC)

Leverage, I hope Spike's ban hasn't discouraged you from sticking around. You're a legendary writer and if you could stay and write some more, it would be one of the greatest things that happened to this Uncyclopedia in the past few months.
