edit Welcome!

Hello, Lars863, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... yeah. Anyway, here are a few good links for people like you:

If you read anything at all, make it the above three links. If you want to find out more about Uncyclopedia or need more help with something, try these:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Button sig.png) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Lars863/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider contributing to Uncyclopedia's current colonization of the week, a group writing project to improve a single popular article. Anyone is welcome to contribute, so come help out!

If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome!

On behalf of everyone here at the Australian Uncyclopedia, don't do drugs. --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 20:46, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I see your guidelines are almost completely the same as ours. As I've said on my userpage, I'll mainly do interwiki links. (Well, that'll be hard right now, because our server seems to be offline!) But I do see your article about Purmerend, which was the reason I wrote one in Dutch, needs some work. Write on! -- Lars863 05:31, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, we usually don't allow towncruft like that on here, but it must have slipped through the cracks. You can put it on VFD if you want. Or rewrite it. The possibilities are endless! --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 19:30, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

edit Hea dude

Thanks for helping out at QVFD. Could you read UN:DP and check the instructions on the QVFD page please. We don't add {{QVFD}} to the article. It does not do anything really (other than maybe upset someone). Just stick it on QVFD and leave it at that. Cheers. MrN Icons-flag-gb.png HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png 17:46, Mar 31

edit The Foreign Office (UPDATE)

Hi Lars, just to inform you of the latest from The Foreign Office. All has gone well so far, lots of people are interested (only the Czechs and Thai aren't interested so far) and many contributions have already been made. The next step is to ensure interest in each community. That is done through whoring casual mentioning of The Foreign Office on your website, perhaps a link or something, just to make sure that people are aware of the project.

Furthermore, Fire Wolf has a great idea so that we can all get to know each other and discuss our ideas and plans for the project and perhaps come up with some rules or definitions of how it will work best. He suggests an IRC chat at some point between all the ambassadors and interested parties. Tell me if you're interested, or if you have any alternative ideas :) --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 20:28, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi Lars, the latest news is that we are still unresolved regarding how best to communicate. I have set up The Assembly as a place for us, the ambassadors, to discuss stuff - including how best to discuss stuff. There is a list there that we need to populate with all the ambassadors' preferences. --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 23:01, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

edit Foreign Office (Update)

Hi Lars, just to keep you up to date with what is happening with the Foreign Office. So far it has been a success; all sites with over 1,000 articles (with the exception of Sweden, Israel, Finland, the Czech Republic and Greece) have signed on to the project, and we have so far translated 4 articles.

  • To see a full list of countrys+ambassadors at present go here.
  • To see the list of articles completed since the Foreign Office started go here.

You will also notice that on the main page, in addition to the "Translation Suggestions" and "Translated Articles" there are now 2 discussion pages for each language, one for articles being translated from that language and one for articles being translated to that language, don't underestimate how useful these can be as a hub for translation in your language (and for people who want help translating from your language). Feel free to customise (add pictures/change formatting) of your sections of the main page and your discussion pages, they are your embassies within the Foreign Office hub.

The next stage is organising a chat for all the ambassadors, so it would be very helpful if (assuming you haven't already) you can go to The Assembly and down to where it says "Poll", then suggest/comment on what you think is best for a means of communication.

After this, when we have everyone's opinions in, we can consider organising a chat in which we can clarify and develop a few ideas and maybe discuss some collaborative projects and such.

Thanks, Siddhartha Wolf --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 19:24, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

edit Kickass my friend...

...I shall do so immediately! Occitan ftw! I didn't go to any of the 1-100 article uncycs yet because I assumed that - since noone from 100-1,000 had replied - noone would reply. But Occitan is a cool language (although I actually thought it were dead now). I'll track 'em down for you my liege :) --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 11:39, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Also, what is the Keng? --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 11:41, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Nevermind, I found what Keng is. I also found there is a new Scots Uncyclopedia, which I believe is just a joke since all of the written stuff just appears to be English with a Scottish accent (whereas I'm pretty sure Scots has its own vocabulary and everything). As such I have created a page (Lao Tzu). --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 12:02, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Never mind, I was talking about something completely different from the Foreign Office Idea. I was wondering if you knew anyone who speaks Luxembourgian and Occitan because those wikis are dead! | Write on! Lars - Nederland en Vlaanderen - De Staten-Generaal | 12:41, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
It's probably worthwhile their existing just in case some Occitan/Luxembourger comes along at some point and decides to recommence, but no, I don't actually know of any myself. On the other hand, there were a couple of Uncyclopedias (notably Madagascar and Asturia, I think) that looked quite promising. So I left them messages. --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 12:51, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

edit Yes please Lars

Except I noticed that the original article was once featured. Strange, I didn't consider it all that good. This might cause problems and I don't have adequate authority to give it the all-clear. You might want to do it as a disambiguation. Alternatively, you can add it as a different page (maybe "Romania (Alternative take)" or something) and link to it as a translated article so that other uncyclopedias can still translate it (since in my opinion it is still much better than the pre-existing one).

Also where in Holland do you live? --El Sid, the lazy oneparlez-vous franglais? 23:02, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

Also, apologies for my inactivity recently... been trying to work out what to do with my actual life of recent and been working on this Euro-trip. Ok. I don't know how big preview you wanted, and remember I am not English native speaker, so some mistakes can occur :P

Own Goal

Quotes are just curses in different languages, signed as reaction of specific language user for scoring own goal, e.g. When Polish footballer scores own goal, he says Ja pierdolę or Kurwa... (What is Polish for Fuck and Bitch respectively.

Then one short sentence what own goal is. Own goal = expression of no talent, no luck or idiocy in team sports.

Then is section about How to score own goal, describing it in two ways. One = nice-looking own goal, or sold-match own goal. And note that in australian football it was possible to score inteded own goals.

Then is list of things you can do after scoring own goal. And for example we have there:

  1. Curse and spit.
  2. Run into goal and kick ball again in anger
  3. Get cursed by goalkeeper
  4. Ask goalkeeper, God coach for forgive...
  5. Stay in place and laugh like idiot asking How the hell it went in
  6. Etc.

Then there is a section about kinds of own goals including (each with funny additional notes):

  • Accidental
  • Totally idiotic
  • I will get the ball out of goal!!!
  • Bloopers
  • Jump forward (I thought the goal is further)
  • I sold the match

Then we have list of most famous own goal scorers (some from Poland of course, that can not be well-known in other countries), but we have them listed with notes what happened or what REALLY happened ;) List is ended with Anders Escobar killed after scoring own goal to confuse reader. On right of article there are many films including own goals (best, just compilations, etc., availble from YouTube.) On list of famous own goal scorers in some cases its not needed to give additional infos other that what they did... Well.. Its enough funny for football supporter to read that Janusz Jojko threw ball to his own net without being attacked, just because he sold first-division match for 200 $ (1000 zlotys). And we have play of words, because samobój in Polish = own goal, and samobójca is not an own goal scorer, but simply suicider :P

Of course preview is just preview... But I did my best in it, if you need translation to English (full translation) i can ask my friend to do it, cause English Uncy also wants this article :) Answer please on Polish Nonsensopedia here if you can, thank you, greetings Ptok-Bentoniczny 20:08, October 6, 2009 (UTC)

Well, only English wikia seems independent to me. I have account in all other Uncyclopedias that allow _ in nicks. Here I couldn't use it so i had to create another account, but on any other wikia I enter (except wikipedia itself), it shows as I have account there, and I also get French boxes when I get info on other wikia with my but not made by me there account ;). Good luck with translating then. Ptok-Bentoniczny 07:51, October 7, 2009 (UTC)

edit Articles

I just wrote: Pier Gerlofs Donia and Frisians, because I read on the English wikipedia about Donia and I thought he was absolutely awesome. I asked around for some users to help me. And I was told to ask you for help, since you're Dutch. Do you know anything about the Grutte Pier and the "Friezen" an could you make the articles funnier? Thanks in advance, Seven&ThreeMidgets 15:19, November 3, 2009 (UTC)

Well, I know that the Frisians have a different language, that is in fact the oldest of the West-German languages, thus outdating both Dutch and English. I also know Grutte Pier is kind of the national hero of Friesland (literally, since Friesland is a nation.) Now that I look at the article about him, he was in fact a kind of pre-William the Silent anti-Hispanian freedom fighter and a thief. Also, he made the saying Bûter, brea en griene tsiis, wa't dat net sizze kin, is gjin oprjochte Frysk (Butter, bread and green cheese, whoever can not say that, is not a true Frisian). I'd say you can use all these elements. Probably, it'll be hard to read for a non-Dutch person, but oh well, some articles just suffer from such malfunctions. | Write on! edit Kohl

First of all, we're 97% brazilian. ^^

Well, Kohl joined DP in 2006, 1 year after it's creation, and soon got the bureaucrat power, as in that time there weren't many rules established.

Since then, he wanted the site's growth, and always hunted it's own ideas. Slade is just an ordinary member @ DP. Slade is an ex-sysop from Wikipedia, and by 2007 he wanted that DP had many of Wikipedia's rules, like organization and standards. Kohl was against that. This is why they dislike each other.

Over time, Kohl wanted to keep on his bureaucrat's duty. Moreover, he wanted to protect what he had done since the start. That means this: if someone had an idea which were against his own, he would consider as an enemy, if he was neutral with, otherwise brainstorm.

Kohl is good in the art of brainstorming. I, a Computer Engineering student, in my first weeks was almost his minion. So I voted in his friend (now my friend too, but in that time I hadn't known him), because that was important to the DP's future, and to avoid a coup. As he did his brainstorming whenever I was online (that is, 15 mins per day, at work, to solve my job's issues - therefore I couldn't be at that moment), plus the fact I had personal problems, I finally had voted, as a maneuver for him to stfu.

After that, this event happened many times later. The next time was in the sysop voting of Tiago Angelelli, a user with enough experience and edits to be a sysop, but which Kohl called an amateur, as he hadn't the enough experience to be a sysop. This is why Angelelli had ideas against Kohl's. The same happened with other old users, with dozens of thousands of edits, whom Kohl allegedly accusated of planning to destroy Desciclopédia.

Kohl always added the DP's newbies on his IM, and for his personal purposes. Nowadays, approx. 5 of these users, now with more than 10k edits, said that they had the same experiences shared by me - Kohl added on his IM, tried to be politely, and always called them for his own purposes (votings). And said that everyone who didn't shared his ideas were "evil".

He's very good in brainstorming, due to his personal knowledge over years at Cuba, as a partisan, and here on Brazil, as a recruit, among other things which aren't important to say here (personal life is his own life).

Kohl also said things to the people, like a thumbs-up, and later he said bad things about them to other people. Like saying that he approves the sysop of someone, and then saying to the people to vote against, if they don't want a Dictate to be established.

What happened now, was just a mix of facts: Kohl didn't considered we, 2008 users, as friends, but just tools to be invoked when he needed. This isn't a Slade's thing: Slade is nobody inside DP, and I don't have friendly contacts with him. Slade isn't popular @ DP, fyi. The hatred around Slade @ UnMeta is due to his idea of "if you don't use, you don't need it". In this case, take out the powers of people which doesn't enter since 2007, and have 50 edits and around. This is his idea, and his oppinion, I have nothing related with that. Kohl met this condition in both UnCommons and UnMeta, which raised in Kohl's mind the idea of "coup organizer". As said earlier, this is their own problem.

(continuing) Kohl wanted to keep on the power, and to keep out who he considered as enemies from sight. That meant to say wrong facts to the people with power to vote, but hadn't enough experience in the site and/or on the live (think about Kohl saying to a 13-year old girl that, if she doesn't vote in favour of something, she would aid on the destroying of DP. This really happened.). However, he was shooting this to almost every new member with enough experience, which were in our chat-channels. Eventually, one or other member started to say that Kohl was saying this kind of thing, and doing the correct thing - asking to the accusated people if the facts told were true. Then, more and more people started to argue that Kohl was saying exactly the same things to them, to call for votes, etc. As there was a sysop poll, with the user Chernobyl, which had many things not solved (like sock puppets with proxies), we created a rule against this: ask for votes, you lost your powers. Offend an user: ban.

Slade received permaban in september/2007 for calling Kohl's gf as "amateur". One year later, it was retired due to a petition. Kohl were banned infinetly for calling many people as idiots/traitors/betrayers and other things. It was retired for now, so he can respond. This is why he was banned: offensive language, which was voted and agreed by the entire community - including him.

As a last note, about the Kohl's message at UnMeta... UltraJohnny and Slade aren't related. Just because they're from the same country and agree on the same subject (which was voted twice, so they voted twice), they aren't conspirers, if they don't talk each other (as in friends). Kohl is saying that I had created a movement to make Chernobyl a sysop, which is impossible, as in that time I hadn't many contacts, neither had the balls to do that thing (I was a newbie, newbies just have fear to participate on such things. I agreed on the vote, but both facts aren't related). Kohl even said that I organized to make Chernobyl a sysop, and that I coherced a bureaucrat (him) to take part on that! He also stated that he hadn't coherced me on other user's de-sysop, and later talked about other subjects (on the de-sysop). In that time, the user in question argued about the fact that no one talked contacted him, and two minutes later, said that he was tired about the many people asking here when he would come back, via email/IM. Kohl asked that it would be unfair if I agreed on the user's de-sysop.

Sorry if I forgot some topic or another, I just arrived in my home and I'm hungry, after a full-day of work ^^

FireWolf could have better told the people involved, like the admins at UnMeta. Lars has nothing to do with it, but interferes in things before he knows whats going on. That's why he has been asked to stay out of it, so as not to confuse things more already. The confusion, due to the coinciding of the Slade-action and the withdrawal of Kohl would not have lasted so long if the above text would have been posted there. 80.127.53.170 22:38, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

edit I don't know how things are run in Oncyclopedia

But around here when users are banned, they are not allowed to edit, period. There at least two ways in which they commute their ban which are a.discussing it over IRC with a present admin and b.send an email to the banning admin. Cartoonwotsit chose to ignore all acceptable options and continue, in an arrogant and inflammatory manner, posting constantly. By that he made his status and attitude towards him much more hostile than it was originally. And this is why his edits were reverted and will continue to be reverted. He was told numerous times he needs to discuss this with thumper without breaking the ban. He continued to act like an ass and this is why we stopped listening. I hope this is now clear. ~Jewriken.GIF 20:46, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

The ban was ridiculous in the first place. You (plural) swore at him etc. and for one Dutch comment Henning is banned. Rather biased. Also, when I kindly asked Dr. Skullthumper to unban him, instead of waiting for him to answer, you (singular) started an argument about D. G. Neree and Manticore, threatening to ban me and calling me jongetje... By the way, Henning and I have started a campaign to convert wikis back from Wikia to .org. And we do recognise the Stupidedia. Bet that hurts. Write on! Lars - Nederland en Vlaanderen - De Staten-Generaal | 09:38, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
I think the main issue started because Mr. Henning came marching in behaving as though someone here owes him something. When you want to talk to a community, you want to talk - not give speeches and expect to be heard. Granted, some of the people were acting a bit brash, we have some internal issues at the moment we're dealing with. But otherwise, he was asked by Thumper to cease and desist and when an admin is asking you to back away from a discussion, you do so or you're being banned. The road to unbanning was very simple - contact the banning admin or any other admin in a manner that doesn't break the ban, and that's clearly stated in the ban message. He chose to break the ban in an increasingly annoying manner, which turned everyone, including the more supportive of his unbanning, against him. With regards to the discussion - I think you need to read the discussion again. You started the whole discussion over Manticore/DGneree and I've stated that it's about time you get over this whole issue that Oncyclopedia editors keep bringing up in every single discussion. As for me threatening to ban you, well, I'm a `Crat on this wiki and if I see a discussion that I feel my input is required, I will join in and I don't need you to tell me how to do my work. As for the whole campaign, good luck with that. I'm sure all 6 people editing the 63 pages on meta will sign on this petition. I don't recall us asking you to manage the interwiki relations for us.

Now, shall we keep trying to piss of each other or shall we declare a truce and go for a batch of poffertjes to celebrate the occasion? ~Jewriken.GIF 12:40, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

Don't you think it's cheap to piss on UnMeta and then act as if you're the peacekeeper, basically forcing me to back off? Besides, the petition wasn't only on UnMeta, as you should know. What do you think of these 21 people and these 55 people? Also, we think it's odd not recognising an Uncyc with almost 4 times as many articles as the Wikia version. Are the Germans afraid for Austrian competition? Finally, the only reason I recalled the Manticore Issue was to say that it was not a reason to ban Henning, while, from the summary given by Thumper, you could conclude it was the reason. That's some biased judgement for "the central wiki". Which Uncyclopedia is not. Desciclopédia and UnMeta are. And why are you on this site if, appearantly, you speak Dutch? After all, you would otherwise have had no reason to call me jongetje...
And now we declare a truce. | Write on! Lars - Nederland en Vlaanderen - De Staten-Generaal | 07:28, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
The only reason I was "pissing" on UnMeta is because of the whole "we decided, bet that's hurt" pearl. The whole thing with Stupidpedia - I think it's common curtsy to ask a site which is already on the Uncyclopedia network before you add another one that uses the same language. As for their reasoning, you're welcome to ask them. And the reason I edit the English Uncyclopedia is because I think it's the most culturally diverse one and thereby the most interesting one (other than the fact that my Dutch is not good enough to write articles).
Now, shall we declare a beer break? Seriously Lars, I don't have a grudge against Oncyclopedia or its editors in general nor do I have anything against Meta. It just seems that every time someone from Oncyclopedia comes here they act as though someone owes them someone and then they break all the rules of this site when they don't get what they want. If we can have a good discussion for once with all parties involved and get to some sort of an agreement, we can restore our good relations. ~Jewriken.GIF 11:13, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

edit Come back.

I reviewed Roemenie here. Or whatever it was. Could be a better review (I plead tiredness and general incompetence), but it might be enough help you make the article amazingish, which would be good and stuff since it so clearly has potential. Which shouldn't go unwasted. So mean admins or whatever aside (or whatever was happening there), you should come back and stuff. Yeah. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20100915 - 05:32 (UTC)

Okay man, I was away for a while, but I'll try to restart my work. Write on! Lars - Nederland en Vlaanderen - De Staten-Generaal | 15:22, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

edit Traslating

Hi man, i'm an user from Nonciclopedia, from Italy. Yes, we know: Italiani pizza pasta Berlusconi...very funny. So, i took some pieces of iPod Touch's page for traslating it and putting in the page of iPod touch. I found that shit very funny. Oh, yes. Now, i'm going to write in the talk of the page that some parts are took from uncy, if you agree with that.

Considering that maybe i'll do some works like that for other articles (an adapting, you know), what should i do next time? --Casalps 16:10, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Well, I didn't really ask for an iPod article, and I don't think we'll be using it unless it's epically funny, but perhaps we could use one of your articles. Would you, by chance, have a nice article on Somalia? Write on! Lars - Nederland en Vlaanderen - De Staten-Generaal | 15:25, December 10, 2011 (UTC)
