Good QVFD'ing!

Thanks for unintentionally learning me the QVFD --Suresh 19:53, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)

I'm enjoying the targets you're throwing onto the QVFD page. I don't know how you're finding them, but keep 'em coming.

Pull! *kablooie!*

I concur. Here, take this:--Sir Flammable KUN 18:36, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Thank you!

Merely taking your suggestion, and scanning the Special:Newpages.--King In Yellow 16:10, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)

  • The only thing I'd suggest is that some of the articles may be enough for VFD. Garrison Keillor, for example -- he's a actual notable person and his singing on the radio really does make birds fall out of the air. Another thing you might do is use Splaka's excellent invention: the No Redeeming Value tag. Add {{NRV|~~~~~}} to the bottom of a page and it'll show up in Category:Worthless Articles with a number attached. After a week (two at the most) goes by, I or one of the other admins will send the article to Soul Society (obscure anime reference, don't worry about it). -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? [rox!|sux!] Prince%21.gif 17:07, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)
    • A good point. I'll remember that. As far as Garrison Keillor goes, I think that someone with such a long carreer of Vaudvillean dreck deserves much better treatment/mangling than this short blurb provides. Perhaps the Rewrite Template was what I was really aiming for. Ah well, thanks for the input!--King In Yellow 17:40, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Slow Down Daddy!

Your amazing eye for crap is the talk of #Uncyclopedia! However, it looks like you may be getting a bit too trigger-happy. It has been suggested that you may want to slow down just a bit. One suggestion, from Sir Splaka: "Please put pages that are not obviously total crap on the vfd instead, not just ones you find boring."

For what it's worth, I had the same problem when I first washed up on the shores of Uncyclopedia. So much crap! Must post it all on QVFD! I went a bit overboard, too, and posted stuff up there that was clearly "not funny" to me, but probably should have been given a fighting chance. But those bastards punished me good, in the end. They made me an admin. Oh, the agony! Don't let it happen to you! -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? [rox!|sux!] Prince%21.gif 23:39, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Other thoughts: Don't QVFD any page prefixed with a language code like It: unless it is obviously vandalism, as those are the foreign language content areas. Also, you don't need to use the qvfd template really. It is redundant. --Splaka 23:43, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)
  • Thanks gents! It's true; the crap is titanic. So many primates with keyboards! Agh! Maybe I do need to lie down.--King In Yellow 23:45, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Holy crap.

Your vandal-detection skills are teh l337. I bow before you. I'm especially glad you caught the bastard who came back from a previous ban by me and started page-blanking all over again. -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? [rox!|sux!] Prince%21.gif 19:36, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)

    • Not at all! I'm merely extremely bored and trolling through the Recent Changes every five seconds! Well, maybe not that fast... but work's slow.--King In Yellow 19:39, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)

King - I know you didn't make the semi-animated Labyrinth .gif on your user page, but as sure as Chilly Down is one of the best songs ever conceived, I completely enjoyed the reference to everyone's favorite not-quite Dark Crystal but not-far from Neverending Story. Pasture of Muppets

Hey, King - you were referred to as my "puppet" on VFD by User:Jack Cain. You've got a sharp tongue - I'll let you fight that battle if you wish. I think I stepped on Mr. Cain's toes with my crusade against crap...

In any case, I value your vigilance against crap as well, and maybe if you had the time you could explain how one QVFDs. All I can do is VFD and NRV - I mean, QVFD is your thing, but I'd still like to know how. Keep 'er easy, — WILD WEASEL 18:07, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Ha! I've been accused of alot, but not that! I'll post my reply here, as well as on your talk page (in case we're not watching both!) QVFD is actually easier than VFD. All one has to do is head to da QVFD page, find the appropriate date, and then insert the offensive dreck-article's name under said date (with proper wikilinking, of course.)) Then it's just wait until Flammable, Gwax, Codeine or another hunter-killer takes care of the problem for ya.
I'm a great admirer of your burninations as well, and often look to your votes on VFD before casting my own, as you seem to have a similar taste in humor to my own. --King In Yellow 18:21, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for...

  1. Continued vigilance on Ban Patrol.
  2. Diligence on article cleanup (and corecting my speling and tyops... obviously my OCD fails me there).
  3. Voting for Richard M. Stallman.

I noticed that your name was recently removed from VFS. For the record, I'm appreciative of the work you do around here to keep the crap at bay. However, because there's already a long line to get in, I made a conscious decision to not vote. I feared if I started the voting ball rolling, everyone else might chime in, and we'd have a situation like we had with Volte. I still think you'd make a great addition to the admin team once we're in need.... that is, if you're interested. I've noticed that your sig is award-free, and you didn't respond to your VFS nomination. :) --T. (talk) 14:15, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Your're more than welcome! I'm always happy to lend a hand. With regard to my VFS, I never knew I was mentioned! My signature has stayed simple for two reasons: 1.) I'm a simple guy, really, and 2.) I'm still having trouble with wikiformatting (which is also the reason why I haven't created any new articles, merely added to existing ones, and always with text.) I'm honored to have been considered for sysop-ship (izzataword?) and I hope I didn't snub anyone by not responding (I'm also IRC illiterate -- really I'm just a working stiff with too much free time on his hands, a rudimentary grasp of wiki, and a useless Master's in English!) I'm not sure what the "Volte Incident" is/was, so I'm afraid that reference was lost on me, but it must have been sticky, to make an inference. All told, I sort of enjoy being a watchdog for shite around here (even though I can't BANz0rZ! the blighters myself,) and it's nice to know that my hypercritical fanatacism is actually helping for a change. (Oh, and I apologize about the spell-checking -- my inner editor will not be silenced! Oh, and Richard M. Stallman was great!) --King In Yellow 14:27, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Actually

In light of the discussion we've just had on my talk page, I've just realised that you're a prime candidate for the Supergrass award. So here it is. Place it wherever you like to keep such things, by all means. Congratulations, and keep snitching! -- Sir Codeine K·H·P·B·M·N·C·U·Bu. · (Harangue) 17:43, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Woohoo! I like templates; Thanks! Now I just gotta figure out how to display them in my sig... >:/ --King In Yellow 17:50, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Ah ha! Well, that's pretty easy:

  • 1. Create a subpage for your signature such as User:King In Yellow/sig. If you need an example to work from, check out my one.
  • 2. Add the appropriate award abbreviations (a complete list with details of how to add them can be found here)
  • 3. Go to your preferences page, and in the "nickname" box add {{User:King In Yellow/sig}}. Tick the "Raw signatures (without automatic link)" box, and you're done!

If you need any more info, drop me a line. Best of luck. -- Sir Codeine K·H·P·B·M·N·C·U·Bu. · (Harangue) 17:58, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

AwwriiiighTT! Thanks for explaining that to my unspeakably n00bish self! You deserved that vote, alright! (Now I'm off to try it!) --King In Yellow 18:01, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
Sorry for butting in. I made it already. But go ahead and tweak it to your liking. --T. (talk) 18:06, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Wow, that was quick! Thanks! (Despite my teeth, I'm such an inept wanker!) Hehehe, fine-t00ning... --King In Yellow 18:09, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

My eyes! What did you do to my eyes!

King - hey, neat new sig. That yellow is yellow, man, like looking at the sun. Youch! — WILD WEASEL 13:07, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Drat! Now I will have to find a halogen spotlight to achieve the effect previously produced by your signature! — WILD WEASEL 12:48, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

NRVingness and... such

Heh. Well i have this problem where the admin beat me until the only thing i knew how to do was NRV. But yeah, your right alot of that stuff is QVFD-able, usually im just in a hurry and anything that's sub-par i smack a template on. Maybe I'll start QVFDing and such, there was a period of a bout a week where i did. I think I might become a little more active in Ban Patrol too, because just today i saw 2 people that deserved reporting. Well, until next time. QVFD Confusion

King, hey - since I regard you as the master of QVFD (as I expect you regard me as the master of aspiring hack writers...or not), I pose this query to you: today, I put two articles up for QVFD (Dutch wife and some other vanity crap) and they're still blue linked in a sea of red links, i.e., they have been ignored as QVFD material, or flat-out kept. I can't see either one lasting a day on VFD, so, is there any reason for this? I would ask you check QVFD for the two I speak of (the other is The Chrona-something War or whatnot), and let me know if I'm QVFD'ing where QFVD'ing should not be done. Oh, and check out my Westboro Baptist Church, both here and on wikipedia (for the "facts") - it actually got nominated for feature article! Ah, the hack's work is never done. Cheers, — WILD WEASEL 22:33, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

You're right to be throwing those things on QVFD... they're shite. However, they may have been deleted by an admin and recreated by whatever moron spawned them. This happens alot, and is one of the reasons why they still show up as viable links. I hate that, too. I'll go behind you and repost them, just to make sure. Oh and nice job on Westboro Baptist Church! I was all giggles from the opening pic on. --The King In Yellow (Talk to the Dalek.) 14:11, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
Wild Grizzly is lame, but I like him that way. I feel like an irascable bear rooting around destroying stuff, so I went for the bear alter ego to reflect that. Plus, its an excuse to roar/growl in anguish at the general quality of VFD articles.
And, on the matter of QVFD/NRV, should you not NRV something if you QFVD it? I NRV things I don't consider QVFD worthy, but I guess I just NRV everything as a failsafe device. Please advise. I mean, ARRRGHHRARRR — Bear 2ND LT. Sir David, Grizzly of Wild KUN VFH FP (Oh my God! Grizzly Bear! Nooooo!) 14:25, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
What I usually do is just QVFD it... I save the NRV tag for things that might show some prospects for redemption. But I don't use both on the same article, as I think it sends mixed messages about my intent. :) --The King In Yellow (Talk to the Dalek.) 14:27, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
Thaks, King, that totally cleared everything up. To BATTLE! — WILD WEASEL 15:35, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
