Talk Page Archive #6
Kick it old-school with Hinoa's Talk Page Archives! This archive dates back to 7 September 2006, and continues all the way up until 5 October 2006. Vandalism strictly prohibited here (duh). If you want to vandalize something, get a can of spray paint and tag some bathroom stall. Violators will be shot on sight. I have a banstick and I know how to use it. This page is only here because I am a packrat and can't bear to part with my old stuff. Anything here isn't current. If you have to leave me a message, do so at User talk:Hinoa. That's the page I pay attention to. You can return to my archive index by clicking here.

Semi-protected?

I've been a member longer than 3 days and people are still editing that page while I can't. What gives?--Plissken 04:48, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Why no love for NRV

NRVs are great, but they seem so.... Fatal. I prefer a gentler approach, the tard template takes these stupid articles by the hand and finds them a nice job in the fast food industry, everybody wins. --Darkfred 00:43, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

See your talk page for a chewing-out regarding that. —Sir Major Hinoa [TALK] [KUN] 00:45, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
The point is amusement. Its definately not a maintenance template. --Darkfred 00:46, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Then why does it link to Category:Articles to be expanded? —Sir Major Hinoa [TALK] [KUN] 00:47, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Sorry if it does, it was unintentional I copied the template source. I was actually using it to tag writing that is so bad it is funny again. --Darkfred 00:49, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for changing the category, i hadn't even seen it there. Perhaps it would be better to have no category, famine huffed it as soon as it was made so, i have been using whatlinkshere anyway. --Darkfred 00:56, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Could you restore my template to userspace, I still wanna use it on my page. Thanks, --Darkfred 01:11, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Damn. I must have crushed enough souls today that I have an ounce of niceness left in me. Restored to your userspace so you can keep it on your userpage. Try not to spam templates please. I get mad and ban people for it. Hinoa4 is nice about it. As you've noticed, he's the good cop. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 01:29, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Gay Fusion

whats wrong with the gay fusion article? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Amplexity (talk • contribs)

First of all, sign your edits on talk pages. Second of all, it's just not really that funny. The first thing I would do if I were you is move the page (currently here) to the name Gay fusion because quotes in article names have a tendency to annoy admins. From there, HTBFANJS is your friend. —Sir Major Hinoa [TALK] [KUN] 00:09, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

You can't tell me what to do, and I told you I have a lot more computers at my disposal. I'm in a class full of them so ha. Vanityshite Hearing #982,904

I am currently working on my article on William Tennent Highschool, so, give it some time, and it shall work. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Scott Piazza (talk • contribs)

Keep in mind that that template I branded your article with does in fact give you time--a whole weeks' worth, in fact. Also keep in mind that we have certain policies regulating the existance of articles like William Tennent High School that must be followed. Also also keep in mind that if and only if the article does not follow the vanity policies in one weeks' time will it be nuked. And finally, keep in mind that other admins may just delete it outright. Consider yourself warned four times over. —Correspondent Hin Arash, PRAA Icons-flag-us [TALK] [KUN] (00:47, 24 September 2006 (UTC))

Well the problem is I am trying to figure out what exactly is in violation of Uncyclopedia's vanity policies in regards to the article. I just combed through as many red links as possible, and I am currently working on the overall template of the article, but other than that, it seems fine to me. Should it not seem fine to anyone, I'd appreciate a few words (three is good) of feedback, so I can fix it to the best of my ability. And yes, I am adding the unsigned code to the end of this because I am far too lazy to use the regular signing code when I can simply copy and paste a different one. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Scott Piazza (talk • contribs)

I added a vanity tag to the article, as per the regulations on community vanity articles (as I think my page can be considered). I hope that that is acceptable. Scott Piazza 01:25, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

1 hour ban

Hi Hinoa, I would like to know what exactly I did to deserve the ban, so I do not repeat the mistake. I took a look at the page you suggested to me, and I believe that I have used NRVs correctly, tildes and all, I think I properly used the qVFDs, by posting it there, and not using the template. And I dont often use VFDs but I believe that I have used them properly. (And if I have not, you could have just told me)

For the most part I have tried to be a force for good and not evil on uncyclopedia, and I would just like to avoid bans. Not to offend, but perhaps a warning might have helped? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Shadowlost (talk • contribs)

Well, I appreciate your efforts, but you attached a VFD tag to an already NRV'd article. NRV is meant to get rid of an article within seven days, and VFD is meant to be a long, bureaucratic process. In short, VFD is not meant to speed up the NRV process. Also, when using the {{VFD}} template, be sure to add the page to UN:VFD. It won't do it itself. —Correspondent Hin Arash, PRAA Icons-flag-us [TALK] [KUN] (19:45, 27 September 2006 (UTC))
Okay that is fair enough... fair enough... But that could have just been put in my discussion page. I had only done it a maximum of two times. I have seen people drop a whole pile of stuff into uncyclopedia, all of it crap, to get only a 1 hour ban. I'm just saying a warning might have been better, or perhaps a 15 minute ban. Just the punishment should fit the crime. Shadowlost 21:53, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
I totally agree. An hour ban is completely unreasonable. Next time, Hinoa, do as I would have done and ban the user for at least a week. If they can't read, show them the door. The only true love is hard love. If it doesn't hurt them to sit down, you haven't appropriately punished them for fucking up. --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 01:10, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Curiouser and curiouser... I tried using one of my sigs in there, and got the same results you did. Then I tried just putting my name in, and it worked fine. Perhaps the trouble is that you can't insert a template into another template? That doesn't make sense to me, but as a workaround, you could SUBST: your sig in (ie. {{Subst:User:Modusoperandi/sig}}. then it should work. Maj Major Sir Hinoa (Plead) (KUN) (01:35, 3 October 2006 (UTC))
