edit Tesco

Hello and welcome to Uncyclopedia! I am impressed that you asked for a review of this edit in the Change Summary. It provides useful source material, and I will try to rework it. Uncyclopedia is a place for you to write original comedy, not a directory of funny things that have happened in the real world (especially not, by the way, links to YouTube videos), though it helps greatly if your humor is based on real-world things. Separately, the focus of your submission is current events rather than anything enduring about Tesco. (Let's hope it isn't enduring!) Would you please go to our UnNews division and consider reworking this change as a "news story"? Spıke ¬ 14:13 21-Jan-13

Thanks, will do Heenan73 14:29, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

Good. I'll undo your blanking of the section from Tesco as it is a useful addition there too. You can look at the source to see how to format images (thumbnails) and quotes. For lengthy quotes in UnNewses, there is also {{Cquote}}. Your UnNews needs more material, however; as well as funny customer reactions, you might extrapolate to the future of horse-meat cuisine in England.

As my note to you preceded that of the Official Welcoming Committee (and might preclude it, as they will see you already have a talk page!) I should mention that if you conclude a message by typing ~~~~ (four tildes), it will be replaced by your user name, a link to this page (unnecessary in the case that we are already on it), and a timestamp. Also, please indent your message to set it off from other peoples' messages. Cheers. Spıke ¬ 15:07 21-Jan-13

Done. I will remove the sticker. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 21:52, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

edit UnNews:Tesco sells horse meat in burgers

That is a worthy first UnNews! I post-edited to fix the formatting. It is a little shorter than the usual UnNews; I suggest above that you try to stretch this theme in additional directions. Although {{Original}} works, it is clearly based on actual news, and it would be a plus if you could find an actual story in the press to cite: This gives your reader the option of enjoying your humor better by learning what happened in real life. It will also give a better superficial resemblance to a news story if you would change the anonymous or apocryphal quotes to names of real people (you can use the names from the Source, particularly the name of the Tesco spokesperson). The additional material satisfies another unwritten UnNews rule: end an UnNews with a "zinger," carrying the theme to new levels of absurdity. Cheers! Spıke ¬ 15:35 21-Jan-13

edit Who are You?

Unless you are Leverage with a sock (which isn't possible), that story was his to paste on this website. Not yours. I will wait for his reply but don't do that again until I understand what is going on. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 20:33, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

I don't have the faintest idea what you are talking about, but please don't threaten me or try to bully me again. That was my first article, and I did't expect bullying *quite* so soon. Heenan73 (talk) 21:06, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
Just to be clear to anyone else who is reading this. http://en.uncyclopedia.co/w/index.php?title=UnNews:Tesco_deny_horse-burgers_had_mad_horse_disease. Now I have put a ban sticker on as you have been a very naughty troll. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 21:23, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
Ha..I was beaten to it. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 21:25, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
Romartus, please read this entire talk page (summarized on your talk page) and see how this UnNews developed. I do not think this is plagiarism. Spıke ¬ 21:33 22-Jan-13

Upon reviewing the "stolen" article and the fork's own on the subject from 5 days earlier, it appears to just be two separate articles from the same source, as SPIKE was nice enough to point out. Heenan has a point about jumping down people's throats, Romartus, but there is also something to be said about keeping one's own jets cool and providing contrary empirical evidence when said throat-jumping-down occurs. --Littleboyonly TKFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK Oldmanonly 21:35, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

OK. I can see now. He should be unbanned and this business with the bot got me looking for things that weren't there. So I apologise to Heenan73 and suggest bring him and his article back to life. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 21:44, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
