Welcome to Uncyclopedia! Make yourself comfortable. Want a Coke to go with these peanuts?

Hello, Gabriel Turner, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for people like you:

If you read anything at all, make it the above three links. If you want to find out more about Uncyclopedia or need more help with something, try these:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Button sig) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Gabriel Turner/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

We also have an impressive amount of rules that you should read, it'll take a couple of days at least. Then, you can reward yourself with our Welcome Party for Noobs!

If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome!  --‎ Snowflake mini Mattsnow 20:52, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

Rick Santorum

The Rick Santorum article is a collaborative work in progress by a group of writers. Don't start reverting them unless you would like a day off from this site. Check the history on the page. Thanks. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 21:04, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I got a teeny bit too carried away there. I did that because I thought the long list was vandalism but I checked now and it isn't. Gabriel Turner (talk) 21:19, April 1, 2012 (UTC)
My great poem, vandalism??? You have nerve! :P Welcome to the site, it's great to see you're enthusiastic. Snowflake mini Mattsnow 21:24, April 1, 2012 (UTC)
If you add something to your user page, your signature will go from what I call 'Red Alert:Potential Vandal on Site' to a nice, soothing blue. You can always change it later. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 18:31, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your advice. I will. Gabriel Turner (talk) 18:48, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

Hey there

I noticed that you were trying to add a page Romartus is a bastard‎‎ to QVFD. What you need to do is actually edit the QVFD page and add the article to the list. Take a look at the instructions on the QVFD page and it tells you how to do it. Have fun. ;) MrN Icons-flag-gb HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png Fork you! 19:15, Apr 5

Oops! Too slow! someone beat you to it! MrN Icons-flag-gb HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png Fork you! 19:24, Apr 5
Why QVFD it? Feature it! Romartus is a bastard, but he's our bastard! Aleister good to meet you 12:05 7-4-'12
It was only a few lines anyway Gabriel Turner (talk) 12:07, April 7, 2012 (UTC)
I know, I'm just trying to be funny at the expense of a guy we all love. Have you seen Romartus' and Zarbag's epic masterpiece (I don't know if anyone has read it all except them), History of Great Britain? We tend to play here, so if something seems serious it's liable to be playful too. You are doing good work, so people get more comfortable with you as a productive person here and will play more. Aleister 12:28
Anyway, on a completely irrelevant subject, where do I go to request rollback? Gabriel Turner (talk) 13:40, April 7, 2012 (UTC)
Any admin will do. MrN sells them, so he's the best dealer here. A guy named Black flamingo has lots of rollback, and often will deal. Never try to get rollback from Socky, his doesn't work like it should and then he denies he knows you. Thanks for the question. Aleister 12:44 Look over there, He is Risen! '12
You're welcome :) P.S. Also, why would an admin ban themselves? Gabriel Turner (talk) 12:47, April 8, 2012 (UTC)
Banning an admin is like pissing into the ocean - has no real effect, but feels good while you're doing it. Banning yourself as an admin is the same, but you leave your pants on.                               Puppy's talk page12:58 08 Apr
Romartus is a bastard. Oh I missed that one, suppose I should have a look at it. Perhaps the vandal confused me with Roman Dog Bird. Our user names only diverge after the fifth letter so that might have confused the contributor. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 10:04, April 9, 2012 (UTC)
Changing topic, why did you create the page User:Gabriel_Turner_(alt) with a redirect? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 10:08, April 9, 2012 (UTC)
It is my alternate account Gabriel Turner (talk) 10:09, April 9, 2012 (UTC)

  • Even after the block is made, you should neither cross out or remove content. (Leave that up to sysops/poopsmiths)
  • With spammers one edit is enough to warrant a ban. Yeah, we don't like spam!

~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) Icons-flag-au 10:49, April 14, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for that :) P.S. Why does it say something about not being allowed to report users with one contrib? Could you please change that? Gabriel Turner (talk) 10:50, April 14, 2012 (UTC)

Would you take a moment and browse UN:HTBFANJS on techniques for writing humor? Some of your stuff comes across as offbeat personal observations on what you have read, and not as intensely funny. This guide to writing comedy might provide inspirations. Happy editing! Spıke ¬ 20:30 11-Mar-13

Hello! I can see two edits by this Anon, on Anthropology, which you have reverted. I agree with your revert; if there is any humor here, it (and the technique of telling the reader of a joke encyclopedia, "No joke!") is too subtle for me to detect it.

Now, as for what to do about him, FFS is mostly out of service, and as you note, it was mostly just joking. You can list Anon on Ban Patrol and let us decide whether he merits a ban. In my opinion, a dense sense of humor does not; only bad faith, flagrant disobedience of instructions, etc., does.

I see no unambiguous evidence that he is a sock for some other banned Uncyclopedian (PS--I do not have the authority to look at the IPs for those Uncyclopedians). Even restoring material from the page history may only indicate that he saw something in the article's past that tickled him. Spıke ¬ 22:15 9-Sep-13

Thanks for that, was just in doubt and decided to ask others first. Also was technically one edit split in to and hence as per the spirit of the rules technically not even worth listing; didn't want to be banned for "abusing" by mistakenly being overzealous reporting. Gabriel Turner (talk) 22:16, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, I can't conclude bad faith even over splitting a two-paragraph edit into two edits. We get this stuff all the time, and we revert and move on. Ban Patrol doesn't work against Anons who are essentially one-shots like this guy. Spıke ¬ 22:28 9-Sep-13

I actually said about the two edit thing technically being one edit and hence technically not reportable. Gabriel Turner (talk) 22:29, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

Mulbarton

A workmanlike effort. Needs photos. But the desire to inform competes with the desire to amuse. I get the feeling from time to time that you wanted to write a travelogue--or certainly a blog on your Local--which might be remedied by a sprinkling of impossible facts. Spıke ¬ 23:08 9-Sep-13
