To Do

I plan on fixing up the articles here. Don't delete them, if you can help it. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 01:54, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Gratuitous bans

Have you read this about 4chan: "For 1 April 2005 (a Friday), the moderators created a fake furry board as an April Fools joke and left it up until April 3rd. Every person who posted to the joke board was then banned from 4chan for an extended period of time. This incident is referred to as April Furs Day." A ban trap, has this been tried here? I thought you were the man to ask. Worth a thought - if you could think of a decent honey-pot, you could ban all the users who... well, ban all the users. FreeMorpheme 20:26, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Indeed, there are numerous honeypots. One of my favorites is Uncyclopedia:Complaints Department. There are others, but I'd have to infini-ban you if I told you where they were. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 00:26, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Random Instanity/name

It was me who put it on QVFD, sorry. I thought it was just a one liner, until I went to look back at QVFD and saw that you would ban the person who listed it. I'm not a noob anymore, but I still have tendencies I guess. I looked at the page again and it kept changing, hence the Randomness. I'll be more careful. -- Sir Severian Severian1 CUN (Sprich mit mir!) Kraut 16:26, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

More importantly, check "what links here" - that might make its importance a little more clear. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 17:24, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Forgive me father, for I have sinned

Just letting you know that Rc unblocked me. I apologize for not tagging that article, I slipped, as last night I put maintainence tags on an unprecedented amount of crap. Actually, Hinoa promoted me to 2nd LT last night for my work in getting rid of crap last night (See my talk page). Anyway, just letting you know that I'm sorry, and I'll do my best to make sure I don't do that again. Also, good luck on winning UOTM. -- Sir C Icons-flag-us Holla | CUN 23:17, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Wow, that was nice of RC. Now let me dig up the weird ass double-redirect pile of crap you made the other day and determine a ban length for that. It's not that you're on my bad list - I just have lots of ban reasons listed under your name already. Don't worry - you're just replacing some other users who either shaped up or left. Someone's got to fill in the "OMG Famine hates me" hole. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 14:28, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Aaaah...I was you redirecting both How to be a russian and How to be a Russian to HowTo: Be a Russian. Not a double redirect - just somewhat unecessary ones. But since I deleted all the articles in question, I guess I'll have to scratch that off my "Ban Sir Cornbread For..." list. Don't worry - I'll find some other reasons. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 14:35, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, actually when I moved that page, I listed those redirects on QVFD to no avail...I tried though. OMG YOU HATE ME!!! -- Sir C Icons-flag-us Holla | CUN 22:31, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Oh noes plz

Sorry about not tagging that VFD article...and my first offence was due to technical difficulties (AKA Wireless Internet), just letting you know Codeine unblocked me. --Icons-flag-us SonicChao Babbel!Contribs 13:49, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for being so viligant on VFD - but be warned about it. We've already had one admin burnout due to it, and it tends to make whoever is babysitting it pretty grouchy. The smoother it runs, the happier I am. You've made up a pretty good excuse for ban #1, so I'll let that one tag articles so people watching them know to come vote. Nothing as sad as to lose an article and find out three months later that it got deleted and you never knew to vote on it. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 14:28, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Alright I will, *goes to put that article back up the right way* --Icons-flag-us SonicChao Babbel!Contribs 18:33, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Poor Edits

I notice that you RV'd the crappy edits on Jebus. I'd messaged Algorithm and Chronarion earlier, but perhaps you could take a look at a similar set of, in my opinion, poor edits on Original Jesus that were/are by the same user.

Algorithm thinks that the edits clean up a messed up page and Chronarion hasn't replied yet. Al thinks I shouldn't let it bother me (tho' it does) so, as of yet, I've left the edits alone (as it would result just in a revert war, which wouldn't help the page). I find the "His Birth" section is particularly vile, as jokes about pendulous tits and abortion are difficult to make funny (as the text proves).

I would like your opinion, as so far it would appear that I'm alone in despising the recent butchery (although it decrufts somewhat, it recrufts in other area, incidently defunnying wherever it crufts), and as such would simply result in a revert war which, again, doesn't help the page.

Obviously I prefered the page before, although it was unfocused and varied wildly in quality. The unfocussedness meant it had something for everyone (like that Jesus guy) and the wildly varying quality encouraged edits.

Eerily, it appears that the editor just pushed the good stuff out of Original Jesus and pushed the "old" text from Jebus to Original Jesus. Cheesy.

Anyway, I'm on a self-imposed Uncyc-limiting vacation at the moment, so take your time to consider whatever it was that I said. I, meanwhile, will grab a beer and return to the book that's waiting for me on my patio.

Also, as you may have surmised, I like commas. I believe that they, the humble bastion of the pause, are by far the most underrated pi character. Of course I'm biased somewhat, as I type as I speak. If I don't pause every five words or so, my cursed childhood stutter makes an unwelcome appearance. But enough about me...

Carry on.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 06:24, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm trying to care, but the more I try, the more I'm tempted to just delete both articles. In fact, There's a good chance of that happening to at least one of them the longer I look at the two. Because they both suck ass now, and have sucked for quite some time. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 13:07, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Ah. Just make sure to commit the "Bend it Like Bethlehem" part to memory first. I'm sure that'll make it into that book that the guys on Sunday morning TV someday. --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 14:46, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Acually, that's the only thing stopping me from deleting the article. That is priceless. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 15:01, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
You do know that your RV got RV'd, so there's only a mention of it, rather than a para, right?--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 18:20, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

OK, I'm officially not caring any more. Because I may end up deleting half this website. And banning a metric fuckload of users. Including Sir Cornbread, for no apparent reason. Well, after reverting a bunch of pages, protecting them, and then deleting them. Just to be sure that the funny versions were the ones which got deleted. But really - these two pages, I feel, are beyond saving. So here's my offer:

If someone rewrites them, and they are actually of modest length, funny, illustrated, and not filled with stupid shit, I'll protect them with my life. If not, I'll not care.

Case closed. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 19:44, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

I think the reason it got my bp up was the editor was a jerk about it (I've put messages on his userpage requesting sanity. He hasn't replied, instead leaving snarky comments in the comments section of OJ, ala "It looks like all of the blood is going to Dick's head).
As for your comments; Deal. If suitably inspired (doubtful) I'll try my hand at a rewrite. If not, then it'll be time to move on. Aw, fuck it...there are way better articles to write; it's off my watchlist.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 20:09, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Excuse me? Butcher?! I'll have you know I rather object to that label! Personally, I didn't really like the "Bend It Like Bethlehem" section, just like I didn't like the "Chibi Jesus" section; they seemed rather childish.

I'm actually a little pissed that you reverted the "His Birth" section, and completely removed "His Name". The only reason I started hacking away at those parts was because there was an obscure "L.A. Law" reference that irked me. As for the bit about Mary, I slipped that in basically to see if anyone would catch and get it. I mean, really, we're all adults here, aren't we? I had typed the Mary bit out, then actually went to the "Mary" article to see if it compared. Not even close. Hence, the Virgin Rewrite. I'm surprised you found it vile, as this isn't a religious site. It's for jokes, jokes of all kinds; no seriousness allowed.

I'm glad you kept "Jebus" the way it was, as I enjoyed working on it. I spent many a night attempting to fix pictures, sentence tense, and finally adding the "Death" section.

But, really, Famine, could you put the bit about the shepherds, angels, and "MacArthur Park" back in the "Original Jesus" article? I don't think I can replicate it as well as could be.

With all due respect...

Master Betty applauds you! Nyah! Master Pain (also known as Betty) 01:46, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

The Anti-Vandal Tool

Greetings, I see you added the anti-vandal tool to your namespace. Judging by your comment when you added it, I surmise you are not fully aware of what it is. If you do know, ignore my rambling and eat some fudge. :P

When you add the anti-vandal code, new options will appear in your left menu. These are live monitoring tools that monitor the recent changes. "Filter Recent Changes" filters the recent changes for a list of 'bad words' that's listed on a separate page. You can do an easy rollback using this tool. All Recent Changes is self explanatory, along with Recent IP edits. It's not that hard to use and it's extremely popular on Wikipedia (*insert scream*). Hope this helps! - Enzo Aquarius 22:12, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

You forgot to mention the "makes firefox use 98% of my CPU requiring me to kill -9 it" feature. I've been debating trying to code up something like this for awhile, but I am far too lazy to do it. I will steal from other people without hesistation tho. Thanks for the info. --Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 22:25, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Heh, seems to work fine for me, but to each his own. It's not the most perfect code :-P - Enzo Aquarius 22:33, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

You sure went about adding this thing in quite a complicated way. You do only need those 3 lines at the top to make it work... And maybe the link box function for adding your own to the side too. That'd give several hundred less lines of code in the script. Spang talk 19:04, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

I have some grand plan to mess around with it, customize it, and make it do amazing things...if I was a betting man, I'd put 20 pounds on me not ever getting around to it. The problem is that I'm moving back into my "busy as hell" time of year, and will probably never get around to actually hacking on this. Perhaps next june or something...but for now, I might as well trim it down, as I have an easy-to-find copy in the history.

The question is, do functions in my uncyclopedia.js override the ones in recent2.js? If so, then I can just keep the toolbox function. I'd wait for an answer, but I can try it myself in less time, I'd guess. --Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 19:18, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

If they do it'd either give an error or just use the first one. Or both. I'm not sure. Why not just use a different toolbox function? Spang talk 19:27, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Or rename your function and have it run after the original. Both do exactly the same thing, and no conflicts. Easy peasy. Spang talk 19:38, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for supporting me as a potential admin. Coming from you, it's a real treat. Zimbuddha Rev. Zim (Talk) Get saved! 20:13, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

I think I'm sick. I don't remember the last time I supported someone for admin. But I do retain the right to revoke my support if you suddenly decide that admin tasks are more important than what you've been doing around here.
Let me be very clear: For the longest time, I never bothered with UnNews, because it sucked. Now I check in often, because it's been funner than hell for the last few months. I'd hate to see that go downhill, as I feel that it is at least, if not more important than getting general admin duties done a little more quickly. We can always hire another admin to delete expired NRV articles - we can't necessarily get someone to jump into UnNews and do the sort of job you've been doing. That sort of shit takes talent. Ligature articles

Why did you delete all of the ligature articles?!? Was there some sort of vote on it I didn't notice? I thought they were one of the most hilarious series of articles on Uncyclopedia. --LOLMOLE 22:41, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

As I noted at Talk:Ligature, many of the articles barely counted as stubs. A good number were 1-3 lines and a template. They were in no way strong enough to stand on their own. Feel free to recreate them in paragraphs in the main Ligature article, as it's a far more fitting place than on individual pages. There was a vote on VFD regarding the fate of the Ligature series around the end of June. In the two months they have been gone, you are the second person to notice and complain. That will give you an idea of the appeal of the series. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 22:59, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Block query

Hello, I am speaking on kenmcfa's behalf on this ban:

Your user name or IP address has been blocked by The Right Honourable Famine. You were banninated due to the following reasons: If you are offended, self-blinding is the answer, not blanking. You may contact Famine or one (1) of the other administrators to discuss the block. It will give them a good laugh.* Your IP address is If all you have is an IP address, you're not coming back any time

This user has taken no part in blanking and/or vandalism, as somehow someone managed to attain the same IP and use it as a vector for damage. The user asks if you may reinstate his IP as he means no harm, he will take better care of his network options.

Neo Zidane Icons-flag-gb Headbutt extraordinaire 20:32, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

User:kenmcfa must share an IP with the anon individual who blanked a couple of pages. Let me long was that ban? Two weeks? Well, Template:SPL-08 is definitely worth a short ban....say three days? We really try to discourage excessive use of templates, and templates filled with red links are the worst.
So the sentence has been reduced, not commuted. When kenmcfa shows back up, he can remove his crappy template from the articles it's in and submit it to QVFD. By all means, keep a link to the main SPL article in the related articles - it just doesn't need a massive template filled with red links to get people there. A short, useful paragraph is much prefered.
And User:ununbilium - for gods sake fix your sig. It looks like you have the stuff you need at User:ununbilium/sig, but you need to place {{SUBST:nosubst|User:ununbilium/sig}} in your preferences under "nickname" and check the "Raw Signatures" box. Regarding SU182

At this point, it's at your discretion. Special rules say what they will, but there's no mention of "whining." Darth Destruction

The vote for both of these was rewrite. I rewrote them both, I posted in AFD that they had been rewritten and you still huffed them? I would have deleted the votes up to that point, but I did not know it was allowed, perhaps you should have as an administrator? Did you even read the AFDs before you huffed? --Darkfred 04:01, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Err...Famine, you huffed D'arthangnan without any VFD or notice...Now I know it wasn't great but still, I think it deserved to live. So why the huffing without the VFD? -- Brigadier Sir Mordillo Icons-flag-il GUN UotY WotM FP UotM AotM MI3 AnotM VFH +S 19:16, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

I went Darth hunting. We had lots and lots of them. In fact, we even had Template:Darth, which listed more than a dozen Darths. About half the articles in that template got dropped into VFD. Most of them got solid delete votes. Riding the wave of public distaste, I went through and deleted anything Darth related that wasn't haliarous and long.
D'arthangnan got my axe due to a 2 to 1 ratio of red links to blue links, along with references to Chuck Norris, a left testicle, Death By Stinky Cheese, and a tatoo of "I love Darth" on some buttocks. Overall, juvinile randomness at it's worst. Although an article could be written around the phrase "Battle of the bulge (also known as: "the battle of are you happy to see me or is there an armored division in your pocket?")". That was good. Very good.
Darth Cow and Darth Hitler were both rewritten. And they probably should have had their votes blanked and been revoted on. I thought that they hadn't substantially improved. Spang agreed on one of the two. So that's like +10 votes for deletion. If you really want, I'll revive them and repost them on VFD. My bet is that the Darth purge will continue, but if you can stand watching some potentially soul-crushing votes, I'll let them happen. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 15:08, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
You are lying. Neither Darth Cow or Darth Hitler even met the 6 vote limit for deletion. Darth Cow was a tie and Darth Hitler had an overwhelming keep vote 6:3 with only 1 rewrite vote. +10 delete votes? What are you smoking? Since you admit to being on a Darth Hunt" my guess is that you simply didn't care what the VFD was, you didn't bother to count. The stupidest thing is that your hunt only affected mediocre articles. The vast majority of the site remains simply bad and unfunny. On the whole your hunt netted a step backwards in funniness. Yay progress.
In synopsis, You violated uncyclopedia deletion policy, you deleted an article with an overwhelming 6:3 keep vote, and you have sofar mistated the totals 3 times trying to justify yourself. --Darkfred 17:33, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
What? Huh? Darth Hitler had 3 Keep votes, 4 delete votes (including mine via deltion) and 3 "Rewrite" votes. I disregard all "Rewrite" votes everywhere, everytime because nobody (except you) ever rewrites anything. So using my modified counting strategy I count 4 to 3 delete.
And there is a 6 vote limit for deletion? When did the king of VFD make that ruling? I must have missed it. Sorry.
So anyway, now that Rcmurphy was nice enough to restore Darth Hitler to your userspace for continued improvement, what seems to be the major issue? Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 17:54, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
Do me a favour and revive D'arthangnan into my namespace so I can rewrite. I don't think I've ever put a rewrite tag on any article. Either it's good enough to stay, or I kill it. Or I kill it, lots of people bitch about me killing it, and then I restore it to userspace and it sits there and rots till the end of time. Aaah, such is the life of a cold-hearted admin. I am Starting again down here since the ident is crazy.

As for the 6 vote minimum please see this note by Hinoa [1]. Hinoa also reads the comments in VFD boxes and writes the resolution when he has made a decision. Perhaps you should ask for admin mentoring.

The problem now with Darth Hitler is this. The article is fine, with a few edits it could be perfect and even as it is it won the vote. If I put it back up later, some asshole, meaning you, is gonna delete it without any thought. I doubt you even read the article, so what good would doing anything now do? The only way this article or any similar to it will ever live again is if you admit you were wrong. --Darkfred 22:25, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
