Good work! I have grammared it up a bit (who confuses "were" with "where"?!), minced words, and added a couple turns-of-phrases, but you are a knowledgeable author with a story to tell and a good handle on Gallows Humor. There is still inconsistency between "the team is" (American) and "the team are" (British). This article should go British, despite our usual use of American, and that should extend to spelling, which I didn't address.
There is a bit more up-and-down-and-up-and-down than in a whorehouse, and I am confused at how at the end the team flirting with relegation winds up in the Championship. A team being chronically bad is not a unique story, and I hope you can add anecdotes specific to this team — but make them funny for sports fans everywhere.
The article should have a photo at the very beginning, perhaps the team logo. For the other photos, just because you found an 800px photo doesn't mean you have to specify 800px. For most of us, that would fill most of the screen. Happily, you specified <800>px, which doesn't do anything, so the user's preference took over.
Photos ought to come first in a section and ought to have a hard return at the end. Keep at it!14:49 2-Dec-12
PS--A sports announcer with the surname of Windass is a story in itself. I hope I am guessing wrong as to its pronunciation.15:10 2-Dec-12
PPS--I have post-edited you twice, just now; have typed explanations in the edit Summary field, which you can see under History.15:37 2-Dec-12

You're welcome, and here's more help. (Normally, someone is by with an automated Welcome message that spells this out.) When you write to me, type ~~~~ at the end and your signature and timestamp will be substituted for that. And, please indent to set your message off from mine. (Creating a new section did so, equally well, but you will soon be up to Section 99 and unable to find anything!) I won't have a Watch on your pages forever; if you should have more questions, ask at User talk:SPIKE. 15:48 2-Dec-12
