edit Welcome!

Hello, Capebreton, and thanks for joining Uncyclopedia! Before editing further, please take the time to read our Beginner's Guide. If you want to find out more about Uncyclopedia or need more help with something, check out the following pages:

Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Button sig) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Capebreton/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If you need help, feel free to ask me on my talk page, ask at the community forum or in the chatroom, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, our Adopt-a-Noob program can bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian!  ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) Icons-flag-au 07:39, November 9, 2013 (UTC)

I tagged it with {{construction}} in case you are still working on it and I also believe it needs more work. Take a look at HTBFANJS, BGBU & UN:BEST for some more pointers. Enjoy. :) ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) Icons-flag-au 07:39, November 9, 2013 (UTC)

Nowhere near ready for the main encyclopedia! I've moved it to your userspace, where you can work on it at your leisure at the name shown above. The documents Frosty recommends should be educational, but quickly:
  • It should be clear that typing spaces at the start of a paragraph doesn't do what you intended; it turns the entire paragraph into a scrolling example. Take those spaces out! That's not the style of this encyclopedia, and if you would personally like to see the starts of paragraphs indented, you can do it at home by writing CSS.
  • You do need to double-space between paragraphs, but you should never triple-space. This adds vertical separation and your article won't look like the others here.
  • Avoid the first person, and don't write about "our town."
  • Be sure you are writing to tell a funny story, and not to introduce North Sydney to the rest of us; that is, to amuse, not to report.

I hope that helps! Spıke Ѧ 12:51 9-Nov-13
