NRV tag on article

I noticed that you tagged my article (Dr. Sbaitso) as NRV. I have touched it up somewhat (though since I have no creativity, I was hoping the community could help butcher it up a little bit. Please let me know how I'm going with fixing it up. I'm a veteran at Wikipedia, but here I'm still somewhat of a n00b. Thanks --WillMcC 21:05, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok, it has improved greatly since I last saw it (I removed it). In the future if you want it to be kept away from the ICU/NRV you can use {{WIP}}, which produces a template which shows it to be under construction. Just copy {{WIP}} at the top or bottom of the page. --—Braydie 11:35, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Heh, well (admins are lazy) there is a page here that is good for this kinda thing. But, I'm not sure if it has been depreciated. But, it depends on what the idea for the award is. What is the idea? --—Braydie 18:40, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
The Uncyclopedia "No Honour." A random award with no picture to be dealt out to random people for no reason. Our own personal spin-off of the Marvel Comics "No Prize". --JohnQ.Public 18:53, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey Bradie, a few questions

In regards to editing and/or creating new articles how do you:

Put a black line through text you want in the article but shown as a changed mind (i hope you get what i mean)

Put a body of text into a different colour background on the side

Im asking YOU!! this because you were the one to say hello to me so (apart from my mum), technically you are my best friend. And because I'm a stupid noob that should be castrated... I'll keep my fantasies to myself from now on... And last and least just ignore my article about Dario as I wrote it after reading "How to be stupid and not just funny" which I found better than sex with my vaccuum cleaner... and the article is meant for only my ring of "friends?" so Im seeing how long it lasts before my grandma is set on fire. Ya face sux 10:10, 6 January 2007 (UTC)ya face suxYa face sux 10:10, 6 January 2007 (UTC) that is my name on this particular site

Hey, ok, by using the <s></s> tags you can create this. Test test test test test. (I think that's what you mean.) With the body of text I'm not sure what you mean. The best way to get any kind of specific code, is to find what you're looking for on another page, then search for the code for it (by clicking edit at the top, but I think you already knew that). If you do have any more trouble with the codes, feel free to ask me. I hope this is what you're looking for. —Braydie at 12:53, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Against whose rules? See the associated talk page for why I think it's pointless to limit votes or nominations at this stage. Spang talk 08:21, 12 Jan 2007

Either way, thanks for the nomination Spang :D . —Braydie at 14:25, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Congrats! Hope you get it, having an admin as a card-carrying userbox-displaying UnTunes Perp could be handy if problems arise. ;) User:Tooltroll/sig 08:53, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your support tooltroll. —Braydie at 14:25, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Yay Braydie! I would vote but I can't... Not an admin... You Will be though, and that's what matters. User:Kjhf/sig 18:05, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I think there is another round of voting after this one. I think this is an "approval stage". —Braydie at 18:06, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Yep, it's nominations at the moment, and then proper voting. I will do then ;) User:Kjhf/sig 20:34, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Voyeur I

You nominated my article, Voyeur I for deletion as having no redeeming value. I don't know whether you think it's just not funny, or whether you aren't aware of all the references (you have to have some knowledge of the Solar System to understand the attempt at humour).

I checked out "What makes a good article" under NRV. It may not be completely encyclopedic-sounding or have any pictures, but the English is reasonable, and I've improved the formatting and removed some red links. The main question is whether it is at all unique, or has any humour value. I admit it uses sexual humour, which is already overdone on Uncyclopedia, but at least it's a little more subtle and not so crass as so many articles are.

I wanted to write an article about the Voyager I spacecraft. The first paragraph attempts to be mildly satirical, but maybe it's too obvious. The next section is a play on the planets and the gods they were named after, but you have to understand that Jupiter was the main Roman god (same as Zeus), and that Callisto and Io were in fact his lovers (after which the moons were named). I tried to make puns with the physical characteristics of the planets - Io does in fact have volcanic action (metaphor for ejaculation), and the gravitational assist refers to a sexual position, though maybe that's not so clear. Likewise, rotation is a sexual metaphor and mooning is a pun. I also tried to show that the spacecraft had human voyeuristic tendencies despite being in denial of having them, since it's a machine and naturally isn't supposed to feel lust.

Saturn's rings being counted to determine age is a reference to the rings of a tree. Since mythical creatures don't exist, there seems to be a kind of paradox in representing them as planets and moons, which I also commented on.

You might not know that Heliopause, Heliosheath, and Termination Shock are scientific terms that describe parts of the solar system Voyager I is currently going through. I think they make reasonably humourous metaphors for menopause, condoms, and death. The golden record wih 56 languages is in fact attached to the Voyager spacecraft, and does include a variety of human music. Perhaps I have overused the joke about humans not being intelligent or keeping intelligent species away, but anything sung by a combination of Ice T, Shirley Temple and Metallica would surely keep most people away!

Let me know if it makes more sense now, or what you think needs changing. I might also like a second opinion. Rogpyvbc 07:09, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Ahh, another one is struck down accidentally to my mortal hands (I swear I'm trying to get the robot hands, but something about them not being invented yet is holding me back). I have tabbed NRVing and other tags, that can help people improve their articles. It was originally going to be a {{ugly}} tag, which basically means, add some headers and maybe a picture then you can get rid of it. But, on my way up I must have hit the wrong one. I will get rid of the tag, as I can see that you've got rid of the ugliness (which is good, because if I would have removed the NRV, I would of hit it with ugly). But, the article looks fine, I'm not really and expert on the Voyager I spacecraft, but I'm pretty sure someone is. Maybe, once you've got it done you can head over to Pee Review and get it reviewed there.
Oh and I'm also glad that you have come to speak to me about this, people in the past just go and vandalise the user page or whatever when their "article" (normally a few lines) is hit with NRV/ICU. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Oh and if you need any help with anything else in the past, just ask. Thanks for reading. —Braydie at 11:29, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
