GW part two

Ok...now I get it.

I will certainly agree with your assesment that the original article had become very bloated. I hadn't visited in a while and on first glance it looked as if the article as it sits now had been done not with the goal of humor in mind...but as propaganda.

In any case...I was aware that the "George Dubya Bush" page existed...but not as to why it was there rather than "George W. Bush". I'm still somewhat new to the wiki concept and was also unaware that there had been a discussion on this. Now I know to look before hand. Thanks.

I do appreciate the time you have taken to discuss this rationally. I think I'll go back and tweak the "dubya" page as that is more my style of satire. I'll leave the subtle approach to you nice folks. Sound good? :-)

GW BUSH

Fine, you win. The text of the article as it sits now looks after a casual read (which if you think about it...is all most Uncyclopedia articles are going to receive) as if it was pulled directly from www.whitehouse.gov with some very subtle alterations.

I pulled the original article, edited it to clean it up a bit and put it back up. It was "in your face" blatant satire. A casual read-through of the current article makes it very difficult to see it. I did go back through and carefully re-read the article as you and others have reverted it and can see where you are going with it...but I simply do not agree.

If you think about it, no one kind of satire is "better" than another. However, the article as I reverted it is certainly easier to define as satire and not as a hack from a lackey from the RNC. That is something you may wish to consider.

It is obvious I've been overruled and I'll accept that. I promise not to modify the article again. It is time to pack up my keyboard and leave. Thanks, it was fun while it lasted.

Yahoos!

Bro, I just read your entry for best rewrite and I left a comment on the discussion page, but I wanted to let you know I think your entry in that category is the best - you deserve these more than I do :) Good luck and Congrats!

DaveMustaineAward LinkTGF has awarded you the exquisite

Dave Mustaine Award of Excellence
Not only do you do great things, but you are unrecognized for them :(
Continue and someday I will like something of yours enough to steal it and call it my own!

Wow and after I teased you Yesterday about the vanity stuff, and everything... thanks, man. I appreciate the props, dude.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 19:02, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

UnNews

I just listened to a few UnNews audio stories, and must say that your broadcast reading skills are the best of all the people doing them. You should do more of them (I just listened to your rendition of my Pultizer prize story). --Composure1 22:04, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your kind words. I would, if I wasn't so lazy.  :) I even have a reference to UnNews in my sig. I shall try to be more productive.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 23:06, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

The Root of All Evil

I'll admit I was a bit troubled when this (my Poo Lit entry) failed to generate much interest. I'm terribly relieved that there are people that like it, because it took quite a bit of work to plan and produce. Thanks for the vote, Brad!  :) --Bear 12:16, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Anytime, Bear. You DO have to keep writing quality stuff to keep my support, though.  ;)--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 12:17, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
I guess my preliminary sketches for An Illustrated History of Bellybutton Lint, 1640-1980 are ready for the recycling bin, then. A shame, really.  :) --Bear 12:24, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Peyton Manning

(moved from VD, since my talk page was protected)

Bradaphraser- I found your Peyton Manning article hysterical, I would nominate it to be featured but most people on here only know about "sports" like cricket, and wouldn't get it...Very very funny though, oh and your talk page is locked so I couldn't tell you that "in person"--2nd Lt. Claudius Prime 17:43, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Vote Count

Hi Brad. You might want to check back on the VFH talk page for RC's verdict on vote counts. The correct score for your article is actually +8 (as it was), not +12. Sorry.  :( --Bear 18:42, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Ok, we're apparently counting differently. How are you coming up with +8? I just recounted a little more carefully and got 11.5.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 18:45, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
16 fors, 4 againsts, with one of the fors being an IP.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 18:47, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
My bad. It's 11.5. I didn't recount. I just figured there was still a split on counting techniques when I saw the vote count spike up suddenly. I guess people are just not updating. --Bear 18:55, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

UnRetired

What's this? You've gone from anchor of the national newsdesk to consultant? At least you've got a snazzy new award to show for the great work you did. Granted, it's hard to find the time and peace and quiet to record sometimes (or maybe that's just my problem). I'm going to ask STM if he'd consider contracting in a partnership with me, so I can do all his stuff exclusively. It's easier than having to fight it out to find stories to record from the pool.  :) And hey - congrats on getting opped! But beware of bitterness and disillusionment. If the sanity to idiocy ratio gets too high, walk away from the computer and have a bowl of ice cream. Or, go for a ride in your car and sing really loudly to whatever they're playing on the radio. I'm sure you've got better choices than these. But have fun.  :) ~ T. (talk) 13:54, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Heh, thanks for the advice, Mr. Lyons. I shall heed unto you. To be honest, though, I've been in retail. Nothing anyone has done online has ever equalled the idiocity I dealt with on a daily basis there. Well, ok, the Insane Jester accepting my apology, but nothing else.  ;)--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 23:37, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
P.S. Thanks for the VFP nomination for J.S. Bach on a Bass. I thought my reputation for having no photoshop skill whatsoever was well known. Well, now you know. :) If you ever see a good graphic on anything I've made, it was either googled or contributed by someone else with actual talent. :) Maybe RC can point me to a good step-by-step tutorial. It hurts to suck so bad. ~ T. (talk) 17:32, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
I for one, hope that he does not help you in the least. For I would hate to once again end up on the bottom of the "can't photomanipulate to save his life" pile. What? J.S. Bach on a Bass is better than anything I can do? Crap...well here's to hoping you break your hand. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 21:00, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Yahoo reskin

The front page looks great.  :) Now that you've rolled it out, you might consider "blatantly stealing" that format as your new user page design. I would, if it were my baby. ~ T. (talk) 13:39, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

I must confess... that IS appealing... I just might do that...--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 13:58, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Sadly, we really cannot start allowing users, even admin, to add their pages to the MediaWiki:Uncyclopedia.js. It would soon make the script unwieldly and slow (and it executes for every user and IP on every page visit on the site). Also, you can't even legally remove the ads for your user page via MediaWiki: scripts. You can however edit your personal User:Bradaphraser/uncyclopedia.js (and even remove the ads). ^_^ --Splaka 04:12, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
