What are you talking about? Famine won't leave my house! Would you like to read all of that stuff if Famine was in your house and refused to leave? Please make sense. Why is it so hard for people to make sense? Stop the drama! Start making sense! --Hrodulf 19:52, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I'll answer your question in this way. Who do you believe has authority at Uncyclopedia? Uncyclopedia is not America. Maybe it should be run more like it, but it isn't right now, and in the heat of an argument is not the time to make a call of that magnitude. At the very least, with you as angry as you are, no one will take you seriously. I've stated why authority is important in my essay, and you've stated that you believe authority has been abused. Ok, there are ways of dealing with abuses of authority, but making DEMANDS from a position of weakness to a position of power is NOT one of them. That is what started your problems with Famine, and him making a move that reminded you of his authority was the consequence. Famine doesn't single out users, he waits for them to single themselves out, and THEN acts. That's a major reason why I don't oppose him (especially not while he's doing his thing). Timing is as important as logic in an appeal, which is what you are making. Demanding a quick judgement will end in the judgement being leveled in favor of authority, and that's not at all what you want (at least, I don't THINK it is...).--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 21:06, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about the late response brad I just read this today august 15 2008. You have to understand that the whole "famine won't leave my house" episode was a result of an arms-race of insults. As a child I was cruelly mocked at school every day. I didn't know how to fight back, it wasn't in my nature. So when Famine said I needed midol, I decided to fight instead of take his abuse. And what happened, happened.

I hope that answers your questions about this incident. -Hrodulf August 15, 2008

Meh, to me, the issue is closed. Famine isn't even around much anymore.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 13:04, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
I will say that I think I made my position on admin name-calling users pretty clear to Famine, without undermining this authority.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 13:13, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
I don't think I saw your essay, do you have a link? -Hrodulf August 16, 2008
I had several conversations with him in IRC, as well as the essays I wrote here and elsewhere.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 23:01, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

I meant do you have links to the essays? links to the essays so I can read them? Hrodulf 8-16-08

I think they're all linked through this one. I never come out and specify any users in any of the essays. I only wrote three over this.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 11:35, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

I think your point was why stand up to power from a position of weakness. What you ignore is that I was actually not in a position of weakness at all. As amply shown by FWLMH I had the power of humor on my side, and I'd say that was more powerful than Famine's admin abilities. And I think that's sort of what this place is all about. It's not much of a humor website, really, if we can skewer Bush, but Famine is off limits. -Hrodulf August 18, 2008

You're speaking in present tense, as though he was still here.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 00:55, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
I'm speaking about what happened in December 2006. --Hrodulf 01:08, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Ok. Since you insist on talking about this, let's talk about it. If what you said had been funny, I would have been more apt to take your side. Therefore, you did NOT have funny on your side. Because you did not have funny on your side, you were arguing from a point of weakness, and this doomed your argument since you were trying to make a power play out of it. I made several comments here and in IRC that you took as being completely critical of you, but it was actually a veiled citicism of Famine's policies as well. You made me much less apt to go to bat for you by pitching ONE HELL of a fit. Despite the fact that Famine had been doing his thing before I even got here, I still took the position that what he was doing was wrong, and even went so far as to say that, without singling him out by name. As far as I'm concerned, he's gone, so it's not an issue anymore, as he's gone. I have seniority over almost everyone else here at this point, so the situation is unlikely to repeat in exactly the same way. I was trying to be diplomatic about it, but you won't let me, and it's frankly starting to piss me off.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 01:16, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Just because you didn't find it funny didn't mean it wasn't funny. Concocting that whole scenario with the house was hilarious in my opinion. Especially the ed parting shot at the end. And I don't really insist on talking about this, I just happened to google "famine won't leave my house" the other day on my blackberry and found this page. I was intrigued about your opinion on the whole thing, but disagree on the analysis that I was bargaining from weakness, really I see now not just because of the humor thing, but because Famine didn't really have any real power that I was bound to respect. Sure I'd contributed for awhile but honestly I'd rather have not been on the site at all, then be subject to Famine and his particular way of doing things. I recently quit ed.com for similar reasons. Also if I misunderstood anything, I apologize for that. Sorry if you are getting upset by this conversation but I really just don't see things the same way you apparently do. --Hrodulf 20:10, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
In that case, I suppose we can agree to disagree, then. What was upsetting me is that you still seem to be trying to get me to agree with you, and I don't. Ce la vie.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 02:26, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
I really don't think I was trying to change your mind on this, just responding to what you wrote. You see, Famine called me a name, and I was punished for calling other users names, so I figured if I was going to be punished, Famine should be also, and since it was obvious that was not going to happen, I decided to do it myself. You can think that was wrong, stupid, bad, or whatever you want. But it doesn't mean you're right, any more than I was. It's just a different understanding of the situation. --Hrodulf 13:20, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
