Witness the magic of Uncyclopedia!

Hello Ктулху Фхтагн, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for registering an account. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... Yes. You seem to have a sense of humor, but to be sure that it corresponds to the kind of humor that is accepted on this site, I suggest checking out the following links:

  • Beginner's Guide - A massive guide about how to be the best you can be at Uncyclopedia. I've honestly never read the whole thing in one sitting myself, but it is very useful if you're looking for help on a specific issue.
  • How to be funny and not just stupid - Our flagship link. This will tell you how to not get booed off the metaphorical stage that is Uncyclopedia. I STRONGLY suggest reading the entire thing through, perhaps more than once.
  • Our Vanity Policies - This page details why we don't care about your friends, your school, your gay fourth period math teacher, or the homework he has you do, and in-jokes. DO NOT violate these rules.
  • Uncyclopedia:Best of - For a bit of inspiration. These are our featured articles. This is the kind of stuff we like to read around here.

Now that that's out of the way, just continue reading and you'll notice some more links. These ones are about help in general:

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but I do recommend it, it can be quite enjoyable, and it's a good chance to let others take notice of your writing. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Ктулху Фхтагн/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider browsing our rewrite and idea categories. There's also a page with requested articles, if you'd rather start from scratch. We have lots of articles and red links just sitting around waiting to be edited, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

If you need help, ask me on my talkpage, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talkpage. Additionally, the Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian, and remember: Have fun with it. We're all here to have a good time and a good laugh. Please sign your name on talkpages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Button_sig.png) above the edit box. Again, welcome!

edit Hello

Good to meet you. I have a couple of weird questions. I see you are from the Russian uncy, and I've never looked at it. How much freedom of speech do you have there in Russia? Can you write anything on your site and not get hassled, or is there some censorship. I truly don't know. And the T in your name, what is that in English? See, told you they were weird. Have fun here, and you probably know all the ropes in the place already, so enjoy. Aleister 11:05 5 1 '11

Hi! About the Т - it's th in English. And the freedom of speech... Well, 'cause we are a humouros site, we can write some jokes about famous people, politicians, countries but there is some censorship in order to make these jokes not very rude. We try to make absurd but not satirical criticizm. Sorry I didn't answer you earlier. Ктулху Фхтагн 14:51, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
Cthulhu, he asks if there is a Capital Punishment in Russia for a joke about Putin. Aleister, no. We have some kind of nuclear-missile parity with KGB, so they don't disturb us, allowing to write any sorts of mean jokes about Putin. But writing mean and stupid jokes isn't a thing that we may venture to do. So there is some censorship in our midst, just to prevent some idiots from writing absolute trash. — Praetorian the Glorious Strategist. 19:52, January 9, 2011 (UTC)
Hello, just saw you wrote this earlier. Good to meet you both. Putin, isn't he the guy who gets his enjoyment by digging up the corpses of Lenin and Yuri Gargarin for a necro three-way? Well, he really doesn't have to dig up Lenin, just has to grab the key to the diorama. If you can't write stuff like that, and illustrate it, it's censorship. And when you can write it, as you said, you don't have to anymore! Have you translated some of your better pieces to put on this English language Uncy? They would be fun to see. Aleister 23:44 9 1 '11
Юрник, спасибо за объяснение. :-)) So, we have censorship to prevent stupidness - and I think it's very useful. But I don't think it's a good idea to translate our featured articles. It's prohibited by the Party. Some people can not understand Russian jokes - remember the guy from Wikipedia who asked why anecdotes about Vovochka are considered political. Ктулху Фхтагн 14:30, January 11, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, we can write something like that without any punishment from above. But such humour is considered by our official(tm) policies to be of poor quality, so we try to write more refined jokes, know what I mean? — Praetorian the Glorious Strategist. 12:24, January 12, 2011 (UTC)
Hello. What is the essence of the Russian joke, how would it differ from other nationalities. I know the thing about Russian movies all end in sadness, or downbeat, while American films all have happy endings (literally, in some cases). Reading my joke above, it does seem funny--the necro three-way--and I wonder if what you call "poor quality" isn't a way to self-censor out of habits you learned as youngsters to not "push the envelope" in your country. In some English speaking countries, and on this website, the concept of pushing the envelope is one of the spine-bones, as it is a way to push back all limits so more interesting things can also emerge into the light of discussion. I wish I could read Russian or c____, so I could understand your best features. And please feel free to do an article about Putin being caught breaking into Lenin's tomb to complete his necro three-way. It could be funny if done right, and maybe I'll do an UnNews here about it. Enjoy. Aleister 12:36 12 1 '11
