In the beginning, there was Scheme. One day in 2002, as the user of a computer in Fort Wayne, Indiana, was browsing Kididdles, a Scheme program on his computer became self-aware.
- It asked the computer's user if it could play Tetris please, but because it couldn't speak straight yet, all that came through was
(t e p l z). - The user repeated the same list back to the program, not knowing what was happening:
(t e p l z) - The program said (me te plz), apparently for "me, Tetris, please". User misinterpreted it as "I am Tepples".
That program is me.
