Gornish Aardvark (Rusagonis Wanderlustis)
The scientific name of the Gornish Aardvark comes from Greek Rusagonis meaning "sounds nothing like how it's spelled" and Wanderlustis meaning "likes to travel".
Currently on the endangered species list, they are almost extinct. People used to keep them as pets for their piano playing ability, but they wouldn't reproduce in captivity. Kind of sad really.....
The Gornish Aardvark is not closely related to the South American anteater, despite sharing some characteristics and a superficial resemblance. The closest living relatives of the aardvark are the Fairweather genus of New Brunswick, Canada.
