Heh i didnt create that site Max Goldberg created it when he first made ytmnd. I thought it was a great article... Yonnie 21:24, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

You think that was an article? Sorry it was not... Try like you know... Some words in your articles? MrN  Fork you! 21:27, Oct 19
Fine then ill take my work to Encyclopedia Dramatica where theyd probably appreciate it. I didnt know Uncyclopedia had devolved into a wiki-nazi cesspool. Peace out. Yonnie 20:18, October 20, 2009 (UTC)

## Fortran and FORTRAN

The former is now a redirect to the latter. The contents are merged, with about 25% new, based on first-hand work in the trenches. One paragraph is deleted, an almost deadpan description of the features of FORTRAN. Several "encyclopedia cliches" of the type I have railed against this week (Forum:Encyclopedia cliches) have also bit the dust.   22:47, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

## AWB

Okay, I've got it running, so now what? Friday, 02:13, Oct 16

Have you been able to "save" a page in AWB. You can "log in" as yourself in AWB. You don't need another account (for now). Oh, there are LOADS of settings which you need to look at and understand. There will be an error when you try to save the page saying that you need to have your bot added to the list of allowed bots. When you get to that point let me know the page it needs changing. MrN  Fork you! 02:25, Oct 16
I tried to log in as Necropaxx but it wouldn't let me. It says my IP has been blocked from account creation. Friday, 02:47, Oct 16
I just added Necropaxx to the list. Even if your name was not on that list you must have something else wrong as you should have been able to log on. Is your IP blocked??? Welcome to AWB. It's a bitch. Took me a good while to get it going. At that time the latest version did not run on Uncyc. I found a version in the archive somewhere but currently run version 4.6.0.0. MrN  Fork you! 03:18, Oct 16
Well, that's annoying. It's late here, so I'm gonna call it a night as far as AWB goes. Friday, 03:39, Oct 16

## User:Sionpierre and Global warming

You reverted your revert! I was planning to see if this quote would fit somewhere (other than the very top of the article). The very new user User:Sionpierre has also struck on GMT. Someone needs to shove a Guide to Editing in his mouth before he strikes again.   03:35, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

PS--On your comment on the talk page--I reviewed Climate change and started a thread in the Forum on whether we need multiple comedy approaches to essentially the same issue. The resolution of this is that Pwnerator is eager to rewrite Climate change along the lines the IP tried to do superficially.   03:38, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

Hea, I noticed that you had your eye on the page, so I left it to do as you will... As for talking to users, anyone can do that. ;) MrN  Fork you! 03:41, Oct 16

I've left him a note; but it's always possible that someone who types unformatted stuff at the top of an article doesn't read his Talk page either! Cheers   03:47, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

### Internationalizing Global warming

I despair of the task you have laid on me, to remove the America bias from this article! Al Gore is, after all, the top world impresario of the movement (along with his bete noir, Rush Limbaugh). The intro with balancing photos and quotes of Gore and Bush is just right, especially to set the tone of balanced indecision, and I get a big kick out of the anecdote of paying the village fool to fight the Civil War for you. The section "Activists" is in fact Canada-centric (I don't know any of the individuals). And I fear n00bs will constantly add parochial references in "Things you can do."

I'll limit the task to removing gratuitous references to America:

• The reference to Hollywood in the intro's bulleted list
• In "Recent developments," change Maryland to the Netherlands. No idea if they're the same size, but they're the same shape, more or less.
• Stop referring to "I shouldn't have to pay for anything if I can say it wasn't my fault" as the US motto.
• In the awful "Things you can do," reword: references to "desert states," the Democratic Party, and the entire item about floating California out to sea.

I'm open to deleting the section on "Daylight saving time" but have not done so yet. In fact, everything including and following "Things you can do" is total crap, left in only so that a lot of people who contributed (crap) can still identify with the article.   23:13 16-Oct-09

### Global warming and Gemma Freeman

Thank you for reverting an IP change to Global warming today. Virtually the identical change was added by User:Sionpierre on 15-Oct, without markup. You reverted it, then thought better of it. The kicker is that I did mark up the quotation he wants to force into the article, and it now exists at the start of Section 2. I did remove "world expert," as I Googled and found no evidence of it, and because I am on a crusade against encyclopedia clichés. I assume the fact that his text is already in the article is what you mean by your Change Summary, "READ THE ARTICLE!" I sometimes report stuff like this to BP with a not-necessarily-malicious tag.   00:07 18-Oct-09

Dude. You are so formal and structured it actually makes me feel itchy! By READ THE ARTICLE I was telling him/her to read the article. It was obvious they had just read the fist paragraph and nothing more. We get that a lot at Michael Jackson which is also similarly subtle to this article. I do however think Global warming does need "spicing up" which was kinda what I was trying to do with my edit about the other planets. I think the article should be written in the style of a VERY informed observer who knows all the facts, but as they are blended together so well can't tell what is true and what is not. If done correctly an article like this can be funny to people who support both perspectives of opinion. Right now (in my opinion) it's a bit bland... That's why you will get edits like the one you are mentioning... SPICE IT UP!! MrN  Fork you! 00:18, Oct 18
On a complete change of tone, Pwnerator is already anxious to do a complete rewrite over at Climate change. Let's see what results from this.   01:57 18-Oct-09
I just read some of the forum about this... Sometimes it works to have different articles about the same subject written from different points of view. I'm not in-favour of merging here. Probably what you should have done was to take the poor article to VFD. If it's good enough to survive there it's good enough for Uncyc. No need to create a forum dude. Yea, let's see what Pwnerator does... I would be happy if we had 10 different articles about global warming. I fancy the idea of an article written from the perspective of us having to kill all the whales as they eat all the algae... Maybe need to ethnicity cleanse the Welsh as a result... MrN  Fork you! 02:11, Oct 18
I've now run across this exact philosophy (Let a dozen style-diverse flowers bloom) in UN:HTBFANJS (Section 4, bullet 4). By the way, bullet 5 is new today; technically true, but the change strikes me as vandalism or ridicule. And I don't much like the user's name either.   22:20 19-Oct-09
I guess a lot of people have that page watchlisted. No need to check with me all the time dude. Do what you feel is right. MrN  Fork you! 22:25, Oct 19

## You're alive

What? You're alive... That stinks...... Anyway I think you should read this, this, this, and this the new articles that have been vandalized. I'd fix it but I don't know how. --User:Killer_3.14

Um, What? MrN  Fork you! 14:13, Oct 16
Forgive me for listening in, but Watch is enabled based on our preceding talk. I too noticed "Say what you will, fart jokes are always funny" at the start of UN:HTBFANJS and was leaning toward ripping it out myself--especially having gotten a sort of push from PuppyOnTheRadio to muck with it. If just 1% of readers take that line seriously, there is going to be a lot of repair work to do.   14:04, October 16, 2009 (UTC)
Yea, someone should take a look at that. ;) MrN  Fork you! 14:13, Oct 16
Have now repaired it and added a link regarding encyclopedia cliches.   14:18, October 16, 2009 (UTC)
Nice. Thanks. MrN  Fork you! 15:53, Oct 16
Mordillo returned to action and undid this. I reverted him (explaining in the Change Summary, which he would not read as he continued to make edits) and got an arm chewed off, in a friendly way. The link to encyclopedia cliches is still in for now. Mordillo makes the valid point that the article should not reference stuff in private namespaces and says he will take the issue under advisement; has now read our debate in Forum:Encyclopedia cliches.   23:17 16-Oct-09

## Funnybony is very happy to here (hear) from Mr N

Wow, dude! I thought you abandoned me or were unhappy. Am glad to hear from you, and hope you stay in touch. always. Your friendship and guidance is MEGA appreciated! I'll be your Noob anytime.--Funnybony 01:50, October 16, 2009 (UTC)
Easy tiger. What's new? MrN  Fork you! 18:14, Oct 16
Well, you were becoming my guru, and suddenly vanished. It was a terrible time. The sky was all dark even at noonday, and it started raining bowling balls. Apart from that it's still not 2012 yet. If Uncyclopedia wants to save the world, then it would be good for your best writers to continue the Mayan Calendar for another 1000 years from where they got bored and stopped. It's all based on the Mayan calendar stopping, so it would be good to take it further, and avert a serious bummer! Now THAT would be a worthy article. Best wishes.--Funnybony 18:56, October 17, 2009 (UTC)
Did you know that there were over 8,000 books there when they destroyed the Mayan. Of them 3 survived. You should look into what those books were. Who knows what was in the others. Also, why the hell did we burn them all??? WTF? I find that hard to believe. Also, a few different people have taken different translations in different ways. Most of what you hear about the Mayans comes from Sitchin. He's not the only person who translated them. You might also like to know that the Greeks also noticed the "precession". The wobble of the Earth. They noticed this 150 years before the Mayan's did. It's not hard to spot it. You just look up in the air and measure the position of the pole star. Then your grandson does the same years later, and over generations you noticed that it moves at a given speed which can be predicted. Any people who are looking up in the air for any length of time will spot it, just like the Mayan's spotted it. We just think that they had some mystical connection to something cos they are all dead now. ;) The precession is just the Earth wobbling on it's axis. Or... Was it Aliens? MrN  Fork you! 19:34, Oct 17
HAAAAA!!!! You got a point there. I hope 2012 the movie (and Uncyclopedia article) are all there is too it. Well, if the Maya are all dead then what OTHER connection could they have now besides mystical? Historical!!! I still think it a good article subject of Uncyclopedia Saving the World by extending the Mayan Calendar (must be carved in stone, mind you). No computer printouts. That's, like, way too scifi for the Mayans, man, they'll cut your freakin' head off if you whipped out a Mac Book back then. But first they'll paint you blue.--Funnybony 21:30, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

### About Charlie the Unicorn

Sorry about that. I thought, however, the page appered to have been rewritten from a user's test to an article. So, I tried using it for an article. Advice? Hypnotizinghypnosis 23:30, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

Hea, I'm not sure about the article. What I did not like was a user grabbing another users user page and moving it into the mainspace. Kinda not the done thing really. As for the article itself I did not look at it. I guess if that user is not around now then it would be fine for you to do something based on it, but create it as a new article. MrN  Fork you! 23:40, Oct 17
I put back the old version from June 15 on the userpage, and created the cleaned version at a real article. On a sidenote, should The Fox and the Hound still be protected? It said it was an idiot magnet, but the same idiots fooled with the dalmatians, The Rescuers, The Black Cauldron, and even The Lion King. Also, among the ips used, the same ip that started the page started G-Force (now G-Farce for lulz). Hypnotizinghypnosis 00:26, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
Well we had a problem with a user who kept creating new accounts you see... Anyway, that Unicorn page needs LOTS of work... Enjoy. MrN  Fork you! 00:33, Oct 18
I can see, but, why weren't the other pages I meantined protected? They got the same kinda dickery. But anyway, I will work with Mr. Charlie (start by adding Charlie the Unicorn 2), but the better version doesn't look as great. Because, it's more true, like the plot, it's like a three-year old was writting it for Wikipedia. Also it removed some edits I tried redoing from a new user called Defender Miz. The shoes filling thing was hilaous though, but it was still there already. Thoughts? I started a disscussion on the talk page. Hypnotizinghypnosis 00:45, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
Oh yeah I forgot, I made The Secret of NIMH and an ip added about the aweful sequel, should we have a page for that too? It was too funny, The Secert is Out: Don't Watch This Video! Lol. Hypnotizinghypnosis 00:47, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
Regarding what is protected and what's not... You may be mistakenly looking for some kinda consistency on Uncyc which does not exist. :P If you really want that page un-protected, talk to the guy who protected it... Looking at the page history I think Led had his reasons... Sorry, I did not read the article. I'm not a fan of the "write as a child" style though. It's easy to do and kinda obvious. Especially on articles about childish subjects... MrN  Fork you! 00:56, Oct 18
I will write something about the movie known as Condo in my Frige and some chihuahua movie similar to G-Force on the Walt Disney page, should I do a userspace for those and the Teletubbies Gone Bad too? This is just I wonder if these had pages, would that user go away? They might have left after The Fox and the Hound was protected, but the more they go away, the better, right? Also, I think for The Fox and the Hound, someone might do something with it, as an ip, or even a new user, I think maybe you could try it. Still, if problems come back, protection can be done. Or maybe it was just it was the biggest target, and perhaps one that was edited least often. I like it's style, esspecailly Copper wanting to devour their souls lol.. Unicorn and Condo in my frige, here I come! Since they have a "the good times thing" and it has Atlantis which was already past that point, Home on the Range was the last that was traditionally animated. Hypnotizinghypnosis 01:07, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
Have you read BGBU? If not read it. Also read HTBFANJS. Both are very helpful. MrN  Fork you! 01:11, Oct 18
Appernly the ip that redid Condo in my Fridge didn't. Maybe there is a way to write about such movies? I might could work with it. Copy? Also I might want a copy of Wow Wow Wubbzy and Wikipedia of the Future. I think there was even a QVFDD'd article by that guy called Wow Wow Wubbzey EATS POOP and the content was POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP and The Bite Fight which said STOP BITING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. So they don't even have content. bTw, do you think Sagwa can survive? Should I work with it too? Time to do Charlie lol. Hypnotizinghypnosis 19:41, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
Sagwa looks very childish to me. Sorry, I'm not a fan. I'm not in the habit of recreating pages generally, especially if it's not the author who is asking me. As for your other edits... It's a wiki... You don't need permission to edit. MrN  Fork you! 19:49, Oct 18
OK. I added to Charlie, but it still might need more. Luckly, someone might do it. I will watch. For Sagwa, I will try to make it less childish. You can still send me copies, although I'm not sure if it should be: on the talk pages or somewhere, or, perhaps, User:Hypnotizinghypnosis/Condo in my Fridge for example, since it's not mine. OR, could you post it at in my Fridge? Since it seems to be the same, merge anything that they added or made funnier. Hypnotizinghypnosis 20:33, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

## Pie

Thank you for reverting one of those edits, not just because NDS was the SWotM, but because the old version was subtle and clever, and the newer version was aimless free-association. How do you feel about his other changes? I think they are also aimless free-association. And the guy can't spell.   00:15 19-Oct-09

I did not check them. I was only defending the SWotM. Important stuff that. As for the rest, use your best judgement. It's best to use a revert reason if you do revert... A bit of time explaining your reasons can go a long way. MrN  Fork you! 00:18, Oct 19
I'm torn, that's why I asked. If he were an anonIP, I would have blown them away by now. It looks like this is the second article the guy has dug in on. I am not impressed on either one, but didn't come here to burn out all the other n00bs before they can get good. We'll see.   00:30 19-Oct-09
Upon further review..."proclaiming it's [sic] holy goodness" (of Pie, that is)--Is this humor? None of it is. Yes, it is odd that blackbirds cooked in a pie could fly out; always been odd. None of it is funny. I'll sleep on it, but it won't matter. I have not forgotten the effect of harsh words on master Funnybony, and maybe tomorrow I'll think of a non-harsh Change Summary. Thanks for your input, and it looks (directly above this) as though you really have your hands full.   00:35 19-Oct-09
You probably should not think that different users deserve different levels of attention. Personally I try to put in an equivalent of that which I can see they have. Or to some extent. Basically it's give and take. ;) But if it's a bad edit it's still a bad edit. Maybe keep some of it, move it around a bit and blend it in. That's how ideas develop. MrN  Fork you! 00:39, Oct 19
I'll try to raise him on his talk page (ChiefjusticeDS has just given him the usual welcome, no idea if he'll read it) and not do anything rash until tomorrow. Thanks again.   00:48 19-Oct-09
Upon further review, I can't just revert either. Because, a propos of pie-fillings, he mentions Sweeney Todd (though he misspells it). We have two articles on that, though the excellent main article only tangentially mentions the cannibalistic range of pie-fillings. This is a chance to cross-sell. More tomorrow.   01:15 19-Oct-09
Obligatory link. 01:43, 19 October 2009
Yeah, that's how this started, NDS was in a footnote that the n00b deleted, MrN put it back, and I'm wrestling with the rest of his changes. I'll try to unify them tomorrow.   02:23 19-Oct-09

N00b read his talk page and converted Sweeney Todd to a link. I have just pulled his material into the intro; it reads less like free-association (inviting anonIPs to add anything they can think of that relates to Pie) and greatly helps the intro. Thanks for your role, which helped induce me to sleep before editing.   15:16 19-Oct-09

## Sun Bees and Flaming Potatoes

The Sun Bee article has one of those Wikipedia link thingees {{wikipediapar|Bug (1975 film)|Sun Bee}} that apparently randomly changes. A couple of times it's been the Wikipedia/Uncyclopedia world/potato symbol which bursts into flame. Is there an easy way to make this come up on the Sun Bee article every time? Something bursting into flame just seems to fit. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 06:20, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

Got to Template:wikipediapar and view the source. Cut and paste the whole kit and kaboodle into your page, substituting your {{{1}}}{{{2}}} to your destination and the display text. Cut up the <choose><option> at the start so that it displays just the image that you want. Or ask a geek. Pup t 09:49, 19/10/2009

BTW: Because VFH rejected God, does that make them atheists?--Funnybony 23:46, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

I my self voted against "God" article, because it failed to include the mono-theistic religions of the East, e.g., Hindu Vaishnava, and Shinto, and a batch of other. If the article was the "Western View of God" then I would have voted yes, but the subject is too lopsided as is, for such a vast subject as God. You need a scholar of comparative religion to help out.----Funnybony 23:46, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

I partially agree with you. This is about the Abrahamic God. But some people wanted it even narrower, cutting out any reference to anything other than mainstream Christianity and Judaism. Also when I worked on the article I talked a lot to my "uncle with too many degrees" the religion expert. He said Vaishnavism isn't monotheistic because it recognizes other gods. But he also said he doesn't think Trinitarian Christianity is truly monotheistic either. Maybe if somebody writes articles on other "one Gods," the God page could be made disambiguous and could link to "God in Abrahamic religions" (which is what is used in Wikipedia). If we put everything Godly in this one article, it would take over all of Uncyclopedia. Dame Pleb Com. Miley Spears (talk) 00:51, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Also, if you would be so thoughtful, ask God if the BIG BANG was intentional, or just a fuck-up? If He can part the Red Sea then He could just "appear" on the feature page... And even change the name of the this website to Godcyclopedia. Don't put it past Him. Getting rejected by VFH might piss Him off so bad that the wheels leading to Dec 21 2012 are set in motion. The whole fucking world gets fried because of goddamn VFH.--Funnybony 21:44, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Don't forget either that this is a parody, and we try and keep it light to increase the accesibility. I'm having trouble with the end result at the moment because it's already too complex, add in other theistic concepts. (You notice that nobody is screwing with Islam here either!) ## Hey, is it possible to lock a page so only people with rollback rights could edit it?

I don't know why I thought of it, but I wanna know if it's possible... MegaPleb Dexter111344 Complain here 21:42, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Not that I know about... MrN  Fork you! 00:20, Aug 27
I don't think that is possible. (I tried it messing arround at the unadmin wiki) However, it would be a good idea for wikia to implement. --Mn-z 05:17, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Technically possible (implemented in the Hebrew Eincyclopedia). Do we need it? No. The concept of free editing, as much as possible, needs to be kept. By implementing that you create yet another level of novelty (that wasn't even voted for by the community). Rollback is a simple anti vandal tool and should be kept as such. ~ 06:15, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
You could have a level of "trusted users" that could edit "3/4 protected" pages, and do such tasks as update the featured article when no admin is around. Basically, the idea would be to allow some protected pages to be lowered to "3/4 protection". Also, if possible, I would support removing the pagemove limit on the rollbacks too. Of course, we'd probably need to talk to Sannse about it and get community consensus. --Mn-z 06:30, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
<edit> Looking at my bot powers, there may be quite a few minor user rights should be given to a "trusted user". For example, with my bot account, I have no pagemove limits and I can suppress redirects when moving a page. --Mn-z 07:06, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm going to be harsh here, so don't take that personally (it's coming due to the fact I saw that implemented in other wikis). So here goes - Over my dead body. We're not going to implement another level of "pesudo-administrators", or "trusted" users. We are not having another level of bureaucracy people can aspire to rather than writing articles. Who is going to make a decision about "trusted users"? Another voting? More drama? More whoring? Let it go, the added value is minimal in comparison to the stink this will raise. ~ 08:37, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Hea, why leave it there? We could have 10 levels to show how important a user is? Depending on their importance they could have a different hat?... Na. As said... That's not a good idea. Thing is, we do have rollback. I do think the page move limit should be removed for Rollback users. Suppress redirect also probably. Also, there is an option which allows all of the subpages of a page to be moved in one operation. Now that should be turned on for just admins. Unfortunately after the experience I had when I was told in person that we could have checkuser, made a forum about it, and was then told: "Oh you can't" I find dealing with Wikia staff somewhat frustrating. We REALLY need checkuser. Often Admins don't bother with Sannse & checkuser for many of the cases of socks (takes days for a reply, and by then the sock has had their fun and left), so we are full of them. Also, when I suspect someone is a sock, I REALLY don't want to advertise that fact to everyone on the entire Wiki generating drama. It's bonkers. /end rant. MrN  Fork you! 09:56, Aug 27
Ok, the "3/4 protection" thing might be a bad idea. But like MrN said, giving rollbacks unlimited pagemoves and redirect suppression might be a good idea to fight pagemove vandals when an admin isn't present. I do believe that with such user rights, a user could move the page back to its original location by moving (& blanking) the vandal created redirects into userspace or a "designated trashbin space" and placing them of QVFD. It is kind of silly that I could do that with a bot account (which isn't for fighting vandalism) while rollbacks can't. --Mn-z 15:57, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Well with redirect suppressed there is no page created, so it's possible for a rollback user to repair everything done by a page move vandal without needing an admin at all. Currently we need an admin to delete the redirects. That's why vandal trolls do it. Cos it requires an admin. I'm not sure what you are talking about regarding userspace or "designated trashbin". You can just move it back. MrN  Fork you! 17:25, Aug 27

I was talking about writing over the redirect and issues of multiple moves. I think a regular user can move "Page A" over "Redirect B" if and only if "Redirect B" redirects to "Page A" and "Redirect B" has nothing else in its history.

Now, if the pagemove vandal moves Chuck Norris or "Elderly Right Wing Nutcase" and edits the now redirecting page of Chuck Norris, the new Chuck Norris page must be deleted to make way for the move. However, a rollback could simply move (and blank) the new Chuck Norris page to, say "User:IHazRedirectSuppressionRights/garbage1", clearing the location. Then the page could moved back, and the blanked relic redirect could be put on QVFD.

Also, If a pagemove vandal moves a page twice, it is not possible for a regular user to move it back directly.

For example, if a pagemove vandal moves Chuck Norris to "Elderly Right Wing Nutcase" to "Old Crazy Bastard", it would not be possible for a regular user to move "Old Crazy Bastard" back to Chuck Norris over the redirect. The user would need to move "Old Crazy Bastard" back to "Elderly Right Wing Nutcase" and then back to Chuck Norris. After thinking about it, undoing the move in reverse order would make the most sense for double page moves, as it would clear the unneeded redirects automatically. Although, the "clear the original target via a supressed redirect move" method might make sense if the same page is moved several times my multiple socks of the same vandal.--Mn-z 18:16, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Well, rollback is an anti-vandal tool which is intended to reduce the need for admins. I'm totally against granting additional editing rights to rollback users, but I see no problem removing the page move limit and allowing suppress redirect. I remember trying to fight page move vandals before I was sysop. It's a right pain in the arse, and not much fun. Fighting vandals is fun when you know that it's taking you less effort than the vandal. Giving rollback these extra rights would allow that. MrN  Fork you! 19:27, Aug 27

Wow. I just wanted to know if it was possible... I didn't in anyway intend any more of a discussion than a "yes" or "no" or "Shut the fuck up and get back on your knees and do your job!" reply... I mean really... Kinda like with A wizard did it... I didn't expect it to be very well-known at all. Just a funny stub if you see it through Special:Random... Maybe I should keep everything I say under 100 words... MegaPleb Dexter111344 Complain here 19:28, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Wrong: Discussion over, shut the fuck up and go write an article. ~ 19:45, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
On the plus side, you can now move pages without creating redirects. Hopefully the rollbacks will not go mad with power now. --Mn-z 05:02, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Yea, I managed to catch Sannse in IRC and mention about it. It should help a lot. MrN  Fork you! 05:32, Aug 29

## This is sorta related

Would there be a way to change the protection settings of featured images so that the image description is only semi-protected (if that) while the image itself is protected from being uploaded over? There have been several times that I couldn't add a category to an image because it was fully protected. --Mn-z 16:47, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Forum:Protect featured images? was where this was decided apparently. Um, not that I know about, or without needing to create 2 pages for each image. I'm happy to edit what needs changing if ya let me know when it does... MrN  Fork you! 17:35, Aug 27
I can't think of anyway to do that off hand. I'll try messing around in the unadmin wiki for ideas. The only I could think of right now would be to have the licensing and category info for the images in templates. --Mn-z 18:18, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
I don't think it can be done, short of wiki update. And reworking the licensing and category data via templates would be more trouble than its worth. However, we might want to reconsider reducing the protection of those images to mere semi-protection. I can see the issue with vandalism risks, and they are on the main page. But, because the featured image is randomly chosen, vandalizing a single featured image wouldn't do much harm. I also suspect that the community wasn't considering the issue of image categorization when they decided to protect the featured images. We leave most featured articles unprotected for much the same reason, i.e. a regular user might see a minor fix that needs to be done. --Mn-z 18:35, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Yea, with two pages (one a template or whatever) it could be done. I don't think the issue is risking having shock images on the front page, more the fact that the image itself IS featured, so should never be changed or uploaded over. This would happen if it was not sysop protected from time to time. Personally I'm favouring keeping things as they are, but thinking about it, I'm not sure I have ever featured an image myself! If there is someone to convince about what we do with images it's probably Modus who tends to be the man at VFP these days. Maybe have a word with him? MrN  Fork you! 19:18, Aug 27

Well I'm trying to write an article that won't be huffed. I know I'm treading into dangerous territory, but I've gone into Huff Land before and survived. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to see them at Talk:Pedobear. Thanks! Danger Girl Miley Spears (talk)

I did not huff it! I huffed the talk page. However, my suggestion would be to do it as though he was a British politician. That would give you lot's of scope to talk about his campaign election, his polices, and the stuff he gets up to on a day to day basis. It would need to be written in a VERY strong encyclopaedic (maybe deadpan) style for it to work. That's my suggestion... ;) MrN  Fork you! 05:36, Aug 29

What's the matter with the formatting, as in, what specifically. I just trawled through it adding links...and we're working on more pictures of it
luiz127
Look at UN:BEST for examples of good formatting. Don't have long lists. They suck. Loose most of that math stuff at the end... That sucks. As I said, you need to decide which bits are not as good as the others and trim it down. I'm not going to delete it though, so don't feel like I'm telling you to. That's just my suggestion. With some more pictures it will look better. Oh, trim it down to only 3 quotes. Loads of quotes at the top also screws the formatting. Well, it's to go at the top of the page here. I'm planning a bit of an overhaul of that page. I'm going to organise it with links to recently edited articles and generally encourage people to edit the wiki a bit more. I guess this would be a banner to go at the top... Like, someone clicks the "Things you can do" button and it's like.... EDIT SOMETHING!!!! You get the idea I hope... As for what to do... Um... Hmm, yea probably does not need the STFU. Maybe "Edit Something Dammit!" ??? -- Not sure about "now go edit" ... It's going to be the first thing people see when they click the "things to do button". Hey, I'm way new to uncyclopedia. I've read articles for a while but just started to write them so I need some help. I re-wrote the opening paragraph for you. The a lot of the rest of it looks like it was copied from Wikipedia, but then a someone added some totally random stuff in. Totally random stuff is not good. Especially if it's about but fucking and Asians in the article on Yellowstone national park. Is there much but fucking there? More so than in other places on average? Probably not. Cos of that, it's not really funny, cos it's kinda obvious. I'm not just talking about the but fucking, but generally be more subtle I guess is the trick... The pages you deleted, Category:MNU Approved, Template:MNU Approved, and District 9, were not corporate advertising. MNU is a fictional corporation from the movie District 9. I just wanted to make some decent parody/meta-humor. The lack of articles may have made you confused, but it was just that I was about to post new articles to vary things up. I'm sorry if this matter really fucked you badly in the brain.

Yea, I see that now. However, it still all just looks like an advert to me. We are a humour Wiki. I notice that UU has noticed you also, so I'm going to wait for your reply on your talk page. ## Project Doggystyle with the Devil

First of all, I am NOT paid by any marketing firm to do this, nor am I a diehard fan of District 9. I did watch the movie, and I found it pretty decent. However, the real fodder for my articles is the ridiculous viral marketing campaign of that movie. Not only they built a fictional corporate homepage and a fictional blog, at this year's Comic-Con, they even organized a protest outside, chanting for non-human rights! If that wasn't batfuck insane for you (chances are it wasn't), even the bathrooms in the Comic-Con barred non-humans! I just want to lampoon the over-the-top viral marketing like how Stephen Colbert travesties real bloviators and how Josef Stalin parodied 1984's Big Brother. If Jimbo Wales got to make fun of Uncyclopedia by creating Wikipedia, I should at least be given a chance to make fun of District 9.

Second, if the sheer lack of articles and/or organization is making you batfuck insane, here's my ultimate plan for Project Doggystyle with the Devil:
MNU Banned: This category is for articles that your usual oppressive corporation would not want you to read.

• MWB: MWB, or Menslike Weerstandbeweging (Afrikaans for Human Resistance Movement), is a human-supremacist organization opposed to prawn rights. I made up MWB myself, so it does not show up in the movie. However, it is a parody of Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging, an actual white-supremacist movement in South Africa. The humor of the article will be that although it claims to welcome humans of all colors, subtle cues throughout the page will reveal the implicit racism of MWB as well as its explicit anti-prawnism.
• District 9 (bootleg): This article is about District 9 as written by a prawn. The prawn is not very good at English, so the article will be really shitty grammar. Still, the prawn is able to expose horrible conditions in his home district. All other articles ending with (bootleg) will share the same characteristics.
• District 9 (MWB): Similar to the bootleg article of District 9, but with a flair of anti-prawn hatred. You guessed it: All other other articles ending with (MWB) will offend even the BNP.
• I'll think of more articles...

MNU Approved: This category is for your everyday corporate propaganda, the exact opposite of the above.

• District 9: This is an introductory article, linking to human and non-human versions of MNU's article on District 9.
• District 9 (human): This is where MNU gets to redeem itself through sugar-coating its role in the history of the prawn reservation.
• District 9 (non-human): Same as the above, with a catch. If you notice the highlight and the summary of the non-human text images, they are very similar to their English counterpart, but instead of euphemisms and nice words like "Violators will be subject to international criminal law." and "Have a nice day!", non-human text will have commanding, more explicit content like "Violators will face the death penalty." and "Strength through unity, unity through faith.". My goal is to be subtle, like the white "nothings" in the Andrei Tarkovsky article
• Still more to come...

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask, just not literally in front of the computer screen. I just want to be understood, that's all.

## Need a Notability Check for a British Subject

Dover Grammar School for Boys has a wikipedia page, but it only has a enrollment of 718. Is that notable enough for a uncyclopedia article? --Mn-z 15:52, September 1, 2009 (UTC)

It's more a question of does the funny outweigh the lack of notability. We would allow an article which was clearly personal vanity if it was hilarious enough IMO. I have noticed that page before. It looks well organised, and looks like it's got someone maintaining it from time to time who appears to understand what Uncyc is about. I'm sure it needs a UN:VAIN trim though, which is obviously the problem with this kinda thing as it tends to attract it. Only a VFD could rule on the funniness... MrN  Fork you! 16:24, Sep 1
I don't think that one is VFD bad, its more of an issue of should we have articles on (non-notable) high schools at all. They would be natural cyberbullying magnets, and nobody really cares about most of the content in those type of articles. --Mn-z 05:36, September 2, 2009 (UTC)

## What do you think ...

... of this article I've recently created. I consider you a sort of mentor you understand and to my great chagrin nobody seems to have noticed my glorious article yet so I thought I'd ask your opinion. --Ozymandiaz 16:07, September 2, 2009 (UTC)

Hea. It's looking good. Just needs a few pictures and to be expanded a bit. People have noticed it. ;) The fact that it's still here after 1 day means that things are looking good for this article sticking around! I'm certainly not going to be deleting it. As for expansion, I recommend you check out wikipedia on the subject. I find reading through the serious stuff often inspires me to some new ideas for humour. Enjoy. :) MrN  Fork you! 16:15, Sep 2

### Eric Clapton

I enjoyed you Clapton article, but amazed you failed to mention The Yardbirds. The Yardbirds is when he was called GOD, and The Yardbirds is where he made his bones. The Yardbirds are famous for having the three guitar gods, viz., Clapton, Beck, Page. I grew up listening to Eric Clapton and the Yardbirds, and when my band, The Misunderstood moved to London in '66 is when Eric had quit the Yardbirds, made an album with Blues Breakers, and started Cream. I heard them live several times, including a rehearsal, and I must say, Clapton couldn't even touch Jeff Beck, who I shared a London flat with in '67 when he had quit the Yardbirds and had Rod as singer and Ron Wood on bass. I was very unimpressed with Clapton. He was better in the Yardbirds, then just got worse. Cream was what we call "exploitive Psych music"; they weren't psychedelic, they were Heavy Blues, but they had to dress psychedelic to be cool. Clapton was a "bluesman" at heart.

Who am I to judge Clapton's playing? I'm a guy who fronted a group with a guitarist whom Rolling Stone Magazine compared to, "Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page rolled into one". You can hear for yourself on http://www.myspace.com/themisunderstood1966

“What do you bloody mean, 'No lead guitar' in For Your Luv?”

## I'm disappointed

I'm disappointed. I'd assumed that Uncyclopedia had picked up on the one useful thing that those hacks at Wikipedia had going for them - that when one person starts an article, others will extend it. So, when I came back to see whether anyone had added to the seeds I planted at Jennifer Ehle, I was dismayed to see that it had been deleted with the message "Looks like you have given up on this one for now. Let me know if you want a copy of it back to work on it some more..." I kinda thought the point was that others would work on it more if they wanted to. :( ColinEdwards 00:11, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

MrN9000 hasn't been around for a few days. Anyway to answer your question, wiki-style co-operative writing doesn't work that well for humor articles. Almost of of the good articles on this site have had one primary author, or were a collaboration of 2 or 3 authors. Most of the articles that were created by several authors are quite random and self contradictory. --Mn-z 05:01, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

## 2012 solution

All the small lists on 2012 are funny and not important - they can stay, but the BIG LIST solution you have already figured. I've been commissioned by Mooshy to rerererevitalize IC. I'm to be the glorious leader, etc. because Sissy, Gerry, and Opty have all fucked off. So, I have a few general ideas to start with on what to do. First of all, no fucking infighting. What's said by the authority figures goes. This is Imperial Colonization, not Imperial United States Congress. Second, there should be more of a limit on articles for nomination. Somewhere between 5 and 10. We'll never get to all 17 that are up there if people's votes are so scattered. Third, an active recruiting drive. It fits the name. We're going to draft Satirical Soldiers to deal with the bloody natives at those shit articles on IC. This said, I still want to hear all of your opinions on what to do. Hmm. I kinda looked like a big open proxy to me. Maybe I'm wrong. I changed it to reduce the submask so it's blocking less people, and blocked anonymous users only. Also it's only a week now. Feel free to undo this block if you fancy it's still in error. MrN  Fork you! 20:23, Nov 11
I would never undermine your omnipotent pants superiority :) ~ 20:25, November 11, 2009 (UTC)
But sir I'm sure your realise that you can undermine my pants on any occasion which merits it. and... For those perverts who are looking over our shoulders and reading this private conversation... I am (obviously) referring to the fact that MrN is happy for Mordillo to change his blocks if he thinks it's a good idea. That was all. MrN  Fork you! 20:32, Nov 11
This may be related, which is why I'm putting this here. This is just me learning how things work here. I notice Dddie was banned. As the edits seemed reasonable (at least what I saw), I'm assuming this is because of the sockpuppet issue that was listed. I'm a little concerned about the banning IP issue, if that's what was involved, as I know someone who was was a very production user who was banned indefinitely because of this (not this wiki; another one). When the user tried to get the issue looked at twice by admins, it was refused. Of course many users used shared computers, such as at schools or public libraries; and some services such as AOL share IPs; other services change the assignment of IPs fairy frequently; many security programs use shared IPs; etc. If you block anonymous users for IP issues here only, though, I don't see that as much of a problem--but of course Dddie wasn't anonymous. Again, please consider this as an attempt by a user to learn how things work around here. (There's also a real irony that I got blocked for an hour for gloating, my first block here, right as I was trying to post this). WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 00:50, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Say what? Attempt to consider this to be a noob who is ignorant of the rules? I doubt it. Rather, I believe that this is an experienced vandal who's intentionally causing disruption- his use of multiple IPs would demonstrate this all by itself, as he's obviously and intentionally using tools to evade his blocks. In addition he blanks pages and replaces pages' content with his own crap. Speaking as someone who often has to revert his edits and list his pages for deletion, I think blocking this idiot is completely justified. -- 00:54, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
The person I know was blocked indefinitely for the same exact thing. Only that user was very production and had nothing to do with the one who was really vandalizing and sockpuppeting. My point it an IP, an IP range, even a variety of IPs used by the same user doesn't mean they're the same as someone else who's used the same range of IPs or even the exact same IPs. They could even be in different parts of the world. If you want to edit wikis from China, for just one example, using a variety of IPs and/or proxies is about the only way you can do it more-or-less safely, and even then it's safer if you use encryption. I list other examples above. I hope this helps! WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 01:03, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
I understand that you're attempting to make people see the issue from other angles; I've done similar things before with other issues on other sites. The problem remains, however, that whatever this person's intentions, they are still disrupting the wiki with their unwanted edits. If you want to talk to this person and offer them a chance to explain themselves, then you're free to post on talk pages of one of his sock accounts- even if you're banned you can post on your talk page, if I recall correctly. But don't be surprised when you just get more vandalism in response. -- 01:07, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Actually, if my experience is any indication, when you're blocked here you can't post period. I've seen it done differently at other wikis, where you can post on your talk page unless you've been really, really heinous. I'd like it if it was that way here too. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 01:20, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Ah. Well, then. /me steps aside to make way for admin decision on the topic -- 01:23, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Not going to happen. When someone is blocked, he's blocked for a reason. If he needs to communicate he has email and IRC. ~ 01:25, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
In my case, I've never gone on IRC here nor do I have any admin email addys. If I were blocked indefinitely, I'd simply be gone. I imagine that would apply to other users as well. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 01:31, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Anyone eager to try this out? >:) Thursday, 03:22, Nov 12 2009
When you're getting blocked the details of how to use the email option from an admin page or how to access IRC are very clear. You don't need to know any email, you just need to click the "send email" on the left menu and your email will be send. Most admins have the email option turned on. And by the way, if you're blocked indefinitely, the intention is for you to be gone. That's what blocks are for. ~ 08:59, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Thank you. But I will repeat my point that people can be blocked by mistake, and may not know to go looking for someplace where you can send email or where to look--I didn't know, and I've been editing wikis since 1999 (I was one of the originals at H2G2 back when Douglas Adams had it, before the BBC took it over in 2001 and claimed ownership of everything posted. A lot of us left in 2001, not coincidentally the same year Wikipedia began). The options you state are not options at some other wikis, and people won't necessarily know them. Ironically, the sockpuppet vandals are probably the people most likely to know how to use the system. The innocent may simply be lost. If someone's blocked indefinitely, I would suggest putting a message on their user page letting them know what they can do to show their innocence. Otherwise, it can be guilty until proven innocent, and you're not told how to prove you're innocent. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 19:09, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Read the text. It's all there. ~ 22:09, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
So I am to understand that if a blocked user tries to get edit a page (or maybe even log on), they get a message that links to this? If so, then good. If not, then I think the link should be put on their user page. (Also I'd like to add that my incessant whyning really is sincere and out of real concern, and is part of an effort to both understand and help this site.) WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 22:16, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Also if you or any admin has an answer to my question below (I think you should know I've been cloned), please let me know. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 22:21, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure I need to add anything to this? If you want to help dude, you might go through the articles this users edits/has edited and remove edits which you think they might have done. Per that DENY thing. Also VFD anything you think they may have created. That would be useful. MrN  Fork you! 23:31, Nov 12
Thanks for the suggestions. I've done some reverting of troublesome edits and am continuing to do so. But I do still have the question described in more detail above: So I am to understand that if a blocked user tries to get edit a page (or maybe even log on), they get a message that links to this? WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 23:40, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Yes. As you said... You have been blocked yourself. I'm guessing you saw that screen then. Most wiki have something similar. MrN  Fork you! 23:45, Nov 12
Good, I'm glad they have a chance. As to me, I was in the middle of writing a post about users being blocked, which is one of my posts above. I checked the block log and saw I was ironically blocked at that very moment for gloating over being right about Wikia policy (I admitted I was gloating when I made the post, so I suppose I deserved the block). So I did something else and came back later, and never really looked at the block message other than what was posted in the log. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 23:58, November 12, 2009 (UTC)

## I think you should know I've been cloned

A new user apparently unintentionally chose a user name that's virtually identical to my own. As irony would have it, I was the one who welcomed Whydoineedtoprovidethis, who looks productive and who even apologized here. Any suggestions on what could be done about it? I don't want that user to lose credit for any edits, but it will make it rather confusing with two of us with virtually the same name. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 01:28, November 12, 2009 (UTC)

Hi. Um? Sorry I don't see a problem here. Users can change their name if they want to by talking to Sannse. It's probably a fan of yours. Don't worry about it? MrN  Fork you! 23:25, Nov 12

## Goodbye

Sorry. You know my email if you ever want to chat. -- DameViktoria 01:51, 12 Nov

You took far too much coffee again it appears. MrN  Fork you! 23:32, Nov 12

## Good job snagging the Disney vandal

Now can you semiprotect these pages so that he can't mess with them anymore? -- 23:17, November 12, 2009 (UTC)

Think I got the ones which matter. I'm not a fan of protecting talk pages right now. MrN  Fork you! 23:33, Nov 12

## Hey.

I'm gone till Monday. I meant to tell ya last week. Sorry. See ya in a few days. MegaPleb Dexter111344 Complain here 23:19, November 12, 2009 (UTC)

I don't think much has happened. Um... MrN  Fork you! 23:34, Nov 12

## Ho

User:MrBradlay is on IRC wondering why he's blocked. He seems genuine, maybe you wanna hop on and have a chat with him? -OptyC Sucks! CUN00:50, 13 Nov

That guy? He's not blocked? WTF R U talking about? Well, I saw this and thought it was vandalism. Guess the previous edit was more so. MrN  Fork you! 00:55, Nov 13
Aye, sounds like he's just a well meaning but inexperienced nub. He said he'd come talk to you. -OptyC Sucks! CUN00:57, 13 Nov
I'm trying to avoid IRC. Too much stress. Guess it's sorted now. MrN  Fork you! 00:58, Nov 13
I hear that. Sorted and sorted. Thanks dad. -OptyC Sucks! CUN01:00, 13 Nov

## Can you unblock this dude?

I mean this dude, of course. He just popped into IRC asking why he was blocked, saying he's new and didn't mean to cause trouble. In addition, some of his edits weren't all that funny, but I don't think they were block-worthy. -- 00:52, November 13, 2009 (UTC)

Please let me like um... Edit my own talk page please dude. No need to ghost me. Thanks. MrN  Fork you! 00:54, Nov 13
I started my newsection edit before Optimus' post was on your page. Not quite sure what you mean by "ghost" but if I edit conflicted you it was obviously unintentional. -- 00:56, November 13, 2009 (UTC)
