The Regulator Online, often abbreviated as TRO, is the second most popular music cast on Justin.TV, and a website owned and operated by its proprietor and main DJ, Charlie The Man. It was first established under the moniker R8.08: The Regulator in June 2012, and later revamped as The Regulator Online in December 2012. It normally airs every Friday (8:00 - 10:00 PM EST) and Saturday (7:00 - 9:00 PM EST) except under serious, non-avoidable circumstances which are outlined on the official website.

On December 30th, 2014, Charlie announced his decision to disband The Regulator Online. The final episode is slated to air on ConnectCast.TV March 14th, 2015.

edit History (2009 - 2012)

In October 2009, Charlie joined Justin.TV. Having been a member, a recognized moderator in a few popular channels across the website, and equally notorious for his "take no shit" demeanor, which even forced him into hiding for a period early in 2011 as to avoid blogs and trolls attacking him, he attempted random, occasional casts every so often. Nothing had ever taken off on a stellar level until June 2012, after he was betrayed by another famous caster on the website, as well as their mutual friends at the time, of whom Charlie had employed as moderators. Seeking to one-up what he now considered his competition, as well as make a good name for himself, just days after this dissolution, an early incarnation of what would become The Regulator Online entitled R8.08: The Regulator was formed.

Originally, until December 2012, the channel had employed lesser known natives of the JTV community. Under this business model, The Regulator was gaining momentum. However, Charlie still considered his moderators "broken cogs in an otherwise well-oiled machine" in the chance that the project broke big, or became featured (which would later happen). Expelling everyone who was associated with this system, sans long-time friend The Technician, Charlie turned to a few others in his inner circle (jsing88, ratfink808 and sogydoughnut) as replacements, training them himself and telling them what to expect, as well as what not to from the place. With the new lineup came the development of a formidable casting schedule, name change, and in March 2013, a complete website. The inclusion of The Man They Call Asher, at the time, rounded out the proverbial police force for The Regulator Online. The first cast under the new name took place on December 9th, 2012.

edit The Regulator Online (2012 - 2014)

The first few months of The Regulator Online were tough, as viewers never exceeded past 20 per casting night, nor did they seem to stick around long whenever they did. A strong enough following to warrant the creation of a website finally came around the time of March 2013, however. So on the 15th of that month, was launched. The following month, after ironically, yet mistakenly getting shut down the same night by Justin.TV, The Regulator Online finally became a featured channel. Views and listeners began pouring in by the hundreds, and all seemed fine on the surface. However, behind the scenes, internal problems threatened to derail the train. As a result, The Man They Call Asher resigned on May 18th, 2013. His replacement, Zombiexgore, due to unrelated personal reasons, would, herself, resign at the end of July. Ratfink808, as of October 2013, has temporarily dropped out of the endeavor as well due to his basic training obligations. He is slated to return in or around March 2014.

The Regulator Online's last aired episode before an unplanned, extended hiatus due to computer issues was on August 24th, 2013. During the downtime, sporadic updates to the website, as well as social networking mediums Facebook, Twitter and YouTube were performed by Charlie himself, and the construction of a new computer, mostly out of his own pocket, went underway. Upon completion, TRO re-launched in January 2014. However, the re-launch was plagued by inactivity, and the eventual closure of the Justin.TV website. Upon its closure, TRO moved to ConnectCast.TV at the end of August 2014.

edit The End of TRO & Future Projects (2014 - Present)

On December 30th, 2014, following continued inactivity on the ConnectCast format and low website activity, Charlie announced his decision to disband The Regulator Online. The final episode is slated to air on March 14th, 2015. An internet radio spin-off to TRO including Charlie, as well as jsing88, is currently in the planning stages and slated to begin sometime in 2015, sometime after the disbanding of TRO. Charlie's fifth CD, entitled Bleed The Snake, is also in the works and slated for a late 2015 release.
