Without The Beatles is, kind of The Beatles second LP. The album is notable for the fact that The Beatles do not actually appear on the album (Hence the title). Despite the lack of the band, the album itself was a huge success, climbing the British charts during the Christmas season, and putting in place the events that would lead to their next album and first film, A Hard Days Knight.

edit Production (Or Lack Thereof)
After the smashing success of their first album, Thank Thank You, Beatles producer George Martin was quick to release a second album for the group. The band was still unheard of in the United States, who were crooning along to singing nuns and whatnot. Before they could attempt to build an American fanbase, the UK had to be conquered first. For the first time, the group was permitted to write and record in a studio. However, on the day recording was supposed to commence, the group's car was caught in a riot of screaming teenage girls. When Martin heard the news, he thought quickly, and realized that non of these girls could even hear the music over their screams. So, he threw together an album, and a track listing, although no music appears on the record itself.
