del log

The goal here is to improve the quality of Uncyclopedia, not to win a vote. You can edit a page during a vote. You can flip your vote if the page improves or if other voters convince you.

To nominate a page for deletion
  • Read these rules and the deletion policy.
  • Do not increase the number of active nominations on VFD to over 20, as a 1 day ban often offends. (Inactive votes, which are grayed out, don't count in the limit of 20.)
  • Please check an article's history before nominating it. If there has been vandalism, revert it to the best past version. Also, check the article's talk page to see if it is in Category:Deletion Survivor. If so, Special:WhatLinksHere will find the relevant VFD archive(s); read about how the previous vote(s) went.
  • Add {{VFD}} to the article in question. Failure to do so will invalidate the vote.
  • If an article survives VFD, do not resubmit it for at least 1 month.

Add a new article here

How to quickly find VFDable articles (using special pages)

To vote to delete or keep an article
  • Edit the section for the article in question.
  • To vote, start a new line at the end of the delete= or keep= section, beginning with #. This creates a numbered entry. Do not put a space before #. Increment the delnumber or keepnumber, whichever applies.
    • To post brief indented replies to a vote, start lines with #: with one or more colons; anything else breaks the numbered list.
  • To type a comment, start a new line at the end of the comments= section, beginning with * (as comments need not be numbered).
  • Votes with an explanation, and comments, are more helpful in analyzing the quality of an article.
  • ~~~~ - Sign and timestamp your vote. Unsigned votes will be removed without prejudice.

Do not delete any content without authorization. To change a vote, strike your old one and add a new one. Do not change other users' posts. At least 24 hours must pass before a nomination is closed or an article is deleted.

  2. Symbol delete vote Delete. Includes nonsense statistics, a section on the goofy concept the author just created, and other goofiness that is supposed to look funny although the reader won't know why. Bonus: Incorrect apostrophe character. Spıke ¬ 18:15 16-Feb-14

  • I am thinking about voting keep, because the first sentence makes me smile. However...the first sentence is the only good bit. I'll decide later. KickAssAndGiggle (talk) 13:34, February 19, 2014 (UTC)
The first sentence is typical of any unoriginal article written on a country near Russia (or Russia itself). When you've gotten over the hilarity that Russians drink vodka and their politics is a bit corrupt after a few of these article you begin to realise it is tiresome, repetitive and unoriginal. Please do poke jokes at Russian drinking habits and politics but make it original. Sir ScottPat (converse) White Ensign Scotland Flag 1 Compassrose VFH UnS NotM WotM WotY 14:52, February 19, 2014 (UTC)
The first sentence has aspects of a list done well: each item absurd in a different way and finally collapsing on itself. But it also has aspects of an article done badly: Tons of digressions, as though everyone in the classroom wanted to be the one writing the first thing. Giggle is right that, by the second sentence, we see that the charm is merely inability to write in English. Spıke ¬ 15:07 19-Feb-14
On reflection, I will abstain on this one, and let others decide its fate. KickAssAndGiggle (talk) 19:08, February 19, 2014 (UTC)

  1. Symbol delete vote Delete. I gather there is some kind of pun here. Maybe the random things are spelling a word? Maybe it's just meant to be random? Either way it hasn't hit me and if others feel the same way (cos I might just be stupid) then I think the reader's consideration has been left out of this stub. Sir ScottPat (talk) White Ensign Scotland Flag 1 Compassrose VFH UnS NotM WotM WotY 18:16, February 16, 2014 (UTC)
  2. Symbol delete vote Delete. The trick is, you have to read the source code to understand the joke. Isn't that precious? Spıke ¬ 18:20 16-Feb-14
  3. Symbol delete vote Delete.Lame. To see how this could have been done, I use this as an example: Fifty Shades of Grey. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 21:38, February 18, 2014 (UTC)
  4. Symbol delete vote Delete. For me, while it may not "harm" the wiki, it has no real merit. KickAssAndGiggle (talk) 22:37, February 18, 2014 (UTC)

  1. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Hmmmm. Anyway, back to the nom. This page is one of the first play-on-words using symbols on uncy (read the talk page for an interesting conversation between the founder of unyc and some of the first members). It is very clever, and I saw it a couple of years ago and both liked it and was impressed. Keeping it does nothing to harm the wiki, which should be a consideration in these noms. Thanks. • I am not sure about this one. You don't absolutely have to read the code to understand the joke but without reading it, it is extremely difficult to get it. The random things are actually a half-encrypted message ("Corrupted absolutely") and this leads to the only joke the article has - that "absolute power corrupts absolutely". Do you think the pun will gain from being more obvious? Anton (talk) Uncyclopedia United 18:55, February 17, 2014 (UTC)
No, you don't have to absolutely read the source code. But the page is like a syllogism where the page title gives one premise, and the content gives the conclusion, provided the reader supplies the other premise. "Too clever by half." Spıke ¬ 19:13 17-Feb-14

  2. Symbol delete vote Delete. A Socratean dialogue along the same lines might have been amusing, but this is a soliloquy with the strong sense of the author patting himself on the back at his ability to write conundrums. (Compare Epigram.) Spıke ¬ 18:47 16-Feb-14
