*I cleaned up the red-links (some created in anticipation of writing a personal story arc on neighboring counties), the vanity, and the anti-cop rants; but it still has nothing more profound to say than racial minorities, indebtedness, and rude drivers. Classic "towncruft" that, in the case of England, we went on a drive to snuff out earlier in the year. {{User:SPIKE/signature}}15:01 24-Aug-14

Don't finagle with with the above template. Seriously. You may succumb to peer pressure.

And place the VFD tag on the page, dammit! Otherwise, we will scrape your balls with a rusty razor blade! If you don't have balls we are willing to improvise.

#{{Delete}} Another article whose title demands that the reader type the exact joke he wants to read, to see if we ever wrote it. Recasting the USA as a socialist/Soviet country is trite to begin with, and in part simply true. What this article provides is an extremist version of what Obama wants to do with America. Neither the parts that are too close to truth nor the parts that are paranoid are funny. {{User:SPIKE/signature}}22:21 21-Aug-14

*{{Comment}} [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back_in_the_USSA], this Wikipedia page seems to suggest that the USSA was not an invention of Uncyclopedia and therefore may be typed into our searchbar. I'll have a look at it and see what to touch up. Obama being a socialist is only a joke that Americans will get as Britain's current (already quite dismantled) welfare state (and many other countries') makes Obama's policies seem rather Conservative. {{User:ScottPat/sig3}} 11:27, August 22, 2014 (UTC)

#{{Delete}} The Intro and the quotations (the "Fat cunt" one is the only significant change since {{U|Dwight K Shrute}} finished this in 2010) give the impression that the point of the article is the joy of taking savage hacks at the former Irish leader, rather than taking some time to try to be inventive. {{User:SPIKE/signature}}21:45 24-Aug-14

**I think that one is better, but I still see it as a pretty straight write-up of what people think about cutting, rather than a humorous twist on it. Hav a look at the second paragraph of the section headed "A few simple ways to avoid cutting", maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see a single joke in there. Much of the rest is the same -- {{User:Sannse/Sig}} 21:43, August 27, 2014 (UTC)

**:Again, I've merged the various versions; be sure you are evaluating the current ("our best" version). A piece of the text you highlight (now a separate bullet), about tension build-up in younger teens (linked to [[Emo]]) is too subtle and I just cut it out. But I do see jokes in there, mostly the "humor of repetition" — especially when the author repeats "compulsive behaviours." It does read like a spork of a serious treatise, with not our best comedy applied to it, but not deleteworthy. Ridiculing various neuroses is fair game. {{User:SPIKE/signature}}21:59 27-Aug-14

The goal here is to improve the quality of Uncyclopedia, not to win a vote. You can edit a page during a vote. You can flip your vote if the page improves or if other voters convince you.

To nominate a page for deletion
  • Read these rules and the deletion policy.
  • Do not increase the number of active nominations on VFD to over 20, as a 1 day ban often offends. (Inactive votes, which are grayed out, don't count in the limit of 20.)
  • Please check an article's history before nominating it. If there has been vandalism, revert it to the best past version. Also, check the article's talk page to see if it is in Category:Deletion Survivor. If so, Special:WhatLinksHere will find the relevant VFD archive(s); read about how the previous vote(s) went.
  • Add {{VFD}} to the article in question. Failure to do so will invalidate the vote.
  • If an article survives VFD, do not resubmit it for at least 1 month.

Add a new article here

How to quickly find VFDable articles (using special pages)

To vote to delete or keep an article
  • Edit the section for the article in question.
  • To vote, start a new line at the end of the delete= or keep= section, beginning with #. This creates a numbered entry. Do not put a space before #. Increment the delnumber or keepnumber, whichever applies.
    • To post brief indented replies to a vote, start lines with #: with one or more colons; anything else breaks the numbered list.
  • To type a comment, start a new line at the end of the comments= section, beginning with * (as comments need not be numbered).
  • Votes with an explanation, and comments, are more helpful in analyzing the quality of an article.
  • ~~~~ - Sign and timestamp your vote. Unsigned votes will be removed without prejudice.

Do not delete any content without authorization. To change a vote, strike your old one and add a new one. Do not change other users' posts. At least 24 hours must pass before a nomination is closed or an article is deleted.

I'll have a look at it and see what to touch up. • This is the last version that was entirely the original author's work, and it may be better than the current one. Or it may not. I'm not that fond of either, but I thought I should drop this here anyway as I think the large number of mostly IP edits has not done any good. -– Llwy-ar-lawr (Shyriiwook?) 04:07, August 27, 2014 (UTC)
    • I think that one is better, but I still see it as a pretty straight write-up of what people think about cutting, rather than a humorous twist on it. Hav a look at the second paragraph of the section headed "A few simple ways to avoid cutting", maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see a single joke in there. Much of the rest is the same -- sannse@Wikia (talk) 21:43, August 27, 2014 (UTC)
Again, I've merged the various versions; be sure you are evaluating the current ("our best" version). A piece of the text you highlight (now a separate bullet), about tension build-up in younger teens (linked to Emo) is too subtle and I just cut it out. But I do see jokes in there, mostly the "humor of repetition" — especially when the author repeats "compulsive behaviours." It does read like a spork of a serious treatise, with not our best comedy applied to it, but not deleteworthy. Ridiculing various neuroses is fair game. Spıke ¬ 21:59 27-Aug-14

You mean "without", dear. And we (almost) all have our areas where the balance of humor to distaste goes steeply in one direction or the other.
