For This isn't any ordinary "This page would have worked in 2005" page. This is the Main Page! (And if it doesn't work, I'll try at Illogicopedia.) --Kip > Talk•Works••
For A cascadey picture and some well-written text would make this a great front-page candidate. If not now, then we could always add an "International Meta-Humour Day" to our calendar at some point, and use it to celebrate the stranger side of Uncyc. I'm serious, by the way...! -- (but) UntrueWhhhy?Whut? How?*Back from the dead* 17:43, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

No. Listen, there are pages, and then there are pages. Main page is one of those. Other pages, people wrote. By people I mean people. Main page didn't get written by people. Well, the code did, but the people who wrote the code were rewarded with a complementary episode of STNG. Noms for other pages, the ones written by people, meanwhile, sit unread because this nom for main page is hogging their attention. By "their attention", I mean "my attention". Nope. Even I love pudding was a better idea than this. We have Redundancy (and also Redundancy for that matter) already, just feature those again (and again and again and again and again...) ЖWHEEEEE! 17:44, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
I don't know if this can be done, or if someone has tried to do this before, but would it not be hilarious to see on the main page "Today's featured article: Main Page." Someone would have to create a picture of the Main Page featuring the Main Page, but you all at Uncyclopedia seem intelligent enough to pull that off. Feel free to put me in my place if this is not as humorous as I thought it would be.CornStarch 08:56, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Could someone put a notice on the top of VFH regaurding nominating the main page so we don't go through this whole thing every few months with a different newbie? Or is this in the same vein as nomming rcmurphy as NotM? ~
To clarify, it's so deliciously uncyclopedic. Yeah, there's pages written by people who are desperate to have their articles on the front page, but to be honest, how often do we not have that? It isn't like there's a limited number of features, so when there's a chance to do something original that actually hasn't been done before, why not go for it? I'm surprised we've gone this long without doing it. •Spang•☃•talk• 03:53, 21 Aug 2007
Then next can we feature the ICU template? Then VFD? Then the UGotM page? There's not taking this seriously, and then there's putting no thought into Uncyc at all. SirModusoperandiBoinc! 16:06, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Ya know, I thought about nominating a few of those pages you were talking about, but it just not as funny as featuring the main page. It is hard to explain why this would be so funny to feature, but I think the best way would be for someone to actually visualize what the main page would look like featuring itself. Plus, an article featuring itself? Come on, hilarious.CornStarch 00:40, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
When I though this up, I totally had the cascading image effect in mind, it would be perfect and not hard to pull off. Just take a screen shot of the main page, and where the featured article should be, paste the screen shot. Rinse and Repeat. Sadly though, This idea has too much opposition, oh well.CornStarch 00:53, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
If it was anything like Braydie proposed for the idea a little while ago, you're wouldn't get it. You'd just get the top header. ~
Abs. while i can't make up my mind at this time, as an astrophysicist i can tell you that featuring the main page on the main page would cause the universe to explode. --SirGerrycheeversGunTalk 19:41, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
We can only hope it does! CornStarch 20:46, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
"VFH/Main Page" is considered to be a sacred word by the followers of the Pastafarian faith. In order to prevent 'Ramen' being used until the sushi shops are closed down for heresy, please do not speak it in front of them.
The nomination was not successful. If you count all the past against votes, this is at something like -20. -- BrigadierGeneralSirZombiebaron This article did not pass VFH and was removed on 20:46, 22 August 2007 (UTC). This page is now archived; do not edit it, it will have no effect.
