Random generator doesn't differ so much

For example, you put multiple same templates, both of which contain a random generator, like Lesotho Lesotho. These do render a different thing when you refresh, but not on the individual page session itself. --Sir General Minister G5 FIYC UPotM [Y] #21 F@H KUN 15:23, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

Momentary Site Disappearance

It only lasted about five minutes at 17:18 GMT +1, but the whole site just upped and left the intarweb without a by-your-leave. This might be a one off technical clitch at either end (mine or yours) but if it happens again or keeps happening (without it being traced to my end), you may have a server issue (bug) lurking in an unwanted corner that needs squishing, squashing and defenestrating...

I'm Having a Battle with Another Uncyclopedia User

The Mark David Chapman page. Only two people have ever edited that page. One is me. The other is...another person. We keep changing the page back and forth and back and forth and back and forth the same way again and again. He's getting into my head. He's ruining me. I'm losing touch with my family. I'm getting to drinking again. Anyway, I don't know if this qualifies as a problem someone can help me with. I swear, if there was an Ask Amy advice column on this wiki, I would use it first, but I don't know what else to do. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thatblondguy (talk • contribs)

Dude... Use the edit summaries and talk pages to communicate with people! Leave the user a message on their talk page, or perhaps the talk page of the article, then refer them to the talk page when you revert them. Come to a compromise... If after several attempts people refuse to discuss compromise then consult an admin for advice afterwards. Also, post new stuff at the bottom next time! Enjoy... Yeah I got plenty to sell, I work at a clinic and I bring home one quart bottles of cherry flavor (red). Just call me. As soon as you're addicted to Methadone, we will have to use Suboxone to get you off that, which is more addictive and more expensive. That's how we operate. And don't ask for a dosage decrease, we need your money. I bloody hell just had to leave the David Icke show early cux there wasn't a pub that I could find tw'no-where. Penis on Screen

If you find that there is a large penis on your screen and it won't go away no matter how many times you press alt+f4 or use Ctrl+Alt+Delete, don't panic. This is normal. Most users experience this at some point during their usuage of uncyclopedia. I have no solution, although I haven't come across the issue myself. I haven't updated Safari for a while though. Random musing: each browser interprets HTML differently so I'm thinking it's a browser issue that can only be "fixed" by changing the HTML for the wiki overall, which I'm guessing is a wikipedia issue, which I would also guess as it doesn't effect Wikipedia proper it's not a priority. Please change this!

This is more of a pleed than a problem. But there i don't know where else to put this so i just chose here.

When working on articles, i somethimes may spend an hour on one page. Now i don't know if this happens to anyone else, but sometimes when i am scrolling up and down the page i tend to accidently press the Beginners Guide or HTBFANJS links. Thus loosing all the work i just did. This is one of those moments where you feel as if you want to shoot yourself. Now i have 3 ideas to help this from happining.

1. You move those links down, just a tad, maybe under the summery or something, so this is less likely to occur.

2. You make it so if you do happen to press that button, when you go back a page, you progress ins't lost, it just isn't saved yet.

3. You have a pop-up saying "are you sure you wish to leave this page without saving the work you just did, or something like that.

I just worked about 45 minutes on a page non-stop because ideas just keep popping into my head, and right before i save i click the Beginer's Guide button, and boom all my work is gone.

So please, fix that problem --Happymonkey39 LAZARWeegeeheadbobinDomo kun dance1 Dah Meme Master 03:37, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

An interesting problem. I never hit that myself, but the problem seems to occur when you want to write something in the summary box? And miss it with your mouse? Maybe just not write in that box, or practice aiming your mouse at something enough times so it goes where you want it to go. But your ideas work too. Al not an admin, but passing thru 3:53 12 7 MMX

Odd interwiki link question

Just went from Occam's Razor to the Italian version of it - just for giggles - and then went from Italian back here, but it took me to a create page for the article. I HAVE A GENERIC PROBLEM!!!

Hello, how are you? I think I may have a problem with the Random page link. Usually, it redirects to a different page each time, but lately it keeps directing me to the Random page page. Could you fix this please?

Also, I will be on vacation during the next two weeks. So, you can shut off your website until I return.

I don't know how to creat an article

I can't get to a place where I can create an article on this site. I assumed there would be a place on this site that would let me do that. I'm not banned, I don't even have an account.

Hello anonymous IP. The way to create an article is a complex and involved process. What you need to do is search for the title of the article you wish to create, and click "Go". If there isn't an article already by this name then it will come up with a screen that will tell you that, and ask "Would you like to create this?" (Yes, for some reason it can't spell creat properly.)
When you click on that link it will take you to a blank article. What generally happens then is that you create an article without reading How to be funny and not just stupid and you write an article that will have the survival expectations of a lame antelope in a pride of lions. This will then be deleted and you will feel like nobody understands your special blend of humour and can't appreciate the finer points of what is so funny about chuck norris having buttsecks with your teacher. You will feel rejected and leave the site with feelings of despondancy. Then you will remember this and think to yourself "if only I had read htbfanjs and created an account that might have lasted a little longer, and maybe the community of uncyclopedia would have supported me in my early attempts to write a great article." And then you'll probably write something about oscar wilde being tentacle raped by a grue and a flying spaghetti monster.                               Puppy's talk page00:40, June 5, 2009 Wednesday, 22:16, Jul 14 2010 UTC

Two passwords?!

I've been trying to create an account on Uncyclopedia, but whenever I click the "create account button" it tells me that I have two different passwords. Even when I copied the top one and pasted it back in. On other occasions it tells me I'm a hacker, and that I must go back and try again. I find this deeply offensive as I expect total obedience from my computer. If the problem isn't solved soon I shall have to bash my head against its keyboard. And no, I don't know how to get this off the title page. Sorry. I'll make sure to smash the monitor when this problem is solved. Err... after repeatedly bashing the enter key it worked, I'm gonna leave this up just in case you want to prevent this from happening again. Please don't judge me for breaking stuff. Oh, and you owe me a new monitor and keyboard.

HelpmeScreen1

Click the "log in" text, even though it doesn't look like a link.

Then I click on the text (doesn't even appear to be a hyperlink, but somehow it works) and I get this
HelpmeScreen2

Try the log in button, and click the "log in again" link if you are redirected to the "You have logged out" page.

. After clicking "log in" it takes me to a page saying I just logged out. Click on the "log in again" link, or whatever it says it is, and then do this process again. That got me signed back in.--Sirrah CatshirE Chess the Striker2117 00:46, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
First, even if this worked, making it harder to log in doesn't seem to me to be an improvement (let a login look like a login, like it used to).
Second, it doesn't always work. I tried signing in three times with the latest version of IE, and couldn't login. I switched to Firefox, and had problems. I tried Firefox in safe mode, and logged in the first time. But then I tried it again, and it took four times before it would log me in. Could somebody fix it, please? WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 02:42, May 7, 2010 (UTC)

I second all the comments here, I had to create two sockpuppets to get on, and the only time I finally got on I have no idea how it occurred, but haven't wanted to log off in fear and trepidation I'd lose access again. Why mess with this again, it was working fine. And when I sign out soon, maybe my new sock will be the only entity able to be back tomorrow Aleister in Chains 4:36 7 5 MMX

Watchlist / Following Exposed to the World

I've been on vacation for a week or so, and came back. I found my watchlist was now part of my user page. I realize we're in an age where privacy is disappearing, but I DO NOT want the world seeing what I choose to look at. According to Under User, there's an option to turn this off. But could someone set Uncyclopedia so the default is that people's personal watchlist will not be displayed unless we decide to show it to everyone? I felt like one of those high school students who took a lap top computer home not knowing the administration had planted a webcam so they could spy on students at home.

Also I think it's confusing that now I have "my watchlist" but what I'm watching is no longer called "watching," it's called "following." Could this either be made "my following" and "following" (which seems confusing to me, but at least it's consistent) or, better yet, go back to "my watchlist" and "watching?" Thanks for listening. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 02:51, May 7, 2010 (UTC)

Clicking "View Source" shows an odd yellow bar with two HR's, and no source. I would like to view Template:Title's code, but I am unable to. I am using Firefox 3.6.6. 75.71.202.125 02:56, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

I can see it fine, same browser. Edit this to see the code; I pasted it into my sandbox for you. --Andorin Kato 03:01, July 9, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you, although I had found out that opening in a new tab works, but clicking it doesn't. 75.71.202.125 03:25, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

Apparently it relates to the voltage on your computer. You'll find a switch near the power point that says "110/220". If you switch that over it should work.                               Puppy's talk page00:40, June 5, 2009 Friday, 07:25, Jul 9 2010 UTC

It takes a while sometimes for the software to make a thumb. Especially for an image that freakin' huge! You ever consider shrinking that sucker? We don't really need to see the clone tool marks and everything. I'm a pretty bad offender too, but usually you only upload an image that big when there's a ton of (wanted) detail. Haven't you read that Uncyclopedia is almost full? --MEEPsigKUN VFH POTM VFP(IMAGESTALK) 18:03, August 23, 2010 (UTC)

Right...I'll shrink it down. Thanks for the answer. Bob the Wikipedian 18:05, August 23, 2010 (UTC)

I am dumb, not just funny

After having numerous witty articles deleted, and being banned for life from Uncyclopedia, I am beginning to suspect that the error may actually be with me. And why does my vanity page redirect to LUser?

Template Spoiler

Please edit Template:Spoiler and include the Korean interwiki in the "noinclude" section. At the moment, every page using this template has an interwiki link to the Korean spoiler template. The template is protected, therefore I cannot do it myself. NaturalBornKieler (talk) Germany Flag 1 11:43, December 27, 2010 (UTC)

Help!!! HOMEWORK

I'm doing my math homework and I desperately need help, so I taped my problem set paper page to my monitor so it is pasted directly on this Uncyclopedia page and you can see it. What's the answer to #6?

My buttons are disappearing

I just started an account and started editing right away. First few times, i had a button for adding pictures. A couple days later i played with the settings and went back to editing. It had vanished. I tried resetting all defaults and playing with more settings, but nothing worked. Then just now my add slideshow button disappeared. This might be a wikia problem, but i complain to you, you complain to them. Does anyone out there know how to fix this tragic problem? My pages are getting ugly and bland and i fear not even templates will save them. --Yitzaklr (also my preview button isnt working so i cant tell if thats a signature or just a few dashes)

I have nothing like the two buttons, but do have a preview button. Wikia has really been fluggin up lately, and we've had no real answers, and then there are the ads. Do you have any ads on your pages, aside from the small ones at the bottom? And are you that guy who used to be Cat Stevens? Aleister 21:50 6 11

Hopefully, yes. We have a common custom to blame Wikia for things like this. And since Wikia doesn't have that many people at their disposal, it might take a while. Nationalism not Funny

Some ranting Balkan ultranationalist from ROM/FYROM posted a map that shows several adjoining nations annexed to his own. Could someone please remove the image because it's definitely not funny to people living in those nations. http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/File:Map_of_macedonia.png

More offensive images from what is obviously another attempt to spread ethnic hatred against Greeks

http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/File:Greek_timetravel_theory.jpg http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/File:Ancient-modern_link.jpg

As of this date user 'zullu"'s sole purpose for joining seems to me insulting Greeks (rather than poking fun at everyone-including people from his own country-my guess FYROM/ROM). Would someone be kind enough to remove his images from ununcylopedia. http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/Zullu The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.66.138.83 (talk • contribs)

Tricky question. Short answer is that without looking too deeply into it, it's not likely. We have a fairly lenient policy towards these types of things, and it would be unusual for content to be censored because it potentially offended. In fact, a large percentage of what makes up uncyclopedia is deliberately offensive material that someone else finds funny. However, if you feel that this is of a major concern you canreport the user in question to Ban Patrol UN:BP and the admins can look into it a little deeper, and add images to VFD for the community to vote in wether or not they have merit remaining on the site and go from there. Alternatively you can ask an active admin UN:AA to take up the flag for you. Of course, they may choose to do nothing, but it's an option.                               Puppy's talk page00:40, June 5, 2009 Thursday, 14:33, Dec 30 2010 UTC
Longer answer after looking into it - extremely unlikely. My advice is to take it as a criticism and get over it. If you think suggesting that modern day Greeks are ancient hellenics who have time travelled is extremely offensive then you are too thin skinned. Especially when you have described someone as "ranting Balkan ultranationalist".                               Puppy's talk page00:40, June 5, 2009 Thursday, 14:51, Dec 30 2010 UTC
