edit Political Correctness

Hi, it's my first attempt at writing something and I would like some early feedback. The article is still mostly incomplete, but I wanted some early opinions on the concept and the overall idea, even if it's feasible of if you think I should scrap the whole thing. Of course suggestions are always nice.

Thanks. Latin is for sissies 19:49, April 26, 2010 (UTC)

Hey thanks. I will proceed with the writing and, hopefully, get somewhere. Latin is for sissies 04:21, April 28, 2010 (UTC)
I like to write a lot of things, I’m pretty good at Pee Reviews, and I received an award Author of the Month Award and one feature. Also I like Avenged Sevenfold, Modern Warfare 2, Halo 3, and brunettes and emo girls.
Concept: 8 Well, this was interesting to read. What I like is that you picked a concept and you stuck to it for at least the first paragraph and the criticism. Because it’s a short article, there is not much I can say, but I think the concept is fine.
Prose and Formatting: 6 There are some spelling errors as well as a few grammar mistakes. When someone does his first article, there are, unless he is a spelling wiz, alwayss spelling errors, so don’t be discouraged. To fix these mistakes, there are three things I recommend. 1) Reading over the article yourself. When I read mine, I have more of a chance to find and fix mistakes, so this can also work for you. 2) Sometimes you may miss a mistake, so another suggesting is Microsoft Word’s spell-check. It’ll find mistakes and you can simply find the right word. But remember, some words can be right but spell-check may think it’s wrong. 3) Best suggestion in my opinion is our wonderful proofreading service. All you do is put the proofreading tag on, and someone will look over and fix mistakes for you. It’s that simple.

Another thing I like to point at is the strike through. Though it may be funny like that, people find it not as funny nowadays. Unless you do something really funny with it and it works, I suggest avoiding that. And avoid making links that lead to nothing, which are called red links. They are annoying so don’t use them, and get rid of them on sight.

Humo(u)r: 7 This is hard to grade due to low quantity of words, but I see what you’re doing here. Therefore, I’ll give you advice on how to make this to a good article.

First, read HTBFANJS, a pretty valid guide which will help you make high quality work on your articles.

Second, avoid from using too many in-jokes, such as kitty huffing, grues, and Chuck Norris. You can make links to these articles if you like, but keep such things low, as people get all bitchy about these things nowadays.

Third, avoid using too much swearing. Even though swearing can make an article funnier, the article would be dull if that’s the only thing that’s on the article, and too much swearing can turn people away from your article. Also, try to keep swearing mostly on quotes or first person articles.

Fourth, try to stick with more things that are related to the truth rather than untrue things (unless it’s an UnBook or UnScript, which you can add any silliness you want, well, not really, but you get what I mean). The funniest pages are closer to the truth, it says so in the HTBFANJS. But don’t make it all truth and no silliness, just add truthful things as well as silly things.

Fifth, do research. This is important as this well help you understand what you’re talking about. When someone does 10 seconds of research, the article would be bad, but if 10, 20 or more of research is done, and then the article would be pretty good. Many great articles here have had a lot of research on them, so doing so would contribute a lot to you article.

Sixth, use your own judgment. You know what I mean by this, so that’s all I’m going to say about this.

Seventh, be funny and not just stupid, and don’t be a dick. Very simple and easy to follow, but some people here can’t get that up their pathetic minds, which end up in a pretty crappy article and/or offensive. Don’t be like these people. Examples of the formal are as followed.

  • Pies are things made from the butts of cows and are enjoy by George W. Bush and are considered evil by the Vatican. ’’’Stupid’’’
  • Pies are a type of desert that is related to the cake and is enjoyed many around the world, including children, Vikings, and the occasional fat guy. ‘’’Funny’’’

As for the latter, this simply mean don’t be offensive to people on your articles or writing things that bring people down, so don’t do that.

That was a mouthful, but it’s the info that counts.

Images: 0 None, but this is your first article, so it’s not a big deal. Images, however, are as important as things that are written in the article. They support your article and make it less dull. All you do is surf the web and look for an image (one that actually contributes to the article) and then upload here then put it in your article, or have someone here photoshop one for you if you can’t find any.
Miscellaneous: 7 My overall grade of this article.
Final Score: 28 It has a long way to go, but I know you can do it. Following my advice as well as reading HTBFANJS will help you make this a success, maybe even VFH worthy. If you have any questions/comments, just go to my talk page and I’ll be happy to answer them. Good Luck! Cheers!
