i enjoyed many, many chuckles whilst reading this article. (the switch switch switch, hehe).
excellent idea, well executed
Prose and formatting:
i fixed the redlinks. feel free to change them, or revert them if you're of the school of thought that redlinks encourage creation of articles about said redlinks. the two images at the top are kind of squished together. maybe go design-inner wrokings-controller design-outer workings, to spread them out? it was also kind of lacking in number of links, maybe sprinkle a few more in there.
the two images at the top are pretty good. i suggest taking the best screen shot (asteroids maybe?) and putting it in the article itself, maybe with a comment on the revolutionary graphics. also, i'm just barely too young to remember my atari-playing days, so excuse me when i ask: those aren't actual screen shots, right? i think a few more would serve well either way. maybe have one with a really long title that seems as if it's poorly translated from japanese, like 'super donkey capturer of worlds', since most atari games had simple names like 'tanks'. the graph is kind of weak...you could add some stuff to the axes (axises?) like dates and varying levels of how much we fucked up.
i abhor lists, but the list of switches was awesome. well done.
problem: there is already an Atari article. possible solutions: 1)since Atari is about a god named atari, you could make a disambiguation page. 2)campaign for Atari to get deleted, because it's just awful. 3)when you move to mainspace, move to something like Atari (console). i'd like to see #2 happen, your article is worthy of being just 'atari'.
Those aren't direct screenshots. They were modified to look worse than they really are. Well, thanks for the review. I was going to move it to Atari 2600 (a redirect to Atari) then remove Atari by redirect since it doesn't look like anyone cares if that article is gone or not (there's not even a template indicating it's part of a series), much less the actual article about the company which also needs a rewrite. ~
