I will tell you what I think. --Murder Frog ✄ Dull interest wanes. 00:40, December 4, 2012 (UTC)
I thought that for the most part this was pretty funny in a number of places, definitely very amusing mostly because of the tone. It's so straightforward and formal and the topic is so ridiculous that I really enjoyed reading it. I also enjoyed your addition of plenty of unneccesary instructions, such as getting a map and bringing scuba gear, although I guess the whole thing is pretty unneccesary! Also liked the little bits of useful information, such as "this will bring water inside the car". However, I do think that sometimes reading the bits of info about obvious things like water short-circuiting the car and watching out for ruts get less funny as the article goes on, so I think trying some more "out of the box" descriptions and putting twists on these "obvious" facts wod help make it stranger, and funnier than it already is. I would encourage you to try and expand it a bit more, just because what you have now is very good. I'd like to hear more! I want to be sure I know exactly how to drive my car out of that lake. Also, in places it could sound a bit more formal, even though for the most part it does that pretty well. I think that would help with making it even funnier. So just see if you can build on it a bit. Otherwise, great humor.
This is a really good topic, in fact I'm a bit envious. Just considering the type of stuff I've seen on the front page, I think something with a topic like this would fit right in there. Plus, the HowTo articles are always fun to read and write, just because of the way you can talk to your reader. It's all about tone, and for the most part I think you've got a good start. Again, I think if you put your mind to it you could expand it.
Prose and formatting:
Good tone and good word choice and organization for each step. I think the one thing I would say is that it looks a little "blocky" with the short clumps of text down below; maybe adding images would help give it a more "official" look? But that's the next box:
I'd say "nearly adequate", because I think a few more pictures would be good for the article. Perhaps finding images of actually getting inside the car and whatnot would be hard to find, but ones that illustrate the dangers of the lake floor, the necessary diving gear, etc. could help it be more "informative" (hah hah) and also would help the overall look of the article by shifting some of the paragraphs around.
Average of the scores.
Looks very promising to me, but should be expanded a wee bit and more images should be inserted on in there. I like the tone and resulting humor, though; it's almost there!
