I'll try to keep it short and maybe give you a detailed explanation when I'm coherent if I remember that I did this and I should have done that instead. Do I think this article is the best thing ever and should be locked for posterity? No. Would I love to see an awesome rewrite? Yes. Will I rewrite it? Fuck you.Do I think that if there is no hope for this article to get a rewrite that the current version should be deleted? ::counts off negations:: No. Both the article's existence and the article as it currently stands serve a purpose. And if you want to know what that purpose is, ask me on a better night. I forgot it from like five minutes ago when I thought it through very carefully... Yeah, but I do like how the current article holds a mirror up to the silliness of the arguments from either side. This is (like, totally) a case where there are in fact very good arguments for either side, but both sides gave up a long time ago and began resorting to insults like this. (There's more, seriously. I just forgot it) I think somewhere in this argument I was planning on saying something to the effect of "musicians have shown time and again that if you write songs about suicide, someone will kill you and get away with it", possibly for the purpose of possibly inspiring someone (else) for a rewrite. Other cases in point include Dead and Elliott Smith, with side notes Nick Drake and, oh yeah, after reading this, you will be unable to stop thinking about hide masturbating. Sorry.
