Fort Wayne, Indiana -- In my travels across the Midwestern United States these last few years, I have heard stories about people throughout the world, often young people, losing their livelihoods, homes, and even the most basic things like food.
The conversation about how to address this problem always seemed to focus on dealing with sovereign and state debt and increasing social welfare programs. While this might be minimally effective as a short-term approach, it is not a long-term solution.
The poverty that is becoming more common in modern society is a product of our forgetting that it is the abundance of the Earth which is true Wealth, which is given freely and belongs to everyone. Massive Financial disparity, draconian labor and costs cutting, consumer culture, prison and education system all combine to further the belief in a economic system of debtors and creditors that is now causing so much suffering.
Until we get serious about planting seeds everywhere we travel as I have done for over 200 years, and face other issues like learning to build our own homes, I'm afraid I will continue to hear about people in the city all over the world who have everything taken from them because they follow a modern economics system that tells them they can't enjoy the bounty of Nature for lack of money.
