CAPE CANAVERAL -- In a bold move, engineers at NASA announced a new propulsion system designed at JPL for the Space Shuttle. The engines are planned to reduce fuel needs for lift off for each Shuttle mission, thereby improving the efficiency of NASA and reducing the expenditures for each flight.

NASA expects to reduce emissions from space flights, and help reduce the amount of pollution now found in outer space. Also, far lower amounts of gasoline will be needed as the highly fuel efficient Prius engines are now installed and ready to jetison the Shuttles into the wild blue yonder.

Also, NASA is announcing an open contest for individuals, universities, or private firms to design an attachment to the Shuttle to hold the 50,000 tons of batteries needed for the new super efficient engines. Prizes for coming first in this competition include an original replica of a Mc. Donald's Big Mac Carton and a life supply of discarded metal waste from old space craft (collect from outerspace at your own risk).
