Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is a game for the Playstation made in 1999. The game sold a whopping 13 copies, and is considered a failure the best game of all time. The game features skateboarding pros such as Tony Hawk, Tony Hawk, Tony Hawk, Bob Burnquist (Who?), and Tony Hawk.

edit Creation of the Game

The game was created when Neversoft was told by Activision to create a skateboarding game where you go down a hill and fall off a bunch of times, fracturing your skull. Neversoft then created Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, a skateboarding game where you grind on a rail and get, like, SUPER pissed that you can't manual, and that you just accidentally ended your combo. After the beta stage of development, Neversoft showed the demo to Tony Hawk, who said that it was really bad, and he wouldn't be appearing in the game in any way. Neversoft used his likeness 4 times in the same game anyways, though.

edit Gameplay

You go down a hill or around a skate park and bail until you fracture your skull. The controls are terrible, with the B button being used for everything in the game. Because of this, it is impossible to play on a standard Playstation, as the PS1 did not have a B button, nor did any other Playstation console.

edit Reception

RottenTomatoes gave this game 1%, stating that it's garbage that isn't playable past the title screen. It is one of the only games to get a -9.5 rating on Metacritic. Activision and Neversoft lost profit from creating 100,000 copies, and only 13 being sold.
