Tom's Hardware Guide
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
Tom's Hardware Guide (THG), is a computer hardware news and review website run by German doctor Thomas Pabst III, Esq., Knight of the Iron Cross, Second Class. The site is known for its extensive testing of all aspects of CPUs, motherboards, video cards, and hard drives, evaluating key attributes of these hardware devices, such as durability, explosiveness, solubility, velocity, and mating practices. It is a favorite site of gamers and enthusiasts.

[edit] History
THG began as "http://sysentengschungfinlisch.kontrolatchung.meitersaw.011yz867.pair.com/tom/hardware/1156doc/" in mid-1996. Originally he reviewed the hammer, screwdriver, and nails he found in the closet behind his receptionist. This led directly to a major promotional contract with Intel Corporation. After writing his landmark article, Why Processor of Intel in Infomatic Game Computing of Besting AMD Should You Buy Now!, he received enough money to purchase his own domain, www.tomshardwaremegasite.com. Since then Tom has been on the cutting edge of hardware sites, regularly out-competing other sites such as Hard-on COP and That 16-year-old Guy With Rich Indian Parents.
[edit] The Overclocking Revolution
Tom was late getting to his office one morning in 1997. His first appointment was rather miffed at having to wait 30 minutes (Euro/Metric) for him to arrive. But Tom had an ingenious plan: he discovered the "clock" feature in "Windows 95," and that by double-clicking it, he could "overclock" the clock so that it showed an earlier time. After he successfully "overclocked" his computer, he showed the time to his patient, thus convincing him that he was, in fact, early for the appointment. Tom's invention of overclocking spawned an entire industry of losers too cheap to buy a new PC (see also: Honda Civic).
[edit] Controversy
THG was reprimanded by Slashdot for its rampant pro-Intel and pro-3dfx bias. In fact, some market analysts directly blame the fall of nVidia and ATI, and the subsequent 3dfx monopoly, on THG. Since no one remembers who nVidia and ATI are anymore, and everyone is happy with their Voodoo 8 cards, it's a moot point today.
